When we look at the mission of Jesus through a religious veil and see him as simply a merciful means to eternal salvation, we miss sonship entirely. The place of sonship was the foundation of Jesus' life. It is this same place of identity that he is calling us back too. Reunion with the father is the primary work that God is up to in our lives.
