Mickey 17 with Brandon Brogdon
Robert Pattinson showcases his remarkable acting range in two wildly different sci-fi films that explore identity, time, and what it means to be human.
• Mickey 17 tells the story of an "expendable" human clone who goes on dangerous missions knowing his memories will be transferred if he dies
• Bong Joon-ho's direction balances sci-fi concepts with emotional storytelling
• Robert Pattinson's character voice and mannerisms create a distinct, somewhat dorky protagonist
• The film explores ethical questions about cloning technology and treating copies as less than human
• Mark Ruffalo's character appears to satirize certain political figures
• Christopher Nolan's Tenant presents a complex narrative about time inversion that challenges viewers
• Tenant features impressive action sequences with objects and people moving both forward and backward in time
• Pattinson delivers a charismatic performance alongside John David Washington
• Both films demonstrate Pattinson's versatility and commitment to challenging roles
• The conversation includes discussion of upcoming films and excitement for future releases
excuse me, is anybody sitting here? Sorry, this he's taken.
Speaker 2:Sorry you want to hear the coolest thing I heard about robert pettinson right now what he? You know he was roommates with andrew garfield and charlie cox all the same time. They were roommates together and Charlie Cox all at the same time. They were roommates together and now they're all playing superheroes.
Speaker 1:Who's Charlie Cox? He's Daredevil. Oh, that's cool.
Speaker 2:Where were they?
Speaker 1:roommates at with each other.
Speaker 2:In London. That's where they're all from. I think that was actually. I heard him talk about an interview actually, and it wasn't just them three, it was like a rotating thing. Guys were coming in and out, swapping roommates and stuff like that. It sounded pretty cool. It's kind of cool that all three of those guys roomed together.
Speaker 1:Why are the English so good at acting?
Speaker 2:And not only are they good at acting, they're good at acting at American roles too.
Speaker 1:Every good actor you can think of is probably English except for my boy. Timothée, timothée, chalamet, chalamet.
Speaker 2:Chalamet. Welcome back to this. He's Taken where I'm your host, rob Miranda. Brandon Brogdon, whose voice you hear every single week on the podcast, who does the intro for me, is back in return of the podcast to help me out review the new Mickey 17 the biggest Robert Pattinson fan I know, um, very throwback episode. We've also picked another robert pattinson movie and also a christopher nolan movie tenant. I'm excited to talk about that because this is my first time watching it. I kind of surprised myself, like on what I'm gonna have to say about it, because I did not like this movie. I mean, I guess that is a popular opinion about that movie, but I don't know. We'll get into it a little bit later. Let's talk about movies, brandon, a little bit. It's been a long time since I've been on the podcast and every once in a long while you'll hit me up about a movie like oh, I've seen this movie and it was pretty dope or this movie kind of of sucked.
Speaker 1:Have you been going to the movies a lot lately? Uh, I feel like I've seen a lot of movies lately, you know all the big ones that are coming out.
Speaker 2:One that I've really enjoyed lately is one of them days. It's my, my favorite new release. It's an it's a good comfort movie. I would say that because I've seen that twice in theaters too twice, I went, I'm discovering imagine theaters.
Speaker 2:I've been there a handful of times, but I I also discovered the Cuddle Seats. I think I talked about this podcast before we the reason this movie was delayed. I mean, this episode was delayed. We both got sick. I was supposed to come down there and visit you at Indy and we were gonna go check out this theater that you recommended. To me it was like a dine-in theater.
Speaker 1:Tell me about that theater, the can can theater, I think it's called, starts with a k, so I don't know how to pronounce it con con or can can oh, we are in indiana, so it could be just kkk on con.
Speaker 1:Oh whoa uh no, but there's like a japanese tavern inside of it, there's like a bars and stuff and great popcorn. Yeah, I went there and saw uh mickey 17 there last night. I was gonna say we got another cool theater in town, living room theater where you have like the recliners and stuff. They serve you like food, they come and give you your food and stuff I've been to that one with you.
Speaker 2:I think we went to go see blackish there. Yeah, that movie was hilarious. I haven't seen it since, actually, but it was a hilarious movie. Um, I'm just loving movie theater experiences. My bucket list of this year is to go to at least three cool new theaters this summer, so I'm excited to do that. Nice Streaming at home there's been a lot of streaming movies out lately. Actually, have you been doing a lot of streaming at home?
Speaker 1:Well, I've been streaming movies about family lately. If you know what those are the Fast and Furious saga.
Speaker 2:I was like what are you talking about?
Speaker 1:I'm a blended no uh, I recently rewatched no fraud too. That was also really good.
Speaker 2:I've seen that twice in theaters as well. That was a good movie.
Speaker 1:It's a great movie. I'm trying to think of what else. Oh, another movie I recently watched randomly that I really enjoyed was deep water horizon.
Speaker 2:Is that with Paul Walker?
Speaker 1:No, that's with Mark Wahlberg. I don't know if I've seen that one. Kurt Russell's in it. It's about that one actor that's in a what's that? Nicolas Cage movie where they go to prison and stuff.
Speaker 2:Oh, Face Off John Travolta.
Speaker 1:No, not that one. A they're on the plane. Uh, what's that movie called?
Speaker 2:it's like a prison plane.
Speaker 1:They're like transferring people. Whatever, there's some guy out of that movie, he's in there. It's really good. It's about the bp oil spill in uh 2010. Okay, okay, so it's a newer one. Yeah, in Orleans. Yeah, it's like in 2016. I really enjoyed it. I'm shocked at how good it was.
Speaker 2:Interesting, interesting. Well, award season was kind of coming to an end a little bit. Oscars was just last week. I haven't really had a chance to talk about it on the podcast yet. You mentioned you didn't watch it, but I stood up and watched the whole thing and it went pretty much exactly how you thought it was going to be. Like Enora swept the whole thing Random. Like Enora Conclave were the two biggest winners throughout the whole night. I felt like and nothing really spectacular happened during the show. It was kind of a boring show actually. My boy.
Speaker 1:Huh, I was going to say my boy, timmy, got stiffed.
Speaker 2:Timothy Chamelet. He did get stiffed a little bit but he did clean out in SAG Awards, like a couple weeks before Conan O'Brien hosted this year's Oscars. And I love Conan O'Brien, I think he's great, I think he's hilarious. Maybe like two good bits in the whole thing he even like made I don't know if you've seen this movie he made like a weird Kendrick Lamar calling Jake a pedophile joke. I did see that. He didn't see that and I was just like he didn't even say it. Funny, it was more of a statement than a joke, really yeah, it feels pretty forced at this point yeah, um, have you seen an aura?
Speaker 2:I have not seen that movie, yet I it's on my list. I haven't seen it either and I was like how good can this movie really be if no one everyone asked, no one has seen it. So I mean, it's like it seems like it always happens. Adrian Brody was a good one, I mean a big winner, for this night. He got the best actor. Other than that, the whole thing.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he shouldn't have won that though.
Speaker 2:Was Timothee Chalame up for that one too? Yes, he was.
Speaker 1:I don't think that his movie on a complete unknown won anything but the fact that adrian brody used a high to enhance his uh accent in the in the brutalities, I think. Because then you hear of guys like sebastian sand preparing for his role, the apprentice, where he has to watch countless hours of videos of this guy talking and get to his mannerisms and stuff. And then, uh, timothy chalamet tried to learn to sing for five years to prepare for this role and then he's using ai to enhance his accent. I'm not saying they acted better than him or anything. I'm just saying they put in the word he, he used peds, you know yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:And on top of that, people kind of pissed at him because, uh, how long his speech was. I mean, I watched his, I watched him give that speech and he did cut off the music. He's like, hey, turn that shit off. Um, but at the end of the day, like isn't that why you're watching the oscars anyway? To watch these people have their moment in the spotlight, and it's a proud moment. It's like who gives a fuck? If you're seeing the next 30 seconds or so, like what the fuck am I not gonna watch?
Speaker 1:I kind of doubt it yeah, but there's like there's only so much, there's only so many thank yous.
Speaker 2:You can really say, you know, without dragging it out yeah, because some people did turn into like a political statement or something like that or some statement I did like, uh, the memes of cillian mur behind him, patiently waiting for him to be over. Did you see actually Timothy Shamley's from the SAG award His speech? It was a good speech I thought he gave.
Speaker 1:I didn't see the whole thing, but I did see the big part where he's like I'm trying to be the best there is.
Speaker 2:And he's like fuck y'all, I'm going to be the best of the best. He's like he was basically just manifesting it honestly, which I respect. A lot of people don't like that guy, I don't know. Also, people were judging him for making out with Kylie Jenner in the front row. I was like who gives?
Speaker 1:a shit. That's what she's known for.
Speaker 2:That's what comes with the territory. But I want to talk about Mickey 17 a little little bit now. I have been looking forward to this movie since like early last year, because this movie definitely got affected from the actor's strike. It got pushed back, pushed back, pushed back and um, I think this movie was supposed to come out in january as well, and then it got pushed back to march, which tells me a couple things um january. Movies are like where studios just dump their movies out, the movies that they don't really care about. Case in point, the new Captain America movie. It came out in February. Still, january and February is the same thing. Those movies suck Anyway.
Speaker 1:There's a few good movies last month. I'm going to argue that plan.
Speaker 2:Okay, yeah, yeah, okay, you're great. Yeah, yeah, I get you. I'll give you that. Like companion was really good too, um, but the fact that this was the studio pushed it back a little bit into March and April. Time tells me that they believed in this movie and it's going to do really great and I think it deserved the spot. Like I, I really did enjoy this movie. I'm so excited to talk about it. Robert pattinson did great. I want to talk about the director, excuse me, and um, you brought up a good point when we were talking about it and you said you think the movie, the director or the creators, the studio, was really banking on trump losing this election for some of these jokes to hit.
Speaker 1:Well, yeah, the way you kept talking about it getting pushed back makes more sense now watching the movie.
Speaker 2:That's exactly what my first thought was when you said that Maybe they're pushing it back to distance the time a little bit, you know, because January is obviously when he's stepping into presidency, and so they're like, eh, the jokes aren't going to hit the same. For those who don't know about this movie, mickey 17, known as an expendable, goes on a dangerous journey to colonize an ice planet. Directed by Bong Joon-ho, also written by Bong Joon-ho, and based on a novel, mickey 7, by Edward Ashton. This movie is also starring people like Robert Pattinson, steven Yeun I'm trying to think of who else in this movie's other big names, in this, mark Ruffalo, obviously, before I ask you to come on this podcast, naomi Akey. Naomi Akey, thank you, I couldn't find her on the IMBD. But before I ask you to come on this podcast, where are you going to go see this movie?
Speaker 1:Where am I going to go see this movie? Where am I gonna?
Speaker 2:see this movie. Where are you going to see this movie?
Speaker 1:uh, I went to see this movie. I can't no, no where are you gonna?
Speaker 2:where are you guys gonna watch this if I didn't ask you to come on the podcast? Uh, where, not where? Where were you?
Speaker 1:oh, I'm sorry'm sorry, that was on me. Yeah, I was going to watch this movie regardless of the podcast because I was also excited about this movie. I'm a big Robert Pattinson fan.
Speaker 2:I'm a firm believer that he is of the top actors of our generation.
Speaker 1:He was passed over. He was passed over for the role of Paul.
Speaker 2:Atreides, but he would have murdered that role. Oh really, he passed over a lot of roles. Actually, I think he's gonna be on a train like on these big roles, coming back to back to back pretty soon. He was in a christopher nolan movie. For god's sake, he is our batman, he's my batman. I like him as batman, but the thing that sucks about the batman movie is not gonna be made.
Speaker 1:It's like 2030 now, probably yeah, I saw something where he was complaining about that, but I don't know how real that was I don't.
Speaker 2:I wouldn't say he was complaining about it. He kind of joked about his. Yeah, by the time he's gonna give me me, it's gonna be an old man, batman yeah and uh.
Speaker 1:Well, I guess we're not there yet, but I have another comment about his batman-ness. But I also really enjoyed his batman movie and the spin-off series that came from it the yeah, yeah, there's a lot of things going on with dc.
Speaker 2:I don't know like it's almost over stimulating with all the news going on with dc right now, like with all the movies have been announced and stuff like that, um, but we're not here to talk about that. Mickey 17 I seen this on Saturday it was a Saturday showing around 1 o'clock in the afternoon. There was literally only three or four other people in my theater. How was your theater reaction? Was it packed?
Speaker 1:My theater was pretty light too. My theater was pretty light. I was actually reading this movie. Didn't do too great money-wise over the weekend.
Speaker 2:I mean it looked like it had a big budget just because of the stars and the CGI alone. But I don't think it was a huge budget movie, Robert Mark Ruffalo. Nah, you're going to have a big budget in this movie. I mean, what do you consider a big budget? Um, over a hundred? I doubt it.
Speaker 1:I don't think it was over 100.
Speaker 2:I would put you close to it, but I wouldn't say it was over 100 yeah, it kind of sucks this movie didn't do, because, like, I've been telling everybody about it that I'm going to watch it. Okay, we're going to go through it a little bit and I'm going to tell you what I love about it, because I know we're not on the same page when it comes to this movie. Um, let's first of all talk about robert pattinson's character a little bit mickey 17. Um, the first thing that stood out to me in the trailers I'm sure stopped everybody was the voice. It was kind of an interesting choice to change up his voice or make it distinguishable to this character. And after, like watching the movie, I was like it was a pretty good choice, like it fit the character very well, felt like, you know, kind of look very americanized, kind of dorky um, I don't even know if I call it americanized, but it was kind of a dorky, high-pitched voice. Um, nothing like the batman at all. So I was just curious to see how he went there.
Speaker 2:And on top of that, uh, bon bon, john ho, who directed a lot of famous movies, a lot of big movies, um, let me see the last one. He, the big one, he bit. He directed the uh, parasite is probably what he's best known at. Besides this movie, he doesn't speak english. I don't know if you knew that so I was like curious to see how he's actually directing these these actors. But on top of that he's also dealing with pros, so I was like I'm sure there's translators, oh yeah, on the site and stuff yeah, there a thousand percent is because it's even translators for him and his interviews, um.
Speaker 2:But I mean, yeah, trailers, translators can help. But, like I don't know, as a director you got to build a connection and bond with these actors too, to give you again the same page, I felt like. So I was wondering if that was going to be a big obstacle for this. I don't think so, uh, but how do you feel about his voice in this movie?
Speaker 1:I thought the mickey 17 voice was cool.
Speaker 2:Um, I guess it was americanized it was cool, but it was also like dorky and um, he had like his mannerism. He was like it was almost like a Peter Parker kind of vibe, almost Peter Parker before the spider bite, exactly. I keep hating myself for going back to these superhero references. You're good with the camera.
Speaker 1:I'm trying to get my phone charger to work.
Speaker 2:But not only, like I said, his voice, his mannerism. He's kind of a dorky guy. He's kind of a shy guy. He's mostly keeping his nose to the ground. He doesn't really want anything. But then he meets somebody who played by no naomi let me see what her character's name is called uh nasha who kind of I wouldn't say brings him out of his shell. He just gives him more self-esteem within himself. Like he becomes reliant on this chick to like help him get through his job which we'll talk about his job in a minute. So her character seems super vital to him. She seemed like a great character.
Speaker 2:I love the way she portrayed this movie. In this movie she's a strong, confident woman who's tough as tough as shit, beating up people for messing with them a little bit, and she just had his back and I really like that in her character. Until like midway through the movie when we find out like oh shit, she likes some certain stuff which we'll talk about. And then I was like I don't know if I can trust you not, because I found out you've been you like that fucking shit. I don't even know what kind of chemical it was it's not like it was like oxycontin, almost that's what it seemed like to me, like it's like unpurified oxycontin, is that?
Speaker 2:and then stephen young's character. Stephen young who plays like this guy who helps him not helps him, but like pushes him into this program, to going into space. I should say I was talking to somebody about this movie afterwards and I was like I love steven young, but take him out of this movie, take his character out of this movie. I don't think anything too much changes too much. Yeah, and same thing goes with that, um, that one chick who has a crush on Mickey.
Speaker 1:The other security lady.
Speaker 2:Yeah, take her character out too, nothing changes. So it's kind of weird to throw those characters in this movie, especially that girl. She had a crush on Mickey and she wanted him, and then you, naomi, was like and she was like saw that for two seconds and she was like nah, you can't have him. And then you randomly see her with a girl, like a girlfriend. At the very end I was like what the fuck was the point of all this?
Speaker 1:um, yeah, I was gonna say, nothing happened in that movie no, I would not.
Speaker 2:I wouldn't say nothing happened in this movie. Mark ruffalo's I'll talk about him a little bit. He was definitely like trying to do method acting I felt like with an underbite and everything like that. He was definitely trying to foreshadow like a Neanderthal presidential. Yeah, let's just say he's just trying to imitate Trump. It seemed like almost a little bit with his beliefs. His action, his movements is like his anger, how he's always has his wife in his ear telling him what to do, basically him hiding behind religion.
Speaker 2:In this movie, um, him trying to like I mean, there are resemblance to our current president now like where he creates a problem and he tries to look like hero solving that problem too, even though you're the one who caused it. It's like you said they were banking on Trump to lose in this election. Now that they're here, it's like, oh shit, now we got to like be careful. I don't know if they changed anything for this movie because of that or not, but I think the tone changed a little bit. All right, I'm super curious to see why you didn't like this movie.
Speaker 1:Well, like I was just saying, it felt like nothing happened. I mean, they start off this film that Steven Yeun's character and Robert Pattinson, they get in trouble with the mafia, they have to leave Earth for their safety or whatever. They never really explain why they should have left earth and goes to this other planet and then, four and a half years later, when they actually get to this other planet, nothing happens on this other planet well mark ruffalo's character.
Speaker 2:He plays like this guy who who ran for was a senator or governor or something like that, several times he ran for two presidential elections and lost two presidential elections so I feel like in his mind he's like I gotta do something to seem like basically stay relevant to the people, to show people I am important.
Speaker 2:So pick up. He puts together this whole program where he's gonna go. He's like, fuck it, if I can't be president here on fucking earth, I'm gonna be president of this ice island, ice ice planet and um. So he put together this whole like spacex kind of thing, um, and he I don't know how he's getting funded, really, if he's funding it himself or what's going on with it um he's like crystal coin he's like fuck it, I'll take you guys and I'll be president over there and no one can tell me no, because I wouldn't be one in charge.
Speaker 2:So I think that's the whole reason that the whole Iceland thing got started.
Speaker 1:Well, it seemed like they left more because of the cloning thing, because cloning got outlawed on Earth.
Speaker 2:I don't know if they left because of cloning.
Speaker 1:I wouldn't say that. Who knows why they left, they didn't talk about it. And I thought, and then left, they didn't talk about it, and I almost I thought, and then there was all about this, all about this sauce. They kept talking about sauce, that was very weird.
Speaker 2:That was very. They didn't really explain on it, and this movie is based on a novel and because of that I do want to go back and read that a little bit just to see if they do expand on that a little bit more, especially towards the end when they wanted to make more sauce or that dinner scene.
Speaker 1:It was definitely weird, where she just kind of chops off the tail and blends it up and then drinks it. And how insignificant the multiples are.
Speaker 2:You haven't even mentioned Mickey 18 yet yeah, I didn't even mention how this movie. I like how they did this a lot. They do this in several movies where they start off a point in the movie where he's on the ground, all hurt and stuff like that. They play a little bit of that scene but then they go back and like, okay, it's almost like all right, you want to know how I got to this point in my life. And it does a backstory and then you catch up to that point where it is that and then you go on forward, going on the story from his point of view. I like how movies do that a lot actually I hope you say it was cool um, so anyways, okay, let's keep going.
Speaker 2:Like how, from there, like he runs away from the mafia, he joins, like um, this program known as the expendables. He doesn't really read the description of what it entails. Everyone kind of warns him like you sure you want to do this? And he's like, yeah, fuck it, what an expendable is? It's a dangerous job because you're going to a totally different planet. You're signing up to basically be the touch subject of all these experiments to see if you can survive on this planet or if you can live without your suit in space or something like that. You know all these dangerous missions he signed up for and if he dies it's okay, because it's just going to reprint his body. The exact same way, it's going to have all his memories and all of his data in his memories and so he's almost like immune to anything. Even though he's technically dying, he's, he's still going gonna be okay. And man, did they treat him like shit? Like they did not teach this guy like human anymore as soon as he signed up?
Speaker 1:program they were. They were, uh, using him to cure diseases. They were testing like vaccines on him and stuff which is like I guess that's kind of a cool concept to use. Like that's kind of like ethically wrong too.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't know, and they did address that, and they say that's why it was outlawed on earth. So he's like fuck it, I'm just gonna. And then, um, mark ruffles character is like we'll only use it in space and only for the benefit of mankind, though. So I mean, I guess you have to volunteer too. They can't just make anybody do this, and the reason it was I. I don't know why they show this too. I thought it was a waste of showing this, but like the reason why it was banned on earth is because the guy who created it was like a psychopath. He created multiples of himself who was going around killing people, and then it all became confusing of like how do we charge this guy? Do we charge this clone? Do Do we charge him? What do we do? And then he's like fuck it, no more cloning. And that's when Mark Ruffalo came to the table. I was like I got an idea. Let's just do it in space.
Speaker 1:And then go ahead. Now you go.
Speaker 2:Then it became like an expendable, not expendables multiples, that's what they call themselves. Like multiples, the name creating in this movie is kind of ridiculous Dumb Multiples. And then there was, like the Creepers, like who's coming up with these stupid-ass names? So Robert Penn, go ahead.
Speaker 1:I was going to say Mickey 18 was basically just Batman.
Speaker 2:Isn't that kind of weird how such different personalities they were too? Yeah, I was like I thought this was going to be the exact same person. Well, they explained that every mickey was kind of different yeah, they mentioned that a little bit, but I'm like how, how is that possible?
Speaker 1:but I don't know I mean, every, every twin has a little different quirk, don't they? I think?
Speaker 2:I guess I read a review in this movie saying this person wished it was a little bit more sci-fi. Do?
Speaker 1:you agree with that or no? I mean, yeah, I wish there was a little bit more anything. I wish something happened.
Speaker 2:I remember thinking I can't wait for this movie to be over. Jeez, louise guy, I disagree with that sci-fi statement. I thought this was a perfect balance between sci-fi and just storytelling in general, because I feel like a lot of times with sci-fi movies it's easy to I'm trying to make it make sense of it, I'm trying to make it make sense of it. It's easy to hide and Hide and it's just driving me nuts. It's easy to no, no, no, I didn't seek. It's easy to like, uh, blend, bend reality and make up your own rules and just like hide plot points within sci-fi movies. If something doesn't make sense, it's like oh, it's okay, it's because the oxygen is like this blah blah and that's why. So I mean, you're focused on like trying to get in this, this sci-fi reality like, say, star wars or dune, for example. Um, you're just making obstacles to distract from actual storytelling, where this movie I felt like had a good depth and characters, uh, very, I think, relatable storylines, like with self-insecurity and stuff like that, running away from your problems, like because this guy had no family or friends. So he's like fuck it, I got nothing to lose and that's how people join the army. And to me, the best part of this movie. The reason I walked out of this movie feeling so energized and so thinking about this movie, I felt like it had.
Speaker 2:The very last line of this movie I felt like was a mic drop, almost what was it.
Speaker 2:And I felt like was like a mic drop, almost what was it. And I'm going to be paraphrasing this, cause I don't know the exact line, but he's, he's like, uh, feeling good about himself, like he, he's, he's living, he has like a purpose to live again. Cause before he never he felt like he didn't have a purpose. Cause like he's just gonna, he's like I felt bad, I felt guilty for all the other mickeys I couldn't save, but I need to let life, you know, go and be happy for a once or something like that, let myself be happy, which is something I struggle with too, like trying to let myself be happy. And that line stuck, that whole like last couple lines stuck with me throughout the rest of the day. Um, even though that really wasn't the general theme of the movie or him trying to feel happy for himself, really, I guess it kind of was. I thought that was a great way to end the movie and it was kind of predictable way to end the movie, obviously like how Mickey 18 was going to sacrifice himself and everything.
Speaker 1:Spoiler alert wow, big spoiler alert it's not, it's not the.
Speaker 2:It's not what's gonna happen, it's how it's gonna happen.
Speaker 1:I felt like they also came across those squirrel-like things, the creepers or whatever on the planet, and those are just a big nothing as well.
Speaker 2:Especially because they weren't like attacking them or anything like that. Yeah, and the whole conversation part between him and Mickey17 as well, especially because they weren't like attacking them or anything like that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and the whole, the whole uh conversation part between him and mickey 17 or the leader of the creepers or whatever, I don't know that that I'll give you.
Speaker 2:That I'll definitely give you that like, like how they just randomly came up with a translator within like a span of was like two hours and then nothing happened it was a whole big battle it just felt very anti-climactic, like I don't know.
Speaker 1:They're like give me back my baby and you killed my other baby, so one of you must die. And it was like like an eye for an eye. I guess so, but like I guess that did happen, but I don't know the way it happened was just I don't know the way it happened wasn't what I was.
Speaker 2:I had higher expectations for this movie, I guess like did you want the monsters to eat one of the characters?
Speaker 1:not necessarily that didn't have to happen, but I guess I wanted them to have a more essential part in the movie than they did. You kind of just saw them and then they kind of came back and that was kind of that.
Speaker 2:Like I said, they went to this planet and then they did nothing on it yeah, and I also wasn't expecting it, because at the end of the movie oh, it's spring, now everything's melting. You couldn't tell me this whole planet is not just made out of ice? I thought the whole planet was just ice.
Speaker 1:That's what people think of Antarctica too.
Speaker 2:Oh, I definitely thought that let's talk about Steven Yeun's character arc a little bit too, because he's on the run as well with Mickey and he kind of tries to betray him. He's like a little asshole in this movie, especially that scene like where he like mickey falls and he's like, hey, I'm just gonna leave you, is that cool?
Speaker 1:he's like yeah, let's just print you out again tomorrow anyway yeah, what a fucking dick yeah, well, you come to find out.
Speaker 2:The only reason why they haven't run away was because of him yeah, yeah, um, how about that scene like where, like the reason they're running away because there's big mobsters after them, and he tells steven's character? It's like, hey, if you show me you chopping up robert's character or mickey into like bits and pieces, I'll let you live. And I was like that sounds like if this was like maybe two weeks beforehand, that would have been an easy job. You know, like, yeah, I would let you to kill me, like if I was Mickey, it's just to get this guy off our backs.
Speaker 1:No, the principle of the thing.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that is true.
Speaker 1:No, yeah, his character was a bastard, but he ended up getting away with everything too.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but pretty much did nothing now, and it was kind of unclear too how he got the better job as a pilot.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he just became a pilot, while Mickey had to become an expend. Know, yeah, he just became a pilot, while mickey had to become an expendable.
Speaker 2:He just became a pilot. All right, I'm not gonna say this movie is gonna be like winning a bunch of ton of awards. I thought this movie was fun. At least you didn't have fun watching this movie no not even the scene where the his girlfriend was like excited to get pegged by two guys the same guy that was fair and she was.
Speaker 1:She was very excited. He was annoyed and she was like, oh, think about how excited you'd be if there was two of me.
Speaker 2:It was like and as she said that I was like, she's got a good point, I mean, and then now how the mickey 18 will start feeling on mickey 17 too I mean yeah, you wouldn't do that no, I definitely wouldn't.
Speaker 1:You wouldn't touch yourself you mean about that twin cest?
Speaker 2:no, I had a blast watching this movie. I kind of want to go back and re-watch this movie alone not alone, but just again for the enjoyment of it. I thought this movie was refreshingly original from studios making like a thousand Fast and Furious movies. I don't think I've seen anything like it, if anything.
Speaker 1:I guess this was original. It was very sad. I would say, this movie is more satire than anything.
Speaker 2:I thought this movie was going to be more of a comedy than what it was Really. I thought it was so much more than just a comedy.
Speaker 1:That's what satire is Kind of funny, but with political undertones. Yeah, thanks for teaching me, damn it, I lost my train of thought. But yeah, I damn it, we were just I lost my train of thought. But yeah, this movie probably might win some awards just because of who's in it and who directed it and just what comes with that kind of stuff. But I don't think it should.
Speaker 2:I mean, I'll give you this come July. I think everyone's gonna forget about this movie. I'll give you that.
Speaker 1:I'll give you that I already forgot about it, you wouldn't watch this movie again I forgot on the bottom of the drive home. Probably not. I'll probably watch it when it hits streaming services in two weeks because it's not gonna have a long theater and then I probably will never watch it again.
Speaker 2:Oh man, I like this movie a lot. I would watch it again. What would you give this movie a 1 out of 10?
Speaker 1:1 out of 10? I'm giving this movie a 2.
Speaker 2:Shut up that fucking low, that low. That is a 1. If it's out of 10, I'll give it a 4. That's still pretty low. I would give this movie a good 7.5 out of 10. You know what I think would have helped a little bit? What If it had a really cool soundtrack?
Speaker 1:Yeah, very forgettable music.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because I don't remember a single song in this whole movie.
Speaker 1:You said there were so many levels to this movie that you liked. I like it a lot, yeah.
Speaker 2:I mean the shots are awesome too, Like him out inside of the space station working on the ship itself. I thought those were really good shots. The CGI I thought was pretty good with the aliens. There's the CGI between Robert Pattinson it looks cool, yeah. The cgi I thought was pretty good with the aliens and, um, there's a cgi between, uh, robert patson working with himself. I thought that was really cool too I thought it was flawless flawless, nice, flawless, good word there.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it definitely looked cool, it was just boring it didn't have to be two and a half hours. So do you think, if anything, it has a chance to win best visuals, the trip there could have definitely been shortened.
Speaker 1:If that movie was an hour and a half, it probably would have been a lot better.
Speaker 2:Let me look up, because I cannot stand, the actress who plays Mark Ruffalo's wife.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I was trying to think of what else I've seen her in.
Speaker 2:I've seen her in a handful of things I know I have. I just can't think of it though. But I couldn't understand her character too. Like one, she's obsessed with those sauces, like you said. On top of that, we didn't even talk about Mark Ruffalo's talk show too. That was randomly on the ship too. I thought that was kind of stupid to have it in this movie. Toni Collette have in this movie, uh, tony collette, who plays yella yelfa y l f a. She was, in the sixth sense, juror number two. That's probably what I just seen her most recently. She was actually pretty good in that. Have you seen that movie?
Speaker 1:jury number two, nothing on my nicholas halt yeah yes, I have that's a good one.
Speaker 2:She's a a detective, I guess, who was like another detective lawyer who catches him at the end.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that movie has a big surprise in it. Is that an M Night Shyamalan movie?
Speaker 2:Journal number two. No, that's who directed the Mule, clint Eastwood. Clint Eastwood movie.
Speaker 1:Oh.
Speaker 2:He's a good director. He's pretty good. He's pretty good Are you big Harrison Ford.
Speaker 1:Huh, I was about to say Grant Turner makes me cry.
Speaker 2:Okay, have you seen Harrison? Are you a big Harrison Ford fan? Yeah, have you seen the Harrison Ford fan? Yeah, have you seen the sad news about him? He was supposed to be a presenter at the Oscars, but the day of, or the day before, he got diagnosed with sickles. I saw oh that sucks.
Speaker 1:Yeah, is that yeah? Yeah, that's unfortunate. I was gonna ask what that is, but I don't know.
Speaker 2:I don't know the signals either um mickey 17. I recommend going watching it, but don't ask brandon because he'll say no I recommend seeing it.
Speaker 1:I would tell people at work to see it.
Speaker 2:Still, I was like you know, I was bored, but you know you might feel differently about it you were literally the only person I've known who's seen, who's seen this movie and just did not give a fuck about it. And it's not because of Robert Panson. Robert Panson's great in it. I felt like I see, I can see some of your points. Not a lot did happen, but I felt like there was a lot of emotions in it that you probably just didn't catch up on. But, like I said, robert Panson's a great actor and we're going to talk about his performance a little bit in this next movie too. We're going to be talking about Tenet. It came out in 2020.
Speaker 1:This is like one of the first movies that came out in theaters.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's a COVID film. It's a COVID movie, christopher Nolan movie. This is a big budget movie. This movie is about armed with only the word tenant and fighting for the survival of the entire world CIA operative. The protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionages and a global mission that unfolds beyond. This movie was confusing as hell. This movie was, uh, written, written and directed by chris finnell. Let's just say that, too. There were a couple people who I I what. I watched this movie. I was like, oh shit, this guy's in this movie too. That's pretty cool, yeah, but some of the people I was excited to see that I didn't know in this movie was. One of them was himish patel, who plays me, matt meyer, the guy who crashes the plane into the building. I love that guy as an actor.
Speaker 1:He's a guy who stars in yesterday uh, yeah, he's gonna be in be in the new Christopher Nolan movie as well. He's going to be the only guy in the Odyssey that remembers the Beatles, aaron Taylor Johnson was in this movie.
Speaker 2:I wasn't expecting to see him in this movie.
Speaker 1:And obviously.
Speaker 2:I love John David Washington, who's famously for his father, denzel. Denzel Washington, thank you Sorry, I was blanking on it. Denzel Washington, have you seen him in the Black Klansman? I have not seen that. Oh my gosh, it's a true story With him and starring him in. I'm so blanking on names. The guy who was in the Star Wars villain in the newer ones.
Speaker 2:Adam Driver him in Adam Driver and also Topher Grace in that movie who plays the leader of the Klansmen. He goes undercover to be. It's set in the 70s. Let's say he gets up on the phone with the KKK and he ends up like kind of joining through the phone but he's black, so he can't show up. In the 70s, let's say he gets up on the phone with the KKK and he ends up joining through the phone but he's black, so he can't show up in person. So Adam Draver, who's another cop, fills in for him. So one's there in person. It's a good-ass fucking movie. I don't want to give away too much. I say it's on Tubi. I want to watch it, you should. Robert Pattinson in this movie. Elizabeth DeBecke who plays Cat. I had my phone out the entire time watching this movie. I'm going to take notes on what I like and what I don't like. I have one thing on my phone and it was like oh, it starts off with immediate action. I was confused as fuck for most of this whole movie.
Speaker 1:Because you were so drawn into the action you couldn't take notes.
Speaker 2:No, I couldn't take notes because, like one, I could barely understand what the fuck they were saying well, yeah, because they're speaking in, uh, palindrones and uh what's the other one?
Speaker 1:what's like a word spelled backwards and means something else no, it wasn't that.
Speaker 2:It was just like him talking Through the mass.
Speaker 1:I could I try to turn on subtitles, it's still could barely understand them death to subtitles, but but, yeah, but once you just figure out that he's actually the fact. First off, never even know this dude's name. His name is. He doesn't have a name in the movie. He's called the protagonist just because that's what he is.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and you know what, Watching the movie, I guess I didn't put it like never thought about that.
Speaker 1:Even in the credits it just says protagonist he doesn't have a name.
Speaker 2:He does call himself protagonist, though, in the movie.
Speaker 1:Does he?
Speaker 2:Yeah, when he's talking to that, um, that that boss lady, um he's telling her about he's, she's basically telling him like yeah, you're just a pawn in my plan, and he's like so on the protagonist, and that's how I described himself makes sense.
Speaker 1:Um, but yeah, but once you figure out that he's actually, he actually was the one that recruited himself in the beginning of the movie to try to kill himself, to recruit himself and to tenant, to then recruit robert pattinson, to then save him later in the movie, just to find out that he's actually the creator tenant.
Speaker 2:You understand the whole thing it's yeah, once you figure that part out. This guy must have been smoking when he was fucking making this movie or writing this movie christopher nolan has an obsession with time.
Speaker 1:His obsession with time is weird, but it has generated classic films now, wasn't?
Speaker 2:he like, uh, didn't he do that? Really not a caprio movie where inception, inception interstellar man.
Speaker 1:Christopher nolan is the best director of our time.
Speaker 2:I would back you up on that. I would 100% agree with you his filmography is crazy. The Dark Knight trilogy, this movie how many times have you seen this movie? Three times yeah, I definitely say you need to watch it more than once to fully appreciate it. I've seen it just once, but my thing is is like it didn't capture my interest enough to go back and re-watch it, though you know that's very interesting that this movie didn't capture your interest, but the last movie did like things happen in this movie.
Speaker 2:Like robert madden's is a badass in this movie he is and what a totally different character he plays in this one, isn't it? Yeah, that really just showcases his acting. On top of that, this guy was Edward in fucking Twilight.
Speaker 1:Edward in Twilight, cedric Diggory in Harry Potter. He was the first death of Baltimore, damn what's her more that death or the Twilight? He didn didn't die in twilight, no no, he did not die in twilight, but definitely the cedric diggory death, the my boy.
Speaker 2:That hurts, that hits are you excited about the new harry potter series? No, no, me neither. Um, let's go back into this movie. It's like I I want to go through the movie, but I can't even know where to begin. Who I didn't like in this movie was Kat Elizabeth DeBuckie. I cannot stand her character in this movie. I felt she played this role so fucking boring. So boring. Like she didn't, I was like your life is at stake here, bitch. Give me something to feel on. You know, how do you feel about that? Or do you think she did pretty good?
Speaker 1:no, I think her character kind of sucked.
Speaker 2:I thought that was kind of the point of her character, though yeah, cause she was like the whole world's gonna die, including my boy. I was like bitch, the world's gonna end. No one, including your boy's gonna be. Yeah, obviously your boy's not gonna be saved.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's kind of funny that this whole thing took place around uh, a terrorist attack in kviv too, and then like two years later like actual war ukraine's happening.
Speaker 2:yeah, we stay off of politics in this pocket, you know. One thing I didn't notice, though, was like anytime the protagonist met up with anybody, they're always meeting the most randomest fucking spots, like walking, like there was one, like he's meeting that boss lady on a boat, and the next scene they're off the boat. Like where are we meeting in these random-ass spots? I was like how are you finding the time to track down all these people? I don't know. I lost sense of time, just normal time, because is this going a week-long process? Is this a month-long process or years? What's going on?
Speaker 1:Who knows? There is no concept of time. Time moves forward and backwards. Bullets are flying forwards and backwards. That's how they're able to know where everything's at, because they already knew where it was at before they knew where it was at.
Speaker 2:The villain in this movie a little bit. Is it Andrew? No, that's not Andrew. Who's the villain in this movie. I can't think of this guy's name. The villain, I mean like the guy.
Speaker 1:He ends up fighting the guy like a cat's wife or cat husband. I mean, uh, andrea, or whatever, stay tour, or something.
Speaker 2:I liked him a lot in this movie. I thought he was pretty badass in this movie.
Speaker 1:Yeah, everybody was kind of badass in this movie.
Speaker 2:Yeah, everybody was kind of badass in this movie. I mean, let's talk about the fight. Choreography alone really. I mean the fighting was very unique. My favorite fight scene wasn't even a reverse time one, it was like the kitchen where Cat was trying to get him killed. He was fighting, he beat off like five guys with no sweat. I really like the opening scene of this movie the like rescuing and the you know the whole bomb threat thing yeah, then he's getting tortured, captured and tortured and then takes that suicide bill and it wakes up yeah, that was kind of confusing me too, like it just all happened way too fast.
Speaker 2:This whole movie is very, very, very fast paced, like you really gotta be on your toes to watch it and I knew, go ahead.
Speaker 1:I was gonna say because everything's happening now, but it already happened in the past yeah, you said that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I, I want to go back. I'll give it another shot to re-watch this movie. What would you give this movie one out of you? Give this movie a 1 out of 10?. Give this movie a 1 out of 10?
Speaker 1:I'll give this one more of a 6. Yeah, I'll give this a 6. I was going to say just because the action was cool. If you watch this movie and try not to understand the plot of anything and just watch it because bullets are flying everywhere and people are kicking ass and Robert Pattinson looks cool, then yeah, it's a cool movie, it's a fun movie. But then once you put the concept to time and everything I'm not smart enough to know about that stuff.
Speaker 2:I mean, I think Christopher Nolan definitely made this movie for the cinema buffs, like, who really appreciate film, but for the average moviegoer I was like it's gonna go over their heads, like it's hard for most people to see his vision with this movie. I feel like, but he, he has a vision and then it's incredible, he's trying to do something very unique which he did unique in this movie and, um, it's something, I guess, worth re-watching, so I'll give it another shot but what are you giving it stars out I'd probably give it a six out of ten too.
Speaker 2:Like you said, it's action's good, like it's directing style is pretty good. But the only thing, some of the characters' chemistry didn't seem that good to me. I feel like in this movie I could totally tell you guys are acting versus like, oh shit, you guys are real friends, you know.
Speaker 1:Well, I don't think they were supposed to be friends in the movie per se.
Speaker 2:Well, not like friends, but I mean like, oh, I don't believe this. This, this connection is genuine. But yeah, that's my only pet peeve about this movie. Besides like the confusing timelines. Um, it had a pretty decent well. There was no soundtrack really, besides like intense music the entire time interesting that this movie bored you, but making 17 um.
Speaker 1:So Christopher Nolan is no, it's like Interesting.
Speaker 2:Interesting that this movie bored you, but 2017 did so. Christopher Nolan is known. It's like we've seen this with a lot of his movies, like it's almost like he takes it as a challenge to pick actors that he likes, and he's like you know what. I think you deserve to win an award, so I want to put you in my movie. We've seen that with Kieran Murphy, christian Bale you know people like that to win an award, so I want to put you in my movie. We've seen that with Kieran Murphy, um, uh, christian Bale, you know stuff. Like people like that, like who's who stars in this movie and they become very successful afterwards and I thought, I think, and I felt like he's going to have that same effect on um.
Speaker 2:I think these actors were pretty big before him but he does stick with the same group of actors. Yeah, and you said some of these people are going to be in the odyssey. Robert panther's gonna be in the odyssey too.
Speaker 2:Yeah, christian bale was already a pretty big actor before he met up with christopher nolan but john david washington, I mean I I talked about that one movie I really liked him in. I can think of maybe like three, four movies tops of movies I've seen him in him in. I can think of maybe like three, four movies tops of movies I've seen him in, and I don't think I've seen him in anything besides this movie, I mean since then since 2020?
Speaker 1:yeah, I can't think of anything he's been.
Speaker 2:He's a great actor and I would love to see him in more. I mean, I don't know if you've seen concept art. They got leaks for the new avenger movies. I want to say it's him. There's a concept art as like a multiversal Black Panther. That's him.
Speaker 1:Are you excited for those new Avenger movies?
Speaker 2:I am. I am you know what. I wasn't that excited for Captain America movie and then there should no be too. But I'm actually kind of excited for the Thunderbolts coming out pretty soon.
Speaker 1:Those are movies that storylines get watered down with sci-fi yeah, yeah, I give you not star wars I didn't like that example. You said star wars and doom, those were two bad examples. Now they're bringing back iron man to bring to be doomed because there are a lot of options.
Speaker 2:Chris Evans returning is something there's rumors that he is, but he's denying those rumors. But we also seen, like every other hero I mean other actor deny and they end up in the movie too. So who knows, at this point Fantastic Four is going to be great. I'm excited for Fantastic Four. What other movies are you I'm excited for.
Speaker 1:Fantastic Four that was good.
Speaker 2:What other movies are you excited for coming out this year?
Speaker 1:This year, that Novocaine is coming out this week yeah, I'm excited.
Speaker 2:I like Jack Quaid. I like that. I'm seeing him in more movies now. Yeah, I want to see the Companion still. I just see now. I think that's streaming on fandango, but I'm sure you gotta pay for that.
Speaker 1:But yeah, no, that's out for rent. I want to see that. Um is avatar 3. Is that coming out this year? I believe so in the winter time uh, 28 years later, that's gonna be a good one. Um the odys I don't think that's coming out this year, no.
Speaker 2:I think that's starting to film in the summertime or something. Which Avengers is coming out, secret War, or I think it's Doomsday and then Secret Wars, or is that one this year? No, none of them are this year. Doomsday is filming this year.
Speaker 1:What Marvel movies are set to come out this year?
Speaker 2:There's Thunderbolts, there's one more, oh, fantastic Four. I think there's only three this year.
Speaker 1:Oh, what's that new Michael B Jordan movie coming out?
Speaker 2:It's coming out in April. That does look pretty interesting. I'm excited to see that Also the guy who directed Black Panther, ryan Coogler. He's a good director. I'm sorry, but that one looks pretty good too.
Speaker 1:I'm seeing War of Combat 2 here with Johnny Cage. That'd be awesome.
Speaker 2:Superman, superman's going to be good. Did you see? They announced the Hancock 2?.
Speaker 1:Did they? Yeah, oh, megan 2.0. I'm ready for that one. Oh yeah, I'm sure.
Speaker 2:uh, final destination that one I'm actually very excited for. I'm excited for that one. That's a nice little reboot there's a lot of there's a lot of good movies coming out this year actually, yeah how about the fact that marlon wayne's you know he's talking about the new scary movie Six? I believe it's coming out Are you excited for that movie?
Speaker 1:I mean, yeah, I hope so, but he also teased.
Speaker 2:After that movie they said they're going to be considering making White Chicks 2.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's the one I'm not so excited for. I saw a good tweet about that movie. It said you know, sometimes you just have to realize something worked because it came out in 2004.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I can see that, but if anyone who had a good chance of doing it, I would say it's the Wayne Brothers.
Speaker 1:I agree, I agree, and I'm happy that they're still a control scary movie. I think that's going to be good.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, it's going to be very good, I think. What movies do you want to see them? Parody Do I want to see them?
Speaker 1:parody.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Hmm, they're definitely a parody movie I want to see Probably the Conjuring movies.
Speaker 2:I can see them doing.
Speaker 1:Yeah, what would be like their main base movie, that parody, because the first one was scream, the second one was clue.
Speaker 2:I'm trying to think what the third one was I mean, do you think they'll tackle like the song?
Speaker 1:no, I think the fourth one was soft yeah, that's what shack.
Speaker 2:and uh, dr phil, I'm trying to think what the main like. When it was World of War.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I think that was three, I don't know. Maybe, like Nosferatu, I can see that being a joke.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but yeah.
Speaker 1:I'm trying to think of what big movie they could parody really.
Speaker 2:They could take all the Michael Myers movies.
Speaker 1:Oh, that would be a good one actually. Yeah, or it the clown movies.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I can see them doing that petty-wise. Or if they did an MCU parody, Didn't they do the the epic movie? But that wasn't the one. That wasn't the Wayne brothers. I don't think Was that an MC?
Speaker 1:parody. Yeah, and also the one with Drake bell, I was watching that the other night. I was just about to say that superhero movie yeah.
Speaker 2:That movie's hilarious Kevin Arsenault went to yeah.
Speaker 1:I'm seeing here they're also making that animal farm movie.
Speaker 2:That should be good. Yeah, they're also making a couple live action, like Lilo Stitch is coming out this year.
Speaker 1:Oh, did you watch that new Spongebob movie, the one that just came out on Netflix. Like last week planked in the movie oh no, I haven't seen that one.
Speaker 2:Did you just recently watch a?
Speaker 1:Spongebob movie. I just rewatched the original SpongeBob SquarePants movie and when Cindy was like Daddy no, and I was like whoa? I was like who's this voicing Cindy? And she's like Daddy the crown? And I'm like, oh my God. And I have looked it up and I saw it was Scarlett Johansson, and I was like kid, though. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:And that movie came out in 2003. You know what? This is weird, but I started playing my PlayStation more too, and I downloaded the SpongeBob game that I had when I was a kid. I've been having fun with that game too. Damn was that 2003?
Speaker 1:Could be. Oh shit, shit. I'm seeing now you see me three this year, nice that's gonna be a good one.
Speaker 2:I'm a big fan of those movies.
Speaker 1:I love those movies. Oh yeah, the the weekend his movies coming out this year, hurry up tomorrow.
Speaker 2:I don't. I seen the trailer for that. I don't know what the fuck the plot is of that oh yeah, jurassic World is coming out this year.
Speaker 1:That's what Scarlett Johansson too.
Speaker 2:yeah, Is she, yeah, she stars in it.
Speaker 1:Damn good for her.
Speaker 2:She's gonna have a big payday this year. The Strangers Part 2?. Yeah, that movie flopped hard last year.
Speaker 1:The Black Phone 2? No movie flopped hard Craven, I didn't even know that it came out.
Speaker 2:Yeah, the movie. I shouldn't say that because I didn't watch it.
Speaker 1:I saw it on Prime. I'm like when the hell did this even drop? It came out in December. I didn't even hear nothing about it.
Speaker 2:That's like that Russo Brothers movie that just came out. With Chris Pratt on Netflix. Chris Pratt on Netflix, chris Pratt's in it, yeah, and Millie Bobby Brown.
Speaker 1:Wow, I don't even know the title of it.
Speaker 2:I don't remember what the title is, but it's on Netflix. It just came out this week, I think.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I saw it had a $300 million budget. I never even heard of it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, the marketing wasn't good for it too.
Speaker 1:Because if I wasn't good for it too, because if I wasn't like constantly on top of the movie news, I wouldn't have known it either. That's like, that's like that movie, the red one, or whatever big red one. They just gotta stop throwing these 300 million dollar movies out like that unless you're christopher nolan and I say that he deserves it. We deserve our ensemble cast movie. It's been a while.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you know what's coming out as third Knives Out movie. I was talking to somebody about those. It'll be cool to just pump those out once a year but have an all-star cast in each movie. That'll be sick.
