Yes, this episode is a little long, but we hope it will help you better understand and get a picture of what Step Seven Ministries has begun in the western district of Bundbugyo in Uganda, Africa.
Since early 2023, when discussions began between Ron Gladden and Pastor Tom about how Step Seven can help Ourganda with the domestic violence problem, to the latest mission with PT, Shane and Mike, listen in on how Jesus is carrying the mission forward in powerful ways in Africa!
This is just the beginning of a new movement of sobriety and recovery with healing as Jesus, through Step Seven and two very special local leaders, Justine and Robert, reaches into some of the hundreds of remote jungle villages.

Step 6 is a pivotal step in a person's growth and recovery. It's here where Jesus isn't just another higher power, but Lord and Savior.
Step 6:
We came to accept him as our Lord and Savior.
"You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” - John 8:32
Step 5 is where the deeper discipleship goes. This happens over time. In fact, the rest of the man's life!
Step 5:
We sought through prayer, study and our small group his healing gospel truth.
"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. " - Matthew 6:33
With Step 4, the man in recovery starts to get more serious about his discipleship journey.
Step 4:
We prayerfully asked him to take away the desire to continue in this activity that separates us from him.
"Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." - Philippians 4:6
In this special episode, the story and rescue of Shannon, a young lady I have known for a few months now, you will hear how God moved on not one but 2 generations to find recovery and destiny from a life of addiction and hopelessness.
The theme for this special episode is Zephaniah 3:20 - At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home.
In this episode, we move on next to the solution to the problem presented in steps 1 and 2 - our sin.
Step 3: We CONSIDERED accepting Jesus as our Higher Power
“That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” –Romans 10:9
In this conversation about step 2, we talk about the importance of the word "consider" among other things.
Here is the step:
We CONSIDERED the fact that it might be the sin in our lives that caused this lack of freedom.
"I tell you the truth. Everyone who sins is a slave to sin." –John 8:34
In the first of our episodes on the steps, we talk about the power of perspective when it comes to recognizing our place. Only then can we make a move away from the prison we built.
Step 1: We recognized that our lives had become a prison.
"For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him." - 2 Peter 2:19
This is a special episode. I sat with none other than Pastor Tom himself. Both for him to share his story and the origins of Step Seven Ministries. They are very much intertwined, as you will hear.
Enjoy this conversation and testimony to God's grace through the life of Tom Roth, founder of Step Seven Ministries.
Here is another update on a brother who has fully submitted himself to God's will and movement in his life. We talked much about that and how Shane fully gave up his business to God and then watched as God allowed him to shift into another form of ministry.
Brett's story definitely includes his bride, who not only gave him more chances but believed in him. While we don't include her side of the story (yet), you will hear how Brett's journey of transformation to recovery has helped him, his family, and others.
