EXP Free Roadmap. You've seen how the traditional path to becoming an independent adjuster often sets people up for frustration and failure, and I realize this isn't just about the process, it's also about our mindset. What if success wasn't about waiting for a catastrophe, spending thousands up front and competing against a sea of other adjusters? What if the real key was thinking differently and rewriting the playbook entirely? That's when I began to see the solution not just as a method, but as a new way of approaching the industry. This new way of thinking is what I call the IA advantage, a way of thinking that puts control back in your hands. At the core, the IA Advantage is a simple idea Start with daily auto damage claims. This isn't just a smarter entry point, but the foundation of the eXp free roadmap for building a sustainable and flexible career. Let's walk through how this shift in thinking changes everything. Ia Advantage While the house advantage was built upon the advantages of big companies needing help with catastrophic claims, the IA advantage is based on handling daily auto claims. Here is how it completely flips the negatives of catastrophic adjusting on his head and puts you in the driver's seat. 1. You are competing only against those in your local area when handling local daily claims. Only people who live and work daily in the same area are competition. This means, instead of competing against tens of thousands for a spot on a catastrophe, you're competing with a handful or, at worst, dozens of IAs in your market. A dozen versus 10,000 are way better odds. In big markets with lots of IAs, like Dallas, you may be competing against 20 daily auto IAs, but that's it. This is the odds that we can deal with and do something about. 2. There are claims every day, while catastrophic claims require a catastrophe to produce work. Car wrecks, thefts and deer hits are happening every day in every market. You don't have to sit around waiting for work to come to you. You can pursue clients and companies knowing they have work in your market area. This eliminates much of the frustration of hurry up and wait. You suddenly are in the driver's seat.

3. It takes $6,000 or less to get started, while catastrophic property requires $10,000 to get to the point where you can make money. You can spend well under $6,000, possibly as little as $2,000, before making your first dollar and begin making money in a fraction of the time. There is little gear that daily auto IAs have to use Beyond your cell phone, vehicle and computer, which you likely already own. The only tools required are a tread depth gauge $5, and a specialty measuring tape $40. You don't need licenses, except in the states where you live and want to work, which saves you $2,000 right out of the gate on licenses that catastrophic companies recommend that you get.

4. You can start part-time. While catastrophic adjusting demands that you quit your job and be available to travel anywhere within 48 hours daily, auto claims allow you to handle claims part-time. This gives tremendous freedom to someone trying to transition from one career to another. You can work nights and weekends as an IA, especially during the long summer days. You can work multiple part-time jobs or side hustles as you build your IA business. 5. Your eggs are not all in one basket. When you work daily auto claims, you can work for as many companies as you want, unlike catastrophe, where you must commit all in to whoever calls you, the IA firms handling daily auto claims expect you to work for lots of companies. Each claim is important, but not under the same stress and do-or-die situation as a catastrophic deployment. If something negative happens, you'll usually get another chance, a request for changes or even if your relationship fails with that firm, you have others, you can still work for. Rarely if ever, does the carrier blacklist someone handling daily auto claims?
