Hello, hello, hello John Mason. How is everybody? This Shabbat we will be studying the Torah portion, Noah. It is Genesis six, chapter six, verse nine, through chapter eleven, verse thirty-two. It is as you know the story of Noah. How he how out of the due to the wickedness throughout the world, the evil and sinfulness, God instructs Noah at 60 years old to uh construct an ark, this big huge vessel called an ark. For it is to be um used to uh convey a male and female pair of the animals, two by two, to go into the ark with Noah's family, and when the floods come for thirty days and thirty nights, all life on earth will be destroyed, but Noah will be saved, and his family and the animals on the ark. I for one do not take this literally. However, I can take this as a metaphor. What terrible cataclysm would destroy a society? Or for that matter, friendship or a family or a city, what have you? We have our society has been flooded and damaged so many times by actual floods and hurricanes and earthquakes and tornadoes, terrible natural disasters, which have been aggravated by the climate change going on in the world. Carbon-based pollutants going into the atmosphere and warming up the uh the earth, global warming is a thing and affecting the climate here on earth. And excuse me, and as and those have to be addressed. The environmental issue must be addressed. We have to cut back on severely severely on greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuel emissions. And we can do it without affecting our lifestyle that we have become accustomed to and enjoy. It's not a comfortable either a comfortable lifestyle or environmental responsibility. You can have both. You need both. Otherwise, in about I'd say thirty or so years, the planet will be a total hellscape that our grandkids and great grandkids will have to endure. Like overheated, like ninety-degree weather in January, if you can believe that, it's possible. Forest fires uh igniting, dried up oceans, dried up lakes of ocean life, uh sea creatures dying on us are part of the ecosystem that we depend on. And there is a and there is also the catastrophes of racism and homophobia and transphobia and sexism and hatred for foreigners, hatred for religious minorities like Muslims and Jews, like me, and and the injustices that come with uh unregulated capitalism, like the losing of a good paying job so that a per worker can't uh workers can't uh take care of themselves or their families, and and poor safety occupational safety and health conditions that they have to endure just to earn a paycheck, and it killing them in the process, and and with that, as due to the fact that these dominant class economic classes want to maintain their economic dominance, they want to do everything they can to distract attention and anger from themselves to some other other, whether it be uh foreigners or some dark-skinned people or Jews. They don't they don't care. Just so long as the their anger is direct anger of the public is directed at anybody but them. And trust me, these dominant economic and social classes and our puppet politicians do not care. Do not care about working people as they kill each other over scarce jobs with scarce money. That's what we're up against, Cats and Kins. So and I don't believe that we should be by our s try isolate ourselves from all these problems. Like in like there's reports out of uh these wealthy people who uh who are aware of an up of an impending social or environmental cataclysm or disaster, and they go into these purchase these luxury bunkers with all the comforts of home, like an underground mansions they are. And they pla and in case uh the cataclysm social and economic does come, they can hide out there. It's kind of like uh the Ayn Rand rag of a novel, Atlas Shrug, where all the big John Galt organizers, all the billionaires uh come into his little gulch and hide out. But we can't be on our own little arc or be our own little gulch trying to ride out this social, economic, environmental storm.

We have to deal with those cataclysms, those impending catastrophes now. Right now. So as I never tire, tell everybody, November eighth, it's a general election, and I urge everybody, either in person or by mail, to vote. Get out there and vote. Vote as if your children's lives depend on them on it. Vote as if your the country your your country depends on it because it does. It depends on our country's future depends on the kind of people we elect for office. And the kind of issues they'll want to deal with rather than some nonsense issue about Jewish space lasers and all that nonsense. And let me give a shout out to John Fetterman, Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, who's running for United States Senator from Pennsylvania, and he had the guts, just a few months after a stroke, to get up on the stage with uh up against Mehmed Oz in the debate. Mehmet Oz, the uh pill pimp, the glorified snake oil salesman with with about nine or ten mansions, only one of them in Pennsylvania. He doesn't live in that one. He um Ferdinand had the guts to get up on the stage, risk ridicule, and he got it. But he stood up for the people of Pennsylvania. He that's the kind of man we need. And what does Oz stand for? Getting rich and getting richer? His whole record has been one of uh going on TV and selling all of these all these crack medicines and herbal supplements which do no good and a lot of harm. And trust me he'll behave the same way if if if he's elected to the Senate. So my endorsement for Senate of the United States from Pennsylvania is John Fetterman. And I and I approve this message.
