Living The Way of Mastery with Jason Amoroso
Lesson 15: You Are Already As I Am
Lesson 15: Love or Fear - The Choice Is Yours
Section 1
Paragraph: 6
Is your life driven by love or fear? This episode of Living the Way of Mastery will transform your understanding of how your focus shapes your reality. We explore the illusion of separation created by the ego and delve into the profound insights from "A Course in Miracles" and Bashar. Discover how the concept of a single particle moving rapidly to create different experiences can reveal our inherent oneness with the universe. We also look at the anxiety fueled by modern distractions like social media and news, and reveal why attempts to control life for the sake of safety are ultimately futile.
Embark on a courageous journey with us as we face inner fears and discomforts head-on. Drawing from "The Way of Mastery," we affirm our inherent divinity and challenge traditional views that separate us from Jesus. Learn how peeling away layers of egoic perception can help you rediscover your true nature. We'll share practical tools like meditation and breathwork to connect you with your innate divinity, helping you shift your attention from seeking external validations to embracing internal truths.
True healing is about remembering who we truly are, not fixing what's broken. Embrace joy and playfulness in your healing journey, as Jeshua's teachings guide us to see others' actions as either calls for love or expressions of love. This episode emphasizes self-acceptance and viewing life as an exploration rather than a series of fearful thoughts.

Hello and welcome back to Living the Way of Mastery. I'm Jason Amoroso, your guide and friend and fellow student. And today we dive back into Lesson 15, love or Fear. The choice is yours and I might do this every single episode of this lesson, because we can't hear it enough of this lesson. Because we can't hear it enough. Let's keep things simple Love or fear. Where are we residing? Inside of ourselves.
Speaker 1:And the powerful word in this title of this lesson is choice, that it is a choice. Where are you choosing to focus your consciousness, your awareness, what perspective are you choosing to hold? Are you choosing to invest in and believe in and value the tiny mad idea of the ego, of separation? The tiny mad idea that somehow you've done the impossible, somehow you are a you, meaning you're a separate you and you've done the impossible, which is somehow separate from the rest of existence, from God, from life, from source, that there's everything and then there's you outside of it. That's a choice to identify with that or to go within and identify with the truth of who you are. That is true always, that you are an emanation, a wave, a creation, an individuation. Of the one there is only one.
Speaker 1:I was watching, and again. I talk about Bashar a bunch because I see his videos popping up on my social media because of the algorithm. The more I like his videos, the more I'm sure they show them to me. But it was a video where he's talking about that. The entire anything that God is one particle. The universe source is one particle. That that is consciousness. And it moves so fast, this one particle. It moves so fast that it could create the illusion of like separateness, that it could create a this and a that, that it's moving so fast back and forth and it's like a mind boggling speed, but that it's. It's just one particle moving so fast back and forth and it's like a mind-boggling speed, but that it's just one particle moving so fast to create different experiences of itself, different perspectives of itself, just for the joy of it, just to experience different parts of itself. That it's one, that God. The universe is one consciousness, experiencing itself from different perspectives for the joy of it, and continually expanding forever. So it's always creating new ways to experience itself. That's not a new teaching.
Speaker 1:Anyways, back to the title love or fear. The choice is yours, and just notice in your life. Your daily life is your ashram. Take a pause and just look at the areas of your life right now where you're in fear, where you're afraid, where you're anxious, where you're worried. All the children, so to speak, all the forms of fear, shame, guilt, worry, doubt they're all some form of fear that you're experiencing and it's because you are not conscious of what you are.
Speaker 1:To go back to A Course in Miracles and I've been just like living in this teaching. I meditated on this teaching this morning and it was so powerful the shift it had inside of me. The first line nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists and therein lies the peace of God. So let's just look at that first line Nothing real can be threatened. Look at that first line Nothing real can be threatened. So anything that I'm seeing that can be threatened, I'm seeing incorrectly, according to A Course in Miracles and this line and the teachings of Jesus and so many other enlightened beings that are enlightened, they're in the light, they're seeing things clearly Nothing real can be threatened. So if something can be threatened, it's not real, it's an illusion in my brain that I'm creating and that could be the body. The body can be threatened. Oh, my gosh, that's like our whole human experience is how can my body survive? The whole nervous system is about survival.
Speaker 1:Maslow's hierarchy of needs is first the physical body. And there's so many threats in this physical dimension to the physical body. A lot of fear, a lot of threats. That's illusion. That's what Jesuit, the course of miracles, the teachings, have said from the beginning. What else can be threatened? Your finances, your family, your friends, the world. We've got to save the world from nuclear war. The earth can be threatened. Of course. I'll reference again where Jeshua says, like in the way of mastery yes, of course we're going to be loving, but we're not here to save anything because creation just goes on creating. That's what it does. Nothing can be lost in creation. So when we stop identifying with the physical and we start to open up to something far beyond the physical, we realize it's all energy, we realize it's all consciousness expressing that, and that's when we can tap into that. Oh, I am an eternal being too, beyond time and space. But I know I get off on these tangents so sometimes I forgot how I got there. But I'm bringing it back.
Speaker 1:Fear, just noticing where you're in, fear in your life. And there's so much fear in the world today. Oh, my God, it's like our. Our society is more anxious and fearful than ever because of the stimulus, because we're focused externally, first of all social media, the news and people like to talk about being afraid. It creates a sense of drama. It creates a sense of oh, I got to fix things because I'm afraid of them.
Speaker 1:You know everyone's trying to control life because it gives us a sense of safety to control things. If I can control things, then I feel safer. So I think controlling more things is going to make me feel safe and of course we know it never works. It never works. Trying to control your life, trying to get the outcomes make people think the way that you want to think, to feel safe. It never works. There's always the next thing to try and manage and control. So you feel a very fleeting sense of safety for a second, until the next thing. I know people who literally like they obsess and they worry and try and control something and then when that passes and it of course never was as bad as they thought it was going to be they have to latch on to something else and then they start worrying about something else. So there's always a fire to put out. It's like the nature of the game of the ego, because it's always out there.
Speaker 1:So there's so much stimulus in the world about fear, fear, fear sells, baby. Look at and you know how many. It's insane. I don't know the data on this, but it's a lot. It's like in the thousands of how many advertisements that we see a day billboards, social media ads. I mean you go on Facebook now. It's like you see one post from a friend if that's what you even call them. It's probably not your friends anymore, it's somebody who's trying to sell you something, and then it's like 100 ads and then you may see another post. It's like we are bombarded with advertisements in our world TV, radio, podcasts. Anywhere you're, anywhere you're going to see an advertisement for something trying to sell you something.
Speaker 1:And marketing and advertising the traditional form of it is sell people on their problems. You have a problem. I'm going to tell you about your problem and then why. My product or service is the solution. So it's like you're in lack, something's wrong, and that's what we hear all day long. Oh my God, yes, I don't have enough money for retirement. Oh my God, I am in debt with the IRS. Oh my God, I am struggling in my marriage. I need, you know, counseling. Oh my God, I need so many things. That's the messaging we get.
Speaker 1:Imagine if, just tomorrow, all technology was wiped out. Let's just say boom. There would be intense panic, of course, because we're so conditioned to look for the stimulus, but's just say boom. There would be intense panic, of course, because we're so conditioned to look for the stimulus. But after a while it's like when you go on vacation and takes probably the first three, four or five days sometimes to finally relax and be like, oh my God, I didn't realize how stressed out I was until I stopped checking emails or I stopped thinking about work, if I was even able to and then, of course, your vacation's over. Like three days later it's time to go back. That's probably what would happen if all devices were instantly evaporated, if all computers and technology you know that in that regard TVs, radios, just wiped out. But if we were just in nature, if we were just communicating with each other, there would be a much more sense of relaxation.
Speaker 1:Yes, we're in the human experience. Yes, we identify with the body. So we're still going to look for, you know, the part of us that identifies with the body, and lack and separation is going to create more of that, more of the feeling like there's something lacking and we would create, but not as much. It's like insanely in overdrive now and I think it is absolutely and this is just my opinion adding to this sense of despair in people. That's why the suicide I would say that's one of the reasons why the suicide rates are higher than ever.
Speaker 1:We're just bombarded with messages that we're not enough, that something's missing, that no matter what we chase after it's really, we know, inside it doesn't make us happy. All the money, all the things that we're trying to get the validation, we can't get it out there, but yet we're told we can and we spend all of our money, time, resources and energy obsessing about it. How do I get it? I'm lacking. How do I get more money? How do I get more followers? How do I get more status? How do I get more love? You know it's like dating apps.
Speaker 1:Dating apps and there have been I wouldn't call them whistleblowers, but people who've worked in dating apps and then they stop working them come out and say, yeah, the dating apps are designed not to help you find a partner, not to get married, not to find your soulmate. The dating apps are designed to keep you dating. That means you're on the app, that means you're spending energy and money and subscribing to the dating apps. If you find someone, you don't need the dating app. They'd go out of business. So they're designed to keep you in lack. They're designed to keep you feeling a sense of something's missing inside and the next partner might tantalizingly fill that hole right. They design it that way.
Speaker 1:So that's why I think we're in so much fear these days. But of course, those are all just outward manifestations of an inner condition. We're afraid to go within. We're afraid to look within of what we might find, because I think a lot of us are. You know, we all can relate to this idea of not feeling worthy, of not enough. So I kind of have this. Let's just say we have this nagging, very deep sense of not enough. Right, we can all relate to that. Maybe for some of us it's not so nagging and deep and quiet, but it's really loud. But we know it's in there.
Speaker 1:So I'm going to look outside and try and fill the not enough and, yes, it feels good for a minute because I got that new job. But then three, six months later, a year later, I'm still in the same situation. I don't like my job, I'm not fulfilled with my work. Oh yes, that nagging sense of not enough has been has been sated by this great new person I'm dating. Oh man, this is the best, this is the one. Six months a year, two years in, and then, all of a sudden, this person isn't fulfilling my needs the way that I want them to, and it's like the honeymoon phase is over and it's like, oh, I can't run away from myself.
Speaker 1:But I think one of the deeper fears that we have is that if we actually turn within, we'll we'll see what we've not been wanting to see and feel what we're not being wanted to feel, which is the truth. The truth, quote unquote that we aren't enough. If I look within and I see myself, holy crap, I was right all along. It is true that I'm not enough. I finally have the proof and the evidence. So, instead of feeling that, let me just kind of play out there in the world, try and fill the hole, knowing the whole time nothing out there is going to fill it and if I go within, I'm so scared that I'm finally going to see that I truly am not enough. I was right the whole time.
Speaker 1:But of course, we know, if you have the courage to go within and to look and to be still and to sit with that feeling, that dread, that fear, just to sit with it with innocence, with curiosity. Feeling is the doorway to the kingdom, if we're willing to feel the discomfort, the uncomfortableness it passes through and we might have to go through the dark night of the ego. It might be terribly painful. We've all been there. Emotional, that kind of pain is so much worse than any kind of physical pain you could have. But we've all been there. If you're listening to the Way of Master, you've been there. You've had probably many dark nights of the ego and you know that this too shall pass.
Speaker 1:You know that underneath, if you're willing to sit with all that muck and the yuck, underneath, it is the truth, is the gold of what, of who you are, of what you are, of God, of what life is. And then there's layers to that. So it's not like, oh, I'm finally done, I'm finally spiritual, I finally made it. No, it's a journey, it's a process of awakening. It's layers for most of us and that's okay. It's a different chapter of your adventure. So all of this on the title of this lesson love or fear.
Speaker 1:The choice is yours. You choose by what you choose to focus on, by what stories you choose to tell in your mind, by what consciousness you want to hold and value. That's why seek first the kingdom, when you are committed to seeking God above all else and love above all else. It doesn't matter what happening is happening out there, what the movie screen of your life is showing to you, you're only going to see it through the lens of love. Oh, this war is happening. My brain says how bad this is and how all these things are. What's wrong with the world? And the pain and the suffering. And I'm going to experience it through the ego and through fear and through my own sense of fear and threatened. Or these things are happening and I could experience it through a different filter, a filter of love, and I'm not trying to predict or say what that's going to feel like for you, but that's the way that this works Love or fear. The choice is yours and it is a choice. That's why this is the most empowering teaching that there is.
Speaker 1:So finally, let's look at the text here and I appreciate. Just this is how I do it. Now I go off on tangents and then I come back to the text and, yeah, I guess I'm accepting myself more and more instead of judging myself more and more. So here we go, paragraph six, where Jeshua says you, therefore, my beloved friends, are already as I am. We merely work together to restore to your mind what God has placed there since before the beginning of time. We work together in joy and in innocence and in perfect simplicity, to recall, to remember what is true always, to remember what is true always. And then we work together to explore the expansion of that truth beyond the boundaries of every fearful thought, beyond the limitations of every egoic perception, beyond even the body itself, which can be only a temporary communication device, usable only within the very thin slice of creation that you call the physical world. That's a beautiful paragraph. It's so easy to read through it and keep going.
Speaker 1:So we like to break things down here. You, therefore, my beloved friends, you're already as I am. I mean that alone, just that alone. Already as I am. I mean that alone, just that alone. I'm not going to talk for 15 minutes about that. That alone is huge for so many of us, especially us who are kind of grew up in the Christian church and the part of the church, and not all churches are like this, not all, I think denominations and I'm not an expert, I'll say that but like just this. I grew up more in the catholic side of things and it's just like you're a sinner.
Speaker 1:Jesus is this holy special. He's the son of god, holy shit. And you're not. You're you're. You're trying to get there. You want to be like him, but you're not like him. He was special, he did miracles. What are you doing? You're complaining about your coffee, like it's, like he's different. You're not're not, even though and that was added into the Bible even though his whole message is you're the same as I am. Even in the Bible, these things and more, ye shall do Right. So it's like we got these mixed messages, but here we're being given it again.
Speaker 1:This is why this is to me, a more pure form of the teachings of Jesus. The Christ, the Christ consciousness, the Christ awareness, not Jesus Christ, like it was his last name. This is a more pure form teaching of that than the Bible, in my opinion. Like by far. And he says you're already as I am, you're not trying to get there, seek and you will not find. That's in A Course in Miracles and he says that, in the Way of Mastery too, stop identifying as a seeker and start identifying as one who is found. And to our brain, that doesn't make sense because I still feel like I don't get it in some ways. But when we're out of our brain and we have those moments in meditation, in nature, in breath, but when we're out of our brain and we have those moments in meditation and nature and breath, work and whatever, when we're out of our head, when we're in our heart and in our being, we just know we're like oh, I've never left, I am home, like we have those very real knowings and experiences that you can't deny. I hope you've had those. If you haven't come to Revelation Breathwork class, you're already there. Revelation Breathwork class, you're already there. Remove your attention from the outside world and what it thinks and says it's going to give you, and come within. It's all here. Seek first the kingdom and then all the added things will be brought to you. You're already, as I am Halle freaking Luya. You're all ready, as I am Halle freaking Luya.
Speaker 1:Jeshua says we merely like. It's so simple. We merely, we're working together. We're working together to restore to your mind what God placed there since before the beginning of time To restore. It's already there. We're just kind of. You know it's like a. It's a. You want to fly, give up the shit that weighs you down. It's like all this added bull crap we've put on, that Jeshua is helping us take the layers off so we can see ourselves and know ourselves as who we are. And one day we'll look in the mirror and be like, holy crap, that's who I am. I am that I am. I am the same as you, brother. We're the same sister Of the same essence. Not our body, not our form, not our past, not our stories. The same essence. The ocean says I'm the ocean, the wave says I'm the ocean. Of course we use these labels, but it's like I am.
Speaker 1:And when I read that line to we're restoring, we're working together to restore to your mind, it made me think of computers. It's like when your computer I think we've all had some kind of computer that gets infected with a virus or bloatware, just like too many programs, and it gets all. We got to declutter it, we got to decompress it and sometimes we got to hit the factory reset where it wipes all the crap that we've. Oh, I like this analogy. It wipes out all the crap we've added onto our computer or our phone. That's slowing it up, that's bogging it down. It wipes it out and sets it to factory defaults. Oh, I like this analogy. Can we do that? Like? That's what we're doing with ourselves. We're getting rid of all the crap we've added on, we've bought into, we thought was going to help us. We've added on, we've bought into, we thought was going to help us. We're wiping it out. We're getting back to the factory reset, which is what God made us, which is an emanation of God itself, a part of the whole. That's what we're doing in the Way of Mastery. That's what you're doing by listening to this podcast.
Speaker 1:We work together. Why not have a partner? I love it. We're working together. It's not just you and Jeshua, it's all of us, it's the lineage. You got so many. You have your own guardian angels. That's a real thing. You've got guardian angels, you've got guides. You've got so many beings that your five senses don't pick up in this physical world that are guiding you, aiding you, supporting you, encouraging you, cheering you on.
Speaker 1:We work together in joy, this work, this healing work. Healing is remembering. It's not fixing what's broken. It's remembering who you already are. This healing work doesn't. Sometimes it's heavy, sometimes it's a lot of tears, sometimes it's like we're in the depths of the dark night of the ego. It's despair, it feels that way, but it doesn't have to be. That may be a part of it. But it can be joyful and we do this work in innocence. We get curious like a child. Children play when they're in their natural environments. Children play, they're innocent, they're joyful. That's what we're being invited into Above all.
Speaker 1:The way of mastery says above all, god thinks playfully. Now let's just take a moment. How playful have you been in your life lately? Playful, I know I haven't. I mean I play with my kids, so that's like I play basketball. But sometimes basketball is not playful. It's like it feels like. It's like how I get my angst out sometimes, and it's competition, and sometimes it's joyful competition, but it's like. Sometimes it's like that. Sometimes it is playful. How playful do you feel in your finances, in your work, in your relationships? Right, we forget that doesn't feel playful. How can we bring more of that spirit into our life? We forget that it doesn't feel playful. How can we bring more of that spirit into our life. So Jesher says we work together in joy and in innocence. Innocence and in perfect simplicity. Let it be simple. Love or fear, that's simple.
Speaker 1:Another line in A Course in Miracles is and I think in the Way of Mastery they echo each other is there's only calls for love and expressions of love. That's it. If that's how you saw the world and people and how people were expressing themselves, they're either calling for love or they're expressing love, and the response is the same for you either way, to be the presence of love, love and compassion. How many people in their outbursts, in their anger, in their manipulation, in their thievery, in their greed, in their whatever, their defensiveness, in their attackingness, it's just all one big call for love. How many people fronting that there's something that they're not? They're putting on masks on social media or in their professional life, or in their personal life or in their dating life, because they want to try and feel like there's something that they're not. It's just a call for love. Love me the way I am, but I don't love myself the way I am, so I think I got to be something different. So you'll love me, so then I can love myself, because I need your permission to love myself, right? That's that's the psychology of it. It's just one big call for love of it. It's just one big call for love, and we do that all the time.
Speaker 1:We're doing the work together to recall what is already there, to remember who we already are, what is true always, that you are perfect, whole, complete. You are divine. You are not threatened. Nothing real can be threatened. Therein lies the peace of God and nothing unreal exists. So you have nothing to worry about. Put your concerns down, put your burdens down, put your worries down. Worry is just another form of fear. People say I'm not afraid, I'm just worried. It's the same thing Jesher says.
Speaker 1:And then we work together to explore. Let's explore. When we're trying to get the right answer, it's like there's only one right answer. We got to get it right. But when we explore, it opens things up. Can we see life as an exploration, a math problem to be solved necessarily with only one right answer, which so many of us try and do? Can we explore the expansion of that truth beyond the boundaries of every fearful thought that we have? Because fearful thinking does feel like it's limited, and he says the limitations of every egoic perception. By definition, it is limited, it can't see beyond itself, and Jesher says, beyond even the body itself. He kind of saves that last, even the body itself, because that's the one that feels the most real to us.
Speaker 1:Look, I am a body, a body. He's just trying to help us detach, create a little separation from that just ingrained, enmeshed thinking that we are, that you are a body, that I am a body, that we are, this physical form. It's like when things are tangled up, like my dog, when she goes out into the yard and goes into the bushes and stuff she's a golden dew's got this big, big, hairy body she gets all these burrs caught in them. You know all these burrs and little things. And so I got to take the burrs out and, like I got to, the hair gets tangled in and meshed in. I got to slowly untangle it, one, sometimes one strand at a time until I can take the burr out. That's what he's doing with this.
Speaker 1:Even the body itself is not what you think it is and it's only, it can only be a temporary communication device. He's been saying that from the beginning. That's all. The body is a temporary communication device, usable only within this very thin slice of creation that you call the physical world. It's so limited, it's so narrow to who you are, to what is, to what's available to you, and if you want to wake up, there's so much more available to you. You know, we think this life, this world, is everything. We're so hyper-focused on the physical world, reality that we've created for ourselves, we don't realize it's a very thin slice of creation. There's in my father's house. There are many mansions. There's so many dimensions of experience, not just this solar system. There's so many dimensions we don't see, we can't even, we're not even in touch with right now, because we're, we're so focused on this experience that we're having and it's great to see when, like you know, re you know, quote unquote science is showing these things now like, oh, now it's finally true because we're, we're proving these things. It's like the, the mystics from ages, throughout time, have been saying this, but people act like it's the latest and greatest thing. I saw this thing on Facebook. I'm going to read it to you on Instagram, wherever it was.
Speaker 1:Pravika, a professor of physics at the University of Nevada, las Vegas, suggests that human consciousness might originate from hidden dimensions of the universe rather than solely from brain activity. Pravika claims that during moments of heightened awareness, like making art, practicing science or even dreaming, our consciousness could transcend the limitations of our physical dimension and tap into these invisible realms. I mean, that's great, that, that that someone needs to read that and be like whoa, really there's something else out there and a part of me the snarky, I'm just gonna say the snarky part of me, the snarky, I'm just going to say the snarky part of me is like duh. Of course that's the snarky part of me, but yeah, it's like. This is what we're learning. This is what the mystics and the enlightened ones and the ones that have known more or seen more than than the masses, have shared with us the ones you know, the teachers. But it's just great to see that it's a new theory. Is it really new? Anyways, that's all we got for today.
Speaker 1:I think we're going to stick with that one paragraph, because we're 30 minutes in on one paragraph. But what's the rush? We're having fun here, I hope. Thanks for listening. If you get value from the podcast and you're a new listener or a long-time listener, uh, and you haven't liked or subscribed or given us a good review on apple with writing a little. That would be the most helpful thing. If you haven't done that and you get value from podcast, take a minute, even if you're not listening on apple, go to apple podcast, google apple podcasts, living the way of mastery, jason amaroso, and you probably can go there and it'll say rate this podcast. And if you could rate us and give us write a comment or two, because ratings with comments are always more helpful in my opinion that would be amazing. Thank you so much.
