Hello, hello, hello, John Mason. How is everybody? I'm like everybody else in Pennsylvania, having uh keen interest in the in the Senate elections and the uh and the gubernatorial elections and and having fun with uh John Fetterman, the Democratic candidate with strong uh whose roots are in Pennsylvania. He was he lived in Pennsylvania he lives in Pennsylvania. He was the mayor of uh uh uh Rust Belt City that he helped uh build back up. And his campaign against Dr. Mimit Oz, the celebrity charlatan quack who passes on uh uh uh fake uh dietary supplements and cures and remedies and nostrums that uh not only don't do anything to improve your health but make it worse. And uh the very fact that uh Donald Trump has endorsed him should tell you a few things. And we and we got uh Josh Shapiro, the Democrat candidate for governor, currently attorney general, and he's running for um uh a governor with a he's got a long track record uh uh serving the public up against state senator from Franklin County, Doug Mastriano, who is uh who took part in the uh rally on January 6th. I'm not too clear whether he put took part in the um as the insurrection went inside. I mean, but he kept saying that it was no big deal. He was part of the Stop the Steal uh uh campaign, and he and he talks about uh identifies himself as a Christian nationalist, which me which means that the United States of America can only be a government of by and for Christians, and everyone else, like me, a Jew, and Muslims and Buddhists and atheists and Hindus and others, we have no place. They might put up with us, but we're not we're not at all citizens in the Christian nationalist uh scheme of things. And as has been reminded to us by uh Rachel Meadow, the idea of Christian nationalism as a political movement had a start in the 30s, in the 1930s, uh during the rise of fascism in this country and all around the world, with the Reverend Gerald L.K. Smith, who was the most insidious anti-Semite of the pre- World War II era, and after World War II, he continued his Jew bashing, which went along with the Cold War. And all the and all those uh fascist haters, the white supremacists, the theocrats, they're crowd, I mean they've always been here. And racism has always been for has been since the Goldwater campaign uh one of the uh call uh a camp one of the campaign uh shall we say tactics of the Republican Party and the with uh subtle uh digs at uh urban crime and welfare queens letting the racial stereotypes uh speak for themselves in people's minds, but now the racism is up front and in your face. You're not even being subtle about it. And democracy, forget about democracy for these guys, they don't believe in it. They don't they want to make damn sure our votes get suppressed. The votes of working people, the votes of of minorities We We're their enemy and we have to be suppressed. And and that's and that's been the part of the tactic among uh the Republican right wing. Gerrymandering uh legislative districts so that uh they don't truly represent uh legislatures don't truly represent the uh uh the people of the state. And packing the co federal courts with partisan hacks will be there damn near forever. So and the idea is fading that that the Republicans that the Republicans are automatically going to retake the uh uh the House and the Senate. There's there's more shreds of hope that the Democrats will either hold or exp or expand the majorities. But no overcome no overconfidence, please. We have to uh work very hard to uh to get the vote out. Tell our neighbors, tell our friends, tell our co-workers, tell everybody, get out and vote. Let them know what the stakes are. Like you see that how they're trying to police the uh uh school districts, trying to uh uh terror terrorize uh uh school kids uh uh intellectually, like banning any mention of uh being gay or being transgender under under the heading of sexualized content, which is which is one of the um which is one of the dangers in the uh central Bucks County School District. In Bucks County in a Philadelphia sub affluent Philadelphia suburb. Even a major metropolitan area is the danger of censorship is coming. It's part of their campaign to terrorize make scapegoats of helpless uh school kids, gay kids, trans kids, dictating them to to them what they should read and how they should think. They don't want uh free independent thinking people. They want uh inmates in the asylum. They want obedient uh drones doing their bidding. That's how authoritarian regimes work. That's their That's their dream they're hoping for. They might not say it, but the impulse, the feeling, the emotion is there towards that. We can't have that. We gotta fight it. We gotta resist it.
