The Canadiens started their California trip in San Jose last night. The Habs went back with goalie Jakub Dobes who went into that game with a 9-0-2 record over his last 11. But...it wasn't a good nice at the office for the Habs or their goalie. San Jose jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the 3rd period but to the Habs credit, they clawed their way back
A power play goal and the 2nd of the night from Alex Newhook and we had ourselves a game. It was less than 6min later than San Jose would get the lead back and hold on.
Macklin Celebrini scored his 30th goal of the season and had three assists for the San Jose Sharks, who recovered late beat the Montreal Canadiens 7-5. Alex Newhook scored two goals, and Mike Matheson had three assists for the Canadiens, who had their seven-game point streak end. Jake Evans had two assists, and Jakub Dobes made 21 saves.
