Living The Way of Mastery with Jason Amoroso
Each day I will read a passage from The Way of Mastery and share my commentary on it. The intention is to provide an opportunity to develop a consistent, simple spiritual study practice and grow together.
Living The Way of Mastery with Jason Amoroso
Lesson 16: Choosing Love over fear
What if the end of seeking is a choice you can make today? We dive into a five-line practice that reframes how we meet stress, conflict, and uncertainty: only love is real, you are not the body, I and my Father are one, I am awake and walk this planet as Christ, I choose love over fear. Rather than chasing better outcomes, we practice better perception—using breath, gratitude, and clear decisions to withdraw judgment and end the ego’s momentum.
Across the hour, we connect mystic insight to lived experience. We unpack how attention shapes reality and why events are neutral until we label them. We explore breath as a direct bridge to spirit—slow, nasal breathing as a signal of safety that makes love’s perspective available in real time. Forgiveness shows up as radical self-honesty: owning that our judgments generate suffering and releasing them to recover peace. This is not denial of pain; it is refusing to let pain define identity. We talk through the discomfort of letting go of victimhood, the courage to feel what hurts, and the freedom on the other side.
Transformation, here, isn’t self-improvement. It’s metamorphosis. When we choose love over fear, we stop polishing the caterpillar and grow wings. To make that practical, we build small, repeatable habits: write the mantra, set reminders, curate media inputs, and practice daily—because practice makes permanent. We apply these tools across relationships, money, health, and parenting so that challenges become curriculum rather than proof that life is against us. If nothing real can be threatened, we can meet every moment with steadiness, clarity, and an open heart.

Hello and welcome back to Living the Way of Mastery. I am Jason Amaroso, your guide and friend and fellow student. And today we continue with lesson 16, the birth of a Goa Consciousness. And the final section here is section seven, the end of all seeking. Choosing to live as though you are not the ego. Choosing to live as though you are not the ego. So what are we choosing to live from? I think we all know, but let's hear from Jeshua. He begins this section saying, but the end of all seeking occurs when one dares in italics, dares, to hold within the mind a different in italics, different thought. You have heard it many times through a course in miracles, through many of my other channels. Only love is real. You are not the body. I and my father are one. I am awake and walk this planet as Christ. I choose love over fear. A beautiful mantra meditation. Again, there's so many little ways to implement this. Write this down. Put it as a screensaver on your phone. Spend two minutes meditating or just doing this mantra. Only love is real. And it goes back to the first line in A Course in Miracles. Uh it's this, it kind of brings the same feeling for me as yay, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil. The first line in A Course in Miracles is nothing real can be threatened. So if you're seeing something that you perceive as being able to be threatened, which includes yourself and the body, it's not real. With a capital R, it is not real. It is only your fear, your misperception, your misunderstanding that is giving the illusion that it is real. Only love is real. You are not the body. Yes, you seem to be having an experience of being in a body, but you are not the body. You are pure loving consciousness. I and my father are one. I and my father, my mother, my creator, my source, whatever word works for you. Again, it doesn't matter. I and my father are one, not two, not separate. I'm not outside of God, trying to find God, trying to seek God, trying to get God, trying to get God's good graces so I get what I want, so I feel safe and secure, so I can be relaxed. None of that. I and my father are one. I am God expressed as this, that in words and language we call me. But there's really no me. There is one life expressing as the stars, as the sun, as the planets, as the rocks, as the birds, as the trees, as the water, as the whatever. Anything in existence is the same source expressed, it's energy, right? When we forget how mind-boggling this is. And I say it over and over again as a reminder. Like we live in this mysteriously magical world. When when you think something is solid, and I'm gonna knock on the desk that my phone is sitting on, you think that's solid. But when you look closer with microscopes and closer and closer, matter is actually not really solid. It's made up of these what atoms and protons and neutrons and electrons. And you look even closer at that, there's vast amounts of space between these tiny, tiny, tiny little molecules. And when you look closer at that, it really is all energy. And what directs energy, and the quantum physicists are starting to prove what again, Jeshua and so many of the other enlightened masters and beings that have walked this earth have shared. What directs energy, matter, is consciousness. When you split a particle to other sides of planet Earth and you do something to one particle, the other particle that you split it from has the same response, right? It's like there's a whole other life outside of what we think. It's like we are, in a way, like we are in the matrix, this like simulation. It's not real, but it feels real. And we think that there are these rules that we have to play by, and yet there are these beings, these consciousnesses, these masters. They're masters to us, but maybe that's ordinary consciousness for some, that see beyond the veil, that see that there's so much more than meets the eye, that see that your consciousness influences matter, that your consciousness creates your inner experience. So it doesn't matter what's happening outside, because what you choose to perceive and experience becomes your experience. This is the message of Christ, of Jesus, of the Christ consciousness. That no matter what's happening, I'm grateful. It doesn't matter if my brain or other people label it as bad or wrong or inconvenient. I filter it immediately through the lens of I'm grateful for that. And maybe my mind needs to get creative to say, well, why are you grateful for this? Well, I'm going to create a reason for gratitude. It's teaching me, it's giving me the opportunity to choose love over judgment, faith over fear. That's why I'm grateful for it. A part of me sees it as a threat, as dangerous, as bad or wrong, but that's one part of me. I'm going to invest in the part of me that chooses to see it as an opportunity, as an opportunity to get creative, as an opportunity to forgive, as an opportunity to be peaceful in the midst of what seems like chaos. I and my father are one. I am awake and walk this planet as Christ. This is a declaration that we get to make so that when we go on social media or we're caught up in the busyness of the holidays and somebody cuts us off, or you know, somebody in the grocery store doesn't isn't really even paying attention to anyone around them, and they're just moving their card and they cut in front of you, uh, or they're just blocking the way, then you can have love and compassion for yourself because it's only your judgment of them, first of all, that creates your upset. All events are neutral. It's your judgment. You it's my judgment, right? I take ownership. My judgment, my perception that creates the suffering inside of me. Oh, look at them. They're clueless, look at them, they're selfish, look at them, they're lost in their phone, walking across the street, and they might get hit by a car. So I'm judging them, using this as an example versus like having compassion for myself. That is what forgiveness is. It's self-forgiveness of the judgments we place on others. I'm forgiving myself for not seeing correctly, for not choosing rightly. And then the last thing is I choose love over fear. And just notice when you're in fear, so many people identify with being anxious, worried. Oh, it's my anxiety. They cling to it like it's their identity. Oh, my anxiety is acting up instead of uh uh I'm choosing to focus on fear. I'm choosing to indulge, to feed fear. And so that's creating my experience. I live in a fearful world. Yep, the universe says, here you go. You're gonna experience lots of things to be afraid of. If you have the mindset of I live in a harmless world, then you will experience everything as harmless. Maybe not to your body. Hey, maybe you still your body is obviously flesh and bone, but you're not identifying with the body. I live in a harmless world. The I, that is the I am. Nothing can harm me, the true me, the I am me. Yeah, the body can be harmed, but the I am, my consciousness cannot be harmed. I live in a harmless world. Nothing real can be threatened. It's like when you play a video game, you know that the monsters in the video game can kill your video game character, but they're not killing you. It's the same kind of awareness. All right, this is the mantra. Um, through many of my other channels. So Jeshua's saying, of course, miracles is one of my channels, the way of mastery is one of my channels. There's many challenge channels that I communicate through. Why would it be limited to one, the Bible? And then anything else is blasphemy. Like, that does not make sense, to me at least. If you're an infinite being commu and you're in communication with all of creation, why would you limit your communication to one book and teaching? Which, by the way, there's a lot of debate around and theories that like has been so butchered and censored and uh uh perverted that it's missing a lot of the original translations and meanings. Anyway, that's besides the fact, why would you limit it to one channel? Why not have many channels? And Jeshua says, What does that mean? Meaning this mantra of only love is real, you are not the body, I and my father are one, I am awake and walk this planet as Christ. I choose love over fear. What does that mean? Love is pure spirit with a capital S. Love is pure spirit. Fear is contraction, density, false perception, egoic consciousness. When you choose love with a capital L over fear, you must decide in italics. You must decide not to respond according to the momentum of egoic consciousness. You must decide to live as though you are not the ego. In this way, what has been formed in italics becomes transformed in italics. That which pervades and extends beyond what has been formed is transformed. So he gives us this mantra, this truth statement, this uh different thought, as he calls it, that love is pure spirit. Love is pure spirit. I looked up because I wanted to, I've said this before and I know this, but I just want to see what the internet says. And it says the Latin root for spirit is spiritus, which means breath and comes from the verb spirare, meaning to breathe. This route evolved to include related meanings like soul, courage, vigor, and life. That's awesome. Love is pure spirit. Spirit means breath. It is the way that we connect to and experience ourselves. And now that is not limited to the physical act of breathing, meaning when you can't breathe anymore, when you don't have oxygen and your body ceases to operate, that you cease to exist. I think that's the fear when we identify with the body that I will cease to exist. But by definition, if you exist, you exist. And if you don't exist, it doesn't exist. So you are eternal by nature. And the breath is just this simple, simple tool to remind you, to connect you with your soul, with who you really are. It's so beautiful and so simple, right? It's the first thing you do when you come out of the womb, and it's the last thing that you do when you leave the body. And it's so simple, it's just there, it's abundant for you the whole time. Most people don't ever even think about and take their breath for granted. Like, oh, when I when I inhale, I receive. When I exhale, I'm not like, oh my God, is my next breath there? And living in this lack and scarcity experience of life. No, you don't even think about it. You take thousands of breaths a day. You're receiving, and on the exhale, in a way I would say you're expressing. You're receiving and expressing, receiving and releasing. It's amazing, it's beautiful. And then transformation, Jeshua talks about transformation. Another word related is metamorphosis, this changing shape to transform from one thing to another. This is the invitation for us here. And let's go back to so love is pure spirit, fear is contraction. Notice when you're in fear. And that includes minor fear, like worry, concern. Anytime you are futurizing a negative result and you're afraid, notice are you feeling expansive in your energy or contracted? Does your heart feel open or does your heart feel closed? So this is moving from like thoughts and ideas to somatically in the body, start to become in touch with the body. When you are afraid, I'll tell you right now, when you're afraid, you are not breathing slow and deep. You're not. You're probably, and you're probably not breathing through your nose either. When you're worried, when you're next time, if you can notice your worry, notice your fear, notice your anxious thinking, and be like, how's my body feel? Oh my God, am I breathing through my nose or my mouth? Most likely your mouth. Am I breathing slow and deep or more rapid and shallow? So you're probably breathing rapid and shallow and through your mouth because you're in this fight or flight, or freeze or fawn, or you know, those are the fight, flight, freeze, fawn. But you're in your fear, you're contracted, you're tight, and your dense density, this heaviness and false perception. Not true. An egoic consciousness, this tiny man idea that I'm this lonely, less than, unworthy, I'm gonna say piece of shit, not enough little thing. But when you choose love over fear, so it doesn't mean you don't have, you don't experience fear, you don't have fearful thinking. Jeshua never says that. But he's saying you're choosing one. You get to choose. That's the whole, hear this, please. That is the whole empowering part. If you don't choose, it's not empowering. If somebody does it for you, if somebody gives something to you, it's not empowering. If you choose it, if you create it, if you in a way earn it, you are empowered. You have the power. You're not powerless where you need somebody else to do it. You don't need someone else, God, Jeshua. First of all, God already gave you everything. So you don't need Jeshua. Jeshua's like, at some point, hey, I'll help you, but at some point you'll be like, hey, Jeshua, thank you. I don't need your help anymore. I got this. That's fucking awesome. That is empowering. He is always, it's not a cult where the leader is like, you gotta follow me and do and do whatever I tell you to do. And then you'll get the power. That's a cult. That's a cult leader. No, Jeshua's like, God's within you. The power is within you, the choice is within you. When you choose love over fear, you must decide in italics, decide not to respond according to the momentum of egoic consciousness. So he's acknowledging that the egoic consciousness, the fear, the lack, the unworthiness, it can gain a momentum. It can feel like the snowball going down the hill. It's gonna steamroll us, and we're just gonna get caught in like the cartoons. The character gets run over by the snowball, and then its arms and legs are flying out of the snowball because it's become part of the snowball. That's what egoic consciousness can feel like sometimes. The fear, the specialness, going back to last episode, the being on the comparison train of I'm better than or I'm less than, so I'm gonna feel great or feel like shit, and that's the roller coaster of my life. That's the momentum of goic consciousness, the need to be right over being at peace and forgiveness. No, look, they are wrong. That is wrong. And I am right. I'm on the side of good. You know, every quote unquote bad guy thinks they're the good guy and thinks the good guys are the bad guys. Like, don't you see that in every single story? You must decide to live as though you are not the ego because you're not. But you got to make that decision. Am I gonna choose to continue judging this person? That maybe they did something, all events are neutral. Maybe they did something that the world and my brain and my therapist and my parents and anyone I tell the story to deems that it's wrong. And I'm justified in being the victim. I'm justified in my trauma. I'm justified in my judgment of them. And when I stay there, what happens? I suffer, you suffer. When we stay in that state, we suffer. We think we're making them the bad guy, and then they suffer. They're living their own life. They might even be dead, but we're the ones still judging them, still maybe cursing God that you allowed this to happen. If you were a just God, this wouldn't happen when I was a baby or a kid. The car accident, the molestation, the abuse, the rape, the bankruptcy, the divorced parents, the whatever, the sibling who died, or I got maimed, or whatever. And I'm not making light of this, but I'm just saying when we live in that, we are the ones who suffer. Not the other person, not God, not the situation. We have to decide. And no one's saying it's an easy choice at first. As we wake up, we realize there's really no other choice. It's suffering or it's freedom. And the part of us that is committed to being the victim, committed to being powerless, committed to having the excuses, committed to being in the pain because it's familiar and comfortable. And we don't want to feel it to free ourselves. The way you free yourself and let go of pain is by feeling it fully. We don't want to do that. It feels too painful. We don't want to relive it. So we stay in this stasis of pain and we blame other people's situations, the past, and we are the one who suffer the entire time. It's simple, it's not always easy, especially to the part of us that wants to feel safe in the familiar and the known and not even risk what it feels like to be free and to feel and forgive. Who am I without my judgment? Who am I without my past of being the victim? What does that mean about me if I'm free of that? Holy shit. Well, maybe now I have to say it's up to me now. And that's scary because I don't know if I can do it. I don't know if I can take responsibility for my life. My whole life I've blamed this situation, this other person. And now all of a sudden, if I let that blame go, if I let the identity of being the victim go, then who am I? And am I enough to make it in this world? Am I enough? Those are the kind of thoughts that the fears that we have that keep us from an open heart, that keep us from forgiveness. It's it's actually, if we're honest, not about the other person, the past, the thing. It's really about us. That's why Jeshua says self-honesty is the greatest act of self-love. And this is a decision. Decisions are not hard. You make them or you don't make them. It's when we're hemming and hawing in the fear about what might happen if I make it or I don't make it. What if I make a decision? It's the wrong thing. We're all in our head, we're all fucked up in our thinking, we're all in the fear, we're all in the worry, we're all in the what if I'm outside of my comfort zone, the change, right? The decision itself is binary. Yes or no. I'm doing it, I'm not doing it. That's the easy part. It's all the other bullshit that makes it really painful. But it's easy. You must decide to live as though you are not the ego. And the ego is tempting. The ego wants to pull you in. The ego wants you to feed it. You are justified in being the victim. This was bullshit. This is unfair. The government did do this to you. All those other people are creating all the problems, right? The ego wants to hook you. It is so feel so good to be righteous and someone else is wrong. It feels so good. Let's just acknowledge that. But you must decide to live as though you are not this, that you are one, that everything is one. And what you do to another, what you think of another is what you think of yourself. And Jeshua says, in this way, what has been formed becomes transformed when you choose love over fear. When you have the courage to soften and open your heart, when you want to armor up and you want to contract. Not a better version of a different thing entirely. Let me repeat that. Transformation, metaphor, metamorphosis is not a better version of. It's a different thing entirely. The caterpillar becomes the butterfly. The butterfly is not a cow. Those are two different things. Transformation, you are being invited to welcome in, to choose transformation. And this scares the shit out of the ego because the ego knows the game is up. If you choose this, if you choose love over fear, the game's up. The ego ceases to exist. And that's the whole modus operandi is to exist. I think we're going to stop here. There's more that I was planning on covering, but I went off on like a billion different tangents and side roads. Um, I hope this was helpful to you on some level. I hope this is supporting you in really deepening in the uh in the transmission of information. But then really, I want to go from information to application. That's how you experience mastery and transformation by applying these things in your daily life, not just understanding them and agreeing with them or disagreeing, but not just intellectualizing it. Like really seeing, well, where is this showing up in my life? Where are my blind spots? Where are my blocks? Right? Seek not for love, says Rumi, and of course in miracles and probably the way mastery somewhere. Seek for the obstacles you've built up against love and release them. And but you got to see them first, right? You can't change what you don't see, what you're not aware of. That's why awareness is the first step to everything. And then intention. My intention is to transform this. Right now, I don't know how I'm getting the tools from Jeshua. I'm putting these things into practice. Practice, practice, practice makes permanent. Doesn't make perfect. If you practice something incorrectly, you get really good at doing something incorrectly. Perfect practice makes perfect. Practice makes permanent. So let us practice with an open heart these principles and not be, we don't have to be perfect though. Put them into practice. Have a daily practice, remind yourself of these things. Have reminders on your phone, on your desk, in your office, in your bedroom, quotes, pictures, whatever it is. Immerse yourself in this. Right? If you spent 99 or 99% of your time in this teaching and 1% in the world, I think you know, we're, and let's even go 50-50 would be amazing. But most of us spend, you know, 50, 60, 70, 80% in the phone, in the gossip, in the fear, in the in all the shows on TV about murder and drama, and how much do we consume? That's this. Maybe my podcast is the one thing a day you consume and it's 20 to 30 minutes. Maybe. Okay, maybe you add a little five-minute meditation into that. Add 10 minutes of reading at night or in the morning, right? And start to increase the things that you consume. Be intentional about what you're consuming into your consciousness. That's why I never listen to these like true murder podcasts. I don't like horror movies. They've never really sat well. I'm not judging them as bad. They're just, and some people love them. That's just not my thing. So I try to limit any kind of consumption around that. But that's me. And I'm not perfect with it. That's why it's a process. All right. Anyways, enough talking. Love you guys. Have an amazing day. Hey, it's December 2nd, two days in a row. We're on a little streak now. If I can get a streak going, and you got to start somewhere, if you've lost your practice for the last six months, a year, two months, whatever it is, start today. You got to start with day one, and then you do tomorrow, day two. And you just get a different kind of momentum, not egoic consciousness momentum going. All right, all right, all right. Love you guys. If you get value from the podcast, please like, please subscribe, please give us a good review on Apple if you're there. And if you're not an Apple, you're listening on Spotify, uh, if you could go on to Apple Podcasts and find the podcast. It'll take you probably less than a minute and then give us a good review there. Because I don't think Spotify lets us give reviews. Anyways, love you guys. Send me an email. Hello at Revelation Breathwork. Let me know you're listening. Let me know you're out there. I'd love to connect with you. And I'm throwing this in there too. If you want more support of this in your life, let me know. If we have enough people, we'll create another group. If you want one-on-one support, I'm available for that as well. I had somebody in Ireland listening to the podcast, reading the book. They reached out to me. And now we're working one-on-one together for a year about what's going on in their life and how to apply these principles in their daily life. So it's very much practical of what you want to create, of the challenges, of the hardships in relationship, money, health, parenting, whatever it is. We're applying these things in your daily life. Using them. They are your curriculum, not to get out of them, but to use them for transformation, for your peace, for your love, for your expression, for who you know you are to be and living that in the world. Send me an email too if you're interested in that. I have one or two spots available in 2026. And if you're feeling the call, let's go. All right, have an awesome day, and I'll talk to you next time.
