Failing to Prepare is Preparing to Fail: Animal Emergency Preparedness with Erica Honey
Oct 31, 2022 Episode 24
Platinum CPD and Emma McConnell

#024 - It is a concerning fact that over time we are experiencing a greater number of emergency situations. Although there seems to be little we can do to prevent these occurrences, there is a lot we can do, as veterinary professionals, when it comes to preparedness and animal emergency management.

Erica Honey is an incredible veterinary nurse with a background in emergency and critical care, however she has now turned her attention to helping veterinary practices and  internal and external stakeholders be best prepared for a range of emergency situations. As a self-confessed "lover of organised chaos" who is inherently intrigued by "lights and sirens", Erica has become well-versed in incident management and now offers a consultancy service focused on veterinary urgent and emergent scenarios.

During this episode, Erica shares her unique story and how she came to be so passionate about this particular field. She also provides some truly valuable and actionable tips on how to develop an emergency plan for your practice, highlighting the fact that having some kind of preparedness for an emergency situation is better than having no plan at all.  #thepositiVETypodcast
