I love your work and I love that you highlight a modern seeker, because I feel like we all are seeking at some level. But I'd love to just know from your viewpoint what does modern seeker mean to you?

Well, most all of us in this age have a foundation of faith, or so many do. But once, the nice thing about having a foundation of faith is, you can build on that. And a lot of people, many people, believe that there has to be more, there just has to be. I read a post recently and it said I don't want to just believe, I want to know. And I have felt that way most all of my life.

For 2,000 years we've had faith, we've been told to have faith. For 2,000 years we've had faith, we've been told to have faith, we've been taught to have faith. But people and and you people know that there has to be more, there must be more. And you see the the, the less interest in organized religion and people are kind of drifting away from organized religion and into more spiritual information. And when you get into your own spirit, guide, spirit, teachers, master teachers same thing as angels, just viewed from a different perspective then people realize that they're not alone and that they can be guided, led, directed, supported. I'd slow down up ahead if I were you. I wouldn't buy that car if I were you. Where does that come from? And we're helped, we're spoken to.

We are, and especially if we clear out the noise. I feel like I've spent a lot of time clearing out the noise and really working to be in the present moment. For me, that's been such a gift to be a better listener, to really hear the whispers that are being presented to me, to pay attention to the information that's crossing my path.

Well, most all of us receive, usually in thought we're all spoken to and I tell people that an incoming thought, a thought from your spirit teachers, has a different feel in your mind than a thought that you think it's subtle. It's a subtle difference, but once you recognize that, you can separate your thoughts from the thoughts that are incoming. The only problem is we have that pesky little gift called free will and we can accept or reject any advice, guidance, direction that we're given. Usually we do so at our own peril, but we have the ability to do that. And then we look back and they say well, I knew I wasn't supposed to do that. I was told I wasn't supposed to do that and I did it anyway. So live and learn.

I love that and I do call it the whispers. Like you have to create space for your whispers and that's taken a lot of time. I think the ego energy for me was so bold and you know I didn't grow up much with much from an early age and so I was constantly trying to get there. I know I had a bigger calling, like as you mentioned, and I was trying to figure out what that was and it was like I was going from door to door to window like where is it? Where is it?

On my website, spirit speakscom. It says for all sincere seekers of truth. And then it says when the student is ready, a teacher will appear. For me, being a seeker, even when I was young, it always seemed that you know someone would appear with a book, a movie, an event, a speaker, and it always led to the next step in your path. And I believe that's what we try and do is shine a light on a path for all other seekers, to show them the next step that they can take in their spiritual enlightenment journey, of spiritual enlightenment that they can take in their spiritual enlightenment journey of spiritual enlightenment.

I love that and that's really why I do the podcast, because I meet so many interesting people that cross my path and when I was writing my third book, seeking, I highlighted so many of the and practitioners and just wisdom keepers that really helped me shed a lot of the things that were no longer serving me so that I had more room for light and I felt like I had to find ways to bring more people to the people that I was talking to, to make it more just available to them, because, as we talked about earlier, you know, not everybody can go to a Lilydale or an Omega or Sedona or even some of the other places around the world. So having ways for people to see like hey, we are normal people that are doing this work to raise the frequency of the planet. So I love the work that you're doing and I love the work that has stemmed even from your childhood.

Well, these spirit teachers in these messages and the way that my mother, wilma Jones, an Angel, told Me. So is the name of the book. And this is volume one of the first of three volumes of a collection of messages and teachings dictated directly from spirit teachers from the other side, dictated through my mother. So I know the source. And she received these messages and teachings for 22 years and this was not channeling, this wasn't automatic writing. She had received in thought, like most all of us do, messages and teachings. But when she was led in her mind to sit down in these dedicated sessions, she had set up an electric typewriter in her kitchen and she would sit down, say a prayer, ask for protection because you are opening your mind, and she would see three or four words just float into her mind and hang there. They would not go away until she typed them. Once she typed those three or four words, they would just fade away and three or four more would show up, full page, single space typed messages, many times with no paragraphs.

And in these messages these spirit teachers repeatedly refer to themselves in first person. We feel, we believe, we advise. Our view encompasses more than your view can comprehend. One line in a message said we hear the spirit cries above the words you speak. Who talks like that? I?

I love that and I've read similar bodies of material and I'm looking forward to more diving into this one because I feel like An Angel Told Me so is such a powerful title and the fact that you are carrying the torch for these lessons and messages are so powerful.

They are. I mean, this is deep, profound teachings, and volume one was pretty much all personal messages to my mother and to me. She would be led to receive and sit down. She had a message addressed to her from her spirit teachers and then my spirit teachers would move in and give a message for me, addressed to me. But it's like these messages and teachings are woven with a universal thread and everyone who has read these messages have said well, this sounds like what I'm dealing with, this sounds like they're talking to me. And I tell people, I say, when you get the book, read each message once as it was given for my mom and given for me. Then read that same message again as if it's being presented for you, and see what hits. And it's amazing what hits. It's almost a little spooky.

I love this and so you've been. I mean, your book is in so many spiritual locations, it's being sold in many places People go to seek spiritual wisdom. How has this unfolded for you? Because your mother, you know she knew from an early age of her ability to connect with spirit teachers Like, how has that then transferred to you and how has that unfolded for your life's work?

Well being. I was, I said, being brought up at the foundation of faith. My mother was extremely religious. My grandmother was a Pentecostal pastor. She pastored a small church in just north Middletown, ohio. My uncle was a fiery, passionate Pentecostal preacher old school, old time religion and he founded churches in Florida, kentucky and Ohio. And he founded churches in Florida, kentucky and Ohio and my grandmother would receive sermons dictated to her mind and thought that she would write down and preach in church and she even received verses to songs that she would put to music.

And I remember when I was young my grandmother would say that God had spoken to her heart and given her this information. That's the perspective that someone with a church-based, bible-based foundation is going to interpret anything that they receive. People who are more spiritual in nature, who read metaphysical material, who read and learn about spirit guides, spirit teachers, they know that we can contact our own and from an early age I'd say mid-20s I had gotten really. I got out of the army, I spent two years in Germany in the army and from then on I was just on a path and people you know you would seek a book, a movie. It would all just come naturally as to what the next step would be would all just come naturally as to what the next step would be.

But how did you know that you would be a spiritual or a channel for the other side.

Well, it's a choice. I mean, it was a choice that I made. The information was available and if you want to serve, you want to be successful in service, then you share that information. And the more you open that channel, the more you accept and receive and share the stronger that link becomes.

And you're just on your way, and so how do you think things have been shifting, because I'm assuming you've been doing this for decades. So how do you think things have been shifting over the last 10 years or so, compared to 20 years ago or 30 years ago?

I think it's just more interest in people being more open to the possibility. I don't know if you're familiar with a book called Conversations with God, Neil Donald Walsh.

Yes yes, I mean he was highly successful. His first three volumes in a study guide sold 4 million copies. And my mother had been receiving these messages for you know, probably six, seven years, eight years. But when I heard all the buzz about his book, I picked up the first you know copy just to see what all the buzz was about. But the depth and quality of the messages and teachings that he received, or that my mother received in these messages that she received from spirit teachers, were 10 levels above what Neil received. I mean, it's like comparing fifth grade to college.

But because of his title and I found out that he was sending books out for free to churches just to get them to read and talk about the book and churches would even have study groups and churches would even have study groups. But what the best thing about his work was, with the popularity and the information, was that he opened the door for people with a foundation of faith to be able to accept information being received from spirit teachers, spirit guides. You know, again, my grandmother would say that God had spoken to her heart. But if you're involved in this material and you know that spirit teachers, spirit guides exist, it just opened up the door for just just such an extremely large audience to be able to accept this information.

I love that and you know publishing three books myself. You know marketing is a big piece of it, but it's a little lock, it's a little bit of where society is at, and you know. You know marketing is a big piece of it but it's a little lock. It's a little bit of where society is at, and you know. You know they write the. They used to write newspapers, you know, for third or fifth grade level. So the fact that your mother's work was that, you know, a college level, it's just not for everybody, and the people that find your mother's book An Angel Told Me so, is ready for that material, as you had said earlier.

I agree, I agree and I've been spoken to. I had. When I do these shows, they'll say, well, your mother received, your grandmother received, do you receive? And I said yeah. I said I've been spoken to and received messages and teachings.

And when I was first looking for a publisher, I was on a number of different publisher websites. One of the websites asked questions about your work. One of the questions was what makes your material unique? Why would anyone want to read this? And I thought great question. And I'm sitting where I'm sitting right now at my computer. I didn't really even ask for an answer, but an answer started to be dictated to my mind. It was 12 lines long and I just typed it down.

I have read that answer to a number of hosts on the air and more than one has teared up. May I share that answer with you and your audience? I would love that. I would love that. So the question was what makes your material unique? And this is the answer that I was given. The uniqueness of any material is in the manner in which it touches the soul. An open and searching mind pulls the soul and the body in which it inhabits onward and upward with hunger and determination in its quest for spiritual nourishment, ever mindful that the path upon which we walk is the path toward God. Lives, lived experiences, endured, goals accomplished and loved ones lost are all encounters upon that path. Strive always for the highest possible communication with our Heavenly Father. Believe in yourself as the Father within you is guiding, leading, directing and comforting you upon this journey that we call life. Blessings be upon you as you walk your chosen pathway.

I love that. I love that. You know, what I love most about that is you say the father is within, and I think that is beautiful, because I think so many people search outside themselves for the father and I believe, as you've said, that the father is within that's true that's true and people, you know, they, they may contemplate as they get older, crossing over.

And I tell people I said there is no death, we, we never really die, it's just graduation. We ride around in these bodies the way we ride around in our cars. These bodies are just a vehicle to negotiate this physical plane and when the body wears out, or if it's taken early by accident or illness, then we cross over and we cross a veil, a frequency, a vibration. We don't know what the medium is that separates us from the spiritual realm, which many people might think of heaven as heaven. But I think the spiritual realm is just so much more than heaven. But we have a two-way communication. People with a foundation of faith will reach out to the spiritual realm in prayer, pray for loved ones, ask for things to happen or help with what they're dealing with, and people who are more spiritual in nature. They will reach out to their spirit guides, spirit teachers for help and guidance.

So powerful, so powerful. I think even your response to that is so magical. I feel like so many of us, we don't often make the time or the space to really connect with our higher selves. We feel like this body we have is all there is. In a lot of ways, and even though we have religious aspirations, I too agree with you that our body is a vessel, a vessel that carries light, frequency, love, and if we fill it with darkness, it carries a lot of darkness, and so it's really up for us to manage and mine our vessel so that we can live at the highest frequency and potential, so that we can be open to the messages that are sent to us.

So what's on the horizon for you, Michael? What are you up to next? 

17:09 - Michael McAdams (Guest)

Well, I am trying to connect with the Speakers Bureau, spiritual Speakers Bureau. I'm doing a considerable amount of these interviews connected with a publicist you have probably connected with Madison, with DMPR, and it's really just a matter of letting people know that this information is available. And as these messages and teachings continued, it's like higher teachers started moving in, even even deeper and more profound teachings. It's like the spirit teachers that were presenting these original messages started spreading the word on the other side that they had found a willing receptacle in my mother, wilma Jean, and they even referenced in these messages that higher teachers had moved in and given them information and they in turn passed it along to us. So I think that's just an amazing that the spiritual realm is filled with various levels spirit guides, spirit teachers, master teachers and even higher teachers than that. But there was a message that on my website, spiritspeakscom, there's a tab at the top for a television interview that my mother gave in Cincinnati. Posted on her interview is a message from volume two of the book. This was the only time in a session where she was led to sit down and receive Two different spirit teachers moved in in the same session, gave two different messages and signed two different names and it was obvious that the second teacher was a different teacher than the first because the whole cadence and phrasing of the message was different.

But that first teacher's message was pretty profound, just a little more than a long paragraph. But the next to the last line is the line that will make you sit up and take notice. And he said there are others here who wish to make themselves known to you, so I will step aside at this time. My question is who are the others and where is here? What do you mean? There are others here. Where are you in relation to us on this physical plane?

I definitely got goosebumps for that, but I can also relate to that message. I do believe that there's a lot of people on the other side of this human experience that are here to help us if we ask for it, if we're open to receive it.

I mean, we're just not alone. You know we're here and I tell people I said, look at the children born to Bill Gates and Steven Spielberg. You know they'll want for nothing Granted, they'll have their challenges, but that kind of wealth and connection makes all the difference in the world. And then you've got people born to alcoholic fathers, drug-addicted mothers, abusive parents. I mean you can be born anywhere on the planet China, north Korea, you know, iran, iraq. Why is it? Is it just random luck of the draw? Did Bill Gates and Steven Spielberg's kids win the lottery and we didn't? Or are we assigned to a certain set of parents and a certain social station for whatever it is we're supposed to learn in this lifetime? And if you're open to that, then you're open to reincarnation.

Well, I believe in that. I believe in reincarnation and I believe in the work that you're carrying the torch to do, and I'm so honored. You joined us, michael, here, to not only talk about your work, but the work of your mother and the book. The Angel Told Me so.
