Money and Mental Health - Money Management is Self-Care

with Guest Casey Blum

Face the Beast of Financial Unknowns to Reduce Stress

This week, we talk with licensed therapist, Casey Blum. In this episode we discuss mental health, finance, self-care, and the programming we all receive as children in regards to money. We ask the question, “Are these childhood interpretations of money that we carry truly serving us?” Casey shares her tactics, and offers words of encouragement to those struggling. You’ll learn things like:

·    why Casey sees stress management as important, in relation to our money, and our long-term wellbeing

·    how to break down the financial baggage we bring to relationships

·    how the simple act of talking can lighten the load of financial stress

·    why Casey believes our views on money can be changed

·    how Casey suggests we rethink our mindset on therapy

·    what it means to “Face the Beast”

Casey's bio:

Casey is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She works with people who struggle with addiction, loneliness, and isolation, self-confidence, codependency, behavioral impulsivity, depression, anxiety, relational issues, and a variety of other concerns that get in the way of living according to one’s true potential.

In her free time, Casey participates in a regular yoga practice and is a certified yoga instructor. She believes that though the stress of living can never truly be uncoupled with the human experience, we can learn to take this challenge on directly, to experience a more fulfilling life.
