Sports, Marvel Movies, and Celebrity Debates with Glenn Steel and Rob Miranda
Have you ever wondered what happens when two sports enthusiasts with a penchant for Marvel movies get behind the mic? Glenn Steel and I, Rob Miranda, kick off with tales of athletic misadventures, from Glenn's softball and volleyball escapades to my ambitious yet unprepared attempt at a 5K run. We humorously banter about the upcoming Turkey Bowl and my fantasy football league standings that shock even me. Cats make a surprise appearance in our conversation—because what’s a podcast without a chubby feline in a gold chain?
Marvel fans, get ready to geek out! We navigate the cinematic universe, debating if rewatching the films in chronological order can bring a fresh perspective to our favorite superhero sagas. Our admiration for the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise takes center stage as Glenn and I explore its awe-inspiring visuals and toe-tapping soundtrack. We even extend our discussion to upcoming movie releases and share personal anecdotes that blend hilarity with genuine excitement.
And what’s a pop culture chat without a playful debate on the hottest celebrities? We rank the irresistible charm of Chris Evans, Keanu Reeves, and Chris Pratt, all while sharing behind-the-scenes tidbits, like the time James Gunn almost CGI'd a six-pack on Pratt. From Hollywood fame to festive well-wishes, we wrap up with a special nod to Cat Williams, Glenn’s ever-chill cat, and a promise of more laughter-filled episodes to come.
excuse me, is anybody sitting here? Sorry, this is taken, sorry and we're back with this.
Speaker 2:He's taken where I'm your host, rob miranda. Uh, recurring guest. You haven't been on in a hot minute, but I'm glad you're here.
Speaker 1:Mr glenn steel, thanks for coming on and I am your co-host, glenn how you guys guys doing Good to be back.
Speaker 2:Good to be back.
Speaker 1:Love coming back on the program.
Speaker 2:You weren't just. It wasn't that long ago. You were on right.
Speaker 1:I can't remember the last time I was probably on here, probably about six or seven weeks ago, if I had to guess.
Speaker 2:I would say so, but it's a busy time of the year.
Speaker 1:It's almost like I had to book you because, like, fall is a pretty big time of the year for you, one like summer's ending, but you're still doing sports, like you're still playing softball and volleyball right now. Yeah, softball ended last week. We lost again, like we always do, but I'm going to tell everybody that we won the World Series back to back, speaking of the World Series, baseball's going on, baseball, baseball's just finished actually.
Speaker 1:I'm playing volleyball too. That's like actually really fun. This is my first time playing and I look forward to Wednesday nights. It's really fun.
Speaker 2:That's pretty sick. Yeah, I used to go to well, it used to be Omni to go play open volleyball.
Speaker 1:Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2:But I had to stop going because they take it so competitively Like they would talk shit to my face like my own team members if I fucked up.
Speaker 1:It gets intense in there it does. I'm too sensitive for that. Next weekend we have the football tournament, the turkey bowl, the turkey. That's already next next saturday. Yeah, you guys been going practicing for that like for weeks now not as much as we have in years past. It's, we're gonna. It's it's not looking anywhere close to uh, as good as it has in the past, and in the past we've been a dog shit. So, um, no expectations there, but I'm not really fun athletic either, but we're recording this on a Saturday.
Speaker 2:Tomorrow I'm doing that 5K run, the hot chocolate run, in Chicago Are you nervous. I have done almost zero training for this.
Speaker 1:By that do you mean you've done zero training?
Speaker 2:Zero training. I ran once a mile three weeks ago.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, that was the last time I went to the gym too. We were both there.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but at this point it's more about like, I want to see how far I can run without training.
Speaker 1:Like without stopping yeah let's take bets.
Speaker 2:We should take bets.
Speaker 1:Okay, I'm going to say under one and a half miles. Ooh, that's good. I was going to say under one and a half miles.
Speaker 2:Ooh, that's good. I was going to say 1.3. All right, my goal is to at least run more than half of the race. That's my biggest goal.
Speaker 1:How many miles is five kilometers I?
Speaker 2:think it's like 3.2 miles.
Speaker 1:Yikes.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:I'm not sure if I could do that.
Speaker 2:You want to know what I had last night for dinner.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Like.
Speaker 1:You want to know what I had last night for dinner.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you lay it on Almost half a case of a Crave Case from White Castle.
Speaker 1:Lots of.
Speaker 2:Rolo Sticks, french Fries and a chocolate shake.
Speaker 1:I don't want you to think I didn't see the Crave Case when I walked in right now. I definitely saw it sitting on the counter.
Speaker 2:And I was going to ask.
Speaker 1:I was going to be like, hey, can I get a slider?
Speaker 2:Yeah, just munching them out.
Speaker 1:You had like 15 slideys last night.
Speaker 2:Almost.
Speaker 1:Nice.
Speaker 2:Almost. I'm just airing it all out right now, anyways. But it's also football season too, oh yeah, and you're pretty deep in it. So far, you're in a ton of fantasy leagues. How have you been doing so far?
Speaker 1:It's about halfway through the season. At this point Fantasy leagues nobody cares, but I yeah, it's all going bad it was my first year doing well.
Speaker 2:My second year, but my first year trying in a fantasy league with ours. Um, I was doing very well until about like two weeks ago yeah but I was shocked.
Speaker 1:I was in the top three for most of the season I know, me and brandon, we were looking at it the other day and we saw that your record, rob, is up there yeah, dominating the. Dominating the league.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but you've been going to the well we talked about it in the summertime Like you've been going to the movies a lot, I don't think you've gone a whole lot recently, right.
Speaker 1:I went to see Smile 2 last week one night. It was cool. We went to a theater with comfy seats in Illinois I think it was an AMC.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it was a great move.
Speaker 1:you get scared no, but it was good though so you live alone in a like a. Your street is dark as fuck at night very and there's no lights around my house too, because I'm too lazy to fix the light bulbs, so it's dark man, I can't do that.
Speaker 2:Like, on top of that, you legit have a ghost in your house yeah, there's.
Speaker 1:There's confirmed by me paranormal activity going on in the premises.
Speaker 2:100 other witnesses as well I can't, I can't, but it's, it's not.
Speaker 1:I feel so uncomfortable at your house now yeah, it can be a little scary, but uh it's, I don't feel scared of it it's not a scary anymore. You got a new cat oh, dude, let's give him a shout out oh man, I love this new cat man. This cat is the chillest cat in the world. I've had multiple people tell me like wow, I can't believe it's very young too I can't. Yeah, he's uh six months.
Speaker 2:Six months as of the 20th yeah, and it, and it's an orange cat.
Speaker 1:I just randomly got him, too, watching football with one of my buddies. He's like hey, we got a cat we got to get rid of. Do you want a cat? Later that night I was an owner of a new cat Named him Cat Williams.
Speaker 2:Cat Williams. That's pretty sick.
Speaker 1:Cat Williams has a sick gold chain. He looks like just a gangster and he's the chillest cat, like people told me. I've never had a cat. This is my first cat of my life. I've always said I don't like cats and you know I've just been alone at home. You know I need.
Speaker 2:I need someone there, you know most people get a girlfriend, but yeah yeah, well, you know, I got a cat I got cat william.
Speaker 1:Williams and his excellent gold chain.
Speaker 2:He is a dope cat, he's awesome.
Speaker 1:Everybody tells me that cats tear stuff up and are like really you know what I'm saying. He hasn't done anything.
Speaker 2:He's still very young, though.
Speaker 1:He's a lot of time.
Speaker 2:You only had him for like two weeks.
Speaker 1:No, I've had him for like a month and a half at this point. Yeah, we've bonded.
Speaker 2:That's pretty sick that's my boy. I met him a couple times. He just comes and hangs out and watches sports, yeah, but um, this is going to be a open tabs episode. There isn't really any movies out there that I found interesting, which is wild, because october had a lot of great movies. Uh, we are going to november.
Speaker 1:I'm sorry, rob, can I interrupt just for a second? Go back to the cat before we forget, because I do have a cat question. Have you ever had a cat? Um when?
Speaker 2:I was very, very little. We have a cat question. Have you ever had a cat? When I was very, very little, we got a cat. He was a black and white cat, or black and white and brown. Sorry, he had half a tail, like his name was we named him Taylor because of that.
Speaker 1:Oh, that's so cute.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but we moved here, we couldn't bring him. Little Taylor we gave him to my aunt, who's married into the family, her daughter and she became an outside cat. She lived with them but she would go out, that's cool. She would go do her own thing. She would come back at the nighttime.
Speaker 1:That's cool. I would definitely let Cat Williams be an outside cat, but there's just too many scary animals around there.
Speaker 2:Yeah, there's too many wildlife around you.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he'll get eaten up. But the question that I had about cats how often are you supposed to feed them? I don't know. I have a dog I don't even think I'm feeding the right amount either no, I've been feeding cat williams once a day and but like he and he eats a lot and like he's always hungry and he'll sit there and like tell me he's hungry, I'm like, dog, you're gonna get fat. But then I think in my head, wouldn't it be awesome if he just got really fat? That'd be sick.
Speaker 1:You can't jump up on the furniture I'd have to get like a really big gold chain for him to fit around him. So I don't know, I might just keep feeding him because he is getting like. I'm looking at him, he's getting big like. You don't know if he's before and after yeah, because I've had him a month and a half now and I know he is getting older, so he's growing, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2:You have to leave him several treats before you leave to work. Oh, every day, yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's why. Well, cat Williams likes to treat, he likes to snack, he's like me.
Speaker 2:They say cats are like. Going back to the episode, like I said, it's open tabs, not really talking about any new episodes. You recently started going through all the Marvel movies, all the MCU movies, right now.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I started that this summer. I got a good chunk out of the way You're more than halfway there. Yeah, and then football season hit and then it kind of really paused until a week or two ago. I picked it up again and even as of super recently, like last night, I watched two. I got all the way up to spider-man uh, far from home.
Speaker 1:and then I watched black widow last night okay, so you're definitely I'm up to shang chi, the eternals, and then spider-man, far from home those are like the coven movies, are they okay?
Speaker 2:I'm that caught up well, black widow came out in COVID too.
Speaker 1:And then once I finish this, I'm going to rewatch them because I am enjoying them. A little sneak peek of the podcast I am enjoying them. I'm going to rewatch them in the chronological order.
Speaker 2:Okay, because you didn't watch them as a release order.
Speaker 1:Yeah, Just to know what everything is. Yeah yeah, just to know what everything is. Yeah, and now I'm gonna watch it in order because, even like last night, I'm watching black widow. She's dead where I'm at in the timeline, but I'm watching her backstory after yeah after that. So it's. It's a little confusing sometimes, so I'm gonna experience it the other way as well oh, once you go back, you're gonna like see so many references exactly. Yeah, it's to be awesome, yep.
Speaker 2:I love the MCU. I just got a poster today.
Speaker 1:I see it right there.
Speaker 2:It's Guardians of the Galaxy, the first one.
Speaker 1:Which we'll be talking about today, correct?
Speaker 2:We're going to be talking about Guardians of the Galaxy. Okay, I prepared for the right movie. I'll take a picture of that later.
Speaker 1:That's been my favorite one so far out of all of them, it's the most funnest. Yeah, it's an adventure. And all the colors, it just looks good.
Speaker 2:This poster? What's that actor's name? Chris Pratt.
Speaker 1:Chris Pratt. I've heard of him before this. I didn't know. I've never seen this guy in anything else.
Speaker 2:That's why, because he took over the world for a little bit too, yeah, yeah. So I love this poster because, like one, it captures the whole team and like two, like it just looks like a cool sick 80s poster.
Speaker 2:Almost too huh yeah, like pink floyd not like pink floyd, but so yeah yeah, same type of colors, right no, no, okay little like space action man yeah, yeah, um, but for our throwback movie, for our second movie of the episode, we're going to be talking about neighbors sath rogan and zach efron, which this is your first time watching too, so I'm excited to hear how you um like it, because it seems right up your fucking alley yeah, I guess we'll find out yeah, so, um, let's go back to 2014.
Speaker 2:This is when guardians of galaxy first came out. I remember seeing this premiere. I went with my dad. My youngest brother and I want to see my sister came, if I'm not mistaken too, it was jam-packed. This movie actually broke records for um, the widest release of a marvel film like it had the most white people at it no, why dissed with a d why it is like mean it was in the theaters
Speaker 2:way more than a lot of other movies usually are oh really yeah, yeah, um, but since you're being like you're fresh off the marvel kick right now, I did come up with like a little small 10 thing. 11 question trivia game for you we doing that right now.
Speaker 1:Let's do it right now. I'm prepared for it.
Speaker 2:Let's go, so you're only up to like a certain point. So these are all questions, things you would have already seen. There's actually 13 questions. Some of them. I have multiple choice answer, but if you know the answers, just scream it out. What realm is Thor from Earth, xandar, thor of Asgard or Asgard? All right. What is Loki, the god of Thunder, snakes, tiny knives or mischief?
Speaker 1:He is definitely mischief.
Speaker 2:Yep.
Speaker 1:This guy's got a show huh Loki.
Speaker 2:He has two seasons of a show.
Speaker 1:I'm going to have to check that out at some point.
Speaker 2:My personal favorite of the show.
Speaker 1:He's very involved in a lot of these.
Speaker 2:Yeah, how many Infinity stones are there?
Speaker 1:there's six infinity stones you're fucking killing. Oh yeah, these are layups who's the youngest avenger?
Speaker 2:captain, marvel, spider-man, scarlet witch or black widow?
Speaker 1:um spider-man spider, but he isn't like one of the original Avengers.
Speaker 2:Not the original.
Speaker 1:Because he would have been like six years old, right.
Speaker 2:So you've seen Iron man 3.
Speaker 1:Yes.
Speaker 2:Do you remember, like at the scene where him, and maybe it's Iron man 2. I think it's Iron man 2, sorry when Rhodey and Tony Stark are flying around because, like those evil Iron man robots are taking over.
Speaker 1:That's War Machine you're talking about. Yeah, war Machine.
Speaker 2:Okay, iron man robots are taking over and that's a war machine you're talking about. Okay, but iron man saves a kid from getting blasted because he has an iron man mat, the kid. Yeah, I do remember, yeah, so it has been confirmed by ken feige that that was actually peter parker okay, that's like marvel said that yeah, yeah, it wasn't confirmed at the time, but now that marvel is working with sony, like yeah, yeah, we can say that now.
Speaker 1:Like is there any way to like tell that when watching the movie, though?
Speaker 2:no, no, it's just the fun. Of marvel said it though.
Speaker 1:Yeah, oh yeah, that's pretty cool it's very cool now when I re-watch that, I'll look for that exactly who is the leader of shield maria hill that's uh, that's mr.
Speaker 2:Nick Fury, that is right, t'challa is the king. Of what nation? Have you seen Black Panther?
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:T'Challa is the king of what nation? Staten Island, the Hill, the US or Wakanda?
Speaker 1:Wakanda yeah, that was very easy. I didn't really like Black Panther.
Speaker 2:Is it because you know? Next question what is what sorry name? Four avengers wiped out when thanos snaps his fingers in infinity war uh, let me see if I can do this without multiple choice I didn't have a multiple choice either way okay, four of them that got wiped out. That would be mr and one't be avengers, I mean like any superheroes in that movie.
Speaker 1:It doesn't have to be the exact avengers okay, um, man, I'm drawing a blank, I don't know. Um, I remember ant-Man. He wasn't wiped out but he was inside of the thing, so he was gone. But as far as wiped out man, spider-man, he got wiped out.
Speaker 2:Okay, who was with Spider-Man? That got wiped out.
Speaker 1:Oh man, who was with Spider-Man? I know it wasn't Tony. I know it wasn't Captain America.
Speaker 2:That's not the question.
Speaker 1:I know it wasn't Haw hawkeye. I know it wasn't black widow. I know it wasn't the hulk. I know it wasn't. I think you stumped me, rob just look behind my shoulder.
Speaker 2:Who's on my, who's on the wall?
Speaker 1:oh yeah, the um chris pratt got wiped out he got wiped out. Uh, man, rob I, you're killing me small, I can't do it there was um falcon, winter soldier, black panther, um I see like I just didn't enjoy black panther that much, so I guess I didn't even notice that's freaking wild dude who sells vibranium to ultron.
Speaker 2:Is it clow, low-key vision or tony start? Oof he was also on Black Panther, which is probably why I don't remember him oof. Yeah, see it's Clow what is the name of Tony's daughter Hannah, morgan, pepper or Scott? Morgan it's Morgan list, all the Avengers that can lift Thor's hammer, not a multiple choice.
Speaker 1:Captain America. There's two more that I've seen yeah that's all I remember.
Speaker 2:Is captain america well, thor thor can lift thor's hammer I never saw that.
Speaker 1:When did he lift his hammer? Thor yeah, oh well, thor, oh well obviously obviously thor can lift it.
Speaker 2:I wasn't including him thor captain, america and vision oh, I don't remember vision doing it he does it in age of ultron, where he hands his hammer to thor, and that's how he gets thor's trust wasn't a big fan of vision he for someone with his abilities? You think he could fucking take a look like he was stronger adventure than what he just had no personality because he wasn't human yeah, I guess.
Speaker 1:I guess it was a good, a good depiction. That's exactly what you're supposed to be like who is the guardian of the Soul Stone?
Speaker 2:There's no multiple choice for this one.
Speaker 1:I don't know that little thing's name, the thing that was the tour guide.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:Yeah, no, I don't remember that thing's name.
Speaker 2:He was the villain. No, he was the villain in Captain America, the first one.
Speaker 1:Ooh see, that was a long time ago. There's no chance of me remembering that it was a red skull. I knew I recognized him.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because he had a red skull.
Speaker 1:His name was Red Skull. Yeah, I got it.
Speaker 2:You didn't say it, nice, I gave you the answer.
Speaker 1:Let's go. Sometimes you just guess.
Speaker 2:And the last question I got for you which Guardians of the Galaxy member joins in the second movie?
Speaker 1:What was the question?
Speaker 2:Which Guardians of the Galaxy member joins in the second movie? Joins what Joins the team.
Speaker 1:What team?
Speaker 2:The Guardians of the.
Speaker 1:Galaxy Like comes in the second movie. Yeah, the little teenage Groot. No, because he came at the end of the first one or I right? No, was it, it was the blue guy no oh, you're talking about a new person. Oh uh, the person that can feel feelings.
Speaker 1:The thing with the antennas it looks like a tv I'll give you half a point, because telly tubby, her name's what her name's mantis mantis okay yeah, I'll give you half a point for that one she can like, touch you and and depict exactly how you're feeling, and she can put you to sleep and she.
Speaker 2:I think she can manipulate you too right to make you feel certain feelings yeah yeah, you're not on guardians 3 yet man guardians 3 is so fucking good I'm excited for it I want to go back to.
Speaker 2:Um, let's go like, let's start reviewing Guardians of the Galaxy. It's one of my favorite movies of the whole franchise, just because one. I think it's the one that, like Out of every superhero genre, like DC, whoever, I feel like this is the first movie that just has fun. Throughout the entire movie. It makes it seem fun. It's not so serious, it doesn't take itself too heavy. I was singing along with a lot of these songs. The crowd was having a good time. They made you laugh a shit ton. It was a great movie.
Speaker 1:Yeah, the soundtrack is all 80s classic rock.
Speaker 2:Which makes sense, because that's when he got taken away from Earth.
Speaker 1:Yep, and he gets taken away from earth. All he uh has with him is his walkman right, so he just listens to that playlist constantly in space which you think you would get sick of after like the eighth time listening to it.
Speaker 2:I can't talk because I listen to the post malone's new album like once a day still. Yeah, james gunn wrote and direct this movie. Do you know james gunn is?
Speaker 2:nope, never heard of him he's the one who did, directed and wrote all three avengers movies. He's currently the head of dc right now, so he's coming out with a new superman movie pretty soon. He has a lot of stuff rolling for him. You might know him best as you, as his fan, might know him best as he directed the scooby-doo movies, the live action ones, in the early 2000s never seen any of those get the fuck out of here never, man never I don't know such under a rock.
Speaker 1:I don't know anything about scooby-doo.
Speaker 1:He solves mysteries, right shut the fuck up I'm not even playing with you, dude, I didn't watch. I didn't watch a lot of that when I was growing up. I just missed it. That's why I have to watch it now. Scooby-doo I get scooby-dooDoo. I've seen Scooby-Doo. I don't think you have. Yeah, there's like bad people and then they go like around the mansion, door to door running, and then they all run through doors and then they get the bad guy and Scooby-Doo can talk and he likes Scooby snacks and Shaggy is just like funny velma's short and that's not, what then?
Speaker 1:there's a tall white guy and yeah, man, they're.
Speaker 2:They grew in that, in that van name me five rookies in the nfl right now five rookies in the nfl right now?
Speaker 1:uh well, obviously we'll go caleb williams. We'll go jayden daniels drake, may, okay, we'll go spencer rattler it's kind of wild, like you could.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you could do that no problem yeah we live in such different worlds I couldn't name you one um, but gardens of galaxy. It's, it's, fucking amazing guy james is amazing. He's felt personally like invested in this movie. He this is like such a shocker, especially for you not knowing this when you go in. But, like everyone, thought guardians of galaxies were going to fail, like if they thought they thought this was gonna be marvel's first failure, because no one has really heard of the team. They were in the comics for years these were all brand new.
Speaker 1:They were. They weren't in any of the previous movies. Any of them exactly or mentioned a different storyline.
Speaker 2:Everyone thought this was gonna fail, and it turns out to probably be the most surprising profit that marvel has ever made to this date. I feel like they become one of the most popular of the whole franchise. In fact, I would probably easily say like this is the best marvel movie one of the columns in the building for marvel I could see that best marvel movie. It doesn't surprise me it's my top five, but I don't see the best I think it's the best, in my opinion guardians 3 is the top 10 for me.
Speaker 1:Yeah, um yeah, I'll talk a little bit about guardians 2 in this because, like, I've seen that as well as just far as the character development and stuff like that. But but Guardians 3, I'll probably watch that within the next week that's coming up and I am excited for that one.
Speaker 2:Yeah. So with that being the surprise from Marvel, I think the soundtrack won was in the top 200 Billboard Awards for the longest too, which is breaking records, because only a handful of movies with no original music did that it's cool how, with the music too, they uh, they'll include along there because this movie's a lot of adventure.
Speaker 1:It's a lot of adventure in this movie, so, along the adventure, that while they're playing a song, they'll show like b-roll of them move, moving on the way there to wherever they're going and, uh, they'll be like dancing. He'll be like dancing along to the music. You know what I'm saying?
Speaker 2:it's just funny so a lot of the movies. When they film a movie they'll go back and add music to the scenes, like they'll just pick whatever's popular and whatever they get approved and whatever they feel is right. But james gunn had this music before he even started shooting, like he wrote the songs into the movie and he's done that with all three of them. There's even um, a guardians of the galaxy holiday special I forgot to tell you about. Like it's just like a short hour.
Speaker 1:I think I was looking through the list of future movies. I saw that on there that was just pure fun.
Speaker 2:There's like no villain in that movie, it's just oh nice spending time with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Speaker 1:Christmas is coming up, man.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's a perfect.
Speaker 1:Christmas. I'll watch that in about a month.
Speaker 2:Yeah, fuck. Yeah, it has nothing to do with the MCU or the timeline, so you can really watch that anytime.
Speaker 1:I'll save that one as a little treat for myself. Merry Christmas, Glenn.
Speaker 2:And then going back to this movie, what was your first reaction to it?
Speaker 1:like I think you texted me almost immediately saying you loved it I think I texted you maybe like 40 minutes in and like this is my favorite one so far it was just awesome.
Speaker 2:This is definitely what set off chris pratt's and I super I super followed what was going on from the beginning.
Speaker 1:Sometimes I have to ask questions what's going on? But with this one I totally understood from the beginning and was invested right away and was rooting for the guy.
Speaker 2:For those who don't know, this movie is about a group of misfits in outer space who end up working together on the same job to get this Infinity Stone. And they end up making together on the same job to get this Infinity Stone, and they end up making friendship out of it. Chris Pratt was super unknown. Well, he wasn't super unknown. He was also starring in Parks and Rec, the TV show, the hit TV show. He's also had smaller movies like this, but this is his first leading big role. I feel like that set him off.
Speaker 1:This is my first time seeing him. No, it's not. It is man. I'm telling you what's all he's has he been from?
Speaker 2:I know the name because I hear jurassic world movies never saw any of those he's done a lot of things.
Speaker 1:You said uh, parks and rec. I don't I know what that is, but I've never seen it it's a funny show.
Speaker 2:He's pretty funny in it. Um, I got some lists of random facts here too. We'll go through about grunge galaxy. Uh, dave batista, who plays drax in the movie, you know he's a wwe star, right yeah, when dave batista found out that's dave batista.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he's the blue guy the yeah, bluish gray guy. I didn't know that was him.
Speaker 2:Yeah, dave batista found out he got the role of drax. He broke down in tears and overjoyed with marvel and um. He even hired an acting coach on the side. I'm not. He even personally hired an acting coach for the shop what's uh drax's deal?
Speaker 1:he's super honest or he just doesn't literal.
Speaker 2:He's completely literal, like references or anything like that, or metaphors that go completely over his head yeah, he'll like tell people stuff that maybe you wouldn't tell them okay like not, you know what I'm saying, uh ben diesel voice grew. I don't know if you knew that either no, I didn't van diesel recorded all his lines in several different languages van diesel.
Speaker 1:He's from the pacifier yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's not the most people know him from the fast and furious, but yeah no, I've never seen any of those. I know him from the pacifier the pacifier that's how I know vin diesel uh, he recorded his all those lines in several different languages, so it can be really him through um throughout the world russian mandarin, spanish, portuguese, german and french I think that's pretty.
Speaker 1:He says I am grew in all those languages.
Speaker 2:Wow, that's cool so this I think this is personally going over the top, like just being freaking extra for me but the entire like for like a month or two he would walk around in giant stilts and even as he recorded those lines, just so he can feel like group, I was like that's kind of stupid that is very stupid. There's no way he actually did that he did this footage of him walking around on there no, um, that's cap.
Speaker 1:I have a question go for it um chris pratt. How big, how much of a star is he compared to other people, like compared to now he's one of the a-listers biggest a-listers like comparable. Let's say, like jake gyllenhaal I just seen, I didn't know he was in this marvel stuff. I seen him last night on, was it?
Speaker 2:spider-man yeah, but jake gyllenhaal is only in the one movie but I'm saying as a celebrity, is he on his level? I would say so yeah definitely so he's bigger than glenn Powell, who you know.
Speaker 1:He's yeah from Twisters.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Okay, I just wanted to.
Speaker 2:He's big and he's still pretty big. Compare. He's a voice actor. He's voiced Mario. He voiced Garfield recently. He's been doing a lot of voice acting. Garfield, lasagna, garfield, yeah, he came out earlier this year, chris Pratt speaking of apparently apparently stole his star lord costume from the set for the sole purpose to visit children sick children in the hospital that's sick yeah, a lot of celebrities do this like um, I think that's pretty sick.
Speaker 1:If I was fucking on my it's like a real suit to actually the start yeah, from the movie what he could just be starlet whenever he wants.
Speaker 2:That's cool yeah, I know, like chris evans, chris hemsworth, on the same thing which one would you want to take? Oh, that's a good one, a good costume.
Speaker 1:You could take one, no, but the actual suit. You get all of its abilities and everything oh, I mean iron man, seems like.
Speaker 2:Oh, no, because chris pratt doesn't have the ability, but like just let's imagine he did he's a bunch of gadgets, though I mean obviously still like the iron man suit seems pretty sick spider-man will be fun yeah, that's tight as fuck. I do, dude, do you want people seeing all that?
Speaker 1:dude? Yeah, because I get his rocking body and abilities too you get their body too, yeah okay. Yeah, I guess this question just turned into which superhero?
Speaker 2:which you want to be.
Speaker 1:I would definitely be thor, though yeah, me too, I want to be fat Thor, though.
Speaker 2:You're halfway there with your beer, guy.
Speaker 1:Let's get it.
Speaker 2:James Gunn stated that Chris Pratt's audition Was so good that he was willing to Offer him the role, but Rather him getting in shape. James Gunn joked that he was willing to CGI a six pack on him.
Speaker 1:He's not very in shape. I noticed thatn joked that he was willing to CGI a six-pack on him. He's not very in shape. I noticed that throughout the movie. He's a little chubby.
Speaker 2:If you see him in Parks and Rec he is pretty chunky, but he lost 60 pounds in six months For this role.
Speaker 1:I noticed that when I was watching this I'm like this guy's got tits, but I think that's part of his charm, though. This he's got tits.
Speaker 2:But I think that's part of his charm, though, like he's like this guy's got tits, he's supposed to seem like an average guy, almost in the kind of movie you know. That's what.
Speaker 1:I assumed that's why that's kind of I think that's kind of why I asked me asking what level is Chris Pratt on. I was kind of asking like, is Chris Pratt hot? Is he like one of those? He guy you know, I'm saying like the like. Who are the like, the hot famous actors?
Speaker 2:you tell me, what do you think is hot?
Speaker 1:I don't really know people's names, but you wouldn't know from all right, you want to list the ones that I would think is matthew mcconaughey hot he is.
Speaker 2:I mean, he's older, he's not in a lot of stuff anymore, but he's still an a-lister, I would say.
Speaker 1:Who are the hot actors? What do you?
Speaker 2:see, I don't want to talk about this anymore. Come on, man. Bradley Cooper voices Rocky. I don't know if you knew that.
Speaker 1:No, I was going to ask who's the raccoon. It's Bradley Cooper, bradley Cooper.
Speaker 2:Bradley Cooper, yep. And they said that he was paid more. I was going to ask who's the raccoon. It's Bradley Cooper, bradley Cooper, bradley Cooper, yep.
Speaker 1:And they said that he was paid more. Who's bigger, him or Chris Pratt? Who's hotter?
Speaker 2:I don't know who's hotter. Bradley Cooper. Bradley Cooper said that he was paid way more for voicing Rocket than his movies Silver Linings, playbook and the Hangover combined.
Speaker 1:Wow, wow.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he got that Marvel money. Now I can only imagine what he was paid for in Guardians 3. That's sick.
Speaker 1:It's funny, I've been watching Entourage lately, rewatching Entourage. You ever watch Entourage.
Speaker 2:No.
Speaker 1:It's about this actor, anyways. He does movies and stuff and you get to see the behind the scenes about him requesting, like, his quote for his movie and then that movie does well. So then your next movie you make so much more and then you like see the lifestyle they live. Dude, that'd be sick yeah just like make all that money to act.
Speaker 2:It'd be awesome it's like bradley cooper in this or something. Why did you bring this off?
Speaker 1:I was just thinking about the amount of money.
Speaker 2:Zoe Saldana plays Gamora. She's been in a lot of movies. I'm trying to think of something. You might have seen her. She was the main blue chick in Avatar.
Speaker 1:Really, that's Avatar right there.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Huh, I did not know that. Well, I guess, but in Avatar she's blue and here she's green, so like very unrecognizable.
Speaker 2:She's green, so very unrecognizable.
Speaker 1:Yeah, is she black, she's black, okay.
Speaker 2:She's very hot.
Speaker 1:Nice, nice.
Speaker 2:But she nearly broke Chris Pratt's ribs while filming. I think that's the scene when they first met, Because during rehearsals he always wore padding over his abs or his stomach and he wanted to make it feel authentic on the actual day but he didn't tell anybody and she fucking almost broke his ribs and for the rest of the filming he said he had a whole big-ass bruise on him. In Avatar her character was so nice and in this one, she was so mean, she was mean, she was pretty mean to the main guy.
Speaker 1:That's kind of how people from her planet are, though right or whatever species she is.
Speaker 2:I don't know. They haven no. Thanos is from time, but she's adopted. Okay, that's right I wouldn't say it dots. She's more like fucking kidnapped against her will though yeah, she's adopted okay um, chris pratt cites his heroes han solo and marty mcfly as influences for his character in this one, and knowing that, I could totally see it. Uh, marty mcfly is from back to the future.
Speaker 1:I don't know if you ever seen those I've never seen them, but I know the reference. I know that from the shoe world.
Speaker 2:Han Solo too, Han Solo.
Speaker 1:I've seen all the Star Wars during COVID.
Speaker 2:Oh, did you? You're better than me because I haven't seen most of them, me and Brandon not a fan, to be honest. You know why I couldn't get into the Star Wars?
Speaker 1:It's guy did such a good job about parodying them. I can't, yeah, like I'd rather watch family guy. You know, even those episodes I'll kind of skip those when I get to them. Really, yeah, I I think they're funny. I just like don't like star wars, I don't know.
Speaker 2:Just I I've seen them all, but don't not a fan um, going back to the day patista took the artist makeup artist nearly five hours to do his makeup and apply 18 prosthetic tattoo pieces on Batista. Chris Pratt wants to reveal he was jacked. Yeah, yeah, chris Pratt wants to reveal. During the process, batista stood there the entire time for five hours holding onto rails with little tennis balls on them, with no complaints.
Speaker 1:That's because he got that Marvel money. Yeah, no complaints.
Speaker 2:Eventually towards the end of the filming.
Speaker 1:You could do whatever you want to they got the process down to three hours?
Speaker 2:I don't know, because you sat there standing for five hours while people putting makeup and like painting you dude, I'll suck my dick from the back for that marvel money I don't think anyone's asking you to. After filming finished, james gunn gave dave batista a drax lunchbox to add to his collection for his vintage lunchboxes. Meanwhile, Bautista gave Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana some custom WWE championship belts. That's pretty sick right.
Speaker 1:Hell yeah, I didn't realize that was Dave Bautista.
Speaker 2:You know who almost played Drax instead of Dave Bautista?
Speaker 1:Who.
Speaker 2:Jason Momoa.
Speaker 1:Huh.
Speaker 2:Aquaman.
Speaker 1:That's funny because Dave Bautista is's bald, but Jason Momoa has luscious hair, doesn't he?
Speaker 2:I would assume he would have to shave or wear a bald cap, because his character in the comics is bald too. I think Bautista had hair too before this role.
Speaker 1:I think Jason Momoa would have been good too, but no complaints.
Speaker 2:I think so, but this's definitely set batista's career off, because he's definitely an a-list actor now. He's very good who is?
Speaker 1:batista is he? Batista yeah what else is he in?
Speaker 2:he was at um not get the cabin. Recently he just came out with a movie like a month ago called uh killers, I believe he's a good actor, you think I like, I enjoy watching him. Yeah, that's cool. You know, iron man was originally planned to have a cameo in this movie, but then it was scrapped when Robert Downey Jr said he might not reprise his role as Tony Stark during this time. I'm super glad they didn't do that.
Speaker 1:Have an Iron man cameo in this.
Speaker 2:I wouldn't have minded it.
Speaker 1:I think it would have been cool, but like it's cool when they just all meet, when, when they meet uh yeah, in the avengers right I would say so, yeah, that's when they met.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, end game.
Speaker 1:It's cool watching it was cool enjoying this movie, thinking it's the best one so far, and then watching them meet everybody else.
Speaker 2:That was cool I mean it is a huge deal when all these avengers, like thor finally meets captain america you know all these other adventures in the first adventures movie but then like you're taking guardians of galaxy, captain marvel and ant-man, like also introducing them in this movie, it's something special that happens, I feel like it.
Speaker 1:It was awesome. I wish I experienced all of that in theaters with everybody else.
Speaker 2:It's such a different experience. What's the next one? Captain America is the next big one.
Speaker 1:Yeah, captain America, are you going?
Speaker 2:to come see that with us. Yeah, I mean, I don't know if you'd be caught up in that, absolutely.
Speaker 1:No, I will make that a priority. That's where uh the falcon becomes captain america. Well, yeah, because at the end of uh end game, captain america, he got old and he gave all of his stuff to falcon.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but I would definitely. You would have to watch, like the falcon and when a soldier showed I will by then because like that's like him, okay, okay, okay, yeah yeah, going to watch that, don't. You know that scene in Guardians of the Galaxy where they're explaining the Infinity Stones.
Speaker 1:Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2:James Gunn wrote that in half an hour, which is wild.
Speaker 1:Talking about where each one is.
Speaker 2:Not where they are but what they can do. And what they can do. But that scene is like the probably most important scene of all of Marvel timeline. That's explaining, like laying out with the plans that could happen from infinity war, and jim's gun wrote that in half an hour it was uh a little confusing in the early movies before I saw that I could see that because you're talking about the shatari scepter.
Speaker 1:I'm talking about what is this power coming from it? You're talking about that big, tall thing that spewed out that yellow light from its face and destroyed the city on Earth. I'm talking about how did that happen and why are they protecting that? I'm talking about what's this blue square thing that's glowing Tesseract? I'm talking about what's this Tesseract? So this really all explained that.
Speaker 1:And then I would Google image search a picture of uh, all six infinity stones in their locations and, uh, this cool like chart comes up yeah, there's a lot of cool and I would I would go back to that when I was uh like get when I would get to a new stone in a movie and now that you're like into stuff like we can go to c2e2 next year and check out cool shit like that dude yeah, oh, yeah, I mean, oh, I'm into this now. C2e2 would be a lot more, uh, cool would you do it now, oh?
Speaker 2:yeah, can I wear your captain america you sure can nice um the last fact I got here for you, um adam sandler and jim carrey almost voice rocket instead I am glad that adam sandler didn didn't I can, might see him pull it off of his voices.
Speaker 1:That would have annoyed me a little bit. I wouldn't have liked this movie as much as I do Not a big Adam Sandler fan.
Speaker 2:Really, yeah, I just watched Grown Ups last night.
Speaker 1:Grown Ups is good Because he has some help from everybody else. I guess, and because of what's her name, her luscious bags. She's got her wombo's out in that movie.
Speaker 2:Saws Some hike, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:But, guys, I had so much fun. The soundtrack was dope. I listened to the soundtrack a million times. I think I had the actual album for that record player too, for the first soundtrack cool story too cool story, great acting.
Speaker 2:The visually it was just amazing. The costumes and the outer space sets were freaking amazing. The spaceship Milano you know that's actually the name of this child that crushed Melissa Milano from like an 80s sitcom um milano. You know that's actually named after his childhood crush, melissa milano, from like an 80s sitcom who was melissa milano? She was an 80s sitcom.
Speaker 1:Don't ask me what show who was she in this movie?
Speaker 2:she was. Uh, I mean, that's what he named the ship after the milano oh okay, yeah, I didn't catch that yeah, um, but just some of the fighting scenes. It's so freaking, choreographed so beautifully.
Speaker 1:I'm glad Rocket is Bradley Cooper instead of that would have really killed this movie for me and. I'm just thinking about it in my head. That doesn't even sound like Bradley Cooper no, he definitely.
Speaker 2:You gotta watch some behind the scenes footage with him voice acting how did he do that? That sounds nothing like I can't believe that's him yeah, I'll send you some like videos of him voice acting. How did he do that? That sounds nothing like. I can't believe that's him. Yeah, I'll send you some like videos of him voice acting. And then Vin Diesel You're going to go back and totally see it's Vin Diesel now. So you've seen the second Guardians of the Galaxy, right?
Speaker 1:Yeah, I have.
Speaker 2:Remember at the end, when Yondu's old team gets back together like it's their version of the Guardians of the Galaxy, almost.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and there's that talking head. Yeah.
Speaker 2:You know that's voiced by Miley Cyrus.
Speaker 1:No.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but she does reprise or that character does come back in Guardians of the Three for a little bit. They replace Miley Cyrus though.
Speaker 1:Why, why do they have to do my girl like that?
Speaker 2:I think there was talks into having a spinoff with them, but I don't think it never came about.
Speaker 1:I was a big Miley Cyrus fan.
Speaker 2:I still am.
Speaker 1:She's pretty sick yeah, she's cool yeah she was like my celebrity crush, like growing up.
Speaker 2:Oh really yeah you were in Hannah Montana oh, I loved Hannah Montana dude yeah, you did the best of both worlds oh yeah dude nice, oh yeah, dude nice.
Speaker 1:Uh, do you watch the go to the theaters to see your hannah matana movie probably because you mix it all together and you know that it's the best of both worlds. But back to yondu, though. Yond dude, yondu was turned out to be, uh, one of my favorite characters he's a badass yeah, but but I kind of in this movie I kind of feel like I was not supposed to like him.
Speaker 2:Oh, in the first Guardians.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he was kind of an enemy of Chris Pratt's.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, but they do do him justice in the second one, yeah. Do you like the second one?
Speaker 1:Was it the second one? Was it the second one where you find out that, yeah, where Chris Pratt meets his dad? Yeah, I see that, yeah.
Speaker 2:Were you a fan of the second one? I was. It was very good it was good.
Speaker 1:It was very good. It's why I'm very excited for the third.
Speaker 2:Man, wait until you watch the third one.
Speaker 1:Because you find out that he meets his dad and it turns out his dad is God.
Speaker 2:Kind of yeah.
Speaker 1:And just can create universes and stuff and be God, and he's looking for his son that he abandoned on Earth.
Speaker 2:Yeah, one kid out of like 30 billion that he bought.
Speaker 1:And Yondu was the guy that would go abduct these kids from whatever world that they live in and bring them to the dad for a lot of money and which is awesome, because that's like how you find out, like how his crew became banished because he brought the wrong rule.
Speaker 2:Like don't deal.
Speaker 1:He finds out that god is killing all these kids that don't share the secret power of his godliness you see all those and he's like I ain't bringing no more kids here, and then he keeps this one, and this one turns out to be god yeah, what are the chances?
Speaker 2:the god. So one of the tv shows you're going to be watching is called what if that's an animated show? But it's like what if scenarios in the mcu like one is like what if peggy carter became captain america instead of steve rogers, who that peggy carter, his love interest? It was a female captain, yeah you'll see that in the show, but there's also an episode. What if T'Challa got picked? Up instead of Peter.
Speaker 1:Quill. What, if, who?
Speaker 2:T'Challa got picked up instead of Peter Quill on that night.
Speaker 1:What do you mean? It got picked up by.
Speaker 2:Yondu and his crew. So what if?
Speaker 1:Black Panther was in Guardians of the Galaxy, that'd be pretty sick. Panther was the guardians of the galaxy. That'd be pretty sick. Yeah, I didn't this the reason that I didn't like black panther. It isn't because of you know yeah, it's because this is real life. I just didn't enjoy the story as much and it's like in on earth, right, yeah, was it on earth? Yeah it was, wasn't it?
Speaker 2:but like I mean now that the actor who played black panther is dead in real life, I mean it just, yeah, I remember.
Speaker 1:I remember when he passed away. Uh, I didn't see black panther at that point yeah but, um, I obviously knew it was huge and I heard that he had cancer and he didn't tell anybody.
Speaker 2:That is correct.
Speaker 1:He kept it a secret.
Speaker 2:I think even while he was filming Civil War, his co-stars didn't even know he had cancer.
Speaker 1:That's insane. How do you keep that secret, having that Marvel money, all the eyes on you and stuff? That's insane, that's impressive.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, it's pretty sad.
Speaker 1:It is sad.
Speaker 2:What would you give Guardians of the Galaxy? 1, 1 out of 10? What was some of your favorite scenes? We can talk about the actual movie. What were some of your favorite scenes?
Speaker 1:Some of my favorite scenes.
Speaker 2:Did you get teary-eyed when Doc O'Meara was suffocated and Peter Quill gave him his helmet?
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, ai, when stockham realm was suffocated and peter cool gave him his helmet. Oh yeah, that was a good scene I liked. Uh, when they met, wasn't she?
Speaker 1:they were trying to get the orb yeah and uh, there was this orb that contained an infinity stone, but they didn't know it at the time and it was what it was lost, or that somebody stole it because they were going to try and sell it for money. Because all these people in this show they follow around pretty much scavengers and they just like go around selling stuff or collecting stuff that would have like bounty hunters that scene alone, like where they're fighting for that orb.
Speaker 2:Yeah, um is a great way to introduce all these characters like together. Like you see, like rocket and groot, like they're just two guys like who want bounty money and stuff like that. Gamora is just a hired hand to get what she from her dad, peter cool, is just trying to make a quick buck. You know you meet all these characters in such a great way, but my favorite way you really get uh know about them is when they're doing the police lineup, like getting their their mugshots taken, and they're just describing them a little bit. I think that's a genius way.
Speaker 2:And then you see them, like Peter Quill, flicking this off. You know that's such a cool way to give us an indication of what we're to see.
Speaker 1:When I watched this too, I didn't really realize that Gamora was Thanos' daughter. I mean, I knew she was, but I didn't realize who Thanos was and what he was going to do. But now that I've seen those movies and I know that she's there to try and get the stone, so then he can, like, kill half the world Right Now, I would watch it with a little different interest.
Speaker 2:It's interesting.
Speaker 1:It's going to be exciting to watch this one again when I watch the Marvel movies again.
Speaker 2:Would you get a poster like me?
Speaker 1:Yeah. Fuck, yeah Put it in my garage. Think Would you get a poster like me? Yeah, fuck, yeah, put it in my garage.
Speaker 2:Fuck yeah, think I'm driving around in Melissa Milano's bags. I don't think it's Melissa Milano, anyways, but yeah.
Speaker 1:What would you give this one out of 10? It's a 9.2.
Speaker 2:Solid 9.2. I would 1000% agree with that. It's a good movie, yeah.
Speaker 1:Good adventure, good characters.
Speaker 2:Have you downloaded the?
Speaker 1:soundtrack. Yet A lot of star power? No, I haven't. Oh okay, Is that a thing I should do?
Speaker 2:I think if you like the movie, I like the music. I did like. I mean I knew all the songs before watching this movie, but to see it on display like this was freaking incredible.
Speaker 1:I need to. I need to. Maybe I'll do that on the way home from here. I've been listening oh it's so unlike me, but I'm going through a weird phase. I've been listening to nothing but young boy. You ever listen to young boy? No mba young boy never broke again never heard of it, dude he's all I've been listening to and it's rotting my brain I'm not really into hip-hop like you and brandon rotting my brain. No, I'm a country. It's hard.
Speaker 2:But let's move on to neighbors. You know this is a movie about 2012, starring zach efron and south south rogan, and it's about like this is newly I wouldn't say newlywed couple this married couple with their young child child who's about one years old, maybe even less than that see that a new. They got new neighbors and the house was purchased by a fraternity from a nearby college and they're just terrorizing the neighbors with loud music and obscure pranks and they pretty much go to war to get them kicked out. And you never seen this movie. What was your first reaction? Did you love this movie? Did you like this movie? Did you hate this movie?
Speaker 1:uh, I think me, when I was 19, would have loved this movie and thought it was hilarious.
Speaker 2:I think this came out when we were like I remember it I'm 16 I remember it.
Speaker 1:I've never, I just I just missed me. I just always missed it, and which is crazy because I love seth rogan and have seen everything else. Really, uh, but yeah, I just missed it but did you like it now though? It was okay. It was okay. Yeah, we're watching it.
Speaker 2:Some of the dialogue is kind of cringy and like why would you care about this? You know I love my wife in this movie. I can't remember her name, but she is she actually british?
Speaker 1:yeah, okay, yeah I.
Speaker 2:I had a huge crush.
Speaker 1:I didn't catch until halfway through the movie that she had a british accent. I had to listen carefully, I was like. Halfway through I was like did she have a british accent? Did?
Speaker 2:she have a british accent. She just got one in the middle of the movie yeah, so I had to listen carefully.
Speaker 2:Oh okay, she's okay, she's british there is um a scene real quick where she explains how they met and she was like a foreign scene shooting and she just never went home uh-huh because she met him, yeah, but seth rogan playing like the street guy, like just a business guy, like a family man, it's just kind of weird in itself, right yeah, you ever seen, uh, the movie with seth rogan and the little skinny guy, where the skinny guy gets cancer and 50.
Speaker 1:50 is yeah, just go to love it yeah, yeah, jordan gordon levitt, that's who it is yeah, it's pretty good movie he's kind of. That's kind of a serious movie, right more serious.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you ever see zach and mary make a porno. I have that's a good, that's a good solid cinema, that's good yeah classic film but I found I'm making this movie. Zach efron and seth rogan had to take major pay cuts to get more of a budget for this movie. Zac Efron and Seth.
Speaker 1:Rogen had to take major pay cuts to get more of a budget for this movie, Nice.
Speaker 2:So to see that they're that committed to it. Obviously Seth Rogen was a big producer on it too. I don't think Zac Efron was a producer yet in this kind of movie.
Speaker 1:This is the first collaboration together, oh my gosh dude, I am such an idiot. This whole time I was watching this movie earlier. So Zac Efron's character, the main frat boy I kept thinking that him and Dave Franco were actually brothers in real life. So when they were actors we're talking about how they're going to be brothers for life and all that like talking about what brotherhood is, I was actually thinking, oh, what a cool moment, because they're actually brothers. Because I kept thinking that Zac Efron was James Franco.
Speaker 1:No, but I don't know why I thought that. I just thought that in my head.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah. And you just realized right now yeah, just right now I'm like huh, they're not brothers.
Speaker 2:Right now I'm like, huh, they're not brothers, they don't even look like no. But uh, speaking of james franco, you know the movie. This is the end. Yeah, dave franco was originally going to be in that movie. They wrote a part for him where he gets killed he's not in it no, he gets killed in front of james franco, which is pretty fun.
Speaker 2:Like you said, that's his brother in real life, but seth rogan took that out because, like that's kind of too dark or kind of like I guess he's not in it so, but he um to make up for that fact that he wasn't in that movie he made, he wrote him a giant role, like one of the main character roles for this movie what's he in?
Speaker 1:isn't he in like 21 jump street?
Speaker 2:dave franco. Yeah, he was also in. Now you see me I've never seen that he's in that. Yeah, it's a magician movie.
Speaker 1:You would like that oh, now you see me yeah that's not what I'm thinking of. I'm thinking of the movie with leo, where he's okay, let's catch me if you can catch me if you can. Okay, that's a different movie, okay you know, but he was now.
Speaker 2:You see me. That's a magician movie with jesse he wasn't super bad he wasn't super for like two minutes.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Not even probably like 45 seconds. Yeah, he's been in a handful of movies. He was in a movie I recently seen called like I don't know. He's a good actor, though Some of these pranks that they're playing, pranging each other like Seth Rogen, like with the airbags it's fucking hilarious. Oh yeah, that messed me up. I each other like South Roga, like with the airbags it's fucking hilarious oh yeah, that messed me up.
Speaker 1:I was thinking like oh, what cause? She walks out to her car and sees that the airbags are gone, the steering wheel is all tearing up and there's wires sticking out, I didn't think, oh, her airbag's gone. I'm thinking, oh, they tried to steal her car. I'm so stupid. And then when I see the next scene, he explodes on the airbag at work.
Speaker 2:I was like, oh, that was funny, now I get it yeah, yeah, I mean, who also makes the appearance in this movie? Lisa Kudrow, who plays the principal. She's plays Phoebe on Friends.
Speaker 1:I wasn't expecting to see that that little cubicle that he worked in at his workplace, seth Rogen, that looked kind of like miserable. They made it look like I don't personally that just looks like it would be in the cubicles though. Sick ass cameo, yeah, from the workaholics guys and the lonely island in the beginning yeah, in the beginning of this movie I was thinking the frat house. When they first introduced it I was like, is that the workaholics house? But it's's not.
Speaker 2:Didn't look nothing like it no.
Speaker 1:At first it did, but that wasn't it.
Speaker 2:But yeah, that was funny seeing them. They were in a flashback scene where they invent beer pong, which is like In the 80s, right Cool as 70s or something like that. The coolest backstory that they could star in too the Lonely Islands in here as well is another flashback. I can't remember which one they were.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they were in the one right before them. They were early.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but that's pretty sick that they made cameos too. I think the Lonely Islands opened up the doorway for the Workaholics.
Speaker 1:Yeah, well, I think Lonely Island guys are bigger than the Workaholics guys.
Speaker 2:Personally.
Speaker 1:Maybe not, adam, because of Pitch Perfect. I feel like that was a big movie right, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:But the other guys I feel like do a lot more behind.
Speaker 1:Oh can I come back on here. Can we do pitch perfect? Sure for my next one. Make a note of that I will. Yeah, I want to do pitch perfect because I like that movie. Anna kendrick, like I'd say probably when I was in high school I said m Miley Cyrus was my early one, but Anna Kendrick was my favorite actress, my crush. She's the one that got away.
Speaker 2:She's kind of in the news right now. On Netflix she came out with her first directing movie that she did. She also stars in it too, on Netflix about this horror movie. It's a real life story where this guy would go out in a lore room and then think he's a photographer and he would go out and kill him. He was a murderer, he was a serial killer and she made a movie about him starring it and directing it.
Speaker 1:Is it good?
Speaker 2:It's okay. For being her first director directing film. It was pretty good.
Speaker 1:I would watch it if I had access to a netflix account. If somebody out there wants to slide me that password, I'll watch that yeah good luck with that.
Speaker 2:The so for the baby in this movie. You know that was actually fun outside of twins, which is mostly how kids rolls yeah, I, I did know that.
Speaker 1:I googled uh fun facts earlier.
Speaker 2:I was like oh wow, twins and then the entire crew fell in love with these two twins. In fact, on the last day of shooting, the entire crew showed up on their last day of shooting for the kid, just so they could say goodbye she was a happy baby yeah, and the opening scene where seth rogan and his wife were having sex and she kept turning around and look at them. That wasn't supposed to happen.
Speaker 1:The baby just kept looking at them like that, smiling yeah, we got some good angles of seth rogan right there yes, that's very exposing.
Speaker 2:Well, how far would you go for a joke like that? Would you do that as an actor?
Speaker 1:you're saying yeah oh yeah, I I dude. I would love to be an actor. I think I'd be a pretty good actor. That's like my dream job. But how do you get into that? You can't. That's why I watch Entourage. I just watch Entourage and I just pretend I'm Vinny Chase.
Speaker 2:That would be a cool Halloween costume.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Who are we going to say, though? I don't think I could do that. I could definitely not be Seth Rogen. No they not be, set. No, that scene they showed a lot. Yeah, they did that scene where they had the baby like eating a condom was pretty fucked up, right.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was funny watching them afterwards run through the hospital though, pushing doctors out in the hallway.
Speaker 2:That was funny that was funny how about that party where everyone dressed up as ro De Niro and they're all doing impressions of him?
Speaker 1:Yeah, this movie was just like ugh, but I was just thinking of the scene at the hospital when the doctor comes out and he's like, well, your baby has AIDS Would be a bad way for this to go. That was funny. What the fuck that guy's funny, the comedian.
Speaker 2:Yeah, what's his name? Dude with the curly hair. He is on the show too. I think he's funny.
Speaker 1:He's on Jackass a few times you know, maybe I liked this movie more than I thought I did.
Speaker 2:There is a sequel to it, neighbors 2.
Speaker 1:Yeah, what happens in it? How's?
Speaker 2:this go. Instead of a frat, a fraternity moves in.
Speaker 1:A sorority, a sorority, sorry.
Speaker 2:A sorority moves in and Seth Rogen goes recruit Zac Efron to help him get them kicked out.
Speaker 1:Oh cool. Yeah, it's pretty funny I would have wanted them kicked out as well. That would have been very annoying. Having that right next to you Partying every night.
Speaker 2:Yeah, dude, I can annoying having that right next to you party every night. Yeah, dude, I can totally see you doing the exact same thing as this movie. Like you, would try to go partying with them a little bit at first, to make sure you're all cool.
Speaker 1:That would get that would get old fast though. Yeah, I definitely would go party with them really quick though you would yeah, like what's up, guys? And then just like, man, these guys suck, let's get them out of here.
Speaker 2:I I think it's weird that Seth and his wife just had to have sex with the windows wide open, knowing they're there too. They're stupid as fuck.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:His friends in this movie the divorced friends Comedian. I can't remember his name, the one who breaks his leg at the party. He was funny as fuck in this movie.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they were creeping around the house at the end and he's like a mouse, with his hands like at his chest, creeping around.
Speaker 2:I forgot the fraternity too. They also made their own dildos in this movie to raise money.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:That shit's wild to go buy.
Speaker 1:One dude had just like a foot and a half long cock. It was ended up being used as a weapon in a later scene against a shorter one, but you see his actual cock in this movie. I don't know if you've seen your version no, I didn't see any cocks, like when um the divorced wife.
Speaker 2:She, like the first time they went to go infiltrate. She's like look, look at my new necklace and it's fucking huge that's a, that, that big long schlong that was, that was a real cock I doubt. I doubt it was real, but it was said to be his cock was it really that long?
Speaker 1:yeah, you seen the dildo no I'm saying real life I'm saying in the, in your version of the movie, yeah, in the freaky version I didn't have, I didn't have.
Speaker 2:I'm sure you've seen it, but you didn't. I didn't watch the freaky version if you see seth rogan's ass you've seen it then I didn't see seth rogan's ass like not his ass, but I'm that naked I need to get your version, man yeah, but this was see some mega dongs maybe it's a different movie I was watching I don't know schlongers uh, this movie is hilarious. This movie is hilarious. Just talking about it makes me laugh so much. How did you feel the chemistry between seth rogan and um zach efron together?
Speaker 1:oh, it was good, it was a. It was a. You could tell that they're friends in real life. You could tell they're friends not in real life.
Speaker 2:Um, at the end scene where you know zach efron's um modeling in front of amber combi, first of all, it's a hilarious joke. You don't see them doing it anymore. But seth rogan taking off his shirt and modeling too, that was completely improvised, like zach efron did not know that was gonna happen really yeah, that's funny.
Speaker 1:Uh, I applied to do that job in high school did, you, did, you, did?
Speaker 2:we really have those models in our mall? Oh yeah, I don't remember that.
Speaker 1:And they got all the chicks I applied at the Abercrombie and Fitch at the South Lake. Were you like Abercrombie built? Nah, hell, no, I was fat. They say take your fat ass down to Wetzel's Pretzels, get a pretzel dog, little piggy, that's what they told me, did you? Yeah, yeah, extra mustard on that oh, fuck, yeah, fuck yeah yeah, that was a funny scene, though, and like knowing now that that was just improvised is funny to know in workaholics a lot of their stuff was improvised too.
Speaker 1:And uh, if sometimes they'll say like this scene was improvised, like on their little podcast, and it's funny watching it again and like looking at everyone's little reaction to improvise improvisations because, some of this stuff would be hilarious to make. I mean, I'm surprised.
Speaker 2:Well you and brandon did have a little sketch store that you tried doing kind of yeah it was hilarious.
Speaker 1:It was fun to make. Yeah, yeah, I would love to do that. Dude, I was in a play at wabash what'd you play?
Speaker 1:I was like and I wasn't. It was a short play, like a 10 minute play it was. I took an introduction to acting class and our final at the end was we had to do a play in front of like the whole school in the community and stuff. So it was a big audience actually, but I was an, an old man at it was during an alcohol, anonymous, uh like class, you know I'm saying late at night and I was like an old man who's like I used to be like a really bad alcoholic but I don't drink anymore. I'm like straight on the straight and narrow. I have a family and stuff, but like I used to really tie one on. You know what I'm saying. But I still come to the meetings, just like to make sure I just keep coming you know what I'm saying and to lay some support down for these, for these you're pressing out it was dude and I added emotion and I added like guidance in my voice, like have a video of it somewhere.
Speaker 1:No, they didn't come they didn't care oh, they missed a hell of a performance well, I bet all my boys came what would you, uh, what would you rate neighbors?
Speaker 2:one out of ten uh, this is probably how many booms would you give us?
Speaker 1:this gets three booms boom, boom boom. Three booms Boom, boom Boom.
Speaker 2:Nice, nice.
Speaker 1:I love them, dude. Yeah, and the Rizzler Show me Rizz's face. That's why I was calling Black Panther Black Panther. I thought you just didn't know, that's how the Rizzler says it. He says I'm Black Panther, I'm the quiet one in the night mom said I can't go home to yada dude he's funny. Yeah, dude, he's dude, he's hilarious yeah, then, yeah, they were on.
Speaker 2:They were parodied on snl recently and they were on the jimmy fallon show recently I see him. Yeah, funny as hell um, any movies that you like coming out that you were excited to go see coming out soon.
Speaker 1:I'm not sure what's coming out.
Speaker 2:Remind me, there's Gladiator Wicked.
Speaker 1:I've never seen Gladiator, but I heard Gladiator's awesome.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:When's Gladiator 2?
Speaker 2:In a couple weeks.
Speaker 1:When are you going to see it In a couple weeks? Yeah, so I should watch Gladiator. What's that? Watch that today? I don't know. I'll text you about it once I look it up, because I hear that's an awesome movie and my high school mascot was the gladiators. Nice, before football games we used to do gladiator jacks and before the gladiator jacks ready begin, you know what that is. And then you do jumping jacks and you spell you like do a jumping jack like gee, oh gladiator.
Speaker 1:Yeah long ass word dude hard to spell too, not a?
Speaker 2:word you see everywhere. I was so not a sports guy growing up.
Speaker 1:I play volleyball and golf and stuff like that and then we'd go and lose by 60, and then we'd go and lose by 60 and that's when the city decided to shut down your school.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but yeah, have you been watching any streaming movies lately?
Speaker 1:no, I've been watching a lot of mar, just really football, marvel and uh, the other show I've been watching recently is entourage. You never watched it.
Speaker 2:You should you should really watch it.
Speaker 1:It's on hbo, I gotta get on hbo get an entourage first because it's quick, 20 minute episodes and it's it's movie. It follows the life of movie stars living in la, like the the ups, the downs, the drama they deal with, how it is dealing with like the media. And then it follows their agents around too and you see, like the business and all that it's really interesting current times.
Speaker 2:Have you seen you see the LA 1 World Series?
Speaker 1:I didn't watch a minute of that man.
Speaker 2:Oh, really no opinion about it.
Speaker 1:No opinion, I totally missed it. I was doing other stuff. Okay, I was doing other stuff who?
Speaker 2:are you going for football this year? I mean, you've been kidding me. The Colts, the Colts.
Speaker 1:The Col. Halfway through the season they're 4-4. And we just benched our quarterback for the backup because he's garbage.
Speaker 2:He is.
Speaker 1:I'll say it, I'll admit to it. I've been defending him but he sucks. What about basketball. Yeah, basketball's starting up. I've been watching a lot of basketball. I've been watching basketball a little a lot, but it's it's been getting into the rotation. Just football trumps basketball. But I like the bulls, but they also are garbage. Yeah, they're bad. Well, uh, we didn't talk about in the beginning.
Speaker 2:I wanted to talk about the beginning, like uh, we went to a halloween party two together and we fucking ran that party we, we really did dude yeah I felt really good about uh, about our performance yeah, like well, first of all, like I only knew like two people here, you knew nobody here.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that was fun, it was very fun, like we were kind of just mingling we were definitely the life of the party.
Speaker 2:Like we won. We ran the table on beer pong and it was like costumes were sick. It was like all adults too. Yeah, it was a. It was a adult party yeah, I guess so yeah, so uh, we went as jesus christ and I was the devil yeah, I was the lord and savior jesus christ and I was satan, but I don't know. Dressing up as a costume, would you dress up as a superhero now? Would you cosplay?
Speaker 2:uh, I'll cosplay halloween you could easily probably make you that um I'll definitely cosplay, but halloween I I don't not a superhero.
Speaker 1:That's gotta be something else something yeah, something, something. I should have been the rizzler this year. I should have. I would have cut my hair. You would have shade too. Yeah, I would have for the Rizzler this year.
Speaker 2:I should have. I would have cut my hair, you would have had a shade too, yeah, I would have For the. Rizzler, you would have done that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, bro, that would have been hilarious. I would have got the shirt the blue one, because they sell shirts I want to get my own.
Speaker 2:You should have just sold it by Panther. I like this shirt.
Speaker 1:It's like dude, it's a fire shirt and they have one.
Speaker 2:It's a zincan and it says Rizzler on it or something well, glenn, thanks so much for coming on, like it's been a minute since you've been on, and dude, yeah, you're not stopping anytime soon, dude, I love coming on, man.
Speaker 1:I told you, next time I come on I want to do Pitch Perfect well, dude, should we do like all three of them? So is Chris Pratt hotter than like Chris Hemsworth. Who's Chris Hemsworth?
Speaker 2:Is that Thor? That's Thor.
Speaker 1:No right, Because I'm looking up hottest actors.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:Who's Jensen Ackles?
Speaker 2:Let me see, I don't know.
Speaker 1:Jensen Ackles, they say is the hottest right now.
Speaker 2:I don't know who that isckles, they say, is the hottest right now. I don't know who that is. I probably know who it is.
Speaker 1:Jared Podelke.
Speaker 2:I don't even know what site that you're on.
Speaker 1:I don't really recognize any of these Ryan Reynolds.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he's pretty cool.
Speaker 1:Is Chris Pratt hotter than Ryan Reynolds?
Speaker 2:Nah, what about Michael?
Speaker 1:B Jordan. No, that's Creed.
Speaker 2:uh, nah, what about michael b jordan.
Speaker 1:No, that's creed and that's in black panther right yeah who's? Chris evans, that's captain america is he's not hotter than chris evans right?
Speaker 2:definitely not that one either, keanu reeves is hot I don't think he's very hot. Oh wait, yeah, then. Yeah, I'm sorry. You think he's hot. No, no, no, no. I'm not a big fan of Keanu Reeves, honestly.
Speaker 1:You don't think he's that hot dude?
Speaker 2:I don't think he's that hot, no, he looks Winter Soldier.
Speaker 1:Really, that's Bucky. Yeah, he's hot. He's pretty cool. Okay, is Chris Pratt hotter than Bucky?
Speaker 2:I would say so.
Speaker 1:I would too.
Speaker 2:I don't like to play this game anymore. All right Thank you, Glenn, for coming on. Thank you for having me on, man. Thanks for coming on.
