100: My Mistakes and Triumphs From 100 Episodes
We’re celebrating 100 episodes for the WOC & Allies: Business & Career Realtalk Podcast.
And since this podcast has the word “realtalk” in the title -- just wanted to share I was not looking cute recording this episode. I was wearing a Dodgers snuggie (a snuggie is a blanket with arm holes), a bun and PJs.
This podcast has absolutely evolved from 2 years ago when I first launched it in March 2022. I thought i had to follow what everyone was doing:
- Having to put makeup on each time I hit record
- Script it word-to-word cause I’m a recovering perfectionist
- Have guests cause no one would be interested in listening to what I have to say
2 years and 100 episodes later:
- Been awarded 2 times as a Top Career Podcast by Mac’s List
- Will have my most downloaded episodes this month from solo episodes with no video and no guests
- Intentionally said no to being part of a big podcast network
My recent podcast episode, My Mistakes & Triumphs from 100 Episodes, is a quick 22-minute podcast episode where I shared my evolution of how I learned to embrace being myself and how I’ve stayed focused to my 2 goals of this podcast:
- Provide free, accessible education to others
- Give a chance for those interested in working with me and my team to get to know me better not just as a coach, but as a human
What We Cover in This Episode:
- Why my podcast name has made it easy for everyone to find my podcast (Hint: SEO)
- How I embraced doing what was enough for me which meant from switching from weekly to bi-weekly podcast episodes
- All my mistakes including thinking I needed guests when I just needed to be myself (The result: I will have my highest podcast downloads this month from solo episodes)
