Word of the Week:TRANSFORMATION

TRANSITION SERIES — TESTIMONY

As my journey changed from childhood to adulthood, I realized that my transition in life was causing a transformation in who I was, what I thought, and how I responded to the world around me. I began to understand my personal limitations. As I grew in knowledge, I learned to trust my decisions. And as I matured, I chose to work on becoming a better person in my home, my job, and my community. As I transitioned, I was being transformed.
My exposure to the Word of God prompted me to intentionally choose how I wanted to be transformed. I chose to reflect the image of God. That transformation requires the continual renewing of the mind as stated in the Epistle to the Romans 12:2.
Sometime during our 20s, we begin to realize that life is requiring more of us individually. We find ourselves thrust into adulthood. Thinking we are prepared, the realization of how unprepared we really are strikes at the core of our being. There are moments when the weight of responsibility can feel overwhelming.
Our parents begin releasing the reins of authority over our decisions. We have to sign contracts for goods and services that we are expected to maintain if we want to keep benefits that were previously managed by our parents. We are expected to complete our chosen course of study, and maybe even pay for the right to continue. We are seeking not only temporary or part-time work, but because of our obligations, we may now need full-time employment. Our parents may require us to consider “moving on,” “moving out,” or “paying our way” while occupying the room we have lived in rent free since birth.
We deal with this transition in a variety of ways:We may embrace the transition and seek guidance that helps us adjust to our new reality. We take responsibility for ourselves and seek wisdom to improve the decisions we are now making as adults. This allows transformation to evolve naturally into maturity.
We may portray confidence and behave as though we have it all together, only to be exposed when we cannot produce what we profess to have under control. This deception blocks transformation.
We may find people willing to sympathize with our dilemma and tell us what to do without regard for who we are or what we truly need. We follow their advice because it is easier than being accountable for our own decisions. This delays transformation.
We may refuse to transition and stubbornly reject our new reality by fighting to stay where we are while forcing others to continue carrying responsibilities that now belong to us. This causes disruption and prevents transformation.
Transition is a change in your circumstances, but how you transform in the midst of change is dictated by your character. Your character is shaped by your relationship with God.Do you trust God to guide you?Do you believe God is your provider and sustainer?Do you believe God will keep your mind in perfect peace when your mind is stayed on Him?Do you believe you have the strength to endure every test?Do you believe that through your relationship with God, you are more than a conqueror?
Transition will come whether we are ready or not__But transformation is a choice
You decide whether transition becomes a burden or a blessing. You decide whether change becomes chaos or character.
Transformation becomes inevitable when youTrust God, Renew your Mind, and Walk in Faith!
