Michael Augustus, Funeral Director and Embalmer
Pre-Need (Part 2) and, Forthcoming Book: "So, You Want to Become a Mortician"
Pre-Need is a 'Must Have!' It will follow you to your demise/death. If you obtain a Pre-Need in Texas, for example, and you move to New Jersey, what happens to your money, your pre-need? Will you lose your money or pre-need? No. Regardless, if you purchased your pre-need from a funeral home or mortuary in your community, and you relocate to another city, the receiving funeral home or mortuary MUST accept the pre-need plan at the original cost. However, if items are added to the original pre-need plan, those items will be charged to the new Funeral Purchase Agreement.
I highly encourage you to meet with a licensed funeral director in your community and pre-plan your funeral arrangements, cremations, memorial service, or body donation.
