In 1962, the C.I.A. and the Joint Chefs of Staff proposed a plan to gain public and military support for a war with Cuba . This was through Operation Northwoods in which they wanted to commit acts of terrorism towards American citizens and lay the blame at Fidel Castro’s door step. This is mirroring what has been occurring in Cuba and in Venezuela presently . What specific acts were they wanting to carry out during 1962? Where did President Kennedy stand on this matter ?
