Early in my educational career, I supervised an after-school grant for several elementary schools. The grant provided funding for the schools to offer tutoring and academic-based student activities. It was an excellent opportunity for our students to be exposed to various activities, including art, chess, music, and STEM.
One of the most popular clubs was robotics. Students learned to build and program their robots. The best part of the experience was watching the students compete in local competitions.
