Hello and welcome back to Living the Way of Mastery. I'm Jason Amoroso, your guide and friend, and today we continue with Lesson 16, the Birth of Egoic Consciousness, and we're looking at Section 2, the First Level of Creation, pure Spirit, and we start with Paragraph 3, where Jeshua continues this first level of creation never changes. It is as God itself, for the sunbeam is as the sun, the ray of light as the light. A momentum, though, has begun, a momentum extending from the pure potentiality of all that God is For love seeks only to extend itself. God is For love seeks only to extend itself. Extension is an activity, it is a movement, and for there to be extension, there must necessarily have then been created what you call space. Call is an italics, but even at this level of creation, the space of which we speak is not quite what you would perceive in your mind as you think of that which contains the planets whirling around your sun. So this paragraph, pretty straightforward the first level of creation. It never changes. The changeless is God itself, it is everything. Yes, in this dimension, all things in time are temporary, all things in the physical are temporary. Things change, but what is changeless is changeless forever. That is God, that is love. And he uses the analogy of the sunbeam is as the sun, the ray of light is as the light. And why is this important? It's talking about the nature of God, of the all that is, but it's talking about your nature. This is always about you. This is for you and about you. You are made in the image and likeness of your creator, not your human self, with your personality and your failings and your desires and your hopes and dreams and the things you think you lack or the things you think you need to be happy. That's all I want to say. Like window dressing, it's all illusion, all illusion. This teaching this way is guiding us to wake up to our reality, what we really are, and to live from that place. It's a whole different way of seeing the world and of seeing yourself. A momentum has begun, a momentum extending the pure potentiality of all that God is. This is the message we've received from the very beginning. God extends itself the good, the holy and the beautiful. This is your purpose to extend the good, the holy and the beautiful, for love seeks only to extend itself. Extension is an activity, it's a movement. It makes me think of a John Mayer song, which is love, is a verb. Love is a verb, it's an action, it's an energy, it's a movement. How can you bring more love in this way into your life?
Speaker 1:When you create, it's not just creating in the physical. Every thought that you have is a creative act. Let me say that again, because this is what Jeshua says in the way of mastery Every thought you have is a creation. So the question becomes what are you creating? And are you creating by default? Are you creating just unconsciously, running conditions and patterns that you're not really aware of?
Speaker 1:Most of us do that, most of us are on autopilot, and that's not to be judgy, it's just telling it how it is. And we have the amazing opportunity to become really present to what we're choosing to focus on, what perception we're choosing, what story that we're choosing to tell ourselves about life, about our life, about ourselves, about other people, about events, because all events, all people, all things are neutral. You create for yourself, your reality, your experience. Now, what so happens is an event happens and we allow the world, the news, other people's moods, other people's unconscious thinking and reactions to influence and determine our response, our choices. Oh, everyone else is saying it's a horrible thing. Well, I better not be happy and joyful because people say I'm insensitive. People will make fun of me, people will reject me, people will judge me If I'm joyful and happy while everyone else is sad and miserable. That's what so much of us do, that pressure to conform.
Speaker 1:So anyway, back to the text God, life, love, love. Its sole purpose is extension, extending itself. The Sun beam and the Sun beam. The creation of the Sun is of the Sun. You are of God. So love seeks only to extend itself. An extension is an activity, it's a movement. Life wants to flow. It always flows, whether or not we receive it and whether or not we let it flow in our own lives. When you try and control your life, when you try and control the circumstances and other people and the timing of everything, you're not letting life flow. You're trying to be the maker and the doer, and I don't know about you. That's never worked for me, as hard as I've tried, and I've tried really hard. It just creates misery, it just creates frustration, because my efforts never work. When I receive inspiration, when I'm still, when I'm inspired and I take action on that, when I listen, when I have an intention to be love in my heart to encourage others, to encourage myself, to be patient or to be really active when inspired, in that moment. That's when good things happen, but I'm not trying to make them happen. This is a different love is a momentum. Happen this is a different love, is a momentum. Extension is an activity. It's a momentum, not a forcing.
Speaker 1:And Jesher says for there to be extension, there must necessarily have then been created what you call space. It's got to extend somewhere. But then he says but at this level of creation, and this is like the very, very beginning. If we're going by time, the space we speak of is not quite what you think of as space, and that's okay. If we don't understand that, we're still getting the truth, we're still being told what is. So let's keep going.
Speaker 1:He says, rather, instead of the space you think of, rather it was more like a mathematical concept. It was the idea of space in which extension could occur. There were not yet planets and suns, there was not yet a single atom or molecule of matter. There was pure thought, pure love, pure being, beginning to entertain that word in italics, to entertain, and I emphasize that word for a certain reason the idea of pure space, pure extension, unlimited, unbounded. Forever there was pure spirit. This is what you are now and forever. Spirit does not change.
Speaker 1:How amazing is that? I know for me it's like so hard for my brain like I can intellectually understand it, but I want to feel this, I want to know this, I want to remember this. So it informs my consciousness, it informs how I live my life, how I see everything. So it's just, it's like what I've heard is like 3d is this world and then 4d is like the astral plane of thought, and so everything exists, everything is real and exists in thought before it can manifest in the physical. Because the physical is energy just condensed into what seems to be solid. But of course we know, we know, we learned in high school that matter is just energy. E equals mc squared that what you think is solid is just a bunch of vibrating molecules, and when you look really closely at the molecules, there's just a lot of space. It seems solid, there's a lot of space, and when you look closely at that, the molecules and the atoms respond to consciousness. When something is not observed, it is a wave. When something becomes observed, all of a sudden it becomes a particle. How amazing is that we wake up every day and go about our day and don't even think about these things. So the whole point of it is it exists in thought, pure thought, pure consciousness.
Speaker 1:First, and in spoiler alert, in Lesson 17, which I think might be my favorite lesson in the entire Way of Mastery, like if I could have everyone in the world read one lesson in the Way of Mastery, it would be Lesson 17. Jeshua talks about how we can have a disembodied experience, how we can remember that we are more than the body and be very much conscious but not be in the body right now. I mean, we have that. And again, spoiler alert, it's when you're not thinking about yourself. You might be lost in a movie and you're so engrossed in the movie you're not thinking about your body, you're not even aware of your body. And then all of a sudden you think, oh, I'm a body. I'm sitting here and watching this movie. It could be during revelation, breathwork. Oh my gosh. That's one of the most common experiences I've had. You're very much aware, you have a pure awareness, but you don't feel your body, you're not aware of the body. Sometimes you're very much in the body in Revelation, breathwork.
Speaker 1:2. When you're making love, when you get lost in the moment, it's when you're not thinking about the body, but when you're dreaming. When you're dreaming, you are pure thought, pure consciousness. So this is what Jeshua is emphasizing over and over again. There was pure thought, pure love, pure being, beginning to entertain, and he emphasizes this for a certain reason. He says the idea of pure space, pure extension. Spirit does not change. When we entertain something, it doesn't immediately pop into manifestation. It's the things that we think about, it's the things that we focus on over and over and over again, that we then create. But every thought is creative. Every single thought is a creation.
Speaker 1:He says there is that which in you, right here and right now, even as you read these words, even as you perceive yourself as a body sitting in a chair, beyond all that you see with your physical eyes, all that you are aware as and within the body, beyond the activity of the surface level of the mind, in which there is the firing of the neurons in the brain almost without ceasing, so that the mind seems to never be without images and thoughts, is spirit. So, if you take out everything between the hyphens, this is the sentence there is that which in you is spirit. That's it. There is that which in you is spirit. That's what you are Pure spirit, unbounded, unlimited consciousness. We are just so identified with the body, which is inherently limited. It's inherently separate, but it's an illusion. We cannot be separate because there only is pure spirit.
Speaker 1:How does this impact your daily life? Just, it's an invitation to slow down. It's an invitation to slow down, get out of your head and the busyness of all the things we respond to in the external and go within to find, to find what's always there, this presence, this peace, this love that is free, that is unlimited, that is whole, that is expansive, that is creative, that is joyful. It's the spirit of you that you are. That whole area is on fire, massive devastation and houses are lost, things are lost and some lives have been lost, some physical lives, but the human spirit is resilient. The human spirit is unbounded.
Speaker 1:The love that is going to come out of what so many feel, the devastation, the loss, all these things that it's going to bring up inside of people, the grieving, grieving is another form of love. It's deep love, love of life, love of self and all the things not true that fall away. It's that sense of loss if we are willing to grieve a sense of loss fully underneath the loss is this love, is this awareness that we can never truly lose what is real. You know, you could say I lost my brother when he passed away three years ago. Now it's crazy, it's that long ago, from pancreatic cancer, but just 30 minutes ago I was so connected with him, thinking of him, feeling of him, speaking to him, communing with him, just as if he was right next to me, but it was in my consciousness. Nothing real is ever lost.
Speaker 1:It makes me think of the first line of A Course in Miracles Nothing real can be threatened. If something can be threatened, it's not real With a capital R real, nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Only love is real. Therein lies the peace of God.
Speaker 1:So there is that which in you, even as you read the words with your physical self, you think you're in a chair, you're reading things with your eyes, your brain is nonstop. There's this presence, there's this energy, there's this love that you can tap into, that you can allow to inform you and live your life. There's no fear in that space that's available to you, jeshua says, far beyond this planet, and yet, right where this planet abides far beyond this universe. And yet, right where this universe abides, far beyond all dimensions, the infinite dimensions of creation, yet right where those infinite dimensions exist, spirit is, it's all one, it's all here. The physical universe, let's say it's infinite, that's mind-boggling to our brain. But right where it is, and even beyond, that is God, is spirit, is life, it's all contained, but yet not contained in spirit. Spirit is unbounded. This is your reality. Why is he telling us this? This is about you. He says.
Speaker 1:Here's what I've often referred to as the quote real world. Here peace abides eternally. In italics eternally, with perfect consistency and without interruption. Italics, eternally, with perfect consistency and without interruption. Here is, in italics, the living reality which has been reflected in the sentence I and my father are one. It makes me think of. I don't know if it's a quote, but I am that, I am. That's it I am.
Speaker 1:When all things fall away, there's, I am pure consciousness, I am. Meditate on that. I am that I am. I know for me.
Speaker 1:Sometimes my brain's like what does that mean? I am that I am. What the heck does that mean? My brain goes there for sure, even now, when I'm still. I and my father are one.
Speaker 1:What the heck does that mean? I and my source are one. What does that mean? It doesn't feel like it, but you got to be still to receive it. You got to be still to know it, to feel it, to connect with it. It's there always, but we're just so busy in the brain, searching, thinking, finding. We're so mental and cerebral. You can't escape spirit. Everything is spirit, the living reality. I and my father are one. We are being invited to identify beyond who we think we are, this thing we think is me. We're invited to identify well beyond that, he says.
Speaker 1:In other words, when consciousness transcends its perception of itself as being only conditional existence, being only the forms, in italics, the forms of existence such as the body-mind, the particular sense of self as separate from all other selves, the blade of the grass, the cloud in the sky, the rock upon the ground, when consciousness transcends this sense of itself, it abides not in a thinking relationship, it does not observe spirit as something else and then says oh, that's what I am Great. Rather, there is a living sense in which consciousness as such, as the capital S self, rests in the capital S self and simply knows, for only knowledge is immediate and not mediated by any concept, form or experience. The knowing does not require concepts, form or experience. It is self-evident, it is the I am, that I am, that's all there is when consciousness transcends its perception of itself as being only conditional existence, meaning when we can get beyond thinking that we are our name, our body, our past, that we're just a sperm and an egg that has been fertilized, that then was born of certain parents, in a certain race, in a certain culture, when we get beyond the labels and identifications of ourself, the sense of separation from other people, from the grass, from the clouds, from nature, from anything in existence, the sense of separation that that's there, that's that and this is me. There is a different layer of communication, happening of communion, of joining of union. It's one thing, it's a recognition that there only is one thing, and this happens in consciousness, this happens in meditation. Again, this happens in lovemaking, this happens getting kind of lost in nature. It can happen in so many ways Dancing, listening to music, revelation, breathwork, doing yoga, painting art, whatever, painting art, whatever it's getting beyond the small self, the small S self, and remembering and realizing the capital S self. There's a living sense, a living awareness, when you are abiding in the capital S self that you just know. It's not an intellectual understanding, you just know. There's just an is-ness, it's just truth with a capital T that's available to us To not just access that place in five minutes or 10 minutes or an hour in your meditation, and the other 23 and a half hours you're oh, I gotta do this and I gotta do that, and this needs this and this person's got this problem and I gotta put out this fire that, no, there is now. Do I do that 24 hours? Hell, no, but that's what's available, a hundred percent, that's what's available.
Speaker 1:I believe in this teaching. I've experienced that I want it more and more and more, and so I'm doing the work. The work is identifying all the misunderstandings, all the limiting beliefs. It's every time I get triggered or reactive Ooh, let me get curious. There's some more unresolved issues that are requiring healing loving, embracing, love, embraces all things requiring forgiveness, asking for forgiveness. So I'm doing the work. Maybe one day I won't have to, but until that day I'm on the path, I'm on the way and you're with me, we're together. Otherwise, you're going to be listening to this and there are absolutely moments of just knowing.
Speaker 1:Jester says in such a moment, and it takes only a moment, there is immediate awakening to the reality of the capital R and capital W real world. In such a moment, and it takes only a moment in A Course in Miracles they would call this the holy instant there is immediate awakening to the reality of the real world in some form. And notice, I said in some form consciousness then dances back into the extension of spirit, into the extension of reality, into creativity, into creation. In the human form it can say I and my father are one. There are many such statements within the human family that have been uttered to express that awakening, that reality. There's many statements, not just in I and my father are one. There's many ways to express, not just say we're talking beyond just the words. There's many ways to express, not just say we're talking beyond just the words. There's many ways to express this awareness, this awakening, this extension of reality in our awareness, in the human form. You say I and my source, I and my father are one. I and my Creator are one thing, one expression, energy, one love. Beautiful, beautiful. And that's the end of this section. The next section is the creation of the soul. Love you guys.
