Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome back to Living the Way of Mastery. I'm Jason Amoroso, your guide, friend and fellow student. And today we continue with Lesson 16, the Birth of Egoic Consciousness. Section 6, fear has Taken Its Final Form. And Jeshua continues here.

Speaker 1:

Fear has condensed into its final form. Fear has condensed into its final form. There can be no further condensation of the energy that has become fear, for egoic consciousness is fearful consciousness. The ego is fear. That's in italics. The ego is fear, yet it is made of pure power, pure potentiality, unlimited creativity. This is a potent first paragraph again, that can be easy to just kind of read through and keep going, but we don't do that here in the podcast. So here, fear has condensed into its final form. There can be no further condensation of the energy that has become fear, for egoic consciousness is fearful consciousness. Awareness of fear through everything, in every way, and ego, e-g-o, edging God out. Of course there's going to be fear. If we are edging God out, if we believe that somehow we've done the impossible and separated ourselves from the all that is, of course there will be fear there and not love, because God is but love.

Speaker 1:

The ego is fear. Apply that to your life. Anytime you're in fear. You are identifying with the ego. You are thinking that you're not safe. You are thinking that something is lacking within you. So you go searching for things outside of you to fill what you think you are lacking. You go searching for the right soulmate who's going to finally make you feel the love that you dream of. You go searching for the status and recognition that will finally validate that you're special and loved and worthy. You go searching for the money that you think will finally make you relax and feel relief and feel secure that you're safe in a body. You go searching for the right look in your body to look in the mirror and to not hate yourself and judge yourself and criticize yourself and compare yourself to other bodies, but to love and accept yourself. All of these things are outside of you and that is edging God out. We have forgotten, when we identify with the ego, this small, personal, separate self. We are in fear when we're identifying with the ego. The ego is fear and then we can break down.

Speaker 1:

Fear, false evidence appearing real. It's not real, but it appears real and we are believing in it, we are buying into it, we are entertaining it, we are valuing it. So egoic consciousness, this level of awareness of what we are, first of all, is built on falsehood. So, of course, anything it creates is built on falsehood. The ego is fear. Notice where you are in fear in your life. Another word for fear is anxiety. I'm anxious, I'm worried. All forms of fear, everything is a form of fear.

Speaker 1:

I would say Any of the quote-unquote negative emotions anger, sadness on some level are all rooted in fear. They're all part of the egoic consciousness. That's not to judge ourselves when we feel angry or we feel sad, or we feel depressed or we feel worried. This is not food for judgment. That's not. This is not food for judgment. It's us, because we are identifying with the wrong, with what we're not. So that's why we feel that way.

Speaker 1:

Yet the ego consciousness, fearful consciousness, is made of pure power, pure potentiality, unlimited creativity. Now the scared part of us says oh my gosh, I'm at the mercy of the ego. It's got pure power. My ego is pure power. Oh my gosh, how am I going to fight that? How am I going to overcome that? It's pure potential. It can create anything it dreams of or thinks of. It is unlimited creativity. Oh my gosh, I'm screwed. I'm never going to get away from the ego. I'm never going to conquer or overcome my ego. Right, those are the things that we think. But why does it have those things? Power, potentiality and creativity, unlimited. Well, because everything is of God and God does not limit itself in any way. And it is also based in falsehood. It is also not true. It is also not who you are. So you can choose to play the victim to your own ego, to your own sense of self.

Speaker 1:

Make it this big thing, like when people say, oh, my anxiety is X, y, z. Here comes my anxiety. They're identifying with anxiety. They're making it theirs. It's mine. Don't take away my anxiety, it're making it theirs, it's mine. Don't take away my anxiety. It's like a pet. It's a very safe, comfortable pet to be anxious. This is my anxiety. I don't want to take it away. I hate it. I'd say I don't want it. But it's comforting to have my anxiety.

Speaker 1:

It's identification, same with the ego, the sense of me. Oh, oh. We're afraid of dying because we think that this thing we call us will die, and it will. The ego will, the body will, but that's not who we are, that's not what we are. So understanding these things can be a pathway to softening our grip on how we identify ourselves and to open up to more truth, more of the changeless nature of our soul, more of an inviting in, of an awareness of the still small voice inside, which is the still true voice inside of who and what we are whispering. I am that I am.

Speaker 1:

So, while the ego is made in the image and likeness of God, meaning it has pure potentiality, is pure power, it is unlimited creativity. You don't have to participate in that limited creativity, you don't have to participate in that. The higher self of you, the soul self, can say oh, I choose not to participate in that. Yes, the ego comes up with all kinds of creative ways to make me afraid and I choose faith. I choose to be an expression of love, I choose to take the courageous, heart-centered action, even if I feel fear. I can feel the fear and do it anyway. Jeshua continues.

Speaker 1:

Rest assured, you all have the experience of knowing just how ceaselessly creative egoic mind can be, of knowing just how ceaselessly creative egoic mind can be For, without ceasing, it knows how to immediately look upon another brother or sister or event or anything, and that fast, in the twinkling of an eye, in a space that does not even require a thought. Egoic consciousness can change its values, can change its perceptions to create what it wants to create. What it wants to create is that which continues its existence, and this is all over A Course in Miracles. The ego's primary job is survival to exist. The second you stop paying attention to it, the second you remove your identification from it, from this tiny mad idea that somehow you could be separate from the all that is, it ceases to exist in your experience and that's what it's terrified of and that's what it'll do. Anything to keep you identified with it. Yes, you are separate. Yes, you should be afraid. Yes, you need to be focused on survival at all costs. Yes, you are lacking. Yes, you are separate. No, god doesn't really love you unconditionally. Right, that's the ego. Will do anything. It's so creative. That's the first line, rest assured. You have all experienced knowing just how ceaselessly creative egoic mind can be, knowing just how ceaselessly creative egoic mind can be. It will use anything for fear to keep you in the belief of fear, to keep you in the belief that you're lacking, that you're not whole and complete and pure power, pure, infinite love expressed. No, it's gonna use every single thing. It's gonna use yourself and your own mind. It's going to use your partner, the love of your life that you maybe you're married to you're in a committed relationship, it's going to use that. It's going to use your aloneness. If you don't, if you're not in a relationship and you're lonely, it's going to use that. It's going to use your kids. It's going to use your job. It's going to use money. It's going to use anything it can to keep itself alive within you, to keep you focused on it. That's how creative. It can use things that you think are great at first and be like oh my gosh, I won the lottery but I got to pay a lot of taxes. Now everybody wants something from me. Oh my gosh, all these things I got to hoard and keep what I got, whatever it is. It's going to use every single thing it can. And just look at all the ways that we're afraid, worried, fear, doubtful, all throughout the day. How am I going to pay the bills? What about my retirement? How's my body health? Am I going to live forever? Are my kids okay? Whatever it is, is the world okay? Oh, this politician is X and this party is Y. Like it's going to use anything. Just look, this is where you can do the work to apply it in your life, he says. For without ceasing, it knows how to immediately look upon another brother or sister, another event, anything, and quickly change its values, change its perceptions to create what it wants to keep itself in existence. It could use anything. It will use anything, jeshua continues.

Speaker 1:

Much like in your physical body, when a cell becomes cancerous and decides to run amok and act as though it were not dependent on the laws of the body itself that keep the body healthy, it begins to do what it begins to create cells like unto itself. That is cancer. Cancer is merely a misperception. Run amok at the level of the body that is thinking for itself, creating in its own image rather than extending the image of the creator, and living out of harmony with the one mind, capital M mind that creates in radiant joy for no other reason than to extend the good, the holy and the beautiful. That's powerful.

Speaker 1:

Probably everyone who's listening to this has been impacted by cancer. Everyone in the world, I think, has been impacted by cancer in some way, either through hearing stories or, obviously, having, you know, being diagnosed with it or knowing someone who has had it. It's such a big thing in the world. And, of course, most of the at least Western allopathic medicine looks at how do we treat the symptoms versus what is the cause of cancer, and most of it looks at what are the environmental causes toxins, um, things of that nature. And then there are other other belief systems and traditions that look to more emotional causes. Well, this is just a symptom, but what's underneath the symptom? Oh well, I know for my brother and this is this is interesting I'll tell a story my brother who passed from pancreatic cancer back in 2021. He was diagnosed in july of 2020 and had about nine months um of going through chemo and all these things.

Speaker 1:

And uh, there is a tradition of I don't know if it's medicine, but it's called German new medicine. It's this alternative, to say the least, theory that makes a lot of sense when you learn more about it, and there's lots of different traditions and different alternative medicine approaches and I'm going to butcher this because I'm not an expert in it, so I'm giving you my very surface level understanding of it that the body is going to do whatever it needs to do to survive, so it will create more cells in a way to protect itself from a some kind of of trauma shock. So there's a trauma shock, the body responds to survive and creates more cells in response to this trauma shock, and when the trauma shock is over then the body doesn't need those cells anymore. The symptoms arise as an indication that healing is happening. Most of us think that the symptoms means there's something wrong, but in German New Medicine it's kind of the opposite it's the symptoms. Is healing taking place? Now? They also correspond different parts of the body to different shocks, to different traumas.

Speaker 1:

When I had a session with a German new medicine practitioner around my brother and his pancreatic cancer, there were like two different tracks of pancreatic cancer. One of them was a trauma shock related to property. That's like so specific. A trauma shock related to property was one of the tracks around pancreatic cancer, and that blew my mind because for about two years prior to my brother's pancreatic cancer diagnosis he was involved in a very contentious legal battle with someone who he thought was his business partner and then totally screwed him over around an old age living home that he became an investor in, old age living home that he was in and became an investor in, and so he bought this new, this new home and then the person he partnered with, who was the expert who had run other homes, was going to operate it. So my brother's investment in the business was to buy the home and then learn how to run it with this partner and all these things and whatever happened, like they basically screwed him over and he was, you know, whatever. It was a a whole big thing.

Speaker 1:

But that was like a year and a half to two years of him in in intense stress, worried about money, worried about this property, worried about his future because of the money, and he was traveling back and forth from san diego to san francisco or wherever it was like every weekend to do all these things and he had to get all, take all these licenses. He was trying to do it on his own after his partners kind of you know, screwed him and I think they then like stole his money, I don't know, and it was like a bunch of his life savings, so anyways, but it was like a year and a half to two years of intense property dispute, boom, and that's what german new medicine, one of the tracks of pancreatic cancer, is. So it's like understanding that the body we're not a victim to the body. The body is a layer of information. It is connected to our deeper subconscious because we're a whole being and so when there's symptoms arising in the body, instead of just treating the symptom or thinking something's wrong with us and I got to fix this part of the body, there's so much power in getting curious. What's going on in my life right now, what is my biggest stressor right now? What is my biggest fear? How long have I been holding this stress or this fear and just getting curious about what's happening emotionally and mentally in your life, in your relationships, in your business. And maybe there's a correlation there Louise Hay.

Speaker 1:

Louise Hay is a pioneer of kind of mind, body, spirit, at least bringing it into kind of the Western world. Her book, classic book, you Can Heal your Life, has a whole section in the back and she, she wrote the book after she healed her own I think it was uterine cancer. I think she had uterine cancer and she healed her cancer and then wrote this book and it has all the different body parts and then an associated misunderstanding or a trauma or something related to the body part and then a corresponding kind of affirmation to shift the frequency that created the dis-ease, disease, dis-ease. So our body is a beautiful partner with us. It is a messenger. It holds so much wisdom for unresolved issues within us. It's not just oh, I'm broken, I need to be repaired and fixed. Now the body's good. At least, that's not my approach. That's maybe Western medicine that's looking at only symptoms. Anyways, we could have a whole podcast just about that.

Speaker 1:

But bring it back to jeshua and talking about cancer. I think this is his first reference to cancer in the way of mastery, that cancer is merely a misperception run amok. And he's inviting us, using the analogy of the physical, and inviting us to see where our perceptions have run amok, where it's like thinking for itself, creating in its own image, versus extending the image of God in harmony with the one mind that creates in radiant joy, for no other reason than to extend the good, the holy and the beautiful. Where are you creating? In your everything is, by the way, everything that you do is creative. Every thought is a creation. So everything we do is creative, not like oh, I'm trying to, I have a goal and I'm trying to make my goal and create it. Yes, that's one version, but everything, every thought, is creative. So where are you creating?

Speaker 1:

Like, how much of your life are you creating in radiant joy versus obligation or guilt or fear? Well, I don't want this to happen. I'm afraid of this happening, so I better do this versus radiant joy. How much of your life are you creating your thoughts from radiant joy? Probably not much. I mean, that's not something I'm aware of all the time. If I think about that I'm like damn, I don't know. I mean, I'd like to say I want to create more out of radiant joy, only out of radiant joy, for no other reason than to extend the good, the holy and the beautiful, not out of guilt, not out of shame, not out of, again obligation, not out of resentment. How much of your life is lived in being the expression and bringing into expression the good, the holy and the beautiful and joy? Anything else and this is a harsh truth for all of us anything else is out of fear, and so cancer is merely a misperception run amok.

Speaker 1:

The ego, you could say, is a misperception run amok, creating more and more and more and more of itself out of fear. Creating fear versus extending the good, the holy and the beautiful. So Jeshua, I think. But I think he uses cancer because that gets our attention, like, oh my God, the C word, like you hear that, boom, you're paying attention. So it's a great analogy to use because it gets our attention. So he says yet God does not create limitation and therefore he does not withdraw creativity from the power of the ego. Rather, because god is love, all power under heaven and earth is available and can be tapped into by egoic consciousness. So god does not limit ever, he does not withdraw creativity or power from the ego. Why? Nothing real can be threatened. So if God is infinite, all that is the oneness, the one power, why would it feel threatened? Why would it try and stop something from existing? It's that whatever exists is of God. That is why you need not fear anything. It's all god. And when you're feeling separate, when you're identified with the ego, then when you're not understanding and residing in the awareness and consciousness, it's all god, which is christ consciousness.

Speaker 1:

You're afraid. You're afraid of demons, you're afraid of dark entities, you're afraid of curses, you're afraid of demons. You're afraid of dark entities. You're afraid of curses, you're afraid of hexes, you're afraid of people with bad vibes and negativity. When you're in your Christ consciousness, which is not someplace far off, you have to attain. It is the natural essence of your being. Fear not, you are not afraid.

Speaker 1:

It's like geez I say this all the time because it's so true. Jesus wasn't like up can't hang out with the gamblers and the sinners and all those bad, those low vibe people. I don't want to be around them. No, he was like I know who they are, I know who I am, so why would I be afraid? Those were actually the people he was hanging out with, not all the time, but it makes the point. It's like you see so many new age spiritual people like oh, how do I protect my energy when you're in Christ consciousness? You don't need to protect anything. Nothing real can be threatened. What do you need to protect? That's fucking powerful awareness. That's what you're being invited into, that's what you are choosing. And you may not be there yet I'm not there all the time, for sure.

Speaker 1:

But having that awareness, making the conscious choices and being as conscious as possible, and then, when I'm not conscious not judging myself, beating myself up, raking myself over the coals oh, you went unconscious, you did this bad thing. You know that's not good for you Like just recognizing oh, I went asleep for a bit. Oh, oh, look, I went unconscious out of fear, because it's always out of fear. I got caught up in the external and the urgency of the world and I forgot who I was for a minute. Ha, I forgive myself, I love myself and hey, it might not be that quick, maybe it takes a day, a week, a month, a year, but that's the process and we just do that over and over and over again. It's not complicated, so we'll finish with this paragraph. Jessica says so.

Speaker 1:

What is egoic consciousness? You all know what it feels like to be absolutely certain in italics, absolutely certain that you are separate and alone, that you must rely on your own thinking process and that no one beyond, not just the body, not just the boundary of your body or skin, but no one beyond your unique, contracted sense of quote I end quote has any connection to you whatsoever and no one cares. And you lament quote I am alone, I am separate. How on earth am I going to make it? I've got to figure my own way. I've got to figure out how this world works. I've got to make it happen for myself. End quote.

Speaker 1:

That is egoic consciousness, this belief that you are alone, this belief that you are separate, and we all know what it feels like to be absolutely certain that we're separate and alone. No one cares, no one beyond your unique, contracted sense of I, the little, personal, small self who's unworthy, who is lacking so much, who's got to get what it's lacking the validation, the support, the stability, the security, the love. Whatever it's lacking, I got to go out and get it. I got to take from other people because I'm lacking, and if I'm lacking, they must be lacking too. There's only so much to go around.

Speaker 1:

We can all relate to that, and this is where fear has taken its final form. This belief, this, this, this from jeshua's perspective, it's so laughable not in like a making fun of way, not in a belittling way like oh, you're so stupid, you believe in the ego. It's so laughable because it's so obviously false and not true. And so we're being invited to remember this. We're being invited to loosen our grip on how we think we know everything. It must be true that I'm separate. We're so convinced it's like the opposite of humility we think we know. We're being invited to relax that, to step into the not knowing, in a sense, which is where we find our knowing. We're being invited to step into wholeness, to softening, to slowing down, to listening and less searching, seeking finding making. So this is the journey we're on and I'm so honored to be on the journey with you. Fear has taken its final form. We're coming down the homestretch of Lesson 16.

Speaker 1:
