One win away from the NBA Finals baby!  10 straight playoff wins. No losses in a month!

A 3-0 lead can make people start daydreaming, but this Knicks run is more than vibes. After a convincing Game 3 win in Cleveland, I talk through how New York keeps stacking double-digit road wins and why the 2026 NBA playoffs are starting to look like a full-team takeover. The score matters, sure, but the bigger story is how calm the Knicks look while doing it. Even when Cleveland makes it interesting for a stretch, New York answers without forcing bad shots or falling into hero ball.

I dig into the players driving the momentum, starting with Mikal Bridges and the way his defense and timely buckets keep the Knicks steady. Jalen Brunson drops 30, yet the most impressive part is that he doesn’t need to go full Superman late because the offense keeps producing clean looks. Landry Shamet’s open threes, the ball movement, and the “different guy every night” feel are becoming the defining traits of this postseason. I also get honest about what still needs tightening, including where Deuce McBride fits and why depth is going to matter even more as the competition rises.

Then I zoom out to the stakes: no team has ever come back from 3-0 in NBA history, but the Knicks still have to finish the job. I look ahead to the potential NBA Finals matchup, whether it’s San Antonio with Victor Wembanyama or the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and why that next stage will be a grind no matter what. Welcome And Game 3 Setup

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to Jersey Guy Sports, sports talk home for the Yanks, the Giants, the Knicks, the Rangers, and the Ruckers Collin Knights. And I'm your host, Don. I want to thank you for listening. Today I'll be talking about the New York Knicks who pulled away from the Cavs in Game 3 and route to a convincing 121-103 victory in game three of the Eastern Conference Finals. Let's go ahead and get started.

Knicks Pull Away And Stay Ahead

SPEAKER_00

The surging New York Knickerbockers continue to steamroll their opponents in the 2026 postseason, and they beat Cleveland 121 to 108 in game three of the Eastern Conference Finals. The New York Knicks are now up three games to none, and their postseason demolition just continues. The Knicks are a force. That gives them 10 consecutive wins in the postseason. The Knicks have won 10 straight playoff games. They have not lost a game in over a month, and they continue not just to win, but win in impressive fashion. And in this game, it was never in doubt, honestly. There was some tight spots early in the game and in the first half, but the Knicks seemed like they were in control almost from the second quarter on in this game. Really from parts of the first quarter on. He continues to impress after a season that was not great after the first couple games of the Atlanta series that were definitely poor. Mikhail Bridges has been a huge part of the New York Knicks' success. And his play continues to help drive the New York Knicks to victory. And it did again tonight. Brunson had a pretty good game. Nothing particularly special for him, even though he ended with 30 points and had some pretty good numbers all over. He wasn't forced to be Superman down the stretch. You know, the Knicks were never really pressed into, you know, clutch time where Brunson had to hit a shot. It just seemed like the Knicks made the plays all the time. You know, he would drive in, maybe they'd miss a shot, or he'd kick it out to Landry Shamet, who'd hit a big three. Another good game for Shamet, who continues to hit open threes and really contribute offensively. Again, another example of the staple that has been the New York Knicks offense in the postseason, and that is everybody sharing the ball, everybody being a hero from time to time. Last game it was Josh Hart. This game I'd say it was more Bridges and Brunson, but also, you know, other people played well too. OGN and Obi hit some big shots. Kat at times played pretty well, even though he didn't score a ton, but he had some big rebounds, he had a couple good assists, played well defensively, had a couple steals, and the New York Knicks continue to roll on. They mentioned on the road the Knicks their last five road games, they're five and oh, and they won each of those games by more than ten points. So their last five road games have resulted in double-digit victories for the Knicks in every game.

Up 3-0 And History Looms

SPEAKER_00

And you let that sink in for a minute, you think, God damn, that is pretty damn good. And for the New York Knicks, who are now up three games to nothing in the Eastern Conference Finals, you don't want to make your plans too soon for the finals, because certainly no one wants to be that team, right? But let's face it, the facts are the facts. No NBA team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the playoffs in NBA history. So obviously, it would be an ignominious, awful, terrible, you know, fallout if the Knicks somehow manage to not make it to the NBA Finals. So I'm gonna assume that somehow they're gonna win one of the last four games. Probably, you know, there's a fair chance they may sweep in four. But the Knicks are on their way, essentially, to the NBA Finals at this point, and deservedly so. And the Knicks continue to look stronger and stronger as the playoffs go on. And a huge turning point was obviously game one of this series with Cleveland, being down 22 points with seven minutes left in the game and coming back to win that game, it seemed to break the spirit of the Cavaliers. And the Knicks took that on to a relatively easy game two win at the garden. This game was never really in doubt, even though Cleveland made it somewhat close at times. It never really felt like they were threatening. They got it to within, I don't know, three points, one point at some point late in the second quarter. But then the third quarter started with the Knicks strong again. They pulled away a little more, and the and Cleveland never really made it close enough for Knicks fans to be worried from that point on. Let's face it, you know, had Detroit won game seven against Cleveland, this would be a quite different story we'd be talking about now. It's hard to imagine the Knicks would be up on Detroit three games to nothing, right? But Cleveland won that game seven, and here we are, and and the Knicks are just about poised to hit the NBA Finals. But you gotta think if, you know, the Knicks opened up on the road in Detroit, had to play games one and two in Detroit, you're hoping they get one of two because Detroit just demolished the Knicks all season, right? Every game was a disaster for the Knicks. Now, obviously, the Knicks weren't healthy in all the games, but you know, obviously they're not gonna be up 3-0 on Detroit. So certainly, I don't know if it's a bit of luck, but it's certainly a great matchup for the Knicks, Cleveland is compared to Detroit. And

The Rotation Depth That Wins

SPEAKER_00

as you look at this Knicks team, you think about a lot of strengths. You think that they have a lot of depth, there's depth in the front court with Mitchell Robinson, even though the Hakomitch is a continued, ongoing, big problem. You know, there's depth at the strong forwards, there's depth at guard. You love seeing Landry Shaman come in, Deuce McBride, especially if he can start to play better. I think I think Deuce has got to get a little more in the flow and hit some more shots because I think he is gonna be needed at times. Shamit is great, but I just you don't know how long he's gonna continue to hit the shot after shot. You know, at some game, you know, some important game in the finals probably, you know, we're gonna need someone to come in and just start reining some threes. And and Deuce McBride certainly has the ability to do that. We've seen that over and over in the season. Since he got hurt and has come back, he just has not had that same feel, particularly from three. And I'm waiting for that to happen. Maybe it takes time, maybe it's the fact that he's maybe not getting as many minutes as he's used to. Whatever it is, it is, right? We have Alvarado come in in the backcourt as sort of an aggressive defender. You know, that's something that we haven't had as much, even if he doesn't contribute that much offensively. You have Josh Hart, depending on the game, you know, fills all the boxes and occasionally scores a lot. Carl Anthony Towns continues to light up, you know, the scorecard. And you and you have lots of other contributors up and down the lineup. OG does what he does all the time and just is, you know, brilliant defensively, will probably be, you know, one of the better playoff performers on all told up here, despite his injury. And and obviously you have Brunson, right? You have the superstar of superstars in the playoffs, and that is I say that without equivocation.

Why Brunson Owns Crunch Time

SPEAKER_00

I I don't know that I would want anyone else on my team. And obviously you can say, Yeah, I want Wemby, right? Because it's hard to argue, not that. You know, I you could say you want SGA, even though the more you watch SGA, you think, you know, he's more like he scores a fair amount and then just tries to draw fouls and flops the other half the time, right? And it's just he's the most annoying, like good player you'll ever see in your life because he's such a flopper. But when I say that I'd rather have Brunson than almost anyone, I think I would because there are people better than him, you know, as the early quarters go on and in in various parts of the games. But when there's five minutes left and your team is down seven, or there's one minute left and it's a tie game, or there's ten seconds left and you're down two, there isn't a single player in basketball that I want with their hands on the ball more than I want Jalen Brunson to have it. He is Captain Clutch, and he's continuing to be clutch this season and this postseason. So when you add that all up and you step back and you think about the New York Knicks, you gotta feel pretty good. And at this point, Knicks fans have to be in seventh heaven because this game could have gone either way. I think Vegas had the Knicks' underdogs in this game, but it wasn't to be. And in the end, it wasn't even that close. 121, 108, another double-digit win for the New York Knicks on the road. 3-0 in the series, 10 consecutive wins in the postseason, haven't lost a game in a month. The Knicks are doing it, baby. The Knicks are doing it. They are one game away from the NBA Finals, and it's just jubilation if you're a Knicks fan. It's very, very happy, and obviously there is work to

Finals Matchups And What Comes Next

SPEAKER_00

do. Assuming the Knicks get by the Cavaliers in one of the next one, two, three, or four games, god forbid, you know, whoever they play in the NBA finals is gonna be a tough, tough, tough matchup, and they will probably be underdogs in the finals no matter who it is. San Antonio has just looked unbeatable. Obviously, Oklahoma City is the reigning NBA champs and barely have lost any games the entire postseason. So whoever it ends up being, it's gonna be a very tough matchup for the Knicks. But boy, I'll tell you what it will be. The NBA finals, assuming the Knicks get there, are gonna be some of the highest-rated NBA finals in a long, long time because San Antonio has a big following and a clear superstar of the league in Wemby. Obviously, Oklahoma City is the reigning NBA champs, and they have the reigning NBA NVP and SGA, and then you have the Knicks and Brunson and Kat. And I gotta tell you, the NBA Finals, if it ends up being the Knicks and whoever, is gonna be brilliant when it comes to ratings and just, you know, a real spectacle across the board. But that's putting the cart before the horse. The Knicks have to get one more victory. Here's hoping they get it on Monday night, which is when game four in Cleveland. Let's go, Knicks, baby.
