Hello, hello, John Mason. How is everybody? Well, the elections are for the most part behind us. We now have Donald Watts' face announcing to the world that he's going to run again for president, as if anyone cares. Certainly not MSNBC and not so much CNN and even Fox News and the whole Murdoch media empire that built him up is turning against him. After he proved so useful in motivating voters to be to vote the Republican slate and getting past their beloved tax cuts for corporations and billionaires. Now after he's used up his usefulness, the Republicans are finally wondering, finally coming to the realization that Trump is toxic, super toxic. But but uh Trump has his followers on the base, and God forbid he should they should uh upset them. They should upset the base. And it shows in the current uh uh c in the new incoming Congress. First of all, I commend uh speaker Nancy Pelosi for all her hard work and service for the American people and for the Democratic Party, and I wish her well in the future. And she's going to step down as Speaker after from any actually from any leadership position in the party, and so are her two lieutenants, Stanley Hoyer of Maryland and Jim Clyburn of South Carolina. They like her are up in their 80s and and Pelosi is urging them all to step aside and make way for a new generation, which is a good thing for her to do. Thank you, Nancy Pelosi, for all you've done. And now we get the we get the uh the election for the next speaker. And alas, due to a tiny sliver of a majority Republicans have, uh, thanks to a whole lot of gerrymandering in the in the states, Kevin McCarthy of California might possibly be uh the next speaker. But Representative Andy Biggs of Arizona, who is part of the Weight of the Ray Freedom Caucus, freedom for what, uh are they advocating for, I don't know, has been challenging McCarthy on the speakership, saying that uh McCarthy will never get the 218 votes to uh get become elected speaker. And it should be interesting. They got the now the Republicans are thinking that simply because they got that tiny sliver of a majority, uh they got some sort of mandate to undo whatever Biden is doing, and even going after that old favorite bugaboo, the terrible thing called Hunter Biden's laptop. It's just they're no different from Captain Ahab still hell bent on killing the white, great white whale and not and not caring who gets killed along the way. They're not gonna concern themselves about the real issues facing the American people. They just want grand to stand for this tiny sl uh sliver of the of the American voting public, which is aging and dying. And and they and they got that little bit of the state apparatus. But Democrats have the still have the Senate, and fortunately the Democrats uh have have one of the a bit of a majority in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, and Joanna McClinton is said to be the first uh female uh speaker in the um in the chamber. I wish her well. So, and we still got uh the hot steamy mess in uh Georgia going on, uh pitting the highly competent and intelligent educated Raphael Warnock against uh Herschel Walker who took took too many blows to the head playing football. I I hate to say it, uh don't mean to be cruel, but he just is so freaking ignorant. First it was his um rattling off about uh our good air and China's bad air. Now it's uh he's rattling off here he's rattling off about vampires and werewolves and okay and his story about the bull jumping over the barbed wire fence to get the cows on the other side of the pasture and so what's the point? What the hell is the point? Okay In other words, one phase is over in the fight for freedom for Americans, and another phase is continuing. And as and as we uh uh get ready for Thanksgiving and be with our loved ones and rest up a little, let us still get ready to fight the good fight for the American people, such tangible things as health insurance for each and every American, what some people call Medicare for all. Continue to fight for quality schools for our kids, be they university level or community college or trade schools for the construction trades. Let's have de uh decent housing for uh for the American people. So may homeless people and homes being foreclosed. Well I still remember the twenty oh eight uh mortgage crisis. Mortgage companies were tanking and failing and people were losing their homes. But what gets bailed out? You guessed it, the mortgage companies. They get billions of do trillions of dollars from the from the Federal Reserve and see and executives who ran these corporations into the ground along with the rest of the American economy, get nice little uh service payments and and bonuses while the while the politicians who support them with tax cuts and favorable laws uh get hysterical about uh about funding for the SNAP program, which is the successor program to food stamps. That's another thing. An economy and a and a politics front loaded in favor of corporations and billionaires. They're the only ones that have access to the politicians and therefore they get to decide which laws become laws. That's the reality. And I'm in it to win it. I'm in the fight. I hope you are too. And that's it for now. I don't know what my schedule is for Thanksgiving. However, oh, have you ever noticed? I've seen Christmas decorations come out, Christmas cards, Christmas candy. Way before Halloween. I've seen uh Christmas uh St. Valentine's Day cards uh on display at my local Rite Aid on New Year's Eve. Hey, one holiday at a time, okay? I know they gotta make the money, and I know uh this this the holiday season is the prime uh spending season, but hey, one holiday at a time, okay? Okay, that's my rant. Now advertisements.
