Definition:
Truth is knowledge, which is the reflection of what things are, which can be positive or negative, good or bad, right or wrong. Truth is not judgmental but factual.

Scripture:
John 14:6  KJV -
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:no man cometh
unto the Father, but by me.

1 Timothy 6:3-5 (ESV) If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.

Thought:

"A group of blind men heard that a strange animal, called an elephant, had been brought to the town, but none of them were aware of its shape and form. Out of curiosity, they said: "We must inspect and know it by touch, of which we are capable". So, they sought it out, and when they found it they groped about it. The first person, whose hand landed on the trunk, said, "This being is like a thick snake". For another one whose hand reached its ear, it seemed like a kind of fan. As for another person, whose hand was upon its leg, said, the elephant is a pillar like a tree-trunk. The blind man who placed his hand upon its side said the elephant, "is a wall". Another who felt its tail, described it as a rope. The last felt its tusk, stating the elephant is that which is hard, smooth and like a spear."*

From their limited perspective, they were all telling the truth, based on their limited access to the animal.

We are often caught up into our revelation of the truth in much the same way as the blind men in the parable.  In this case, truth becomes subjective. The men felt a part of the whole and they gave their analysis based on their perception of that part and that part only.  Their perspective became their truth.  Just as our perspective becomes our truth. What we see becomes our reality.  But is what we have seen, the truth?

Without God to reveal the whole of the matter, we are all lost to the interpretation of the small portion of information to which we may have access. These skewed truths can lead to misunderstandings, strife, contention and distrust. That seems to be the state of the family, the state, the nation and the world. We are in a terrible state of bondage.

That is why when we are dealing with situations that require Truth, it is imperative that we ask that God reveal the hidden parts so that we can reason together.  The veil needs to lifted from our eyes, hearts, and minds so that we can see more clearly.  Even then, we may still be limited by our height, lack of knowledge or limited experience to get to the full truth of the matter.

So as we continue to search for the truth, I suggest that we refrain from contentions and arguments to "prove our point" and allow, God, the author of Truth to intervene.  The Truth will be the truth and needs no defense. Besides, after going to battle you may discover that what you thought was a wall was actually the side of an elephant.  Wouldn't it be terrible to find out after making a fool of yourself that you had been defensive in error., and only needed to see more of the truth to be right.

When you know God, you know the truth, and the Truth will make you free.
