Word of the Week:
SUSTENANCE

My Dear Family,

We have now concluded our exploration of Calling. And while there are certainly deeper layers we could continue to consider, we have begun building a solid foundation for understanding what it means to live as a true child of God.

We began this journey by examining what happens when a person first begins walking with God—a process we called “Transformation”. From there, we moved into what to do when that divine connection awakens the “Calling” of God — a call that may come to you as a still small voice or a powerful wind.

As we continue developing this discussion, I ask you to reflect on our God of the Covenant—Yahweh. Yahweh, the one true and living God first introduced to Moses, changes names, renews hearts, and reshapes identity. Yahweh provides, restores, and defines our purpose. Consequently, Yahweh’s children are being taught that while fulfilling your calling, you will be the recipient of God’s Sustenance.
Sustenance is everything God provides to sustain you as you fulfill the purpose for which God has called you.

During the next few weeks, we will discuss how the grace of Yahweh provides everything you need to fulfill the responsibilities and duties of “Your Call”.  Yahweh’s grace--God’s unearned favor-- is extended to us when we feel the most inadequate.Do you remember our anchor scripture in the Calling Series? Romans 8:30 begins, “And those God predestined, God also called.” God is omniscient—that means all knowing. Yahweh knows what was, what is, and what is to come.

God knew in advance that you would be called to His service. He created you and is preparing you with the experience, skills, knowledge, and attitude necessary for the assignment to which you have been called.

For example, when I answered my call to write the “Word of the Week”, I had no idea that I would be producing it for an ever-growing audience uniquely designed by God. Now that I am fully engaged in its production, I can clearly see how my experience as a Human Resources professional, a mother, and a participant in high level meetings where I was the least among the best, prepared me not only to perform this work, but to experience God’s grace. It is the many experiences, successes, and failures that I reflect on every time I sit down to prepare the next “Word”. This ministry has blessed my life in ways I hope to continue sharing with you.

During this series, we will discuss how Yahweh sustains you by:• Supplying FOOD and NOURISHMENT for your body, mind, and soul• Making available the PROVISIONS required to complete your assignment.• Giving ENCOURAGEMENT that renews and strengthens your heart and mind.• Defining your INTENTIONALITY, showing you the purpose behind every step.

I pray my experience will encourage you to answer Your call.  And I look forward to hearing from you as you develop in the fulfillment of YOUR CALL. Your consistency in reading and listening to the Word of the Week is not by mistake or by chance.  You are a part of a divine relationship set up by Yahweh. This has been the most revelatory experience of my life. I assure you, your involvement in the “Word of the Week” is not an experiment--It is meant to be a transformative experience.  And I promise that if you continue to follow the path, you will find fulfillment and joy.

Welcome to the next Series in your life’s journey… ”The SUSTENANCE of God’s Grace”.

Suggestion: You may want to begin journaling so that you have a record of where you are now and where God is taking you. Pray for wisdom in managing your sustenance in a way that honors and pleases God.
