FAITHFULNESS

Hello Family: Over the past several weeks we've explored what it means to hear God's voice, recognize His calling, and respond to the assignment with obedience. Today we arrive at the destination of that journey—faithfulness.
This is the final installment in our “Calling Series”.  You have been encouraged throughout this series to listen for the voice of God.  Sometimes, it is a “still small voice” and other times the call comes as a thunderous sound or a lightning bolt revelation.  No matter what God does to get your attention God calls for each of us to respond.
Our response can be one of obedience, hesitation, or even resistance. Our choices shape both our relationship with Him and the direction of our lives.  We may be created in God's image, but we are not God. How you answer can impact not only your relationship with God, but how your life will proceed.
God exhibits His faithfulness towards His children in limitless ways.  The Word of God establishes His divine covenant of faithfulness towards humanity.  The life of Jesus Christ proves that human beings can choose to live a life of faithfulness and love.  The spread of the gospel that continues to this day is an astounding fulfillment of God’s promise that He would pour out His Spirit on all flesh.
God has promised to give His love, guidance, protection, defense, healing and peace to all who are faithful to Him.  He promised this first to His “chosen people”.   Then God sent his Son, Jesus, to shed his blood as the divine sacrifice that would extend and give access to His promise to all the inhabitants of the earth. This is the absolute fulfillment of God’s faithfulness.
Although God’s benefits are freely given to all who believe, in return for God’s faithfulness, God asks for your faithfulness.  This Divine Covenantal relationship is God's invitation to reciprocal faithfulness.
Is it so difficult to consider giving God your faithfulness in exchange for His?
Truthfully, we make exchanges every day:·        We give money in exchange for goods.·        We give up sleep in exchange for a good time.·        We compromise our morals in exchange for acceptance.
Yet, when it comes to exchanging our faithfulness for God’s loving-kindness, we often hesitate.
How often do we consider:·        Whether being invited into the “inner circle” matters more than being known as a person of faith and integrity.·   Whether chasing power, fame, and wealth has more value than pursuing peace, real love, and true happiness.·        Whether the time spent hunting for the best deal on the most stylish item is more productive than time spent in prayer, Bible study, and the “religious stuff” that brings comfort, connection, and satisfaction.
These are human choices with divine or self-satisfying outcomes.  We make these choices every hour of every day.
The more we ignore God’s calling and His faithfulness, the more we limit our access to the blessings God has promised to those who listen, answer, obey, and remain faithful…Not just for a moment, but for a lifetime.
But Jesus is tenderly calling today….
You want more blessings?  Show God more faithfulness
