From Sparks to Light - Inspiring Stories for Challenging Times

The Missing Piece - Martha Engber

Season 2 Episode 38

You go about the business of living. Husband, family, house in the suburbs. The ingredients of a happy life. Just like the one you were raised in, right? And then one day, something happens that makes you question all of it.

Martha Engber is the author of Bliss Road, her upcoming memoir about the journey to answer those questions. Her efforts to discover the missing piece that was hidden in plain sight and the struggle to find the words to put it all together. It is the story of the heartbreaking pain experienced as the result of being raised by a neurotypical father with undiagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder, and the ultimate journey to heal. In Bliss Road she offers a path that opens the door for healing, not only for herself but for others as well.

Bliss Road, Martha’s fifth book, will be released in June. When she’s not writing, editing or giving workshops, she spends her time on her surfboard, bike or two feet, on the road to a more blissful life.
