That's right. We are here and we are back. Ladies and gentlemen, this is WICS, the voice of Burlington County, and I'm your host, Jim Holliday. I want to get into something that the afternoon show on WIP touched on and Brodes was touching on before we signed on. And that is which team of the four major sports in Philly, Phillies, Flyers, Sixers, Eagles, would you like to see win a championship? Now, let's account for something. The Philadelphia Phillies won a championship in 08. The Eagles have won multiple championships. The Flyers have not won a championship in over 50 years. And the 76ers have not won a championship in over 40 years. So let's take those two into consideration. Sixers get LeBron LeBron. Listen to me, I can't even get his name out. Sixers get LeBron James and Jalen Brown. Flyers try to get Carlson. Leo Carlson from Anaheim. The offer sheet was matched. So we didn't get him. We did improve the backup goaltender position. So if I was gonna vote for who would I want to see win championships these days? It would be in disorder. We're gonna take the Phillies out of it. We're gonna take the Eagles out of it. And we're only gonna deal with the Flyers and the Sixers. And those are the only two teams that I want to see win a championship because they have the longest droughts.

When the Philadelphia 76ers won a championship, Luke Nichols was not around, Hunter Brody was not around.

SPEAKER_01

When the Philadelphia Flyers won a championship, Hunter Brody was not around, and neither was Luke Nichols.

SPEAKER_00

I was around for both championships. The first one I was in diapers when the Flyers won. I was in diapers in 75. They got back in 76, didn't win it. The last time they were winning a championship was 1975.

SPEAKER_01

I was five years old. Think about that. Sixers won in 1983. I was 13 when they won a championship. So I am now 55. It's been over 30 plus years since the Sixers and Flyers have won championships.

SPEAKER_00

Flyers, it's been over 50, and the Sixers, it's been at least 40 or more. I want to see the Flyers and the Sixers at least try to win a championship. Sixers put themselves in great position to do just that. Getting rid of the Paul George contract and signing Jalen Brown and getting LeBron James. Flyers, it's an improvement, even though we didn't get Leo Carlson. We will see how far they can go this year.

SPEAKER_01

Based off what I just said, Flyers and Sixers tied for who I would like to see win championships in my lifetime.

SPEAKER_00

Because I haven't seen those two teams win a championship in very, very long times. That, my friends, is who deserves championships at this hour of the day, at this time of the month, in August, before all these seasons start up. Eagles great. They won championships. If they win another one, it's great. It's wonderful. I'm not saying it's not. But Sixers and Flyers have not won championships in a very, very long time.

SPEAKER_01

So those two teams are the teams I want to see at least attempt to win one. And there you go. Okay, ladies and gentlemen, let's fast forward from last Tuesday to now. Last Tuesday I sat and waited for my replacement iPhone till 6.30 at night. My phone battery had been dying, like I mentioned on the last podcast. So it finally shows up on Tuesday night at 6.30. So I fast forward to yesterday, and I ordered a couple of days ago, I ordered a battery pack for my phone for on the go, and I ordered some USB-powered speakers. As it turned out, the guy that dropped off my phone, dropped off the speakers and the battery pack. In the confusion of all this, my air conditioner had been set to energy saver. I kept trying to turn the energy saver off. As a result, I turned the thermostat on the air conditioner all the way up to eighty-eight degrees. That is not going to help in hot weather. So the UAPS driver who dropped off my packages adjusted it for me.
