Hey, everyone, and welcome to the entrepreneur heroes podcast. In this episode, I'm going to be speaking about the secret to building the perfect relationship. Yeah, I hear that, you're probably thinking, me, are you mad? Well, I'm a married man, I've got a kid, I have in laws, and my family and my own friends. I've got my inside of my life before I was married. So that's a lot of baggage. It's a lot of different culture, beliefs and values. So when you're in a relationship, you have to adapt. You have to listen. And you have to be aware. So if you really, really want to know the secret? I'll tell you right now is this. Did you hear that? I'll do it again. Is to shut up and listen sometimes. Because let's think about it. This relationship in terms of meeting people networking, a lot of people when you go and meet people for networking, what is it? It's, it's about me, I do this, I do that I can do this sort of that me, me, me. And it gets tired real quick. I'm sure you can think of someone, maybe some of your friends you want to speak to, but you can't because they're too busy talking about themselves? What does that do to your relationship? It makes you not even want to talk to them about certain things, because you know, whatever you say, it's going to be about them. And that's probably one of the biggest keys of a relationship not working. And you don't want that, Keith, because you want relationships to work, no matter what, whether they're new under the old ones, whether they're relationships that you need to mend. It's, listen. Because when you listen, you can actually hear, and sometimes you can hear what they're not saying. You can look for themes. What are they saying? What are they running from? Or What pain have they gone through by listening to the tone of voice? Are they running a pattern in a life, you know, maybe some people have based decisions on, on negativity on being scared. And every other decision they do is going to be based on upon that. And it could be negatively impacting their life, but you don't know. So if you come out with some advice, like man up, don't do this, they're not going to listen, you need to understand the place where it's come from. And this is the pattern that you can help them break. So by understanding and listening, that's one of the biggest secrets, I would say, to the perfect relationship. Now, there's some people listening to this, they might be in relationships with a partner that could be married. And listening is super key. For me, personally, it's about understanding. And it's not always thinking that my way is doing the way it's not. It's putting your ego set aside is listening, because collaboration is very important. You can't do things by yourself all the time. It's to let your filter down and understand that other people can contribute as well. So you have to listen, you need to be able to take things on board and work as a team. Because if you can't work as a team, literally, you're not going to do well. If anyone's a football fan right here, you can see Man United, probably the worst season they've had ever because they're not working as a team. Everyone's got an ego, everyone's got an agenda. And it's just not working doesn't matter you can have you've got the one of the best players in the world in that team. And it's still not working out. So you have to sometimes look at yourself in the mirror and be okay with who you are. If you're a bit of a dictator, accept it, be okay.
But know that it's time to listen and it's time I'm to make some changes because small incremental changes will help will make relationships better with yourself, with people, with your other halfs with your family. So anyone that is in a relationship, whether it's professional, whether it's family, its friends. Think about this strategy of just listening to what they're saying and listening to what they're not saying. And just try and implement little, little changes in the right direction. Because if you try and flip a car upside down, that's a hell of a lot of hard work. But if you slowly slowly try to move it pivoted, and it will support is going to really, really help. You know, change doesn't happen overnight. It takes time. But listen, adapt, implement, and be okay with it. And I hope this tip has helped. And again, any feedback, any stories or getting from listening to this, I'd love to really, really hear it there. Thank you again for tuning into this episode.
