Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome back to Living the Way of Mastery. I'm Jason Amoroso, your guide and friend and fellow student, and today we begin Lesson 16. Let's go. I can't believe we're on Lesson 16. And this is the birth of egoic consciousness. And I'm excited and really interested to see how the podcast on this lesson goes, because a lot of this lesson is story time. It's Jeshua kind of sharing a story about the nature of existence, the nature of creation, and so we have this opportunity to kind of use our imagination and to understand these things with our intellect. And I would encourage you to meditate on these ideas that come forth in this lesson, to ask to be shown not just so that you understand intellectually but that maybe you experience it within yourself what this story is really all about about. So let's dive in and see what happens.

Speaker 1:

In the first paragraph, jeshua begins saying Beloved and holy friends, it is a joy to communicate with you the way of transformation. Within the word transformation there is great wisdom. Transformation requires that there be that which abides in form, and you are that. I looked up the word transformation in the Oxford Advanced Dictionary and it says a change in something or someone, a complete change from one thing to another thing that, in this context, we're really not changing who we are. We are that which we are. We are the sunbeam to the sun. But what is transforming is our mind, is our consciousness, is our experience of what we are. It is a complete change from thinking that you are this separate being, this separate thing that is inherently lacking. So, because you are separate, you need to get something outside of yourself to feel more whole, to feel safe, whatever it is, and so the transformation is in our own identification with who and what we are. But in truth, you are changeless. You are pure spirit, as Jeshua will tell us. So in the way of transformation, there is great wisdom. Transformation requires that which abides in form, and you are that. He says. You are spirit with a capital S. That's what you are. You're not the body, you're not your kind of ego, small, self-thinking mind. You are pure spirit. You are that which has come forth as a ray of light from the mind of God, as a sunbeam to the sun. In that formless beginning form hyphen less in that formless beginning, you are consciousness itself, you are intelligence itself, you are bliss, you are radiance, you are compassion, you are the potential for endless creativity. This we can kind of intellectually understand this, and so that's why this I think this teaching can be more intellectual than an experience, but it's inviting us to imagine that we are so much more than we believe we are.

Speaker 1:

And in imagining that we might be able to access, actually starting to experience and opening up to this truth, to really experience that I am a sunbeam that has come forth from the sun, it's the same analogy as the wave in the ocean that you are God itself expressing itself as you, but you're still the sun. The sunbeam is an extension of the sun. The wave is just a unique expression of the ocean. If you take out the word wave and you take out the word ocean, it's just this thing expressing itself. That's what you are. And, yes, you still got to pay bills, you still got to do laundry, you still got to drive your kids to school. But let us sit, let us meditate in this, let us open up to a new way of experiencing ourselves. Nature can help us connect to that Meditation. Dance, art, washing the dishes can be a meditation where you experience yourself beyond this limited, small, complainy, whiny, blaming, separate, victim self, and then you realize it's all life, expressing Everything is a sunbeam from the sun. Everything is the same thing, it's literally all God. Anything in existence is of God, and we get to create our experience of it all Because all events, all things are neutral. You get to create your experience through your conscious choice. What a gift. You are pure spirit in that formless beginning. So you begin without form, just as consciousness itself, as awareness. I am. It's not, I think, is it Descartes? And I am not a philosopher. I'm not saying I'm right, but I'm just kind of sharing my own experience. I think, therefore I am. I would say it's the opposite. I am, therefore, I think I am, therefore I have awareness.

Speaker 1:

You are intelligence itself and not like your IQ. It's not talking about that intelligence, the intelligence of life, which is beyond our comprehension. Right, you don't know how your body makes new blood cells. You don't know, actually, how your body breathes itself. You don't know how your body digests. That's not your like when you think, oh, I'm intelligent, I know how to do math problems or I know how to whatever. It is right, that's a very limited form of intelligence. This is beyond what we think, we know. You are intelligence itself. Your life is intelligence itself. You are bliss, you are radiance, you are compassion, you are the potential for endless creativity. Whether you exercise that potential is up to you. How amazing is that? This is the most empowering free message teaching that I've ever come across.

Speaker 1:

He says you are in italics. The word are is in italics. You are God itself, with a capital I. You are God itself. Now that is the first time that we have been quite so bold. It is the first time that we have described you as that which is God. This can only mean that what you are in your essence, in your essential being, is God himself. Now I feel like we've been talking about you as God Again.

Speaker 1:

God is not an old man in the sky. God is not the old man with the beard. God is not a separate being. God is life itself. We have tried to make God in our image as a person, a vengeful God, a jealous God. You read the Bible. There's all these different things going on. We have tried to make God in our image. But God, you could say source, you could say universe, you could use other words, if that helps you.

Speaker 1:

I love the word God because for me there's a level of humility in that, there's a level of reverence and devotion. But I'm not thinking old man in the sky. Grant me my wishes like a genie and I'll be good and I'll get my wishes and I'll be. If I misbehave, then somehow I've done you wrong and I don't deserve that's old, old, old, incorrect, uh, understanding of god. God is go out in nature and god is life itself, expressing intelligence itself, expressing love itself, expressing. So when someone says you are god, that's what it's talking about your life expressed. You are god, expressed uniquely as you.

Speaker 1:

It's the ego that's like oh, that person thinks they're God. They're crazy. It depends on what their consciousness is right. Some people are like I'm God and then they think that they're this all powerful, somehow separate or better than other people, but somebody who's grounded and rooted in knowing who they are, knowing what is. Like Jeshua when he says I am God, yes, but he also said you are God, there is only God. So we can kind of take the specialness out of it, which is of the ego.

Speaker 1:

It's not blasphemy to say what is so self-evident, what is so obviously true, that there is one life expressing itself in many ways, it's only when we get caught up in the identity as a person, as a body, as a limited life, that we feel threatened by the fact that we're not God. If you knew who you really were, if you woke up all of a sudden, had the awareness, the consciousness that you are the sunbeam to the sun, you wouldn't care how many years you live on this earth, because you know that you live eternally. You wouldn't care if your loved ones die and I'm not trying to say that like insensitively. You wouldn't care if you die, because you know that they continue to exist and that you will see them very shortly. You are with them always. Nothing can separate you. Time and space is of this dimension, but it doesn't even exist in the reality of all that is.

Speaker 1:

So you are God itself, and I guess this is the maybe, this is the first time. I'm not, you know, going to go back and read every line of the way of mastery. I feel like we've been saying this from the very beginning, but maybe it's the first time Jesh was saying not just, you're a wave in the ocean of love, you are God itself, and there's lots of teachings that say that God is one, that there's one intelligence, one consciousness, and that it began or started to fragment itself, to experience itself in different ways. I actually think even the way of mastery talks about that. There's one consciousness that is extending itself infinitely and it creates experiences of itself to know itself in new ways. So, but just, you're saying this is the first time we've been quite so bold. It's the first time that we have described you as that which is God. This can only mean that what you are in your essence, in your essential being, is God himself.

Speaker 1:

Beautiful. Let's just stop there. This is the opening three paragraphs of Lesson 16. And again, I encourage you to contemplate, to meditate on these things, to ask to be given the experience of them beyond just the intellectual understanding of them.
