excuse me, is anybody sitting here? Sorry, this is taken. Sorry, can you believe this is my last episode of 2024?
Speaker 2:I'm excited for you, bro. I'm super excited.
Speaker 1:It's been a big year it's been a big year for both of us. Actually, um, we, you know, on top of the doing the movie podcast thing, you know, I improved the movie podcast. I got this new setup. Um, improved the movie podcast, I got this new setup. We went to Nashville together. That was pretty exciting. We got work. We're working together now. We've been to several mini trips. We went to Disney a couple times. You started your new podcast and it's been a pretty busy 2024.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I'm excited for 2025.
Speaker 1:2025, what's going on? Let's take a look in the 2025 real quick. We'll put a pause on the movie stuff for a second and just talk about our personal goals okay, because I have a lot, not a lot.
Speaker 2:One is obviously health goals but one is something, though one is something one is something I do want to up my fashion.
Speaker 1:Um, you look good, bro, you look good too. For those who don't, who just want listening, we accidentally matched, completely matched accidentally, and it's not the first time that we've done this no, it's not. No, I've done this before with several friends and people are starting to accuse me for stealing their swag I like it though now, but um, you're starting a new podcast. You're only like four or five episodes deep in four episodes, so it's still brand new.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah um, I listened a couple episodes with you and you have some pretty interesting guests, okay. Um, what are some goals for next year?
Speaker 2:um, so obviously we could sit here and talk about goals for a really long time, but I'll just give you like a couple um on your podcast yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:So my one of my goals is obviously just to be consistent with the podcast, uh, find ways to make it grow and then, yeah, just continue to be better in that field. And then another thing is that I really want to be we both talked about this a lot we just want to be healthier people. I think the older that we get, we just have to be healthier, you know, like be physically active it's definitely hitting me.
Speaker 2:I didn't tell you this this morning, but like I'm scared, I'm gonna get gout soon we've been talking about gout, diabetes, high cholesterol, so it's like I think the older that you get, like now for real, like that we're both getting close to 30, like obviously me closer, um, but obviously no, but yeah. So I think one of the things that the things that I'm working on is, like my podcast, uh, just be consistent with all type of content creating and then my health a lot.
Speaker 1:How about you. Um, yeah, definitely the health is one big thing. I know I started therapy this year, which has been a tremendous help. Um, it's very cool. I recommend everybody. I did start and finish a different podcast this year with greg. I know he's gonna come on the podcast pretty soon it was a great experience, you know.
Speaker 1:I got him into the podcasting world, which is he was very grateful for, um, but I do want to start producing other people's podcasts, so if anyone's interested in signing a podcast, just hit me up and I'll be definitely no, yeah, I think that's cool how you helped him, because you know, you started out of nothing and now you're able to help someone else with the knowledge yeah gained exactly, exactly.
Speaker 1:So that's something I do want to like start maybe a side business of like, if anyone wants a producer or podcast, I could definitely help you with that. I helped you with your setup and get everything going.
Speaker 2:It's so hard bro.
Speaker 1:Don't go out with the first episode because I don't know what happened to that one.
Speaker 2:Dude the first episode. Like I said, there's so many technical difficulties. Cameras, light, everything. It's actually so much work and I'm super impressed off of everything. Your setup and then you're used to cameras. I think it's super cool.
Speaker 1:You kind of inspired me to do all this yeah, I'm definitely looking into a third camera, um, and if there's any video editors out there want to hit me up too, that's the hardest for that.
Speaker 1:The hardest part is that the video editing yeah, editing is there's reasons why I come up with like two clips yeah, like every other month, I feel like it's so time consuming and I'm sure there's an easier way than what we're both doing it. Oh yeah, 100%. But yeah, we're learning as we go. You're going to actually do a podcast convention in a couple of weeks.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so I think we should talk about that when I have you on as a guest and then we can share about our goals then and go more to detail about everything.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, but that's something exciting, I think. Conventions and festivals is something I'm definitely gonna try doing next year. There's one, I have a festival. I have my eye on the movie festival. You said yeah, there's a movie festival in texas. I believe it's in texas I can't remember what it's called, but it's like around september, so I'll keep an eye out for that dude, you have to do it, you have to yeah, there's just contact gaming up and, like you know, I'll try to make more reels more yeah I'm not at your level making dancing tiktoks, no I mean you don't have to make, but it's, everybody has their own little niche.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I do recommend that you kind of show your personality more to your audience and who's to say tiktok's even going to be here? Yeah, that's what I'm saying like I always I've always hated tiktoks, but now it's like I started making some and it's like, oh, you're a little too late for that kind of I mean instagram is.
Speaker 1:It's so much easier to get likes and views on tiktok versus like instagram and for it's the opposite. Really.
Speaker 2:I think I get more views and likes on Instagram than on TikTok.
Speaker 1:That's because you also have a lot more followers on.
Speaker 2:Instagram.
Speaker 1:So get that likes up. But yeah, I invited you on. You came on less than a month ago, I think it was. But we're going to be doing two movies, Movies that came out on Christmas Day. Actually, mufasa didn't come on christmas day but like the christmas season we've seen in that christmas day yeah um, we're gonna talk about lion king mufasa and we're also gonna watch carry on the netflix news movies instead of a throwback. I excited to talk about both of these. The lion king was special to you we can talk about that.
Speaker 2:so the lion king is one of my favorite disney movies of all time. I like that's probably the first Disney movie that I ever remember seeing and I like that a lot just because it just reminds me of my childhood and it's just kind of like what reminds you of the love for Disney for me.
Speaker 1:And it's kind of wild because I would say, out of all the Disney movies, this is the most traumatizing one, I mean if you really break it down. Yes, Fernando, I watched the original, like the animated one, um a little bit ago to prepare for this and that scene where mufasa dies like fernando you were like bro, I was here, fernando, I was crying, so I've seen that scene probably like a dozen times. It still hits you know it's on top of that it's. The soundtrack is great dude.
Speaker 2:For me, what hits is the. Can you feel the love tonight? By elton john dude, that makes me like it makes me tear up a little bit loki, yeah, yeah, I love that song a lot can you feel the love tonight?
Speaker 1:I mean, it's funny, it's heartful, it's musical, it's incredible, like that movie is great, and the fact that they made it in 2019, I wouldn't call it live action, but it's photo added. It's incredible. A lot of people didn't want that or didn't really care for that One. It's exactly the same as the animated.
Speaker 2:I heard that the original or the new one is 29 minutes longer. Did you hear about that?
Speaker 1:No.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so the animated one and the new remake it's like one of them is 29 minutes longer. Did you hear about that? No, yeah, so the animated one in the new remake it's like one of them is 29 minutes longer and I can solely see that mostly being timon and puma. Yeah, they add like a little more details and stuff. It's more improvisation from billy eichner and um yeah, seth rogan.
Speaker 1:Um, because I just read it. Like I saw a tiktok right before you got here saying they recorded their lines twice, once with the script and once without a script, so they can improv that's it, yeah, well, I mean, they probably did a couple times yeah they went through the whole movie twice. Um, and it's hard to improvise on the original because you're telling the same story.
Speaker 2:Exactly. You're telling the same this one. They had a lot more room to play with.
Speaker 1:Yeah and like it's all brand new and the fact that they're narrating it we'll get into in a minute, but like I feel like that was such a callback to the lion king one and a half yeah, one and a half. That's such an underrated movie and oh, it's the same story, it's just like whatever timon and puma were doing yeah and I was watching this, like remember when disney channel or not disney channel, just any movies used to have like funny outtakes of like lion king, like he messes up the?
Speaker 2:room. Oh yeah, yeah, they don't do that anymore. No, I mean disney, all those like disney, cartoon network, nickelodeon, all that stuff was way cooler when we were kids yeah I think so at least 100, I mean, I just see, I mean we're not gonna have that animation ever again no the 2d animation, everything's like.
Speaker 1:I kind of miss it because it's like very nostalgic on top of like there's so much pressure for the music yeah, oh yes, lee manuel miranda didn't do moana 2 and that was a big deal.
Speaker 2:A lot of people hated that yeah, he did the music, didn't do it.
Speaker 1:No, okay, he did the music for mufasa too, like this one mufasa, I mean, which I can tell like one of the songs for sure was his, but the other ones, like I, wasn't as impressed. They were good, not memorable yeah uh, one of them like it was like bye, bye. I was like what?
Speaker 2:I don't even remember, because I think that when you watch a disney movie you're excited to remember, like that one song you know, like with frozen, let it go with uh encanto, the bruno song so you're always excited for that one song. It's gonna hit.
Speaker 1:It's weird to see that bruno, like that, was lemon. Well, yeah, yeah he's not for, like I would say, his fast raps, because he did that play too um hamilton yeah and you know, he did encanto, he did um moana, he did a couple, he did a tick, tick, boom.
Speaker 2:We talked about this podcast oh, yeah, yeah, I still have, yet I haven't seen that yet we taught, we reviewed it.
Speaker 1:Oh yes, I did. I'm thinking of a different movie.
Speaker 2:I'm thinking of a totally different movie. I remember. Now I remember, yeah, okay.
Speaker 1:Unless you're lying to me?
Speaker 2:No, I remember, I remember now. I remember now.
Speaker 1:But before we get into that, we're going to talk about also Netflix's new movie with Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman Carry On, carry, um, but to your end and I haven't done this the past couple weeks, but here's some hollywood updates we're going to be going over. Let's hear them uh, this is pretty news. Well, mufasa came out the same day as sonic 4, sonic 3 sonic 3 the day before sonic 3 released, they already announced the sonic 4 that's crazy, bro.
Speaker 2:You ever seen those movies? Never, but I heard they're so good. They're good like for kids, right, great, yes 100.
Speaker 1:Jim carrey definitely would like carry. I've seen sonic 3 in theaters. Jim carrey definitely carried that movie for me. Um, but that I mean it seems like rushed.
Speaker 2:I mean, if I was a kid I would definitely love it is it true that sonic 3 is the best out of the three?
Speaker 1:um that's.
Speaker 2:I saw like a review about that that's kind of hard.
Speaker 1:I lumped them all together, okay yeah, yeah um, but sonic 4 is not to come out till 2026. Which is why? Because the first one came on 2020. It's such short windows that you have three all the money coming out um. Meanwhile, the band man came out 2022. They pushed it back recently.
Speaker 2:Yesterday we were at work and you were out 2022 they pushed it back recently, bro, they pushed it back again. It's a 2027 october of, that's like the end of the year, so long from now, we might be married by then. Yeah, just kidding, yeah anyways.
Speaker 1:Um, but people are thinking the reason they pushed it back? Because you know James Gunn's coming out with Superman soon and all that new franchise they're thinking about. Robert Pattinson's gonna be part of that world now really, which is kind of weird because they already set a tone in reality for the Batman 2 for the. Batman and some you have like shows like the Penguin that just came out too. It's a totally dark tone. It sounds dope actually, and I feel like you would hear references to superman or some because there's known superheroes in the world already yeah anyways.
Speaker 1:Number two I got blake light blake lively accuses. It ends co-star justin baldoni of sexual harassment and is suing him. You haven't seen that movie yet right, I have not seen the movie, but you you texted me one night like should I watch carry, watch, carry On, or it Ends With Us. I was like Carry On, it's an easy answer, dude, it Ends With Us is just a chick flick.
Speaker 2:I just heard so much about the other one that I was like I think I should watch it. And then like, I like.
Speaker 1:Is it considered a chick flick? It's not a rom.
Speaker 2:I didn't even know that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, who opens up a flower shop in 2023?.
Speaker 2:Literally for real.
Speaker 1:And it's a good movie. I'm not hating on it. It's a bit powerful movie. Well, all this shit came out about Blake Lively saying she was kind of like a bitch and very insensitive to the topic of domestic violence.
Speaker 2:I mean, I don't know much about the topic, but I just think I don't know. I think that's kind of crazy. But I just think I don't know, I think that's kind of crazy. But now you're suing somebody for sexual harassment.
Speaker 1:One this movie was probably filmed like two or three years ago. Two I mean.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and I'm sure there's, or maybe they have. Why wouldn't you say something right?
Speaker 1:away like when you were all those accusations coming against you.
Speaker 2:Maybe they have contracts that they have to follow and maybe the contract's expired, or something like that.
Speaker 1:You know, this is Ryan Reynolds reynolds's wife too, right yeah? That's crazy and I feel like I don't know. Do you think it's gonna hurt his? Just about the only women love no, no, no, no, oh, ryan, yeah oh, I think I meant just about only.
Speaker 2:I was like just about, don't you know, because women love him. Uh, ryan reynolds, I don't know. I feel like I'd be kind of insecure about my wife.
Speaker 1:I mean, there's rumors that they have marital problems, but I kind of doubt that yeah but like it's gonna be weird, like you go into interviews you know what's gonna come up and then I'm like bro, talk about me, talk about me, yeah, yeah, uh are you a big fan of stranger things.
Speaker 2:I've only seen a couple episodes of the first season. Don't tell me they're gonna come out another one yeah, it's the last season.
Speaker 1:Season five just finished production dang people, people really like that show it is a good show, don't get me wrong. It's very bingeable, it's nostalgic for people who grew up in the 80s and 90s, it's very sci-fi-y and it's very dark. It's a perfect Halloween kind of show, which I would assume. That's when it's going to come out, maybe May.
Speaker 2:That would make sense.
Speaker 1:I did research to look it up, but I didn't.
Speaker 2:We had our first gun, which includes characters like green lantern, hawk, girl, metamorpho and crypto the dog you've seen the crypto, the dog you ever seen?
Speaker 1:that don't know, crypto looks cool, that's very animated, like um he has a cape okay and it just doesn't look like it flows like accurately, but like it's a fucking dog and a cape you know you're gonna be happy about it either way. That sounds dope I mean james gunn is coming out. He's definitely making an event, but what I'm noticing more with his projects, because he's just having animated TV show that comes out that's going to be connected to the original the whole franchise. It's all labeled James Gunn Presents or James Gunn Story, or directed by James Gunn. He's definitely making his world.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Which is wild, because you're definitely putting your name, you're betting on yourself by doing this. He's very talented. He's brought us Guardians of the Galaxy. He brought us fucking Scooby-Doo.
Speaker 2:Oh, really yeah, the live action early 2001.
Speaker 1:That's pretty cool, both of them. Actually, he's very talented and I'm excited to see Crypto and Superman. Really, henry Cavill, I loved Henry Cavill. I hated the script. We need something like this right now.
Speaker 2:Superhero wise I'm excited because I used to watch that show. Crypto the super dog, remember yeah, that's pretty cool.
Speaker 1:I loved that show. Yeah, yeah, yeah, uh. Jack black and paul rudd are reuniting for a reboot of anaconda oh, but jack black though I know I don't know how I feel about that he just came out. He's coming out with uh minecraft yeah, and um, because I see all. We see him as like comedic you know, same thing with paul rudd.
Speaker 2:He just came out. He's coming out with Minecraft, yeah, and Because I see, I always see him as like comedic, you know.
Speaker 1:Same thing with Paul Rudd.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so is this going to be like one of those like I?
Speaker 1:kind of hope it isn't Paul Rudd. I mean we've seen Jack Black do like King Kong, where he was serious in that.
Speaker 2:Is it going to? Now that you're talking about that cast, I kind of feel like it's going like the rock kevin hart type thing. You know how they're like, not serious, what's that?
Speaker 1:movie that just came out, the jumanji yeah, is it gonna be like that?
Speaker 2:I hope not.
Speaker 1:They haven't released any details or plots I mean, I'm not even 100 sure it's gonna be like directly because I like the anaconda movies a lot with um j-lo and ice j-lo yeah so I don't know. I mean, they did mention that they're gonna be fighting big ass snakes, oh shit. So I'm curious, like I don't want. I mean they did mention that they're going to be fighting big ass snakes, oh shit. So I'm curious, like I don't want to make it too cartoony, I don't want it to be Like a family friendly you want it to be kind of like, not that there was a scary movie, but kind of just like, oh shit yeah.
Speaker 1:Give me, make me afraid to go into a lake or something. Yeah, as a matter of fact, because you come across it on Twitter like a fucking snake the size of an SUV and shit.
Speaker 2:Oh, you know, I hate snakes. Would you rather see a snake on a plane remade? I've never seen that one either, but I'd rather see Anaconda, anaconda.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:How about you?
Speaker 1:I don't know Anaconda was pretty, but there's already remakes, isn't there? I don't know ifaconda was pretty but there's already remakes, isn't there? I don't know. There's remakes or spinoffs. There's attempts to remix. Yeah, but yeah, but jack black and paul I love those two individually and they're gonna get people in the seats. It could be a good movie. It could be. I just be hating on it. I don't know what I'll see. Make my decision once the trailer comes you're gonna watch it either way, yeah, um malcolm in the middle.
Speaker 1:Revival set at disney plus with frankie muniz, brian cranson and jane the mom, returning for four episodes what about was his little brother dewey? I heard he's. I mean they haven't announced that all of the characters are coming back, but I think it's less likely for him to come back because he said he retired from acting in 2010. Oh, that's a long time, yeah, but this is also something special.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's only four episodes. It could be maybe like he Comes Home or something.
Speaker 1:Was that a big show for you? I loved it.
Speaker 2:yeah, I've probably seen like, if not every episode, like almost every episode. So you're pretty excited about it. Yeah, I'm pretty excited, I'll watch it. I've never seen it.
Speaker 1:I mean I've seen episodes, the whole thing. Yeah, no, I love that show. I think I'm more excited for everybody hates chris the and the cart. They're making a cartoon of it now. Oh really, yeah, with like the mom and dad uh, revoicing their stuff.
Speaker 2:Is it gonna be like for kids or like kind of like, because you know how everybody it's, not that it wasn't for kids, but it was kind of like for all ages we were kids when we were watching, so it's probably for kids. I'm excited for that too, I loved.
Speaker 1:Everybody hates chris funny show Funny show have you watched Abbott Elementary?
Speaker 2:No, but I've heard really good things about it.
Speaker 1:I started watching. It is pretty funny. It's got the office a little bit.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:It's humor, but it's funny. Austin Butler. Austin Butler set to star as Patrick Bateman in American Psycho.
Speaker 2:I don't care about that guy.
Speaker 1:Austin Butler. Yeah, I don't like him. I'm I kind of agree. Yeah, he's a good actor. I loved him in um bike riders. People made a big fuss about him in dune too, which he didn't really do a whole lot. Yeah, um he's overrated oh, would you like him in elvis?
Speaker 2:that's why I hate him, because I just feel like after I know it happens with actors after elvis I just didn't like how he was still elvis but I heard that it happens like with your voice, it's like your personality.
Speaker 1:I mean, if I can get my voice to go that low, you would. That's all. You would hear me talk. I would hate you so much, friends, but I still think I'm cool. It's good for the podcast, but american psycho have you ever seen that movie with christian bale? Nope, it's so. It's. It's good for the podcast, but american psycho have you ever seen that movie with christian bale? Nope it's so it's. It's a crazy story based off a serial, real life serial killer it sounds interesting, maybe I'll watch it so the monsters on netflix?
Speaker 1:the monster, like the first one, was jeffrey epstein epstein jeffrey dahmer, and the second was the men at his brothers the third season is going to be the guy that this guy is based off of.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:With Charlie. I can't remember his name, but he's starred in Sons of Anarchy yeah. So I don't know, I'm curious, I don't know if it's going to be the exact same thing and how they're going to twist it a little doomsday I'm excited for that I'm super excited it's not confirmed he's coming back as captain america or a variant. He came back in deadpool as the human torch. I'd be mad if he comes back as a human torch because, like we already, see that.
Speaker 1:I already saw that and on top of that around, I think the movie's coming out. 2026 I want to say but we're also getting fantastic. Four we're gonna get we're getting our own johnny storm again, yeah next year and the fantastic four is already confirmed to be in that avengers doomsday movie, so like we don't need to exactly I like how marvel's kind of making a comeback, because I feel like it was at its peak like five years ago, yeah, and then it started to slow down and now it's too much content, yeah I, but I see it coming up again.
Speaker 1:I see it coming up again I mean right now what's streaming is the what if series. I don't know if you've seen those on disney plus.
Speaker 2:I've heard a lot about that too it's not a good thing, I know.
Speaker 1:I've heard good things about it really no, and it's more what I think. It is like I feel like marvel got in their idea in their head, like we don't need to make these serious movies, like we need to make them fun, you know, fun for the family and stuff like like all right, take it back a little bit now.
Speaker 2:I don't need to see what if Howard the Duck had a magic game, because after Endgame it's like they just kept releasing shows and like a bunch of stuff and it's like I mean it was cool for the fans, but at the same time it's like and it was cool because it was leading all up to Thanos yeah.
Speaker 1:And they were going to have a big bad villain which going to be king, played by um jonathan majors, but then the whole scandal came out thing and you know he didn't test, well, yeah. And then they're just lost right now, I feel like, and they're using robert downey jr as a big baddie, but then you have all these end credit scenes that don't really need lead to anywhere yeah, so I'm more for, like uh, quality over quantity yeah, and that's what they're trying to get back into good but I mean, the next one is captain america.
Speaker 1:4 okay and I don't know if anthony mackie has what it takes to bring it back no now fantastic 4 might yeah, I mean, that's a lot to live up to.
Speaker 1:I feel like I think this marvel said they're going to come out with only two movies a year now as long as they're strong, I don't care I'm excited for spider-man yeah, I think that got delayed a little bit. Just because they had to re-wrestle some of the script. I heard the Mummy is being rebooted again with Evil Dead Rise filmmaker Lee Cronin. Have you ever watched the Mummy?
Speaker 2:Yeah, I hope it's not cheesy.
Speaker 1:Not Bryan Cranston.
Speaker 2:I can picture him, I just don't know his name.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and they also did it again, I think in 2017, with Tom Cruise. Yeah, I can picture him I just don't know his name. Yeah, and they also did it again, I think in 2017, with Tom Cruise. Yeah, I don't know. It's an interesting concept. You've been at Universal, You've been on the Mummy, right?
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a fucking fun ride. It is really fun.
Speaker 1:It is really fun and I kind of hope they capture that magic again in something like that. Yeah, your life, but um bluey movie isn't the more it works.
Speaker 2:That's just gonna go crazy, it's. I think it should have came out this year.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, they wanted to be like a billion dollars. Yeah, unless they I don't know bluey's getting is he disney or nickelodeon? Um, I would say disney. It's on disney plus. Oh, you're right um bluey's cool, my niece liked him.
Speaker 2:She won't select the intro songs I've never seen bluey, but oh, I've watched bluey, but I've seen bluey everywhere. Cool, my niece liked him. She won't select the intro songs. I've never seen bluey, but oh, I've watched bluey, but I've seen bluey everywhere, if that makes sense it's. I mean, I know a couple adults that watch is it kind of like papa pig, max and ruby, kind of, yeah, similar?
Speaker 1:yeah, it's a story about nothing, but like so satisfying, yeah, yeah uh, the final season of you is coming to 2025. I'm excited for that.
Speaker 2:If it's good.
Speaker 1:If it's good, I've seen after season two, I think.
Speaker 2:I saw one, two and three. I think one and two were the best and then four. I just didn't even watch because it was like a whole two-part thing.
Speaker 1:Isn't that like Elizabeth Olsen? Didn't even watch because it was like a whole two part thing. Isn't it like Elizabeth Olsen? Yeah, yeah, I would watch it, just for her, true? Yeah, squid Games 2 just came out too long.
Speaker 2:I haven't started watching that yet, but I'm super excited to watch it.
Speaker 1:I'm in the middle of the first episode. It is the first season was amazing.
Speaker 2:I heard it's not as good, but still very, very. It's hard to make it really good.
Speaker 1:I got two more A new A24 trailer released, starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega in a film called Death of a Unicorn. I heard they're on a road trip back to their family visit some family. They hit a unicorn and some crazy shit happens. They hit a unicorn.
Speaker 2:They hit a unicorn yeah. That sounds like very Paul Rudd.
Speaker 1:And I think it's like no one's heard of a unicorn. I mean heard of unicorn like not, I mean heard of you know.
Speaker 2:But like never, ever believes in the unicorn, it's like.
Speaker 1:It's like if you went home right now and hit a unicorn you know I hit a unicorn. I would not believe you, um, and the last thing I got for you is we got a trailer for the new karate kid, karate kid legends.
Speaker 2:I'm excited for that one. Have you seen all the karate kid movies? Uh, the original is a long time ago, but I really liked Cobra Kai. No, no, no, I really liked the Jackie Chan.
Speaker 1:Oh my God, Really I really liked it. Oh my gosh, that just drives me nuts.
Speaker 2:I was a kid man, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:You were singing that Justin Bieber song.
Speaker 2:Yeah, exactly, never say never.
Speaker 1:Oh my goodness, dude um, but we went to the movies. This is like a tradition now that we started. We started so second year doing it we had a handful of people with us, some of your friends and family. Uh, we go to the movies on christmas day. You got there before me and he tells me it's pretty busy and I was like.
Speaker 2:I got there, I was like there's more people from wawana. What do you mean? I just saw a lot of cars that were parked we did go to a later showing, though like eight o'clock.
Speaker 1:So I'm sure like if we went to six o'clock it would have been a lot busier yeah uh, I was surprised to see that this movie was not in imax, though, but there are a lot of movies that come out that did come out on christmas day, like bob the bob dylan story. Uh, nosferatu um, nicole kidman's movie came out on christmas day. There's a boxing movie that just came out on Christmas Day, and I can see why it got pushed apart. This movie came out the same day as Sonic 3. Sonic 3 swept this movie under the rug.
Speaker 2:I bet, dude, I bet.
Speaker 1:Yeah, To me personally. I think Mufasa was a little bit better, Really.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but you have to think, even though if it was better, people who are gonna watch mufasa are like us or people older than us. Sonic 3 is literally like kids and anyone with kids, because that's like really popular right now. So even if it wasn't better, um the audience.
Speaker 1:It had a lot more audience it did. And then we had some people like um, even our theater wasn't a lot of people in there which makes people think it's okay to talk during movies drives me nuts. I hate that we were talking about this the other day. Like I'm very selective of who I go to the theaters, who I watch any movie with, if whether it's at home or at a friend's house or at a party. You can go to someone's house and, like, put a movie on.
Speaker 2:I can't do that no, no, I had to like sit down and pay attention pay attention.
Speaker 1:Even if I've seen it before, I want you to pay attention to it. What?
Speaker 2:if are you allowed to talk during the commercials?
Speaker 1:you don't care about that commercials, even like previews or like the previews yeah yeah, no, I don't mind about that okay, as long as you're whispering right, yeah yeah, well, I don't even care if you talk at all, but like, mostly because, like I go to the movies a lot and I see a lot of the same trailers, so I don't mind that. But we're here to talk about Mufasa, a Lion King story. It came out in 2024, directed by Barry Jenkins, written by Jeff Nathanson. And, of course, for those of you who don't know, mufasa a cub lost alone, meets a sympathetic lion named Taka and the heir to a royal bloodline. The chances meeting sets in motion. Lost alone meets a sympathetic lion named Taka and the heir to a royal bloodline. The chances meeting sets in motion an expansive journey and a group of misfits searching for their destiny. This movie is an adventure movie.
Speaker 2:Did this change your perspective on the Lion King at all?
Speaker 1:I wouldn't say it changed my perspective on the Lion King. Do you feel more sympathetic for Scar now?
Speaker 2:A little bit, yes, Because we never really knew what he did kind of, or how he got the name Scar.
Speaker 1:Yeah, or how he got the name Scar. That name was kind of forced in this movie. I really thought.
Speaker 2:Call me Scar. I thought that Mufasa was going to be the one who gave him the scar. I think that would have been better.
Speaker 1:If his own brother would have given his own brother. I mean, you're not in an anime too? This movie like the storyline is very anime, like two brothers like grow up and it, and you see like a lot of origin stories for a lot of characters in this movie yeah, you do like the monkey.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool the monkey, his wife, even uh zazu.
Speaker 1:You even see the origin story of the fucking rock.
Speaker 2:Starved rock yeah, yeah, starved rock. Is it starved rock?
Speaker 1:no starved rock. Yeah, wait a minute.
Speaker 2:No, it's not the, it's called something.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but she's the origin like how the it wasn't always like that which is wild um mufasa did their parents. At one point I did not even think to think about that really and you know they get separated when he was young. The animation not, yeah, animation alone is what makes people want to go see these movies it's breathtaking, yeah nothing in this movie was real but john favreau did say there's only one shot in the whole movie.
Speaker 1:The first one I got was real really, that was the opening scene with the sunrise okay this is when they went to africa to do research, and that's the one thing they shot there I love that shit, that that scene makes me want to go to africa one day I have zero interest in going to africa.
Speaker 2:Before I die, I want to go to africa would you do what they're?
Speaker 1:like a whole safari tour kind of like see like that at disney.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but like I want to see like a real, legit one okay, would you see at the f?
Speaker 1:uh animal kingdom resorts where they come up to your window and shit?
Speaker 2:I've stayed there once, yeah. Yeah, that's pretty sick.
Speaker 1:It was badass um, this movie starts off like him as a young cub. It's very sad, like right away, like damn. They're already tugging at your heartstrings like he gets separated from his parents.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Thinking they died from that tragic flood and he ends up getting like carried away down the river and he runs into Taka.
Speaker 2:That must have been a big-ass river, bro, that's what I'm thinking, Because you know what he must have got pushed to like the complete other side of the continent.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Because like, yeah, yeah, because like yeah they made.
Speaker 1:I just seen the tiktok of this today too. Like speaking of distance, like how far did uh simba travel when?
Speaker 2:he ran away to never see your parents ever again I think he said it was about 50 miles I mean for lions. I don't know if that's a lot, because we could drive that and I also didn't know mufasa like superpowers with the smelling and shit yeah, well, it's because, like I, I liked that part of the movie too, because he was kind of like trained by like a woman lion, and the woman lion is the one who does everything yeah, but you don't think he had that before he met them, or maybe his love interest had that a little bit too, true?
Speaker 1:oh, that's true, so maybe you're right about that um taka, you know they has the, you know they meet them. I was like I was one of the little brother and he come out with that song, little brother I was one of the brother I mean it was cool. I mean, I do remember a little bit of it, but most of the songs I just don't remember yeah, I don't remember any song and then you know they're played by little actors, actors boys.
Speaker 1:And then they grow up. And the mufasa, played by aaron pierre, who's going to be the new green lantern, that's pretty cool. He's a very talented actor. Um, the voice acting alone was great. The singing was pretty good. Yeah, I had a lot of fun. Did you see yourself relating to any of these characters, though?
Speaker 2:um, so I kind of like how, m like how basically he had to become the king.
Speaker 1:Well, taka Scar, I was shocked, not shocked, but I'm glad that he did this Like he was meant to be king. He was meant to be king, yes, and it makes whole sense like why in the Lion King, why he hates him so much.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but he wasn't even deserving.
Speaker 1:That's the whole't have this movie. Yeah, yeah, like he had like several opportunities like to show leadership or courage, just didn't do it.
Speaker 2:But I blame his parents for that well, maybe not his mom. No, because I mean, the dad was just the dick yeah, because the rules were like you can't basically like, if once his dad dies, he just you completely, you just take over it's just a bloodline exactly, even if you don't have qualifications yeah, and mufasa was supposed to be swearing his life to him yeah and then this girl comes in like I think you should be king.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean like that, say less, so he goes the love triangle was cool man it kind of. I've seen some people look at this in a different light, saying saying Mufasa was the dick in this movie.
Speaker 2:Not at all.
Speaker 1:Taka did save his life several times in this movie. Yeah, Just for him to steal his girl that he openly talked about. That's like if you went for a girl, I told you I liked.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but Mufasa was like oh, taka did that and he was helping, but she just didn't like him.
Speaker 1:On top of that, he steals the title of king from him. He does do that, and he steals his girl. Yeah, he stole his whole life, and I can see why he'd be pissed.
Speaker 2:It does make sense. Imagine, brother, if you're watching this. Imagine if I stole your girl.
Speaker 1:Yeah. Do you think this movie didn't need to be made? Did you need to see the origin story of Mufasa?
Speaker 2:No, I liked it though.
Speaker 1:I would recommend people see the streaming.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't think it had to be made.
Speaker 1:We talked about it before. It's like an homage to the Lion King 1.5, because this movie is narrated by Tumon and Pumbaa, and also Rafiki, who are telling the story to Simba's little kid.
Speaker 2:I like Rafiki's story a lot too.
Speaker 1:How he's crazy from the get-go.
Speaker 2:He's so wise, like in in the original lion king. We see him as like, so wise and he's kind of like knows all the answers, but like his monkeys, like when he was like with his family or his whatever bro, these people all have super powers. Yeah, they were like this guy's crazy.
Speaker 1:We don't like him and this guy can, like predict, like see visions yeah, if I can smell, uh, uh, like fucking bird can fly and see shit, the bird can fly, yeah, yeah zazu zazu and uh, uh, what's the voice of name?
Speaker 2:the no kira's a daughter oh uh sarabi sarabi. Yeah, who do you relate to?
Speaker 1:who do I relate to? Scar probably, really probably, why someone's third girl? Who do I relate to Scar?
Speaker 2:Probably, really Probably why Someone stole your girl. Are you supposed to be king, yeah?
Speaker 1:Yeah, Now it is good. I mean, when I think about this movie, I do picture a lot of anime storylines in this movie.
Speaker 2:Oh really.
Speaker 1:Mm-hmm, with, like good friends being betrayed and you know, just going separate paths and stuff like that. Yeah Jeez. I was going to then start this podcast. I was like, oh, I'm coming back better than ever, I'm feeling better, I'm here coughing and shit. So I mean, the songs weren't as good in this movie, timon and Puma. I want to talk about them for a little bit. A lot of people didn't like them in this movie Constantly breaking the fourth wall.
Speaker 2:Why I like them.
Speaker 1:I mean, I can see why they really forced themselves in this movie. They had nothing to do with it.
Speaker 2:They really had nothing to do with it, but it's like it added like it added curious about this too beyonce does reprise her role yeah, barely though she has like two lines in the whole movie and I'm just curious to see how much you get paid.
Speaker 1:Same thing, I was thinking the same thing, same thing, which I was gonna be it's cool to see. Oh yeah, because childish gambino was simba it is cool to see like where they're at now. They're having their second kid now yeah so I was excited to see that. I wish I would have seen a little bit more of that, do you?
Speaker 2:think they're going to make, because the way that it ended, I mean, technically, would that be like Lion King 4? Or is it 3 or 4? I forgot. Or would it be like Mufasa 2? You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1:It wouldn't be Mufasa. 2. That guy's dead.
Speaker 2:It would be like Lion King. Is it 3 or four? It'll be two.
Speaker 1:Lion King 2?.
Speaker 2:No Lion King. Oh yeah, you're right, because it's the prequel. You're right, I'm stupid.
Speaker 1:But there was a Lion King 2, right.
Speaker 2:There is a Lion King 2,.
Speaker 1:yeah, I can't remember that plot line at all.
Speaker 2:It's with Simba's daughter, if I'm not mistaken Simba's daughter Kiara. Was that a girl.
Speaker 1:That's Kiara. Oh yeah, what was her thing about?
Speaker 2:I don't remember.
Speaker 1:I don't remember. And then didn't they have like a spinoff show or something like that, if I'm not mistaken, yeah, they did on like Disney.
Speaker 2:What was the old Disney called? There was like Disney Channel and then like Toon Disney. Toon Disney or Disney XD, yeah yeah, yeah, I think it was like on that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I think it was like on that. Yeah, they were pretty cool. I mean, I liked them. I like, I love seth rogan, I love billy eichner um, I would rather see them, like, do an actual comedy together. Yeah, that'd be funny yeah, I enjoy this movie overall.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I liked it a lot too. I like the tradition too, how we go for christmas day. It makes it like more fun.
Speaker 1:Yeah, what'd you think of the villainless movie? We didn't talk about him yet. It's another lion and they definitely use a lion to explain the Lion King title.
Speaker 2:He killed all the other.
Speaker 1:Lion Kings of the tribe and he's like everything the light touches is ours.
Speaker 2:And that's how they tie it into the first one.
Speaker 1:And it's pretty cool. I mean interesting, but it's self-proclaiming very much.
Speaker 2:Yeah, cool, I mean interesting, but like it's self-proclaiming very much. Yeah, I mean I think it's it's cool because they were like different types of lions and I didn't. When I was watching it I was like, oh, I didn't know, lions hated other lions, you know, I didn't yeah think that, so I thought that was pretty cool we have people that hate other people.
Speaker 1:I guess you're right.
Speaker 2:There's like different but I didn't think of it like that way. I thought it was like all of lions are kind of cool with each other, but it's like no, we're better?
Speaker 1:No, definitely not, especially because of the different types of lion. Yeah, they were like albino.
Speaker 2:Yeah, they were like white and scary and way bigger.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they said like outsizing them, like every single one of them, and there was like two or three of them per lion in their tacos.
Speaker 2:Also, I never knew it snowed in Africa.
Speaker 1:I mean I got gotta look that up. I gotta look at the mountains. Yeah, they had to go up in the mountains to see the snow. I was like where the hell are these guys? Uh, what's the land called that?
Speaker 2:they were on that, their homeland I forgot, but I wasn't it like. Didn't it like mean like heaven, or like eternal life or something?
Speaker 1:yeah, and it's like this fantasy land that people want to go travel to and and people didn't believe it Like I wonder why.
Speaker 2:When they started talking about that, I thought they meant like because they would look into the distance and see like the sunrise and all that stuff, and it's like, oh, that's like whatever the land is called. And I thought they meant like you go there, like once you die. So I thought they were referring to like heaven.
Speaker 1:Well, well, the mom knew all about it and how to get there, and so yeah, it makes me think like why weren't you guys there in the first place then?
Speaker 2:yeah, so that's why I thought I was like, I mean, and also I'm kind of confused about the circle of life there too.
Speaker 1:Like yeah, they all look. Every animal there looks up to mufasa the king. Like aren't you guys still fucking eating these motherfuckers?
Speaker 2:they don't. But it's the circle of life.
Speaker 1:But they don't really dress like yeah, I'm cool with you, I'll fight with you, yeah, but tomorrow you're my lunch though no, I think they don't eat each other. I think they do.
Speaker 2:I don't think so. I think they just eat the other lion in the Lion King.
Speaker 1:They eat everything around. Yeah, like when Scar takes over.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, and that's why this becomes like a wasteland for a little bit.
Speaker 1:Yeah, right, right, right maybe you're right, maybe they do go outside of skirts, but still like it's kind of like a gang like you don't fuck with us, we'll eat your ass. Um, we didn't really stick around for the end credit scenes. If there is one dude we left right away.
Speaker 1:Because you had to, I had to go to the bathroom, so bad we literally dipped and this movie's like two, a little over two hours long. No, it's not even two hours now, we're 58 minutes yeah, I was waiting for it, to just like end and I haven't heard anybody in credit scene that there was or anything like that. It's not that you can't set up for it, and I mean movies. I I always love and hate prequels because, like you know what's gonna happen. Yeah, you know he's gonna become king. You know, like I was the only thing I didn't see.
Speaker 2:What happened was um scar fucking with the hyenas oh yeah, I thought they would have like well, because that, maybe that comes after I'm sure it does.
Speaker 1:It has to now.
Speaker 2:Um so the whole time in lion king 2 that evil like the villain is just like chilling in that lake, you know yeah he's dead and you see skeletons in the the cave that they live in yeah, I wanted to, like that was them or some of his crew probably because they had like so many like hidden things and you gotta say this is probably like a good, maybe less than 10 years before liking yeah, well is it? I think so.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it can't be that long after um, you see, rafiki is the thing a little bit too, and his, he has a good story, like I was. I saw this tree of vision with my brother, like you're my brother.
Speaker 2:Now it's like everybody sees the same thing, kind of yeah, it's very sweet kind of thing.
Speaker 1:What would you give this movie?
Speaker 2:one out of ten ah, one out of ten. Um, I'd probably give it like a high seven, like seven point eight, seven point nine, I'll get 7.5.
Speaker 1:It is very good. I wouldn't go to the theaters again and watch it no, I would not either, would you? Again watch it? No, I would not either. Would you even watch it again?
Speaker 2:I mean for fun, but I wouldn't be like, oh my god, let's watch Mufasa.
Speaker 1:If I'm watching Lion King, I'm more likely to put on the animated one.
Speaker 2:Oh, 100%, that's the best one, bro.
Speaker 1:Yeah yeah. Good movie, but I want to transition to something more live action, very different vibes, but it is a netflix original and I think that's one of my favorite things about this movie is that it definitely seems original. It's not a spin-off it's not a sequel. It's not a prequel, it's something alone.
Speaker 1:It does have vibes of other movies in this movie yeah but overall, I haven't seen nothing like this in a long time and you can find it on netflix if anyone wants to watch it. It's about a mysterious traveler black males, a young tsa agent into lending, letting a dangerous package slip through the security and onto onto a christmas eve flight. It's called carry on, starring taran egerton and jason bateman, directed by oh geez, excuse me if I'm saying that wrong collette sierra. Do you know anything about these two actors?
Speaker 2:jason bateman I just know a little bit about jason bateman bateman is he's.
Speaker 1:He can do it all. He knew comedy, he could do action, he's drama. He's a great actor. Tarrant egerton I. He's probably my top five actors of all time.
Speaker 2:Really.
Speaker 1:He played Elton John. He's played the Kingsman. He's played a star in the Apple TV series Black Bear, not Black Bear, black Bird. He's great in everything he does. To see him in this movie, I was so excited for it. Same thing with Jason Bateman, because doesn't really play the villain on a whole lot of his stuff. Yeah, I've never seen his show ozark. I don't know if he's bad or not or not, but um, he's has experience of darkness and I think these reason these two are paired up.
Speaker 2:They're both shorter guys I think you need someone, short kings, to make them cool. Yeah, um, but this movie has a lot of plot holes. It really does. I'll give it that a lot of people's biggest complaints.
Speaker 1:forgettable, they say. But this movie has a lot of plot holes. It really does. I'll give it that People's biggest complaint is forgettable, they say, but this movie kept my attention throughout the whole fucking time, the whole time. The whole time when you think you're going to get caught. I look at the fucking TV menu.
Speaker 2:I was like we still got another hour to go. How are they?
Speaker 1:going to get out of there? Where are they going to go from here? And it's captivating the whole time. His love interest, played by uh sophia carson, plays nora. She was pretty she's. She was another another netflix movie that just came out early this year too. So she's having a pretty big year. That's good. Her chemistry with uh taryn was pretty solid, I would say yeah, I liked it yeah, all right. So let's go through this guy, taryn egerton ethan ethan ethan.
Speaker 1:He plays a tsa agent who just couldn't reason because he couldn't be a cop yeah, he couldn't pass the test, or something like that, and he's just he has a baby on the way and he's just becoming like a like a regular dad who is not really happy with his life but he's accepting his life yeah that's what, that's where he's at with his life, and his wife can tell that too and he's like you're walking on eggshells, dude, like I need you to make a move, I need you to be a man, basically.
Speaker 1:So they both work together at the LAX on top of like the busiest. One of the busiest airports Of all, like in the whole country, work on christmas eve in fact, and eric egerton thought this was like the perfect time to go to his boss, like I need a promotion, I want a promotion. So they kind of test them out a little bit and they put him in that line. He goes from the guy like using the metal detectors, like this, what to the guy watching the x-ray cameras? Yeah, even people's bags we've been stopped.
Speaker 2:I got stopped on my way back from disney. For what? Um? It's? Because, like normally, you're supposed to take out all your electronics and it's just because I didn't like take stuff from electronics, but that's about it. But one time when I was coming back from spain, I got stopped and they were like do you have, like, uh, any liquids or anything that you shouldn't have in this like bag? And then I remember I had a bottle of coke and I was like I have a, I have coke oh, you idiot.
Speaker 2:And then they, then they went in my bag and then they pulled out the coca-cola and they were like oh yeah, you're not. You're like you can't bring this over but I didn't mean it like that, but I decided it was funny yeah, I got a bomb I was. I got coke in my luggage.
Speaker 1:This guy. So I mean I've been stopped only just because I have like I think it was like shampoo or something like that, yeah, it's like something, and I just tell them just toss it, just toss it. Yeah, and it's not more like I'm scared. This is more of a hassle. Like I'm not, like, come on.
Speaker 2:But imagine like they stop you randomly and start questioning you.
Speaker 1:How often do you think that happens?
Speaker 2:There's people who get accused wrongly.
Speaker 1:They're not accused like legit threats, Like they catch something.
Speaker 2:I don't know. Sometimes I feel like this is a safe place in this world, but then there's also a lot of crazy people.
Speaker 1:There's a lot of things we don't. I just see it in the news.
Speaker 2:Like this woman got stabbed 14 times, a pregnant woman. I did see that 14 times because she tipped bad.
Speaker 1:Oh my god, yeah, I'm gonna start tipping for now. Right, a lot more right. So anyways, I mean he goes from that, he's. That's all he's doing is, as his promotion is like, just looking at x-rays, someone finds like an earpiece, like hey, this isn't mine. And then you get a text message randomly. Put the earpiece in. What'd you do?
Speaker 2:I like I was like fuck this like I already knew it was gonna come.
Speaker 1:I already know it's gonna be something blackmailing me.
Speaker 2:I would just. I feel like we want to say like toss it, but it's like you toss and you get shot no, they need you. Yeah, they wouldn't shoot you I guess you're right, but I wouldn't think that right away. I'm just like I. I watched too many movies for that I would have got rid of that bitch right away, and he wasn't supposed to be him there.
Speaker 1:They had. These terrorists had a whole nother plan shows you how professional they are. They were able to switch their entire plan literally in like a like a minute, literally right away. All we know for sure is that there's three people working with them. There's jason bayman, who's there to ensure everything goes smoothly.
Speaker 1:There's a guy in a van standing nearby checking out security cameras, and also they're like um, make other black males if they need to and there's a guy on the field who are at these guys's house like one was in the other guy's house ready to kill his whole family and the other one was um, and then he goes to his other one just to search like what, if they could use that? Guy ends up getting away. We never find out who the fuck that is. And there one thing about this movie I did not expect to see there are deaths in this movie people do get killed, literally yeah the end they don't really get justice.
Speaker 1:I would like to see like the courtroom maybe not the courtroom, but like him going through telling everything yeah, that'd be pretty good.
Speaker 2:That would be cool for like, actually not not for a two, don't make that no, not for a two, I don't.
Speaker 1:No, this movie does not deserve a sequel.
Speaker 2:It doesn't, because it'd be the same shit and what it is.
Speaker 1:It's timeless too. Yeah, you can watch this five years from now.
Speaker 2:It's still getting the same feeling, yeah what I said.
Speaker 1:I compared this to Colin Farrell's phone booth, something like that early 2000s, where he's a businessman, he's walking, I think, he makes a phone call in the phone booth this is when they were selling and it starts ringing. Like you know, they don't receive calls. He answers it and it's someone blackmailing him and he cannot leave this phone booth and people are like, like you know, getting aggressive, like I need the phone, blah, blah, blah. You know, like don't get off this fucking phone, I will. You Someone with a sniper nearby and the cops coming. It's a whole big, the whole movie is him in this phone booth. That sounds like a good movie. It is so good and this movie reminded me a lot of it. But there is confrontationalism with the terrorists and Ethan in this movie too, which is wild the face in the bathroom and she's like yeah he does like throw a punch.
Speaker 1:I didn't.
Speaker 2:The fact that he has a gun in there too was very scary yeah, that's I would have it was a plastic gun I would have killed him right there at that part, when they were in the bathroom I thought that too yeah, because he had him he did have him but, he was trying to show nora was safe, yeah, but the movie had to keep going it did I mean I did lose interest there. Oh it was like really good, like boom, like it was like crazy things were happening. And then I think once they got on the plane, I it started. I think it started to go down a little bit.
Speaker 1:But but I mean, you could tell I was wrapping up at that point yeah, yeah you could tell I did not. I mean, you find the motivation? I was kind of confused with motivation. They wanted to kill, like this one, uh woman in politics yeah but that wasn't the whole point of the movie, the point of he was gonna blow up his plane. He was willing to do it with him himself on the plane too.
Speaker 1:Well, he's gonna jump off, I guess yeah, when I saw that I was like that's insane and he ends up killing him with the weapon too yeah there's so many plot holes in this movie like we talked like the plastic gun for a second, I don't think that would go through no and the fact that the guy in the van had perfect parking all the fucking time. Literally, he was just like aiming like this, the whole time, perfect time, and no one like he opened up a window in the van yeah, taking a gun out and it's like she's right in front of her and the fact that he like walked in the airport and just stabbed that one rapper and just like cut down walking, like nothing.
Speaker 1:No one thought anything of it, never found out if he was okay. So then it's. There's a lot of plot holes but I'm willing to let all that go just for their chemistry together. The story long, it was very good. It ends up in a happy note, like everyone saved at the end of the day. And the cop, the female cop, which first of all her whole story was irrelevant in this movie, like her sideline, like trying to capture them, put things together like who?
Speaker 2:gives a fuck.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you know she was trying to be like kind of like the hero yeah, and at the end, when she sees ethan like hurt and I was like ethan, you call me. When you're repaired like not repaired, like you're um feeling better because he got stabbed like a couple times and he was like, okay, and he helps me make a big cop. I was like, what's like? What the fuck are we doing here? Would you recommend this to anybody? I definitely would.
Speaker 2:A lot of people are talking about this because, no, it was the most. I think it broke a record like the most streamed.
Speaker 1:It started becoming like the biggest netflix movie, original movie of all time of all time, I think it's gonna be broken next year with a happy gilmore too no, I don't think so.
Speaker 1:I think so, I don't think so, I'm gonna watch the hell out of that I mean this, this, I don't think it's gonna be as good, I'm still gonna watch it though you're right, it won't be as good, but it could be the most streamed yeah, people just can watch out of curiosity yeah, no, but um, I texted you like I said, I was like, should I watch, carry on, or what is it called?
Speaker 2:it ends with us and then you're like dude, watch, carry on. And even on tiktok all I saw was people were like carry on, it's like a really good movie, you should watch it. And then I was watching with my family from mexico, so I was watching it in spanish. Oh, it was watching it in spanish, but still it's like it was the same thing. You know, I understand it, but I thought it was really cool because, like my uncle was like dude, like I don't think I can keep watching this movie like I'm like so nervous.
Speaker 2:You know, right, like I would check, like the thing, and it's like 40 minutes left I was like come on, yeah, it definitely gets you.
Speaker 1:In general, it's a thriller movie for sure. Yeah, yeah, I'm probably gonna watch it again before the year ends I would definitely watch it again.
Speaker 2:I think it's good to watch, like a lot of people, like you know, the people at your house like, oh, this is a good movie introducing I told my dad I'll watch.
Speaker 1:He called me right away and he loved it yeah, yeah, it's so good, terry egerton can kill it. He's amazing. And the fact to see jason bateman play this such a dark villain too. I mean, for those you don't know, it was jason bateman in this movie. They do a good job about lowering his voice, so you can't really tell who he is at first. Um, and the fact when he killed that old man like who had the ticket yeah, he was so smooth with it too.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm sure that has to do a lot of editing stuff yeah what would you give this movie one out of ten?
Speaker 2:I'd give it, uh like a eight, eight or 8.5 I'll get 8.5 for sure.
Speaker 1:Um, next year it's gonna be a big movie, a year for movies, a lot bigger than this one, because this one is like kind of the leftovers because the whole writer's strike from last year.
Speaker 2:I was just going to say the writer's strike, yeah so next year should be a lot more jam-packed but, I mean, you don't go to movies a lot.
Speaker 1:Is there any movie that stood out to you this year that came out? I can't even think of one so my next episode is going to be the year review of 2024 with brandon cole. I'm excited to do that but, like some of my best ones gonna be talking about is uh, challengers I still have to watch wicked wicked is pretty good. I mean I'm gonna hurt a lot of people's feelings because I'm not. I mean that movie's meant for theater kids yeah, we talked about this.
Speaker 2:Um, what was? What'd you say? The number one movie was um that was inside profit not profitable inside out too inside out.
Speaker 1:No, that wasn't number one. Was it number one? I don't know. There's a whole list, but I don't. I think that was something a different kind of list than, like the okay best list. Um, my personal favorite was the bike riders and that had awesome butler. That was awesome butler, right. Yeah, I heard a lot of good things about I fucking love that movie. I had the gardens galaxy. My personal favorite was the Bike.
Speaker 2:Riders and that had Austin Butler in it. That was with Austin Butler, right? Yeah, I heard a lot of good things about it.
Speaker 1:I fucking love that movie. I had the Guardians of the Galaxy poster right here. It was almost that.
Speaker 2:It was almost the Bike Riders. Nah, I think that's more you, that's more you. That's a badass poster.
Speaker 1:Yeah, is there any movies that you know that's coming out next?
Speaker 2:Honestly, bro, you put me on the spot. I can't think of any Off the top of my head.
Speaker 1:You look like a fool.
Speaker 2:Right now I do look like a fool. No, what are you excited for?
Speaker 1:Obviously Fantastic Four.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:Wicked 2 is coming out Next year, of course.
Speaker 2:Are you already?
Speaker 1:They filmed it back to back. What the yeah? Can you imagine the pressure Of that? Cast Like you gotta be in your Best behavior for the whole fucking year you can't have any scams come out.
Speaker 2:You're gonna fuck up that movie for everybody. I heard anna grande had to change her voice a lot for that like her talking voice because I heard that her voice was originally maybe like a little bit deeper.
Speaker 1:I mean, it's probably more like to her regular voice, really her deeper voice, I would say it's more of a regular voice, like for the high pitched one.
Speaker 2:It's almost like cat from victorious, victorious, yeah, yeah yeah, I mean, it's theater. I expect nothing less, that's how she started, though, was theater, yeah, yeah, so that's why I'm so excited.
Speaker 1:I gotta watch that, yeah, but next episode is gonna be the year end review with Brandon Cole I'm excited to talk about when I'm going over a bunch of lists the best of and out soon, uh, but what's your friend podcast called what's?
Speaker 2:what's it again, what's your podcast? Oh, my podcast. Uh, little shy podcast. You guys can find us on apple and spotify and the instagram page is also little shy podcast little shy podcast and you'll be posting all kinds of reels to beginning the dances interviews. Yeah, um I got an episode title for you. I mean, I got episodes for you.
Speaker 1:Now, for me now. Yeah, I got, I got it. Is it movies? No, it's not, it's not, it's not movies.
Speaker 2:No, I think it's gonna be a break for movies, but I'll definitely have you on.
Speaker 1:I'm also gonna be breaking out to like other stuff in this year too, uh, 2025. Some people reach out to me they would love to do a tv show once, so that'd be cool. Yeah, we're gonna be doing some tv stuff especially like january.
Speaker 2:February are like slow movie months yeah, so is there any like romantic movies coming out soon?
Speaker 1:uh, nicole kidman just came out with one on christmas day. That one is kind of wild really it's about. She's a boss ceo of this company and she hires his intern and she has like an affair with her with him but this guy, it's like that, was it dominatrix, something like that? She who would like tell her what to do?
Speaker 2:oh, really she liked that shit.
Speaker 1:Like they were going like we can't, we can't do, we can't like have anyone knowing about this, so they'll go to a bar and they'll order a glass of milk and, like he'll make her drink it. I was like what?
Speaker 2:the fuck is this movie?
Speaker 1:kawaii kuro's day. I heard good things about it, but like that if you want to consider like a romantic movie yeah, yeah, but um, there's a lot of good comedies coming out next year. I was talking about happy gilmore yeah, I'm excited for that but uh, fernando, thank you for coming on for the last episode of 2024 thank you for having me always, bro.
Speaker 1:I can't wait to have you on my podcast yeah, soon, soon, little shy podcast will come up on there. Um, we talked about you were. You were a big inspiration with like content day. We're gonna be doing some more of that stuff throughout the year.
