Show Notes

Navigating the health care system can be challenging for just about anyone. When your primary care physician provides a diagnosis that is going to require treatment, it can be stressful and frightening as to what has to happen next. That's where an independent patient advocate may come into play. So what does it take to be or find a patient advocate? That's what we tackle in this episode of Senior Living CT.

Introducing our guest Ria Pattison, a Licensed Practical Nurse, Mompreneur, and owner of CT HealthAdvocate. Ria Pattison’s company specializes in providing information and guidance to those caring for the elderly. After finishing nursing school, Ria started working at a nursing home as a floor nurse. Following this, she worked as a care coordinator for individuals with developmental disabilities, as well as an admissions director for skilled nursing facilities and continues to work as a nurse case manager in a rural community.

Each experience over the years has given Ria valuable insight into the needs of seniors, and their families, and how to best serve everyone trying to navigate this stressful and complicated process. Please visit Ria's website at www.cthealthadvocate.com for more information and how to contact her.
