Hello, hello, hello, John Mason. How is everybody? Well, tomorrow's the 4th of July, Independence Day. And like a lot of the rest of us, we have a functioning brain. I'm not feeling particularly festive. What with uh how do us four no six justices of the Supreme Court deciding the lives of of women? Like the six justices who struck down the Roe v. Wade after they after such ones as Kavanaugh and Gorsuch and Comey Barrett said that uh they've accepted Roe vs. Wade as settled precedent. Therefore untouchable. Well, we see how that their word went. And now the the Supreme Court has uh placed limits on the EPA to uh if how they can enforce the uh carbon emissions under the Clean Air Act. Which mean never mind the fact that the environment is getting worse and worse and worse and it might might be uh within a decade uh go past a breaking point. So but do they care? No. And have no doubt that the same-sex marriage is uh is is another target. And also the uh there's even this bill of one of the southern state legislatures that the courts will be looking at uh when it was goes back into session, that that the court that would uh on this very bizarre, based on a very bizarre interpretation of the Constitution, that that uh only state legislatures can, so many of them dominated by MAGA-ish Republicans, that only they can dictate uh uh legislative district boundaries, where they're state or federal. And the courts can't intervene and the public can't intervene, so these state legislatures dominated by reactionary Republicans will have either have the sole authority to decide who is going to be the represent the state in the Electoral College. See that was the plot by by the the Trump uh regime. The idea was that uh Mike Pence and validate the uh the uh uh this uh the actual regular uh electoral college vote, then it gets back to the states, and Republican-dominated legislatures choose their own uh uh slave electors, pro-Trump. And our democracies at state kids, to be quite honest, our founding fathers, the authors of the Declaration of Independence, and who were also active in drawing up the Constitution, were quite frankly, they were slave owners. There were slave owners, and they were very wealthy men, very affluent white males. And since uh there's nothing but white males in uh in the government at that time, the all legislation was focused around affluent white males. Slaves uh descended from from Africa were not in the mix, definitely not women, and definitely not low-income whites. It wasn't our government until we made it our government. Through some grassroots uh agitation and activism and organizing. And let's not forget, the war of independence was a bloodbath. People have had to go out into the field and get killed so that we could have be an independent nation. The world was watching us back in uh 1776, and it's watching us now, Americans. They're afraid that the American experiment will fail. They're afraid that America will not be a land of liberty. It will be just another autocratic regime, compatible to Russia and Hungary and Brazil and Turkey. We can't have that. We cannot have that. The real patriots are gonna be the ones who defend our our freedom, defend our democracy, defend our rights, defend the women's right to control her own reproductive system. Like defend the right to vote. Defend the right to marry who you choose and live the life you want so long as you're not bothering anybody else. That's what we're fighting for. We can't give up. Okay, after we get done celebrating the fourth, let's get busy and agitate and educate and organize and get ready to vote. That's right, let's let's hit the streets. Let's be willing to go out in the streets and get ready to rumble for our freedom. Our backs are up against the wall. Our enemies, the reactionaries, the racists, the plutocrats. They're counting on us to just pack it in, give up, and do nothing. Well, let's disappoint them. Let's show them that we're gonna defend our rights. Our our patriot, our forebearers in the 1700s have done the same thing. We can't let them down. Ever since the Revolutionary War, there have been thousands, millions of great freedom fighters. Approving the work of the founding fathers in 1776 and 1787. They made sure that all men, that the phrase in the Declaration of Independence, all men are created equal, that they are endowed by certain inalienable rights, etc. That they are, that they had, that people that were not in the that they didn't even think about were in the loop. Women, of course, and the descendants of the slaves and working people and other people of color. We can do it. Okay, advertisement time.
