Word of the Week:
PROVISION

Hello My Dear Family,

Matthew 6:26“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more valuable than they are?”
From the beginning of creation, the evidence of our Father as Provider has been unmistakable. Before the first humans betrayed God and bit from the forbidden fruit, every need was met by their Creator. Their conditions were so favorable that they required no shelter from the elements and no camouflage from predators. Yet even after their disobedience, The One Who Provides continued to provide. His sustaining care did not end when perfection was lost.
We see this again in the Book of Exodus. At God’s command, two to three million Israelites fled their Egyptian masters. Each dawn, manna appeared—nutritious, sufficient, and dependable. There was no need to cook, prepare, or store their food. When they complained about the lack of variety, The Provider sent quail into a barren desert where food was scarce. But when they chose to worship a god they could touch, crafting a golden idol, their disobedience resulted in forty years of wandering. Even so, The One Who Provides kept providing. Their clothes did not wear out. Their shoes did not rot. Their daily sustenance never failed. The Promised Land was withheld from the disobedient generation, but provision was never withdrawn.
Like the Israelites, we in America live in a land of abundant blessings. Even in the most deplorable circumstances, the average citizen has access to conveniences—indoor plumbing, food resources, and opportunities that many around the world would consider luxuries. Paul proclaims in 2 Corinthians 9:8 that God is able to bless us abundantly so that we may abound in every good work. And in this nation, opportunities to abound are everywhere.
Even poverty does not fully restrict access to provision. Most citizens possess a cellphone—one tool that offers daily access to information, education, and resources that could serve humanity in countless ways. Yet instead of using what has been provided to abound in good works, many complain about its complexity, use it to criticize neighbors, or employ it to perpetuate a life of sin. Still, The One Who Provides continues to provide.
The travesty is that, like the Israelites, most Americans have been recipients of a lifetime of provision—immeasurable and often unexpected blessings. We live in communities where churches entertain on Sunday but fail to be Spirit‑led enough to introduce a lost soul to The One Who Provides on Monday. Rarely do those who profess to know Him recognize the seeker as a potential disciple. Rarely do we offer an introduction to our Source of Provision.
Which causes me to ask:How secure are we in our relationship with The One Who Provides?Do we overstock our cupboards out of fear?Do we obsess over savings, investments, and insurance? How much time do we spend worrying about tomorrow? How valuable do we believe we are?How secure are we that The One Who Provides will provide for us?
It is time to face your faith.
Do YOU truly Trust THE ONE WHO PROVIDES?
Only YOU can answer.
