Birthday Celebration and Friendship Memories

Speaker 1

Go , go , go , go , go , go , go , go . Show them it's your birthday . We're gonna party like it's your birthday . We gonna sip a card and like it's your birthday and you know we don't give a fuck , it's your birthday . You're probably in the pool , I'm in the pool , I'm in the pool , I'm in the pool . I used to be in love with this bitch . They me and J . They'll fuck with her no more . Now I'll fuck with Tango Ray . Tango Ray .

Speaker 2

Hey yo boys . What's up , man ? Do we need two shots ? It's a combo . It's a combo , it's good , good people .

Speaker 1

All right , Listen , this is a bonus episode . You know we don't even drop on Thursdays . However , today is a really good friend of mine's birthday . Did I say mines ? Am I any of us ? That was ignorant of me ? Mine , a good friend of mine Birthday . There we go Now . I'm grammatically correct . Anyway , I want you guys to join me in wishing Barbara , aka Barbie , from the Let Me Touch you podcast . I want you guys to join me in wishing her a happy birthday today .

Speaker 1

Now she celebrated last weekend . She went out , had a blast , hosted it . It looked like she had a good time , a really good time friends , family , all that other good shit . I wasn't near , had to work I know that's the next question Like she's such a good friend , why weren't you there ? Why didn't you fuck your business ? Behave , all right . So what I'm going to do is take you down memory lane . It's going to be short too . This shit is going to be like five , 10 minutes at best , but I'm going to take you down memory lane , all right .

Speaker 1

So I met Barb which actually happens to be the good angel on my shoulder via a podcast post that she had called the upload . She was going to do some things . You know I was trying to at that time . I was running around trying to , I guess , collab or network not collab , because at that time we didn't have a lot of people on our show Not guest that is . So we started talking and went and I went and listened to a podcast . We started talking . She was going to do some stuff , right . The tears started flowing , not on my side , but on her side . She's a very emotional person , you know , because of what she was going through and how we were connected and the chip was like damn , that's crazy . I hung up the phone and I was like we were instantaneously friends . That was it that sealed the deal . The tears that signed contract , the friends . We were friends from then , from that point on .

Speaker 1

And then we got together with a couple of other podcasts and decided we were going to take our asses down to DC . Disclaimer Don't tell the worst fucking stories ever . The worst stories ever . Anyway , we went down to DC , we stayed in Airbnb , we had a hodgepodge of everything . It was a really dope time , really dope time . A lot of string friendships after that , but it was a really dope time . Like if I could rewind time and do it all again I would .

Speaker 1

Came back to New York , we got tight and we decided you know , with a couple of other podcasts is one of the podcasts that we would form and watch the home team pods and do a live . Now , creatively , bob and I we connect because it's like all right , we could do this , but how can we do it differently ? And I'm a quality world , so it's like it's got to be like quality , whatever it is , and we decided we want to do a hodgepodge of World Collective of podcasts on a Friday night , have them come drink with us and basically pay homage to the industry or the culture and pay it forward . So we would have podcasts as come on , play clips of their podcast , you know , basically giving them some exposure . We throw back shots , everybody have a good time and then we basically do a morning after video for those that missed it . Blah , blah , blah , just recapping it and bringing more people the next week . It was a good time .

Speaker 1

All good things fall apart , though . You know especially the way that my mouth is built . So that fell apart . But what didn't fall apart was our friendship , bob and I . So I want to take you down a memory lane with me and I just want to show you , like , the humble beginnings of where this woman started , so I'm going to play a couple of clips so you can get acquainted . Have you healed ? No , so why not be soon ? And it wouldn't be me if I didn't play the wrong clip , and I definitely played the wrong clip . That was not Bob at all . But I'll back at it , though , and we keep this organic one . Take hold . I am not editing this at all .

Speaker 2

Good afternoon guys . For those who are tuning in for the second time , Welcome back . For those who are tuning in for the first , welcome . I want to start off by apologizing . I know last week I had told you guys that I was going to be on by 12 or one . I wasn't feeling well last night so I kind of slept in late today , so I apologize , Okay . So I'm going to start off the episode by thanking everyone who took the time out to join the little giveaway that I had going on .

Speaker 1

So she was giving away shit way in the beginning , because this is season one , episode two seven rules of life . Now , that title alone I was like seven rules of life , you know it piqued my interest and I'm like , wait a minute , let me go back in and listen to a couple of episodes . Blah , blah , blah . This is after we had . You know , we sealed the deal as far as friends are concerned .

Speaker 2

Then I bumped into this the thing that someone said was picking off of your plate . Definitely , definitely . That's a big no . No for me . Whether I'm out on a date , whether I'm home , doesn't matter where I'm at . Do not put your hands in my food , Don't , Because I will hit you in your hand and then I will give you my plate , especially if you did touch something . I'm not going to eat it . I don't know where your hands were , Like , oh no , I'm a germaphobe and that is not going to rock . We're on a date and you know you ordered your food , I ordered mine and you would like to try what I'm having ? Then , you know , ask me .

Speaker 1

And that's when I went back , I revisited the contract , the friendship contract that we had , and added a couple of clauses , one of which being you can never not be my friend . After this I heard that and I was like , yeah , you can not be my friend because I'm like that , you know , except for being , you know , I'm not really a germaphobe , but I'm an asshole . So I guess they go hand in hand and you know , don't put your fork in my plate , unless , of course , it's my wife and I don't have any say that's I mean , I have say , but then who wants to live with that grief ? Right ? So then , of course , I reached out to her and I was like , we need to collab , we need to do something . So she was like , bet , let's do something Right , and this is one of the . Well , this is a clip from one of the things that we did .

Speaker 2

Right . So now we're going to go , and I'm going to discuss four reasons why it's important to say no , you ready .

Speaker 1

Let's go .

Speaker 2

All right . So the first reason is saying no means you value your time . If you remind yourself of how valuable your time is and how waste of time you can't get back , you think twice before you actually say yes to someone when in reality you want to say no .

Speaker 1

And on that episode I learned quite a bit about myself . Which is why she and I have stayed so close is because she'll start talking about shit that I'm vehemently against Right Tripping over my words and I would , you know , start an introspective journey and figure some things out about myself

The Power of Friendship and Resilience

Speaker 1

. And when you have people like that around you , you hold on to them . In fact , you hold on to them tighter . She's such a sweet fucking soul . She's evil too , but she's such a sweet fucking soul .

Speaker 1

It kind of balances me in this podcasting world , because we've been the war together against each other , privately and outwardly , against , you know , creatively , against other podcasts . I mean , we put together one of the best . You don't want to call it a podcast , this is because that shit is corny . It was definitely a body of work that was beautiful and done in a very artsy way and super duper , creative course . Say no more . And yeah , it set our little circle on fire for months In fact it still lingers to this day which was a phenomenal piece of effort , you know , from the bottom up and you know , and some other things as well .

Speaker 1

So Bob right now is on hiatus and I'm not the friend to , you know . Go to your house , bang on your door , drag you around and tell you that you have a gift and you have to do this . So I nudge , but I gently nudge , and we trying to get it to come back out . So this is us screaming from our open windows like it's COVID all over again . Bob , come outside , Come outside , and I'm going to leave you with this . This is where we go with this .

Speaker 2

The quote of the day is this is what you don't do . Don't let this world make you bitter . Don't let the actions of other people turn you cold in the inside . Certain things happen that hurt us . People come that leave us and , most of all , there are moments when you're bound to fall . Don't let these things make you unkind . It's okay to cry , it's okay to be sad , but it's never okay to do other people wrong just because you were done wrong . We're human . We break , we make mistakes , but don't let the pain and sadness ruin your lives . Wake up in the morning and do what you think is right . There are moments in your life where you feel like giving up and you can't take it anymore . It's okay . Breathe , inhale , exhale . If you're weak , oh sorry , I know you're weak , but the things that show your weak side are also the same ones that make you stronger in the long run . It's all about taking whatever life throws at you and learning from it .

Speaker 2

Don't let the actions of other .
