I speak about Kristi Noem's dog-killing story, and how it reflects on the current Republican Party; and of the trump-ist whine about "discrimination against white people."
Hello, hello, hello, John Mason. How's everybody? I hope you're all well. Well, it's one of the big news stories of the previous of this week is that Christine Nolan, the governor of South Dakota, who's angling to be uh Trump's running mate, put out her autobiography. It's like a standard procedure for a candidate. Put out an autobiography talking about the rough and terrible days you had or didn't have growing up, and showing and proving to everybody that that you're that you're capable of the job you're angling for. Well, she proved herself to the MAGA base, how qualified she is to uh be their candidate for vice president. She put out the story about Cricket, the wire-haired pointer, about 14 months old, still pretty much in the puppy phase. And she complained about uh how useless cricket is to for a hunting quail. It just runs and runs around uh the field. And then they went to a then uh she went to a to a friend's farm and cricket got out of the car and began uh chasing the chickens and biting them in the neck. And Noam said I hated that dog. And she did not send the dog to a uh to to an obedience school, she didn't uh send it to a shelter for someone else to adopt her, no. She took Cricket over to a gravel pit and whacked her, mob style. She did the same thing with the family goat into the gravel pit, shot her. That seems to be what turns on the MAGA base. These are the same people who use terror and force uh to bully their way into power, storming into places where electoral votes are counted and rampaging through the Capitol because their guy lost fair and square a Democratic election and threatening uh election board employees. Violence is uh part of their routine. It is their routine. And if they ever got into power, it would just be worse and worse and worse. That's where where the it's not where the Republican Party is headed, that's where it is now. And and that's the that's what Trump is about. Bragging about using force and terror to get his way if democracy doesn't work out for him. Like he has indicated, on day one and every other day thereafter, if if God God forbid he gets re-elected, he's going to unleash such a wave of terror against protesters, against the media, against everybody who stands up to him. And we gotta stop this. And we have an opportunity to stop this on November 5th. Get out there and vote. And I'll be partisan here. Vote Democratic. Vote straight blue all up and down the ticket. The Raw has infested uh to the Republican Party so bad that the Raw is the Republican Party. It needs to be broken down so maybe, maybe, maybe a responsible center-right party could emerge in its place which recognizes constitutional and democratic norms. And another fun fact about a second Trump administration, God forbid, is that they're going to retool the Justice Department to go after violations of the civil rights of white people. In their eyes, white people are suffering discrimination due to uh affirmative action programs and DEI programs in colleges. And Stephen Miller, you remember that little termite? I said an insult to termites, but whatever. He was a guy that implemented uh Trump's uh border policy of caging up children, separate separating them from their parents. I mean that kind of sadistic little little bitch. He has a whole legal firm, law firm called America First Legal to go after uh cases cases of uh discrimination against white people, as they call it. But in reality, it's just an opportunity for them to uh to attack any advancement in civil rights for people they deem inferior. Not inferior by race or religion, but by not only that, but by class. As I'm a Jew and I'm pretty well to the left, and I'm a longtime community and trade union activist, and so I would be a target. And so are you. Don't think you're safe. Whatever Gestapo, what Trump and Miller will uh put the couple together to do the their dirty work of oppressing the American people. We're in we are in the crosshairs. Nobody is safe. So and again, get out there November 5th and vote Democrat, the vote Democratic all up and down the the line. That's the only way we're gonna save our country. And I have every confidence in the American people that's doable. Every election since uh Trump attained office has been a disaster for Republicans. Including the 2020 election, which showed once and for all that the American people don't go do not go with Trump. But but Trump and his meanings decide who the who the American people are. It's not people of color. It's not LGBTQ people, it's not Muslims or Jews. That's the that's Trump's America. Uh anybody who's not like him, not white or allegedly Christian, quote unquote, or affluent. So get out there and vote November 5th. Okay. Okay, time for advertisements.
