Just Us: Before, Birth, and Beyond

Season 4, Episode 2: Amniotic Fluid Embolism Foundation

MAHEC Season 4 Episode 2

In this episode, Katlyn Moss talks to Emily Taylor from the AFE Foundation about the pregnancy complication of Amniotic Fluid Embolism, and how the AFE Foundation helps to support and educate medical professionals. Emily shares her own story about surviving AFE and how this experience inspired her to dedicate herself to raising awareness. You will learn what AFE is, why it is often difficult to diagnose, and how it affects the patient, their family, and their care team.  Emily will also provide resources to educate health care workers about AFE and ways you can join in the effort to further research this condition. She will also talk about the AFE Foundation Hotline- a direct call for assistance and guidance in managing and treating AFE.
