The theme for all four of these was they had fun. They all focused on having very clear headlines, sub-headlines, talking about the impact that this event was specifically for. I love the angle of the monthly giving. They all had videos instead of photos. They all said thank you to supporters. So think about a goal that is tied to something like why are you asking for X amount of funds? And lean into that. Hey, there, you're listening to the Missions to Movement's podcast and I'm your host, dana Snyder, digital Strategist for Non-profits and Founder and CEO of Positive Equation. This show highlights the digital strategies of organizations making a positive impact in the world. Ready to learn the latest trends, actionable tips and the real stories from behind the feed, let's transform your mission into a movement. Hello, hello. We are officially at episode 86 of the Missions to Movement's podcast, and that is extremely exciting. I am so glad you've joined me here today and I think this is gonna be a pretty fun one. Essentially, I want to kind of rapid fire go through four different Giving Tuesday campaigns on the Give Butter platform and share with you why I love them, what they did that was really creative, what I think worked really well and led to their success. So at this time Giving Tuesday is on November 28th and right now, at the time of this recording, we are about 103 days out. So final countdown is coming up and I wanted to use this time to hopefully generate some brainstorms and share some really amazing campaigns from the past couple of years. I always love learning by seeing what others have done right and how can we take a spit on that and make it creative and make hours. So I'm gonna share four examples. Rapid fire I have my baby monitor right next to me a little girl. She normally takes about 30 minute-ish naps, so we're gonna do this fast and if you start to hear some coo's and cries, you know we're wrapping it up. So before I kickstart, I do wanna say the episode last week with Floyd Jones is incredible. If you haven't listened to that, please do. I mean, he is just. He has so much amazing positive energy in his soul. Just listen to it. It's just gonna make you feel good. It's gonna make you feel good and expired about all the fundraising you're doing. Get you in the right head space. So listen to that first, and then now I'm gonna dive into some just actual campaign page ideas and strategies. So before I do that, floyd and I, together are going to be hosting if you know both of our energies a very dynamic webinar coming up on September, and it's all about five ways to supercharge your year-end fundraising with monthly giving. Now you know I'm a big component of monthly giving from my monthly giving mastermind program, and so I wanted to share how, on Giving Tuesday, you can really be strategic of asking people to be monthly donors, and I have an example from one of the campaigns of this. But this webinar is going to be on September 13th at 2 pm Eastern time. There is a link in the show notes to RSVP and essentially what we're gonna be doing is I don't think I need to tell you the importance of recurring giving, but what we are going to do is how you can harness your most dedicated donors and new ones to really create sustainable support all year round, starting with Giving Tuesday. So we'll talk about the strategies of how you can launch a successful monthly giving initiative, really utilizing the momentum of Giving Tuesday, how that helps with donor retention, financial stability and, of course, the ability for you to plan better in the future. So I will link to that webinar in the show notes. Again, that's September 13th, don't miss it. Also, when I mention Give Butters Giving Tuesday programs, one of the things that I find amazing about them is that they give back. So Give Butter Give Is Back. This Giving Tuesday is going to be giving back $35,000. And all you have to do to register for that is Set up a free give butter account, submit your campaign, raise a minimum of $500 to enter. That's it, and then they're gonna give away Awards, with $1,000 rewards and $5,000 awards. So make sure, if you are using give butter as your platform, this giving Tuesday, submit your campaign. All you have to do is raise a minimum of $500 to enter. Okay, so with that, I am like live on my site. Going through these right now, I'm gonna give you kind of like cliff notes about what I love about each of them and I will link to each of these campaigns so you can see the visuals and what they actually looked like after this podcast. All right, number one the headline is our Alabama restaurant doesn't charge customers. Meet Drexel and honey bees. Donations only restaurant. Okay, a, that's super cool. I want to visit this restaurant in Alabama, so bad one thing that immediately stood out to me Not only was it a donations only restaurant, but their sub headline says Donate to fund the restaurants first three months of the new year and feed 4,500 people. This is awesome. I love a specific impact goal. They know this is happening in November. We want to fund the restaurants first three months. It's time sensitive and they're telling you approximately how many people they feed during a three month time period of 4500 people Awesome. The other thing I like right at the top is their donate button, and if you've listened to a previous episode of mine that talks about one website conversion that makes a big difference is their donation button does not say donate, it says feed the hungry. So I love when you can customize a button to have something that's more impactful than just the word donate, something that the person is taking action to do. So the button says feed the hungry. Then, right underneath their headline and sub header, they have a beautifully done video. It's seven minutes long. The thumbnail is awesome. It says donations only restaurant and it shows the founder right on the front and if you play it it is so beautiful. So they invested or got this donated. I'm not sure this is a high quality video and the storytelling is so profound and they did a beautiful job. Their goal was $10,000 and they reached it. On give butter, you'll see they raised $7,548 from 39 supporters and y'all. That's an average gift of $193. You divide that, their city council and their mayor donated the extra to get them to that 10,000 goal, but 7500 roughly was raised on the platform, so that's incredible. Then when you scroll down, there's an area called the story and they start with food insecurity is still a real problem. So they immediately talk about what's happened ever since COVID, what your donations will allow them to do, which is feeding that 4,500 people in their hometown in Alabama. And then they show you pictures. They show you pictures of the restaurant. They show you this photo of a handwritten note from somebody who says thank you for the blessing my family of four didn't go hungry today. They talk about who we are. It's a very clear and they share the impact with multiple videos, beautiful imagery. They talk about why their restaurant is donations only. They share press features. So it's adding credibility. If you would have just come to their site for the first time, they share, like a good morning America video on here, news from ABC. So again, I love this. It's very clear story. They shared the impact with FAQs and the other thing that's cool on the give better platform, they have something that's like a comment wall when when you make a donation, you can leave a comment and it'll show up on this like scrolling wall. You can add gifts and make it really fun and you can also share campaign updates. So anytime that somebody donated and left a message, somebody from Drexel and honey bees logged in and Commented back so you can comment back on anything on the wall and they would comment back with a fun gift that says thank you. One time they said on behalf of our founders Thank you for your donation. We greatly appreciate it. Because of you, will be able to feed so many more. So they go in and they make sure that every single person it's an immediate Thank you to their donation. Just that was awesome. So this is number one. So great job. Love the video. Loved how specific the impact was. Number two also really well done. This one is Prospector Theater and their goal was $7,000 for our seventh birthday. This was from 2021. Also love the tie 7,000, seventh birthday. Anytime you can play on stuff like that. It excites people to help you reach that goal and what they do is they employ people in their theater with disabilities. So one thing that they wrote and I love this they say through the operation of our movie theater, prospects are paired with jobs that highlight their strengths and passions, or, as we call it, sparkle. So fun. They have another really great video that they shared. It's shorter, it's about two minutes long, and they had an original goal of $7,000. And they actually surpassed that by 131% and they raised $9,215 from 46 supporters, which again is an average gift of $200. So if you're seeing here, the amounts received here are incredible. So when you're thinking about your dollar gifts, don't be afraid to add some of those higher price points. So I thought the video was really clever. I loved when you go to the story area, they share their successes since opening in 2014. They talk about we are needed, so what's currently happening now, and they have video. And then they have these another headline that says we use sparkle, and so they share how kind of their organization works and I just loved how, again, simple, impact, focused and they also had somebody going through the wall of comments making sure to say thank you to everyone who is donating on their page. So that's another great example. Hey, hey, are you in the process of planning your Giving Tuesday, your end campaigns, events? I bet you are, and you might be researching some tools to help you make it all happen. You have to check out GiveButter G-I-V-E-B-U-T-T-E-R, and I not only love that. This is a free, non-profit fundraising platform that empowers millions of change makers to raise more, pay less and give better. But y'all the team there is incredible. Anytime I've worked with a client using their platform, their customer service team is exceptional at responding immediately and doing everything in their power to make sure you succeed. The platform is so, so easy to use. They provide everything you need, from peer-to-peer fundraising, auctions and events software, a built-in CRM, email and SMS messaging, embeddable donate buttons and donate forms on your website and so much more. And did I mention it's free? So click the link in the show notes to create a free account today and get started. The third one this was very cool. This is from Arts Life and the headline is Fill the World with Arts for Life, a digital community mural and Giving Tuesday campaign. So what they are doing is. Their goal as an organization is to bring meaningful arts engagement programs to thousands of young patients and families and hospitals across North Carolina. So for Giving Tuesday, they had this really creative idea to partner with an artist that does digital murals and essentially you can go to this site that they had created you. Essentially they had this question of what would you fill the world with and to draw it, and this artist would compile everybody who submitted artwork into a mural, a digital mural piece, and so A that was just very cool. So you would just take a digital marker right and draw your design and give a donation, and they shared down below in their story. They talk about their, why they talk about what they're doing. For Giving Tuesday, their goal was to raise $10,000. And then they showcased the finished mural. Now, of course, now that it's done, but they showed progress throughout of the artists that they had worked with. So I think, gave her time for free of her drawing and integrating everyone's different artwork that was submitted. So very cool. So straight to the point again, really fun imagery. And they had let me go back up they had a $10,000 goal and they raised $8,520 from 46 supporters. Again, $185 gift average. So so far, between these three campaigns for Giving Tuesday, $185 average, up to $200 average per gift, which is incredible. Let me see if there's anything else. I love the campaign updates on this one. They would say see the final mural, it's completed, and they shared an image with thank yous and they pinned that to the top. Let me see. They went through. They did a lot of thank yous. This one had a lot of really great comments. They would showcase children doing the artwork. Yeah, just really clever. They would. Some people made you can draw an image instead of putting a gift and some people did that as an art. So, yeah, really cool, I love this one. So, again, click the link in the show notes to access Fill the World with Arts for Life to check this one out. And then, lastly, okay, this one is the monthly giving program. So this one is Recommit to Community in 2023 with cycles of change seeking monthly sustainers to grow bike access for East Oakland and beyond. So their goal that they had was to bring in more recurring donations by organizing this sustaining member drive and they wanted to increase. I think they wanted to gain 50 people by the end of the campaign and they were celebrating with a bike club community ride in January of this year. So they talk about the power of consistent and reliable monthly donations. Allow us to support 10,000 East Bay residents every year. That's incredible. And they're saying this year, with your support, we are focusing on expanding high school internships at the bikery, growing the reach of our bike clubs and upcycle programs and investing in employment and leadership development for local use. So you know exactly which programs they're fundraising towards. And what was really cool is they had multiple videos that were amazing. Some of them were from news outlets, some were just individual some pretty cool swag incentives and they had ticket sales to their community ride. So they had the option with their button you could donate and buy tickets to their event. So I thought that was cool. Their community bike ride. It was like a 4.5 mile ride to a picnic area. Then they went it says that you can enjoy sun, sand and yummy burritos before riding back and their monthly giving levels were very creative, very on brand. They had a cruiser, freewheeler, power pedal and more, which I thought was very clever. And they were sharing even more into their impact numbers with how many bikes they had sold and repaired, individual and family served out of the bikery. They talked about how many work hours were provided to youth employees and how many students they had taught bike safety and leadership development. So I loved this. They raised $13,207 from 79 supporters another incredible average gift of 167. And they were looking for monthly sustainers, which they did reach their campaign goal, which was incredible. So let me see if I can read into here they did, they surpassed it actually, and let me see, yeah, and then they just talked about their ride. So that's pretty incredible. So they reached that goal and, oh, this was fun. Their language says because of your support, cycles of change will continue to pedal through 2023, ensuring that our community doesn't get left behind with a flat tire. I mean guys, the creativity and the branding and the language here is amazing. So, again, I love their video. I love the ride and multiple videos. Actually, they had a very cool sustainer circle levels that they talk about. So if you're somebody who's interested in monthly giving for Giving Tuesday, I would look at kind of what they. But they gave us some swag elements. They had the bike event tickets included in the monthly donation and they were really fun and their feed in responses. They have some pretty hilarious bike gifts that are worth a venture. There's one with this little girl who she's probably like four and it shows her parallel parking her bike. It's hilarious, anyways. So, yes, that is the fourth one and again, I think the theme for all four of these was they had fun. They all focus on having very clear headlines, sub headlines, talking about the impact that this event was specifically for. I love the angle of the monthly giving. They all had videos instead of photos in the main header area. They all said thank you to supporters and I think each of them let's see the bike one had 79. The arts program had 46. Oh, that's actually crazy. The theater also had 46 supporters and the restaurant had 39. And right, these campaigns ranged from 7500 to 13,000. I think we look at a dollar times these $100,000 plus wins. These campaigns, all of them, let me just see, I think, other than arts for life was very, very close. They were 85% to their goal. Everybody else reached their goal. So make it something sustainable and I think actually, one of the organizations expanded their goal because they reached it so early. So think about a goal that is tied to something. Why are you asking for X amount of funds and lean into that? So, again, I would love to, and we'll go through some of these examples, probably during the webinar, that are focused on monthly giving. So the webinar is on September 13th. Don't miss out. Five ways to supercharge end-year fundraising with monthly giving. You're going to work so hard for these gifts, why not have them be monthly and add to the sustainability of your organization? And then, don't forget to sign up. There's a link again in the show notes to sign up for a free GiveButter account and make sure to register for their Gives Back to qualify to win, hopefully, part of that 35K. Again, it's 1K and 5K awards that they'll be giving out so you can submit your campaign. I hope this was helpful and I will see you guys in the next episode.
