Hell o, friends. Welcome to another episode of Cuppa Terrific. I'm your host, Sheree, and today we have a new episode where you get to meet a new co-host. It's another one of my kids.

Hi, my name's Bruce.

Yeah, so Bruce has a cool dream he'd like to share with us today. And is it a dream or is it a nightmare? A bit of an in-between. A bit of an in-between. Okay. Well, we'll be getting into that today. But as usual, folks, before we get into the dream and those elements, I'd like to just ask Mr. Bruce, what are you drinking today, kid?

Um, me and my mom, we got me some hot cocoa prepared. Yummy.

You're drinking hot cocoa, huh? Is it a uh hot cocoa from the downstairs that we made with the electric kettle?

It sure is, and it boy, it is delicious. It's good.

The Spooky Campfire Setup

What are you drinking?

Sheree 1:40

I am just gonna be drinking water for now because I need to stay hydrated. It is very cold outside, and I have been going to your games, and being outside in the weather is making me feel very um under the weather, as it were. So I need to stay hydrated so that I don't get sick. Yeah. And just in general, it's a good idea to stay hydrated, right? So drink water. But cheers, let's cheers that feels good.

Alright, Bruce. So tell me about this dream that you had the other day when you stayed the night over at our family's house. Do you wanna just start by thinking about how you want to tell a story, or do you want me to ask questions as we go, or how would you like to go?

Um it all started when we were at a campsite. Okay. I we we tell stories. Okay. All around the fire. Yeah. We get up. We

Our family. Just family members.

So we're camping outside.

Okay, in the dark. Alright.

Yeah, it's a bit spooky.

Leader Birds Form The Dome

Sheree 3:13

A little bit spooky, okay. Got the vibe. We're telling some scary stories. Got it, got it.

Bruce 3:20

Um, and I pass out on the walk to the campsite.

Sheree 3:30

Okay, you mean back to the tent?

Bruce 3:31

Yeah.

Sheree 3:32

Okay.

And then my dad comes over.

Sheree 3:35

What happens next is he starts placing buckets of bug spray and animal repellent just all around me to keep me safe.

Um, they go. You guys go to bed.

Okay. Everybody else is going to bed.

I'm sleeping there.

You're just gonna sleep outside.

Bruce 4:04

I wake up. Okay. And I see bum bum bum. So many like three birds flying in the sky. Okay. You wanna know what they are?

Sheree 4:22

Yeah, what kind of birds?

Bruce 4:24

A hawk.

Sheree 4:25

Okay.

Crow.

Okay.

What was the third one? Robin.

Sheree 4:31

Okay.

Wait, no. It was all three big birds. Hawk, a crow.

Didn't you say it was a vulture?

Bruce 4:40

Yes, vulture. And they land all around me.

What happened next was when I get up to look around, they start walking towards me. And more birds start fluttering in. Of the same species. And they all looked like leaders.

There's four like two on one side and then there was one on the other. It looked like one was missing. And I noticed there's a gateway of birds. And there was a and a crow walked in that was missing an eye.

Oh.

And now there's four of them.

Okay. Oh, I see. But you said that they they surrounded you?

Bruce 5:37

Yeah. They pointed to me.

Sheree 5:40

Okay.

And they started stomping and shaking all their feathers away.

Oh, okay, yeah.

And the they all got all the um the

birds.

The leader birds.

Yeah.

Made a square around me.

Okay, yes. They're like four points around you.

Yes.

Gotcha.

And then and then they all look up and just and they go, Ka! Uh-huh. And then suddenly all the birds start rushing in. And they start grabbing each other and making a dome around me.

Sheree 6:24

Okay. All the birds, like all the birds together.

Bruce 6:27

All the birds together.

Sheree 6:28

So they all start mixing together to create this giant dome around you.

Bruce 6:32

Yes. Um, it was kind of scary, honestly.

The Ancient Crow And The Golden Egg

Sheree 6:36

Wow. So you felt scared?

Bruce 6:41

Yes.

Sheree 6:41

Okay.

Bruce 6:42

I did. And then

Sheree 6:43

So were these the four birds that were around you, were they um inside?

Bruce 6:50

They're out now.

Sheree 6:50

They're outside, and all the the other birds formed like a cone around you.

Bruce 6:57

Yeah.

Okay.

But it's oh it's not triangular, it's like a dome.

Sheree 7:01

So is it like you're inside of a soda can kind of shape?

Bruce 7:06

No. Think of a ball, split it in half, in that in that

A ball? Cut it... Oh, a dome. There's a half half sphere.

Bruce 7:17

Mm-hmm.

Sheree 7:18

Got it. So you're inside of a dome.

Bruce 7:21

And I start looking around looking for ways to get out.

Okay.

And then they make a gateway. I start reaching for it.

Mm-hmm.

And then the crow walks in and I step back.

What crow?

Bruce 7:41

The leader crow.

Oh, was this the one that was missing the eye or just a crow?

It has white eyes.

Oh. So it has eyes, but it can't see.

Blurly vision.

It has blurry vision?

Yes.

So is maybe he's an old crow, do you think?

Probably he's a grandfather crow.

Sheree 8:02

So he's like a really old crow. Okay. So he's got really hazy, like cloudy looking eyes.

Bruce 8:08

Yeah.

So he has these eyes, but they're like cloudy.

Bruce 8:12

They look like just white spheres.

Sheree 8:16

Gotcha. Okay. So they're kind of spooky looking, huh?

Bruce 8:20

Yeah.

Okay. So he walks in.

Bruce 8:23

And

Does he walk or does he hop?

Bruce 8:27

No, like he is trotting. Like he is.

Sheree 8:30

He's trotting.

He is walking towards me.

Okay. Oh, that's interesting. So he kind of almost seems like humanoid-ish.

Bruce 8:39

Yeah.

Okay.

And he turns down and he squats.

Sheree 8:44

And he shows me three other feathers along his back.

Sheree 8:49

Oh, okay.

Of the it was uh a hawk, a crow, it was basically all the other three leaders. There he had three feathers on his back to assembly.

So he had all the other leaders as part of him. Okay.

Bruce 9:11

And what happened next?

Sheree 9:13

Yeah.

Bruce 9:13

Yeah, that is cool. And he turns around, he squats over. And he lays an egg.

Sheree 9:25

Okay.

Bruce 9:27

Um he turns around, he picks it up, he hands it to me, I pick it up, and I go. And I like shrug at him.

Sheree 9:39

And you shrug at him.

Bruce 9:40

I shrug at him. And he and he says, and he just squints his eyes and just points to the water.

Sheree 9:47

So he lets you out of the dome?

Bruce 9:51

No, he points to a puddle of water.

Sheree 9:53

Oh, so this puddle of water is inside of the dome?

Bruce 9:56

Yes.

Sheree 9:57

Okay.

Bruce 9:58

Um he says he starts doing signal motions as if he wants. Yeah, as if he was rolling something in the water. So I go over, I place the egg in the water, and I start rolling it around.

Sheree 10:12

Mm-hmm.

Bruce 10:13

And not long after the egg starts turning gold. And

whoa, that's cool.

Bruce 10:21

He reaches over to me and does a sign of like, gimme.

Wishes Granted And The Escape

Sheree 10:27

Oh, so his wings his wings kind of like the tips of his wings, like the long feathers kind of like are like fingers, and it goes, give me, like flapping towards himself.

Bruce 10:37

Yeah.

Sheree 10:37

Okay.

Bruce 10:38

And then he clapped.

Sheree 10:42

Okay.

Bruce 10:43

And I hand him the egg. And he sets it down, touches it. He closes his eyes and it explodes.

Sheree 10:58

Okay.

Bruce 10:58

It explodes into just millions of things. And he and then he speaks.

Sheree 11:06

The the crow speaks?

Bruce 11:08

Yeah, it's like in a bunch of confetti and stuff, and then he speaks. Thank you. He says, thank you. Um. He has a deep voice. It's like, thank you. Thank you. Um, and he said, when you get these eggs and you roll them in just any water, they turn gold. And when you touch them and think of what you want, it happens. Or you get it. Um, and he sits down, falls asleep, and he says, home. I scoop him up. He does like a gorilla chest bang. And a thing, a doorway opens up.

Uh-huh. And in the big dome of birds.

Bruce 12:08

Yes, and I walk out.

Sheree 12:12

Okay.

Bruce 12:12

I go to sleep in the tent.

Sheree 12:16

Uh-huh.

Bruce 12:18

And then when I wake up, he's already awake and he says, hide me.

Sheree 12:23

Who says hide me?

Bruce 12:24

The bird.

Sheree 12:25

The bird is still there. He's in your tent?

Bruce 12:28

Yeah. He says, hide me.

Sheree 12:30

He followed you to the tent?

Bruce 12:31

No, he was with me.

Sheree 12:32

Oh, he followed you.

Bruce 12:34

I picked him up. He told me to pick him up and bring him home.

The crow.

So you Oh, he asked you to take him whenever he banged on his chest?

Bringing The Crow Home

Bruce 12:44

Mm-hmm.

Sheree 12:45

Oh, okay. I was making sure I understood what was happening. Okay. So you took him to your tent. You guys went to sleep together, and then when you woke up, he said, hide me. Hide you.

Bruce 12:57

Okay. And I scoop him up and I'll place him in my shirt on my back.

Sheree 13:02

Huh.

Bruce 13:03

Okay. I start walking. We set up everything in our car where we can take it home. So we do that, we take it home. And we get everything in the loft where our stuff goes. I run up to my up the stairs into my room, shut the door, lock it.

Sheree 13:31

Okay.

Bruce 13:32

And then I pull him out and he said, Thank you. Um funny bird. And then he says, Thank you for getting me out of those woods. And then I see a bunch of birds flying over our house.

Sheree 13:55

Okay.

Bruce 13:56

And then I see three of them dive in. And he says, Quick, open the window. I open the window and the screen.

Sheree 14:05

Uh-huh.

Bruce 14:05

And three birds fly in and stop on my bed.

Sheree 14:08

Okay.

Um, I shut and close the window and screen.

Sheree 14:12

Okay.

Bruce 14:13

And it's the three leader it's the other three leader birds.

Sheree 14:17

And

They came back.

They did.

They had to find their friend, I guess.

Bruce 14:25

Mm-hmm.

Sheree 14:26

Okay.

Bruce 14:27

And he said, Did you bring a cup of water? And and then he squats down, lays another egg.

Sheree 14:36

Okay.

Bruce 14:37

And I take it, I pffit it, I get it gold, I place it down, I tap it.

Uh-huh.

Bruce 14:46

I didn't let the crow have it. I tapped it.

Sheree 14:49

Yeah, okay. And

Bruce 14:52

I thought of a an animal pen in our garden.

Sheree 14:57

Okay.

Golden Eggs, Wealth, And A Pen

Bruce 14:59

And and all I hear is like bang, bang, bang. Mmm, hmm. Like a drill and hammers just bang. Um, and I look through a window and I just see a couple of men doing their thing at at it and making our garden. Well, not our garden, but of course our animal pen. Um and when they're done, they just poof into air, just nothing.

Sheree 15:32

Oh wow.

Bruce 15:33

And then I say, hey, I'm gonna need another. I hold on a second though. And I get you, I bring you outside, and I show you the animal pen. And you're like, what how? How did it like your mind is blown?

Sheree 15:54

Yeah.

Bruce 15:55

Mm-hmm.

Sheree 15:55

Cool.

Bruce 15:57

Mm-hmm. I run upstairs as you are distracted with the animal pen.

Sheree 16:03

Uh-huh.

Bruce 16:05

And I get another egg.

Sheree 16:07

Yeah.

Bruce 16:08

This time I get away and give it to him. And then he says, Thanks. He taps it. He thinks just explodes into another confetti thing. Um, and all his friends can talk. And they say, Why'd you gotta leave us? And he says, Sorry, this is this is the chosen kid. I don't know if he's chosen or not. I just know he worked. He gets our he gets our eggs golden, and the other birds look at him and just shrug, and they all huddle and talk. I have no idea what they said. And then they s all raise up their hands, touching each other, and they start spinning around in a circle and going, Oh start singing just like that, and then I go, What are you guys doing? And then out of just thin air, more golden eggs, just like three golden eggs. I touch one and I think of good wealth towards our family. I touch the second one. I wish for more good luck in our future, and I don't think of any I couldn't think of anything for the third one. And he says, What you gonna do? And I said, I don't know. And then I look up and I'm like, Oh maybe I do, and I walk outside and in the corner, I place I place it in the corner of the pen. Chicks chickens, yeah. Four months later, it's like a f it's like full-grown big bulky chicken.

So you're growing chickens in the yard.

But it has so much fluff on it, so I give it a bit, just a bit of a trim,

so it won't be dying of heat.

And then what happens?

It's a surprise.

He was a golden chicken.

Oh my goodness, no way.

And he starts plopping down multiple eggs that just hatch instantly into baby golden chicks.

The Golden Chicken And Chicks

Um, I have baby chickens now that are gold. I show you one, and you're like, You just faint. Um I place him down, he starts going peep peep peep and running back to his mom.

Oh. So what you're telling me is you had a dream where you You're able to make wishes come true.

Bruce 19:19

And yeah. I grow up you and me just grow up with golden chicks, chickens and chicks. Sounds like a wonderful story, Bruce. I I think the same thing, Mom.

So the next element says uh uh bird is a favor it is favorable to dream of birds with beautiful plumage. Flying birds signify prosperity for the dreamer. All agreeable environments will vanish before the wave of prospective goods. To catch a bird also indicates good fortune. So you did catch the bird.
