Lesson 16: The Birth of Egoic Consciousness
Section 6: Fear Has Taken Its Final Form
Paragraphs: 20-25

The Way of Mastery teaches us that we are unlimited beings who have created the perception of separation through consciousness itself, and by remembering our true nature we can transcend fear and lack.

• Consciousness is God/Source and we are individuated aspects of that one consciousness
• The physical universe is an out-picturing of our belief in separation
• Fear of lack creates more lack through a self-fulfilling prophecy
• Our true source is not external (jobs, money, others) but consciousness itself
• The ego seeks endlessly while pure spirit only extends
• Seeking reinforces the belief that something is missing
• Awakening is "closer than your breath, simply a decision away"
• Freedom comes when we're not afraid to feel our feelings

Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome back to Living the Way of Mastery. We are living the way of mastery, not just reading about the theory, we're putting it into practice every single day. Our daily life is our ashram and then we move into mastery just by our commitment. And today I'm Jason Amoroso, by the way, your guide and friend and fellow student. And we are continuing in Lesson 16, the Birth of A Goa Consciousness.

Speaker 1:

Section 6, fear has Taken Its Final Form. Paragraph, at least in my book and version. Paragraph 20, where Jeshua continues. Beautiful paragraph. I mean, how awesome is that.

Speaker 1:

If you knew meaning. We don't really know right now. Our soul knows, but we don't really know right now. Our soul knows, but we don't really know. We think we're still believing in the tiny mad idea that somehow we did the impossible and separated from God. But if you knew and you will know again.

Speaker 1:

That's why healing is remembering, as you remember, that you are unlimited one. You are the unlimited one made in the image and likeness of God. You are creativity, that is God. Creative consciousness and creation. That's all it is. That's what you do nonstop. You just don't realize that you're using the creative power of consciousness, which is God, universe, source, abwoon, as some call it to create the experience of separation. And then you create the experience. You can't actually be separate, just like in a video game if you're playing a character, you're not actually that character, even though that character is going through a lot of different things depending on the game. Same for you. So if you knew, if you remembered, as you remember, that you are the unlimited one, you don't fear the creation of the golden coins again because you know that your source is not in the golden coins. You know that you are unlimitedly is that the right word Unlimited in what you can create. And it's not necessarily through, like your efforts, right?

Speaker 1:

Jeshua is not saying anything here about taking certain actions. The creation happens in consciousness. You would never fear the creation of golden coins again. And when we are fearing the creation of our golden coins, when we fear creation, what are we creating? Are we creating the golden coins? No, we're creating the fear. We're actually creating the lack that we don't want. When we are afraid that we're in lack. Right, it's like a self-fulfilling prophecy as a man thinketh, so shall he experience. This is kind of the law of attraction, but I'm not even going to go there.

Speaker 1:

What Jeshua is saying is. If you knew you were the unlimited one, you would know that you are whole, you would know that nothing can be added to you and you're not missing or lacking anything, and that everything in the physical is in truth it's all energy, it's all consciousness, and in truth there is only wholeness. So your source does not come from your paycheck, does not come from your boss, it does not come from your job, it does not come from the Federal Reserve or the government or the economy or the policies which we so a part of us, the, the ego so is bought into. But your source comes from the quantum field. It comes from your consciousness, your awareness, your declarations creating your experience. Jesher says you would never believe that you must live in lack, ever, if you knew what you are, if you knew who you were, which you will. This is the process of waking up. You'll never live in lack. But you are still, for the most part, clinging, clinging to the belief that you are that small little thought of separation called the egoic mind, still struggling to find God, not recognizing that it is the very power of God's presence, it is consciousness itself, from which you create the perception that you are separate, that God's somewhere out there, that you are lacking something, or that you are a sinner, that there's something inherently wrong with you. That's shame, right, shame is there's something wrong with me. And he continues.

Speaker 1:

So there you are, sitting upon your chair, and you are that one. You are in form. In italics, you are in form, that is, you have created a perception of yourself, small s self. You've created a perception of yourself that includes the experience of being a body-mind, which is, in italics, is separate from all other bodies. It's the perception that you are a body-mind and that you're separate. It is separate from the rock. Obviously, you can look out your window and tell that where the body is that you identify with is in a different spatial point than every other object. So he's just explaining the terrain here.

Speaker 1:

You have a tiny mad idea of separation. You have a tiny mad idea that somehow you are separate from all, everything else and you are in a body mind. You've created the perception, not the reality, with a capital R. You're creating the perception of a small self in this body mind, separate from other bodies. That's your experience. But that's not truth with a capital T or reality with a capital R. But this is how you are using the power of God, consciousness, creativity, in this moment.

Speaker 1:

And this text, this teaching, is inviting you, if you want a different experience, to have a different experience. If you want to live in illusion, you can live in illusion for a long time, but at some point you don't want illusion anymore. You want to wake up to reality, because reality is way more fun. But you have free will and you can choose suffering or separation for as long as you want. But at some point you'll be like, okay, I'm sick and tired of this, I don't want this anymore. But we've kind of gotten lost in our own labyrinth and Yeshua is giving us, showing us, the way out, so to speak. It makes me think about Westworld, at least season one with the labyrinth. I thought the first season of that show was great and then after that kind of went downhill. But this idea of the labyrinth, that we've kind of gotten lost in our own dream and Jeshua is throwing us a lifeline and being like, hey, here's the way out, he continues.

Speaker 1:

That is what the world is. Exclamation point that's what the world is. This universe is the attempt to create a reflection that convinces in italics, convinces you that the first fearful thought of separation is the truth of who you are. You are using, or have unwittingly been using, your physical universe to constantly reflect to you what must be the truth that you are separate from all of creation. I mean, this doesn't say it all. This section is saying it all.

Speaker 1:

This is what the world is. The world is not an objective reality. It's not this solid matter thing. Everything that exists in form is an out picturing of consciousness. Consciousness is God, the all that is, this intelligence, this power, the creative awareness. That's what consciousness is, and it creates individuated aspects of itself that are still itself, individuated aspects of itself that are still itself. And then the individuated aspect has this tiny, mad idea of separation and then out pictures, because that's what consciousness does out pictures and creates that experience.

Speaker 1:

So the universe, the physical universe that you experience, is the attempt, means it didn't happen, it was an attempt. If you try to pick up a book and then you pick up the book, you didn't try to pick up the book, you actually picked it up. When you try to pick up the book, you're not actually doing it. So this was an attempt to create a reflection that convinces you. The separation is actually real, but it's an illusion, but we experience it as it's real and we're so invested.

Speaker 1:

He says you are using, or have unwittingly been using, this physical universe. That really isn't physical, in that it's matter, but it's an outpicturing of consciousness to reflect to you what must be the truth that you're separate. So it's again. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. The consciousness has created the universe to prove to itself that it's separate. Look, look at all these planets, look at all the space between me and you. Look at the rock. I'm not the rock, I'm this body, so it's it's. It's amazing, isn't it amazing? I'm this body, so it's amazing, isn't that amazing? The consciousness creates a whole, almost seemingly infinite universe of separation of objects, subject and object, to convince itself that it's separate. See, look, you're not wrong.

Speaker 1:

The tiny mad idea is true, secretly knowing the whole time that it's not true, that it's impossible, because it's a tiny mad idea that the ego just took seriously. Right, that's more of a line. That's a line from A Course in Miracles and the Way of Mastery. You just took it seriously that this was true. Let's laugh at it. That's what Jeshua is inviting us to. He's laughing not in like a mean way, but like oh my gosh, look at this dream. We got caught up in the dream and as we wake up we'll laugh too. He says this world is nothing but the reflection of that thought.

Speaker 1:

Yet even here, that one pervades all things and the realization of your capital S self, as that one is closer than your own breath, simply a decision away, makes me think about that line again. I don't really know the Bible. I remember Michael Reverend. Michael Beckwith at Agape International Spiritual Center in LA, when kind of my spiritual awakening started, would say closer than your breathing, nearer than your hands and feet. I know that's some Bible verse, but it's this idea that God is even closer than your're breathing. It is the very essence we hear God so often. We think the separate being, god is life with a capital L, the allness Like it's this tiny mad idea of separation being outpictured to prove to ourselves. But even that whole dichotomy, that whole dynamic, rather the whole paradigm of separation, wouldn't even exist if it not were contained or within the expansive consciousness of God. That's how God is all power. Nothing exists outside of the infinite of the allness of the one. It's all one. So even inside of that free will you can have the tiny mad idea of separation. God doesn't disallow something because that would put a limit. It's all available and then you get to choose what you want your experience to be. It's just and, and jeshua says it's a simple decision away. That's it now.

Speaker 1:

Your conscious mind, at least mine sometimes like, well, why aren't I happy all the time, why aren't I peace? Why don't I have all the money? If it's a simple decision way, that's what I want. I'm choosing that right now. But that's like. We know that level of like.

Speaker 1:

The conscious mind, uh, first of all, is more of the ego mind. If we're thinking about the personal sense of I, that's not god consciousness, that's not higher consciousness. Higher consciousness is an awareness that there is no I, there's no, there's no me. Rather, there's the I, the I am, but there's no me, there's no personal me, trying to get what I'm lacking right. Even in that thinking process well, why don't I have the things I'm missing comes, comes from the consciousness of the ego, the tiny, mad idea that somehow I'm lacking. So we just start to see this whole thing and it's kind of it is. It becomes funny, and Jeshua continues here there is great richness not found in any other dimension the richness of the dramas of separation, of seeking, seeking, seeking, seeking.

Speaker 1:

For example, one who is seeking will say well, I've read A Course in Miracles one time and it didn't seem to work. I'll read it again. Oh, that didn't work. Well, maybe I'll go try this form of meditation. I'll do TM. I'll pay the whatever it is $2,000,. Get my mantra do the TM. Well, maybe I'll go try this form of meditation. I'll do TM. I'll pay the whatever it is $2,000, get my mantra do the TM. Shit, that didn't work. Maybe I'll try Buddhism. No, that didn't work. I'll try Christianity. No, that didn't work. I'll try drugs. That will do it. Or I'll do plant medicine, I'll do ayahuasca, I'll do mushrooms, I'll do DMT, I'll do whatever. That didn't work. The very energy of seeking is the egoic energy, for only the ego can seek, pure spirit can only extend. And there is a huge difference. And we've all done this right.

Speaker 1:

I love kind of the opening introduction or chapter one. I don't remember exactly where it is, but it's in the beginning of the book called Letting Go by Dr David Hawkins. He was the author of Power Versus Force. Many people have heard of Power Versus Force, so Letting Go colon, a Pathway to Surrender by David Hawkins is, for me, like every human should have that in their library and read it once a year. And in the beginning he says you've tried all the things. And he lists like. It goes on and on. It's like three pages of listing You've tried meditation, you've tried, you know chopping wood, you've tried drugs, you've tried breath work, you've tried, you know all the different things. It's a huge. All the therapies. It's like a it's a-page list of all the different things people have tried and they don't lead us anywhere.

Speaker 1:

Because we're seeking jesus, saying the ego seeks. Well, the answer's got to be in the next thing let me go to this oracle. Let me go to this healer. Let me go to this uh, you know medium. Let me get the end. Let me get my kashuk records read like and it's innocent, there's no judgment. It is very innocent, right? It's what the ego does, because the ego, by definition, is lacking. It's missing something. It doesn't believe that it's part of the all and has access to it all. It's separate, and so it needs to find what it's missing. So it looks everywhere and and and spirituality is fair, it's all fair game.

Speaker 1:

Let me look in the scriptures, let me look in, like he says let me look in christianity nope, didn't work. Let me look in buddhism still not happy. Let me try hinduism still not happy. Let me try islam still not happy. Let me try judaism still not happy. Let me try exercise still not happy, you know. Let me try my still not happy, you know. Let me try my diet still not happy. Like right. Let me try this teacher or that teacher still not happy. Let me try red light therapy still not happy. Let me try ice plunging still not happy. Let me try breath work still not happy.

Speaker 1:

Right, because it's the energy of seeking. And he says I don't know again. Of course Miracles Way Mastery is saying the same thing. He says seek but do not find. That's what the ego is. And in a way it doesn't want to find Because then, once it finds, it knows the game's over and the ego will cease to exist in awareness. So it wants you to keep searching and it wants you to have some progress, but not enough where you ever fully awaken, because then the game's over.

Speaker 1:

And he says the difference is the ego seeks because it thinks that there's something else, that it's not that missing, some piece of information, some tool or technique that's just out of reach. And hey, I can relate to this, if I can just like. Sometimes it feels like there's something missed, like it's just there, it's just on the other side of a breakthrough, it's just I'm just missing this information, then it's all going to lock into place, then I'll get it, then I'll be at peace and then I can manifest whatever I want, right. But that's really come from a place of lack. If I want to manifest everything I want, it means that I'm wanting and it means that on some level I feel like I'm lacking. So I want something. So the ego can only seek. But pure spirit is all All. There's nothing outside. It doesn't need to seek, it knows. So it just extends, it just expands itself, it just creates. That's what it is to continue to create more and more of itself in unique and cool and creative ways. There's no limit, but there's nothing missing. So that's the huge difference. Jeshua continues.

Speaker 1:

Egoic consciousness plays itself out through the forms of special. This is kind of a separate topic, so let's end here. We'll get into special relationships next time. This is kind of like a natural ending point. Good, good, good, all right. Love you, hope you get value from this, hope you know what do I hope? I hope that you experience kindness today to yourself.
