It's the only podcast I listen to .
Speaker 1Alright , guys , check it out . Listen , we're back for another season of the Brunch Hour . Alright , I know it's been long Pause . I know that you've been waiting . Now listen , normally I have like a monologue at the front end of this .
Speaker 1I didn't do it , I couldn't find anything , but I want to tell you a quick story . So this season we're on tour , basically . So it's going to be a long season . It's going to be a long season , but it's not going to be a lot of episodes , but a long season Nonetheless . We actually happen to be in Bowie , maryland , right now .
Speaker 1Alright , so the next one , shadr , says hi , she'll actually be talking in two seconds , anyway . So again back to the monologue thing . I don't have a monologue today because I basically was I don't want to say lazy , even though it might be perceived as such . Anyway , so let me tell you about me going to get a fit Around my way . There's a store right Like a sneaker store blah , blah , blah clothing store . It's the Urban clothing store . Those are hard to come by now that TikTok and Instagram and all this other stuff in Amazon . You order your stuff and then it gets shipped to you . You don't like it , you chip it back . You know that whole thing .
Speaker 1I went in there . First of all , shout outs to Ethan . Right , this kid has the same namesake as my brother . That's one of the people that actually helped me in Q . So I walk into the store . I'm the only person in the store because I went real early . Good morning . This is my greeting to the person . Now , normally I don't say shit , I just walk in and blow it past you , but I had a bag in my hand and I had to return some shit . So you know , you have to be cordial , I need help . Good morning , and the person she ain't say nothing . She just literally turned around and went behind the counter , blah , blah , to stand the third .
Speaker 1And then I was at that point . I'm in my feelings . So I'm like how you feeling ? She was like I'm good , I'm like , oh , okay , cause when I said good morning , you ain't say nothing . So she was like , oh no , it's cold in here . I was like , oh , so immediately we became besties , cause I'm like I'm like that at work too . If it's too cold , don't talk to me . I you know management should fix this . What the fuck are we doing ? Like I don't pay to come here , I don't have enough sick days and on top of that , I feel like you're robbing me of my sick days . So you're making me sick , making me take my sick days when I want to be taking my sick days and laying on somebody's beach . But anyway , need to handle that . So we go through the whole thing .
Speaker 1Um , if you check the gram , she's responsible for the fit . Her and Ethan shout outs to y'all . Um , I didn't realize that asking somebody if they have Instagram could be perceived as me trying to talk to you Like , and it dawned on me because of the response that I got . So I was like yo , you got , you got . Um , you want a grand ? And then she looked at me kind of funny , like nigga , why are you asking me if I'm on a gram Like , first of all , you owe this fuck . And I was like oh , whoa , whoa , hold on , check it out . I have a podcast and I'm shit at promoting Like , I don't like to promote , I'm just saying you help me out . I'm going to be rocking the outfit , I'm going to do X1C and I just want to tag you in it . She was like oh , still didn't give me the Instagram . But I was like fuck it .
Speaker 1At this point I'm fine with it , cause you know , my ego was bruised because it's kind of like , first of all , I wasn't trying to get at you , you know . And then she's 24 , I believe , 24 . So she was like what's the podcast about ? Does they have any thought provoking content ? And that I melted . I melted , I didn't expect that . I didn't expect that . Not coming from 24 year old , not coming from 24 year old , 24 year old that actually mean mug me when I walked into the store . I didn't expect that . So I was like , yeah , we talk about shit , we talk about things . There's some things going on .
Speaker 1So I get in the car , it's three degrees outside , so I look in the mirror Apparently my nose has been running Right . So I look in the mirror and I'm like , nigga , you really was walking around looking like Roscoe from Martin , and I was like , oh , so that explains the Graham . You can't have my Graham . Go , wash your face the fuck out of here . The Graham Do I have a Graham ? Grandpa with the boogers wants to know if you got the grab . I have a Graham . Yeah , basically that's probably what she was thinking . I would have said the same shit . Everybody's laughing in the background . But anyway , we have an exciting season plan for you . I hope you can . I hope I'm going to start using my words . I promise , I hope that you enjoyed this monologue not monologue and you will definitely enjoy the season coming up . So , fucking , let's just get to the shit . I used to be in love with this bitch they mean J the fuck with her , no more .
Speaker 1Now I fuck with Tango Ray , tango Ray .
Speaker 4Hey , yo watch them . Do we need two shots ? It's a combo , yeah .
Speaker 1Now I have the whole crew with me , right and we going from right to left . You know my foundation , my pillow my a like my egg thing . You know what I mean Big spoon , little spoon . Let me stop Introduce yourself .
Speaker 2I'm always the big spoon . Hey y'all , what's up ? All right ?
Speaker 3See , you already know in that wave of you're not supposed to be putting my business out there .
Speaker 2We trying to change that this year Little bit .
Speaker 1You want to talk in the mic ? Let's change that too . I am , no you look at that Okay . Let me quit looking at you .
Speaker 2Go ahead . Hey y'all .
Speaker 4Hey y'all , what's your name ?
Speaker 6Shadrash .
Speaker 2Okay , they know me , they know me . Brother Lamp , take me on my misery .
Speaker 3please let's go . Good afternoon .
Speaker 2Good evening , whatever time you listening ?
Speaker 3I'm James Lamp here .
Speaker 1Host of the podcast conversation .
Speaker 4My podcast is on SoundCloud and I put podcast . Let me take this time to thank brother styles for inviting me to his platform . It's an honor and a pleasure . Appreciate that . Oh yeah , and I'm Ryan .
Speaker 6Free Lance . Photographer by day , movie critic by night , I guess you could say and yeah , I'm just excited to be here , I appreciate this whole collaboration we have going on and yeah , I think this will be an outstanding season . Not saying that the previous ones weren't ex-downing , but this is something special . You see how you try to clean that up , though .
Speaker 1It was like your previous seasons was shit . Yeah , I'm on .
Speaker 2Captain Savor podcast out here . I'm actually happy to have all of you on board .
Speaker 1I'm actually happy to have all of you on board . You know , I'm sure that you know , all right , every season I'm like I'm not going to say shit , I'm not I'm not going to say shit .
Speaker 1I promise you I'm not going to say shit . However , change is always good . You know change is always good and change is always necessary in order to grow . You know so . Either you burn the shit down , you start all over and you get it right , or you continue to change shit . I'm heavily criticized for changing and I don't give a fuck .
Speaker 1So , this is the thing you know change and create , you know , and that about that , it's going to be exciting season , right ? So let's tell the people what we're doing . So , basically , what we're doing is we have a tour right Six city tour . I'm trying to figure out whether we should tell them what cities or just pop up .
Speaker 2Because I don't even know .
Speaker 6I think just pull up like exercise .
Speaker 1You don't know , because you don't know your . Apple notes .
Speaker 2Oh my bad . They're in the notes . Remnants of past covoles . I know a couple of cities , but not all . I know a couple of cities , but not all of them .
Speaker 1Yeah , so what we're doing is we're doing is a six city tour . We're starting in Maryland . We're in Maryland right now , buoy to be exact . The next city is the next tour date . It's going to be New York , right , and I think that everybody could have pretty much figured that out themselves . And then the final tour date it's going to be an international tour date , so we're going to be out of the country for that . Yeah , so that's how it's shaking out this season .
Speaker 2I'm excited .
Speaker 3Yeah , I'm going to stop with the uncomfortable silences .
Speaker 6No , I'm down , I'm down .
Speaker 1I can't wait because .
Speaker 4I'm not editing shit . I'm used to recording by myself .
Speaker 1So , yeah , there we go .
Speaker 3And I'm not a podcast .
Speaker 1So all right , so I might edit that part out . Now I'm talking about all the chuckles that followed it . All right , so let's get to the shifts . Main course , it's time to eat . What's on your mind ? All right , so for this one , we're going to let Brother Ryan lead us into this , because , sorry , this was his brainchild , so to speak .
Speaker 6You talk about in terms of that ? You're talking about the good old milk and honey , correct ?
Speaker 1Yeah , I knew we were going to fuck up , and when I say we , I mean me . Yeah , no , you absolutely right , because I jumped into the finance .
Speaker 6I don't even know what I'm doing right now ?
Speaker 1I don't even know what I'm doing right now .
Speaker 6Oh yeah , I mean you know , but like I said , you know first I thought you said the brainchild is if I created milk and honey or something like that .
Speaker 1I was just like you know , ceo , you was correct because he actually the one did come up with the honey .
Speaker 4Yeah , we all sit .
Speaker 1Yeah , you write . You write there too . You know we sitting in this home , but , unbeknownst to us , he owns the block , everybody on his block , or renters , ladies and gentlemen , all right , I'm gonna own my shit . I fucked up . We wasn't even supposed to be in the main topic . So just close your eyes and imagine that that shit didn't happen . But if you're driving , keep your eyes open , just imagine that shit didn't happen . So we're gonna talk about our first time . We actually went to milk and honey and I apologize for that . We went to milk and honey , all right , but before we get to the milk and honey is a quick , I'm fucking this whole shit up .
Speaker 4You got nine good quickfire questions .
Speaker 2I do have some quick five questions .
Speaker 1I'm wondering how many people was like turn this shit off , shit the fuck off . You know , especially somebody's like yo . They all in the car and they're like can we listen to a podcast ?
Speaker 3And they turn this shit on to be like you got me listening to this bullshit .
Speaker 4No , we good , we got to bring it right back , yeah All right .
Speaker 1So let's do a quick round table discussion . Not even discussion , but a quick fire .
Speaker 6All right .
Speaker 1What was your favorite brunch spot and why anybody ?
Speaker 6well , I'll tell you like this , I'm kind of biased because it was my favorite anyway , but I'm gonna say milk and honey straight up . And as far as why I love the food , I'm a very simple , to the point , part type of person and if you got chicken waffles and you do chicken waffles right , you got me . So there are a couple of chicken waffle spots that they're also pleasant . So milk and honey is definitely , you know , kind of above and beyond with that .
Speaker 4Okay , you cheated . Okay , Actually , it's my favorite spot to now .
You both from the DMV , so you know that just so happened to be our favorite . My favorite spot too , and it's crazy because we both chicken and waffles like that was . That's my reason .
Speaker 1No , that's the fact . We did sit down and y'all both ordered the same shit , it wasn't it ?
Speaker 6wasn't planned . It wasn't like a you get the chicken waffles and I'm gonna get the chicken waffles and we're gonna look cool , and I wasn't like that , yeah we just , that's just we both on , yeah .
Speaker 1How long is that ? My court like 25 feet , because I think I'm gonna have to separate y'all .
Speaker 4Yeah , exactly , I'm not just that one , it's about to go left .
Speaker 1Yeah , what about you as that ?
Speaker 2And Dallas , it's gonna be snooze . It's definitely my favorite , yeah .
Speaker 6I've been there and I forget . Yeah , I went to snooze for my 40th and I went to the snooze in San Antonio . Oh and you know I would . I would like to retract or redact my answer . I can't . They have the pancake flakes and that's what I go to .
Speaker 2And I had like the sweet potato . Yeah sweet potato pancakes as well , always good , but yeah , I mean it's like a retro vibe . Cost is good , so yeah , really affordable , yeah that's like a hippie type of yeah for sure . Okay , yeah , what about yours ? Huh , huh .
Speaker 1Huh , I don't have one actually .
Speaker 2That's crazy .
Speaker 6Styles brunches when he just coast with Tim's on Instead of facts in the kitchen . Oh , we doing we don't all right , so we leaning on New .
Speaker 1York now Corn beef has . Okay , corn beef has and and you can attest to this as doc , because wherever we go , always ask if it's on the menu , mm-hmm , and I've only actually had it . Well , there was a spot in Dallas that we went to and it was like real beef in it , and I was surprised as fuck because it was like big beef chunks .
Speaker 4This is scary question for me to add don't do it . It was using real beef . What taxes books they use in .
Speaker 1New York . You all right , so let me explain to you how my roadcaster works . There are mute buttons on here , so if you fuck around and you talking but you can't , well , you don't have your headphones on , so you don't know . I'm gonna just give you the gentle smile . No , no , no , they listen to one know that to now they they use it , but it's not Um , it's real , real beef .
Speaker 4Okay , or how do you know ?
Speaker 1flavored texture Us I use a MSG I say , yeah , it's beef . I put it to you like this I went out to . I went out to Dallas . I had the corn beef hash at a couple of different spots and I no longer really eat it in New York . I promise you that wow okay because I haven't now , I'm just scared , mm-hmm , right yeah yes .
Speaker 6To Lambs point .
Speaker 1Yeah to Lambs point . What the fuck have I ?
Speaker 3What is it ?
Speaker 4Mush .
Speaker 1Mush . All right , hold on , let me see . All right , we got it . It's supposed to be a quick fire , all right , how important is food quality , you guys ?
Speaker 6I'm not . It's very important if the food is food , cause not there , I can't do it . I'm scared with food as it is , so now I Want some corn beef hash from from New York no . So that's very important , man , I yeah , if I think that's kind of thing . That's almost like saying I don't know , you know basketball , but but the basketball itself is trash . It's like you can't play ball without a good basketball . You can't really eat if the food quality is trash .
Speaker 1Yeah , well , I've spoken about somebody actually plays bad . I fucking hate basketball so I wouldn't even know . I just learned something . You know me . I'll play with balls , that part .
Speaker 3I'm just gonna skip ahead to the end .
Speaker 1All right , fuck that , all right . Do you prefer a large variety of portions or small ? You know , curated menu for brunch .
Speaker 6So basically , oh , small man , I'm not a big eater like that . My wife tells me all the time Ryan just eats , just for fuel . He don't eat because he enjoys food . So , nah , it's a small push like I would waste money at a buffet so I can't do it Okay .
Speaker 2I like options , give me options . I mean I have to be too , too large of a menu option , but I need some options .
Speaker 4I know for sure , okay , I don't need a lot of options .
Speaker 1I mean , you know what ? I think that they need to . Some brunch bots need to pair the menu down , because it's kind of like you know me , yeah , and I'll be sitting there looking at that man . I got to show up at 12 brunches over it too , and I'm ordering brunch at 145 . Where give me . Give me , is you know , as few choices as possible . I can't do it . How significant is the quality of service in your overall brunch experience ?
Speaker 6I ain't gonna fry . I mean it don't have to be top-tier quality service , but I would prefer somebody to be nice . But you know , like if the food makes up for shitty service , I'll take it .
Speaker 3Yeah , yeah that's where my toes are gonna go laugh . Yeah , you definitely will laugh .
Speaker 4Give me some good service too , like I'll just be throwing my food down on the table tomorrow . Yeah , it's good , fuck you no .
Speaker 2Service is important . We should be able to have both .
Speaker 1So this next comment is for you know we're a 40 and up group , so you know you don't want it to be like Mel's fucking diner . No , those who know know . Let me see Do you prefer a casual or formal brunch ?
Speaker 6setting Casual man like if you mean formal like , not not just casual . I don't want to feel like I'm going to Sunday church service to eat . I don't want the , the setup to be the same way . Let me just pull up a evening saying Okay .
Speaker 1Come on , boozy .
Speaker 2I might say the former here and there , but you know , I mean , you know I'm a girl , so I want to dress up and go to brunch .
Speaker 1That's the thing . Rocking with her is kind of like I'm on a fence with it , because you know , sometimes you want to there be an establishment that has a really crazy Decor and you like kids show up in here with just sweatpants and I'd rather show up in my sweatpants .
Speaker 2But you just can't me your whole pants . Watch your mouth . Don't worry , I've been .
Speaker 1I've had a pair that was kidnapped and burn and I burn you know , Next question .
Speaker 4You know , but you know just aiming to cut . But one thing you know A lot of these places don't even let you wear athletic way .
Speaker 2So right , you gotta do you like .
Speaker 6I think , like turkey leg is something like they did something like that last year right , they changed the dress code , or something like that . Like you got to be spiffy to eat a turkey leg . Now something crazy .
Speaker 3Where , oh , and a turkey leg in Houston right .
Speaker 6They upgraded your dress code as if you go into a club or something like that . You got , I think I have like a button-up shirt . I might be , I don't know if they went that far . Yeah , I might be gasping it up .
Speaker 3But it was definitely did make some change yeah .
Speaker 4There was mad about it .
Speaker 1Yeah , I guess . So I mean listen a Teaches on yeah right , because in certain places you can't win . You know when we were coming up . You can't go into a store without shoes , you know you had to have a shirt on .
Speaker 3Yeah no , exactly .
Speaker 1Okay , so what type of ambience ? And we're just , you know , right off of that , but what type of ambience or atmosphere do ?
Speaker 6you prefer . You gotta be something laid back , you gotta be fun and I feel like you can't go wrong if you just have like the right type of music there . So you know you don't have to be a DJ DJ , but it's like somebody on staff gotta have the fire playlist Like like there's been some times while I go to restaurant I'm like , oh , let me get the , let me get the shazam or whatever it is , and let me put those on my own playlist because it's nice . So I think music is like 90% of the ambience for me .
Speaker 4So yeah , yeah , the music is important .
Speaker 1Well , if I'm a branch , so your men is in the streets , ladies , that does not mean he's for the streets . I don't disrespect my man but , he's definitely outside , not a little bit that you off the porch , you at least got to the corner he's starting .
Speaker 6He ain't come up to bench man .
Speaker 4Yeah , I don't know .
Speaker 1Oh , all right , all right , all right , that's died . What you , what's your thing ?
Speaker 2No , definitely music , for sure , but not to a point where , no , we had a place , kitchens and cocktails and Dallas where people were getting like stand up in the Seats you know twerking and the chairs , stuff like that . So I mean with the music because it was like that's not a playlist , but we Wasn't like that yeah and so it was just a whole situation . But yeah , I mean , like said , music for sure , but I think you know yeah , yeah , come through with that like burner boy or something .
Speaker 6Something chill , I guess .
Speaker 2Yeah , I mean , you should know , like , why you getting up in folks season sofas with your heels on Like a little bit too much .
Speaker 3I don't really care what kind of music on . You shouldn't be doing that Sometimes .
Speaker 6Like that's like I have to like . Well , for my most , as in , I guess that the bottomless get you there .
Speaker 4I guess you know so . Might get punched in the face . You kind of got to pay attention to the genre .
Speaker 6That's why like was good , yeah , I'm saying , but like you can't be in there and somebody play , I gave you power by now . So some yet that turn your whole brunch experience off , probably it depends on where you are . If you win Queens bridge , then you know , that's a .
Speaker 1Thing .
Speaker 4That's a thing , but you know what ? See you something that's actually . You say that Because what are we listening for ?
Speaker 5we listen to the lyrics , Beats but the beats not gonna have you gone crazy .
Speaker 3No , not that cuz that's a drapey .
Speaker 1So for me , I need it all . I need the ambience , I need , you know , I need the good music , cuz a good music I literally need . It has to be . I Don't want to eat brunch at the corner store . I mean , it may look like when I walk through the door . I want to eat lunch . I'm a bunch of the corner store , but I don't want to eat brunch at the corner store .
Speaker 6Okay , right so .
Speaker 1I need , I need all of that . I need the ambience to match the music and the music to match the ambience . You know , and I don't like super duper packs Brunches , I like seeing them on a gram because that shit it gives me goosebumps . I'm not gonna lie , mm-hmm . I just don't like a lot of motherfuckers like that , though Don't be up all up on me and nah .
Speaker 1This is a day party , for sure you know , but I'm a man of a certain age . Now I'm just playing . Oh , let me see . Um , we did the casual or the formal right . Yes , we did what ? What are some must-haves that you have to have on the menu ?
Speaker 6Well , a Chicken and waffles , like I said , I don't get a lot of . I don't . I don't get to a ventures with food in the first place . I'm scarier with food if you got , if you got chicken , the waffles you know , ten times out of ten I'm getting chicken waffles . Eleven times out of ten I'm getting chicken waffles . Yes , I was bad .
Speaker 6No , this dude making me feel good about my small I'm a look it's chicken waffles at brunch , if I , if you , if you know , I know the cheesecake factory was like a topic of discussion at one point . If I go to cheesecake I'm getting the miso salmon , nothing else . So there's certain spots I go to already know what I want , so I don't need to give you the main .
Speaker 4No , they don't not for real .
Speaker 6They really don't Give me the menu . If you don't have chicken waffles , then I I'll take the meat .
Yeah , I feel like that's it chicken and pancakes . I maybe I get a menu , just in case , but yeah .
Speaker 3Yeah so that the other day kind of turn me off yeah chicken pancakes sounds gross .
Speaker 1Stop playing with my . Most is two different textures . It is , it is , it is .
Speaker 6You know , I have tried it once and I didn't like it .
Speaker 1I couldn't imagine the shit and I was like now I did .
Speaker 4I've had chicken and fresh toes .
Speaker 6I don't know that's not the same I don't know chicken or something about the waifu . Yeah , something about chicken waffles .
Speaker 1Yeah , you took a hard left with that chicken . Because the French toast that I had today , yeah , no , no , that shit was like . I know I loved it , but I'm just trying to imagine a piece of chicken . Now , yeah , now , that fucked me up textually .
Speaker 4It was . So I went to this place , called so baby , it was like a , like a graham cracker French toast . Hmm , yeah , it was , it was good .
Speaker 3Oh , you got sophisticated with it , all right , okay .
Speaker 1He said they had the gold flakes .
Speaker 6All you listen is the milk .
Speaker 1Okay . Do you enjoy bottomless brunches , as opposed to brunches where they have like signature drinks ?
Speaker 6only well we say about me . Some are like in terms of the drinks , just never in them bottomless or everything well , you already know they're not giving you everything bottomless they give and if you find that please let me know you .
Speaker 1You get this orange juice and is this liquor that we got from across the street ? Yeah , folks , is right .
Speaker 6Yeah , I'm cool . I'm cool on the bottomless any , any beverage , because , especially what I call , I'm a . I'm a lightweight . I give out three drinks and I'm good , so I can't do bottoms anyway . So now I'm fine without it . Okay .
Speaker 4Yeah , I don't drink . So there you go , but you know , I'm not by myself .
Speaker 1You want that bottomless water .
Speaker 4For the value and I'm assuming the woman . I would probably want the bottomless .
Speaker 1Yeah , you can be out here like heavy . It's a new Bill Cosby . This thing is just like . But they put judge . She willingly drink all of that shit . I don't drink that . She signed a consent form before she started drinking that stuff not gonna make her do nothing . There we go yeah exactly , even if she isn't .
Speaker 4Just kind of as a loss . She wasn't in the right mind , I wonder , waking up some other bad decisions you made .
Speaker 1And if you do , is in your bed . I wasn't here .
Speaker 4Yeah .
Speaker 1What's a us that ?
Speaker 2Again , options for me . So give me a couple of different cocktails to try work . No , no , no no , no , no , no , not bombless but just different .
Speaker 6Just a bombless bar .
Speaker 1Yeah , that's crazy but no , anybody out there . You find a bottomless like cocktail , please Let me know I'm there . Yeah , I'm there . I need the . I'm with you , I need , I don't . I Forsake the fucking the most like I don't , I don't even . I know it's tied to brunch , mm-hmm , but I rather have a cocktail .
Speaker 1Yeah , you know , I'd rather pay extra to get a cocktail or two as opposed to have , you know , in or the orange juice and champagne , or the bulini . I mean , I'd rather do it that way , you know . All right , and the last one , would you say that the value for the money is ? It is an important factor when Choosing a brunch place .
Speaker 6Hell yeah , cuz I . There's been some spots where , like , you pay 60 bucks and they give you the smallest of portions , like even even something that I would be turned off by , and that's saying a lot . So , nah , I definitely want to get my money's worth . So if I paid I don't know $40 a plate , I want $40 Worth of something good . What does that look like ? Shoot , you know . Maybe throw in a cocktail in there . Of course , chicken and waffle , maybe a side of eggs , oh , the damn lemon pepper wings for .
Speaker 1Apatowl .
Speaker 6Yeah , I want variety for my , for my little $40 . I know it may not be much for , so you know , but yeah , give me variety for my little 40 .
Speaker 4I don't know about you . Multiply that by two . Hey , that's true . Yeah , you're right . So we have about a hundred .
Speaker 6No , I mean , compared to an unestablished restaurant , low 40 . But yeah , you're good , point big 40 for me .
Speaker 4So we we both established chicken and waffles .
Speaker 1I wouldn't mind some good home fries 100% and not everybody could do them , since , right , that's a problem , that's a problem for me . So I'm big scared every time I order this shit . You know , I mean I'll . It's like I don't know about y'all , but sometimes I need to see one of those plates floating by my table to see what it a little like .
Speaker 5Yeah , you know you know and then pull my way to back over here , Exactly .
Speaker 2Let me see what that it come in .
Speaker 1What was that ? What are they eating ? You know without pointing , so you got give them the head . Now what are they eating ?
Speaker 3I .
Speaker 1What about you ? We was that brunt hold on I need , I need , I need lamps , help . So , lamb , I'm the waitress right , I'm about to hand you this thing so you can put your credit card in . Okay , here , that's exactly what it is . If you're not watching the video , he's stiff on the shit out of it . And she was like him . And .
Speaker 6I was like yeah . That's your look like a matumbo commercial .
Speaker 1So okay . So , as it relates to me , yeah , of course money matters . As you can clearly see , I jump into my lamp voice like big 40 for me Now . But to be honest with you , I Don't want to say that money's no object , because it absolutely is , but I got to see what comes with that . Yeah , you know , because I'm willing to spend the money If something comes with that . You know something back with the you know line , with the plates and stuff like that . What is ? What does that portion look like ?
Speaker 3you want to sit .
Speaker 1I'm saying um , and I'm over here with lamp , cuz lamp mentioned something today . He was like I , I just need two people to say that shit was bad . I ain't going , you won't get a third . Yeah , you know . And then you know , my wife is bougie and I'm you are and I'm bougie . You are and I'm bougie to an extent . All right , so maybe I'm a little bit more . She is , you know .
Speaker 4Because you we saw you cut that biscuit With the fork in my .
Speaker 2I don't know if you like that . I don't know if you like that .
Speaker 6You probably use a fork and knife with a pizza slice problem . That was a good segue , so what we did was For our first
brunch .
Speaker 1What we did was we ended up at milken honey in Bowie , maryland , and our server was Erica . Erica shoutouts to you and I'm gonna let y'all take it away , and then I'll jump in , cuz I feel a thrashing coming on .
Speaker 6Well , yeah , in terms of Erica , erica was was was phenomenal Customer service on warm welcome . You know , she actually is one of those people like she actually Knows what you should get before you should before you ordered , and she actually did a perfect example that with with styles . But but back to this cake cutting a biscuit . So so everybody else was like , you know , they , they go on with a biscuit and nobody else uses for everybody , just a . That biscuit is fire .
Speaker 1She put the biscuits on the table , and Then it was followed by release the home . So I turn around everybody grabbing a biscuit with their hands . It didn't bother me nothing , cuz I'm a savage too , but it didn't bother me any . So then what I did was Every like the dust unsettled you know , I mean . Biscuits were gone , you know , I mean some were half-eaten , you know , whatever . So I gently pulled the last biscuit into my Saucer , got my little knife and fork and started to cut . Now hold on . But I'm getting cool points and savages turn around .
Speaker 4I would expect it Like .
Speaker 1Before it's a cut a biscuit at my bucket at the table questioning them .
Speaker 3It was looking around the other tables like yo . Who else is cutting the ?
Speaker 1biscuit .
Speaker 4Good job with the man .
Speaker 2I'm a big .
Speaker 4And I just say , you know , god bless , mama's stops yeah .
Speaker 6Yeah , I saw that .
Speaker 1Who brought it up ? Though , somebody brought it up .
Speaker 4I was too scared to bring it up .
Speaker 6I was really concerned , like yeah , I wouldn't even try to be rude , I was just like curious . I was like you got why you gotta fuck to your business .
Speaker 1And I'm looking back at the three at home , looking at fingers .
Speaker 2I was clicking the honey off .
Speaker 1The biscuit was amazing , yeah , you know I was slicing that motherfucker up . You know , what was crazy is that I would have the same thought if someone well , not if someone I've witnessed it Eating a slice , a piece of what a knife and fork I've seen it , I ain't I go for .
Speaker 6I did that once before , I was all right it is . And he over here talking about me cutting the biscuit here's a reason why ?
Speaker 1here's a real . I was on a . I was on a date Just finished a change in attire .
Speaker 6Right , you couldn't wash your hands now . I was on the first date in college or something and I , you know I really liked this girl and I was like I'm about to be above him in beyond impressive . We went to like some pizza spot , like a California pizza kitchen . Oh , that's my yeah and so I was like , yeah , I'm a wire with this . And she looked at me and gave me the same . It's like why you got a knife or folks to your pizza and she probably thought it was like extra , extra soft .
Speaker 4That's all weirdo , yeah . What have we learned from there ?
Speaker 6be yourself .
Speaker 2There , you go Don't use a knife and forks and cut a biscuit I was . Had . I hadn't tapped into the prime of me at that point in time .
Speaker 1I was like I was trying to impress y'all .
Speaker 2I'm definitely looking at you a little bit different now for sure .
Speaker 1So we've come up with a rating system In which to rate , so in which to rate our experiences at these spots , all right , and with that , through this , we may or may not have conversation about it . So it's a five-tier Rating system . Yeah , one is poor . Two is fair the food was decent , but nothing special . Three is good the food was tasty and satisfying . Right , how you call it . What else ? What else ? Very good , the food was delicious and exceeding Exceeded expectations , and excellent . The food was exceptional and Mm-hmm and memorable . All right , so that's that's what we're going with this . So , on a scale of one to ten , I'm gonna start with these waffle and chicken eatin' up , I guess . There you go .
Speaker 6That's fine . Yup , yup , yeah . And to the food quality I'm goin' with a five . Like you know , it's the chicken and waffles at that particular establishment , milk and Honey , that keeps me goin' back . I'm gonna give it a five In terms of memorable . When I think of a honey biscuit , milk and Honey is first in the cut of my mind . So , hell yeah , I give a food quality a five for sure .
Speaker 4Same Five for me .
Speaker 1I wouldn't expect anything different . You had the same fuckin' meal Right and that's the crazy part .
Speaker 4I've had it three times . And they keep giving a five .
Speaker 3So congratulations to .
Speaker 4Milk and Honey for doin' shit right .
Speaker 6Yeah , in the middle of the front .
Speaker 2I definitely have to say five What'd ?
Speaker 1you have .
Speaker 2I had the catfish and grits and it was like cooked to perfection . Like the fish was crunchy , it was , and then the grits was real cheesy , but I don't know . It just had a good flavor to them . So but yeah , I definitely give it a five .
Speaker 1Okay , I definitely enjoyed it . I would absolutely , because I did have an opportunity to taste off of your plate . I had to fight .
Speaker 2And they had Louisiana Hot Sauce . Good , I'm such .
Speaker 1Nah , that's cool . Yeah , the grits and I'm not a grits person the grits were cooked . It's easy to fuck up some grits . You could fuck up some grits , the grits you could fuck up . I fucked them shits up on purpose and by mistake . But yeah , five for you , but for me . I had the rum shot of French Toast , and when I tell you that these fucking two slices of bread now .
Speaker 1I don't think that they put it on like that regular holla bread . The thick joint didn't matter , though . Didn't matter because it was amazing , it was a five , five for sure , five . Now the Jell-O eggs , though . Jell-o eggs , jell-o eggs . I don't want to be the guy , but I'm going to be the guy Only because this is basically from the essence of Erika . She would want me to tell the truth , so I also ordered a side of eggs because she asked me am I going to just get the French Toast and not get anything with it ? Mind you , I did scrape the fucking fruit off of the French Toast because I'm a savage . Just give me a fucking French Toast , don't dress it up with this . It's not going to get in . Scrape that shit off . She brings me the eggs . The eggs are in a bowl , right , immediately turned off , because I'm like why are my eggs in a bowl ? I'm thinking cereal , I'm thinking salad , I'm not thinking eggs . She puts it down and it starts to jiggle . I'm like not with the Jell-O eggs , I don't like the Jell-O eggs .
Speaker 6It's like a Megastown video . Just jiggle when you put it down . Watch it now . I almost got punched in the face last night , but for Megastown niggas be starting shit , don't even know they starting shit .
Speaker 2I didn't know .
Speaker 1But yeah , no , that whole thing we did how you call it . Oh , also the drink , because I'm the only one , I think , that got alcoholic beverage . The drink , the brunch punch is what she called it . It's fucking amazing .
Speaker 3Yeah , I mean , it was like she said she did .
Speaker 1She did and shout out to Erica . Let me talk about Erica for two seconds . No , I'm not going to do it , because we do have a services and experiences that we raise as well . So five for me , so let's move on to two
. What about the variety of options ? How would you rate and range the options available for brunch ?
Speaker 6Oh , man , I would have to say I would give it a four . I had an extensive range of options and , like I said , this category , man , I'd be necessarily up my alley because , like you said , I'm tunnel vision on the brunch menu especially . But if they didn't have chicken and waffles though I saw some other stuff I would have got .
Speaker 1But let me ask you a question . Did you just bang them in the head for something that they absolutely had and said that if they didn't have that , you would rate them lower than a four .
Speaker 6No , I wouldn't rate them lower than a four . That's just me being , I guess , weird , like you know . Yeah , I guess , yeah , I would just stick with a four . You said .
Speaker 1I'm gonna stick with four . I'm staying on business .
Speaker 6Yeah , I'm staying on business he was like it was a four . Yeah , I'm gonna stick with four , I mean because it was very extensive and you had options and yeah , I mean , if you , yeah , there's plenty of stuff you could get on the menu , Okay , yeah , I just maybe it's just the whole weird just thing . I don't want to give everything a five , but yeah .
Speaker 1Okay , I mean , you know it's crazy because I used to work in a job that actually what people would give out surveys ? Right , you would do the best possible thing for them and they would give you a three , because nobody's perfect . Like bitch , I was perfect in that moment .
Speaker 6Fuck , is you talking about Improvements ?
Speaker 3Yeah , yeah so don't go off on the move .
Speaker 1No , you take that up with God . That's between you and him . That shit ain't got nothing to do with what . I just did for you .
Speaker 4All right , just fucking anyway . So before I get his rate , you can get all fives from that on mind . Giving fives , that's what .
Speaker 1I got . It's the odd couple over there , but they both like chicken .
Speaker 4The funny thing is , but for this one I'm going to just say in a I didn't need reading me .
Speaker 3I've been there a couple of times I've randomly made you before .
Speaker 1All right , so let's go for that , because it hasn't changed since you last sold . I don't remember it .
Speaker 4Okay . So that's why I got to go in a . Okay , because when we picked the spot weeks ago , I was getting chicken and waffles .
Speaker 1He was in the spot ordering Right .
Speaker 4So when they gave me the menu , I took it . Yeah , but I don't even know why I took it , because I didn't even look at it . I knew I was getting chicken and waffles .
Speaker 6So no discussion , yeah .
Speaker 4It wasn't even enough . From there , they may have the best menu in this whole state . I didn't read it .
Speaker 6So , but not that , yeah , so , like if I wanted to be adventurous , not adventurous , I was tempted to get the steak and eggs they had on there . They had like a ribeye with some eggs . That looked very good .
Speaker 1Yeah , I might get that Drink 40 , because that shit definitely was close to 40 bucks .
Speaker 6Yeah , it was like , yeah it was , it was like a big 35 plus tax .
Speaker 1Yeah , you and I both ordered . I said this shit too . I was like hmm . Chicken and waffles wasn't cheap , man no it wasn't , but it wasn't 40 dollars no it wasn't 40 dollars .
Speaker 4It wasn't 40 dollars ?
Speaker 1Yeah , what about you , esda ?
Speaker 2I would say a five .
Speaker 3All right they had a pretty .
Speaker 2I was looking at the menu . They had a pretty good options for pretty much everybody . They even had like a plant based chicken sandwich . So yeah , so from lobster to fish , to chicken , to plant based , to steak , so yeah , I would say about a five , that's pretty good , all right , I'm definitely going with a five .
Speaker 1My reason is because I love one pages , one pages .
Speaker 3Yeah .
Speaker 1I mean like there's a diner in New York that reads like in the cyclopedia so what do you give the Cheesecake Factory menu ? They got like a library book of like options . Yeah , but see , this is the thing . No , I'm kind of like you too , Like I'm going there for I'm going for the pastikas and you know , and I already know what I want . Yeah , I'm not flipping . The only thing I'm flipping through that for is to see if you have any new cheesecake . You understand what I'm saying .
Speaker 1Stop taking a pineapple upside down cheesecake off the menu . Please Stop doing that . That's some dumb shit . It's probably your bestseller . You got some other bullshit on it . You're going to take that off for the damn me Fuck Triggered .
Speaker 3All right .
Speaker 1Ambience . All right , let's talk about the ambience .
Speaker 6I'm going to give the ambience a five . There's something about milk and honey . It always just looks so welcoming . The customer service I know that's a different topic , but the customer service also kind of helps . Also the ambience as well , in my opinion . Okay , because it just they match the ambience , it's welcoming atmosphere , and so are the people who greet you . And also , as Lampe said , they had the bomb ass playlist . I don't know who , I don't know what . Teenage young 20 year old playlists .
Speaker 4No , no , no , that's a grown girl . Oh yeah , oh yeah .
Speaker 6It was some date night playlist stuff . You could steal off the music in the Indian place today . So yeah , I give it a five straight up .
Speaker 1I will say that I did see Brother Ryan Shazam some shit .
Speaker 6I did , and it was .
Speaker 1it was Dwell-A , dwell-a song , yeah .
Speaker 6I forget the name of it , but it was a Dwell-A song for sure , and I will be putting it on my R&B playlist .
Speaker 1Okay , yeah , all right .
Speaker 4I thought you'd probably live Five , five . But I'm going to tell you the reason I give it a five , why I went to the bathroom .
Speaker 1Oh shit , no , that's a big thing .
Speaker 3That's a thing that makes the difference . That's a bathroom with super clean yeah .
Speaker 4Like almost like damn , somebody Don't do it Trying to Don't do it , they trying to get a raise . Okay , like it was like air freshening in there , it was clean .
Speaker 1But was there a guy in there with the lotion and all of that ?
Speaker 6No , no , no , no . Were like a man .
Speaker 1I'm in the club , I'm in the club , but that's what gets you a five for the bathroom .
Speaker 4That was probably getting in cuckoos Like when it comes to a restaurant now I expect the bathroom to be clean . You hope it's clean , you know what I'm saying , but this one was beyond clean . Okay , like it was like this was one of those better homes and garden clean Wow .
Speaker 3So five Better home to garden . Yeah , okay .
Speaker 2I guess about four or five .
Speaker 1You can't have a four or five . There's a point five in here Just kidding to get a five .
Speaker 2I mean it was a nice venue . I mean the music was good , the ambience was good . Of course , like I said , the service was awesome .
Speaker 3So , um , yeah , just don't be that person scared to give a five Okay . Yeah .
Speaker 2I'm gonna give them a five . They deserve it .
Speaker 1I'm gonna fuck all your heads up . I'm scared , I'm gonna give y'all a three , three , yeah , wow , fix your face , all of y'all .
Speaker 6Wow , all of y'all .
Speaker 2Y'all act like y'all watching me cut fucking biscuits right now . Yeah , it's like a biscuit thing . Never seen it before .
Speaker 1And this is no slight to them . The reason why I say that is this we're evaluating a brunch , right ? Yeah , so there are certain establishments that just have brunch on the menu and I felt like that that's what that was Like . This is brunch on the menu , so I have a different menu option for you . It doesn't speak to the tone of it . Angels in Harlem , in Harlem , different vibe . You understand what I'm saying . Like , because it's it's . It's when they start with their brunch . It's a brunch , you understand ? Like , literally , from top down , it's a bunch . You're not showing up there because you had dinner there last night or you ordered , you can't order breakfast there , but so forth and so on . Right , so there's no slight to them that it's a three , but what I'm seeing it as is again like it's , it's a . It's a restaurant that has brunch items .
Speaker 1Okay , so , that's where I'm going with this . All right , right Look at that , just dug myself out of that hole real quick , but we let it walk .
Speaker 4All right , let's get to the service .
And this was , I guess , the most enjoyable part for most of us right , the service . How would you rate the quality of service provided ?
Speaker 6to you . Oh , hands down Five . Erica was tremendous . She , she . It was almost like she was a fortune teller . She , she automatically just knew what , what styles , would and would like . You know all types of stuff . It was amazing . It was almost like she had some type of doctor strange ability .
Speaker 1We don't have to switch the order in which we asking these questions , ryan , like I'm gonna pull out all the stops , yeah .
Speaker 4More for Goli all up .
Speaker 4What do you think ? Easy five , and it was something that happened before . Everybody got there and I'm giving her five . So she comes to the table . She asked me you know that I want something to drink and I said , yeah , I just want a waterfront and she's okay . Well , if you want something else , let me know . I'm not going to put it in because during these hours we only be on a 90 minute time limit , but I know you still waiting on gas , so I'm not going to start putting stuff in until all your guests arrive . So , off the rip , she got a five . Just she got the five before she did anything . So that's awesome , that's dope .
Speaker 6Yeah .
Speaker 2I would say definitely a five , and even coming in like the people at the front , were very you know they were smiles on their face . Very , you know , helpful , you know . And then , of course , for Erica , you know she just took it like above and beyond . So definitely a five for me , great service .
Speaker 1It was Erica for me . Yeah . Erica for the win all day like all day , like just basically the engagement alone . You know a lot of people showing up for a check . She's engaged , she's invested you know and then come to find out she was a manager and I didn't even know she was a manager . You know , and that was for me , that was big for me .
Speaker 6Yeah .
Speaker 1Because a lot of managers , they want you to know that they're a manager . Because , on top of that , it's like listen , you're getting the best possible service . And let me explain why I am a manager . Nah , she was acting like she was low man on the totem pole the whole time .
Speaker 6Yeah .
Speaker 1You know , the conversation was great Menu items . I love when you go to a restaurant and they recommend things . And they're not recommending things because of the price , Right , but they're literally recommending things based off of the people that you know come to the restaurant . Right , you know it's the drink .
Speaker 3I don't know what it was , but she was nasty .
Speaker 1But she was like no , it's nasty , I'm like all right , cool , so let's move on . She was like nah , but I'm going to make it for you because I want you to understand this nasty .
Speaker 3Don't take my word for it .
Speaker 1You know I'm telling you that it is . But that solidified the trust and you know her picking options and stuff like that . She brought that out . It was nasty , of course , and then she went and got what she thought was the favorite and , between the two , of course , hands down the other one , one which was the brunch punch yeah .
Speaker 1But Erica , um , yeah , she's , she's . They are lucky to have Somebody like her , and I'm not just saying that it sounds real good , though , but I'm not just saying that they are extremely lucky . And then she brought a manager over .
Speaker 6Yeah , I bought a spola . Yeah , and that's what we found out . She was a manager . We didn't even find out that record from her .
Speaker 4Well , no , she didn't bring her over , she just had to come over . Oh yeah , that was a random . Oh okay , cause she went to other tables too , I got there .
Speaker 1So , um , yeah , All right . So boom , let's move on to Value and money , as it relates to where we went , A value .
Speaker 4I'll give it a . Uh , you know what ? I'm not going to be that person . I'm going to give him a five .
Speaker 3I'm going to give him a five .
Speaker 4I was about to be the the hater and be like I'm going to give him a full cause . I felt like I could have spent a little less on those chicken
Speaker 3and waffles , but it was good , so I got to give him a five .
Speaker 1Exactly , I mean , that's your third time .
Speaker 4What Third time ? What ?
Speaker 1Getting chicken and waffles .
Speaker 4There's going to be a fourth when I go .
Speaker 1He said I'm not going to be that guy . I'm like thinking you just going to keep going in and getting this .
Speaker 4You know what I think . Next time I'm going to do that steak and eggs .
Speaker 1Hmm , I think yeah , you're going to have to save up for that Especially I'm going to .
Speaker 2It's going to be chicken and waffles .
Speaker 4Yeah .
Speaker 1Big 40 .
Speaker 4That might be one of Dutch ones .
Speaker 6I give it a five as well in terms of value because , like we said , the steak and eggs with 35 by itself , my overall bill was like 40 , and I got the chicken and waffles and I got my appetizer , I got the lemon peppers and all that still came up to , you know , 40 . So I guess , and the biscuits , I think a little a little what I had to do with everything . I'm just saying maybe Because that was a lot for 40 .
Speaker 1Yeah , I'm sitting there listening to the shopping list and I'm like hold on bro Costco Right .
Speaker 1Discount brunch ? Yeah , not well , all right . So for me , though , it was pretty much the same . It shook out to about 67 . For us , you know , I tipped a 20 bucks , so it's like low 87 . And for what we had , and again the quality of the food my server . I'm taking all of that into account with what I'm paying , because my service nasty and I got to pay mad bread . You know we've gone to the movies and been pissed off like as for nachos they give you a bag of . Doritos .
Speaker 4Oh , yeah , oh fucking crazy . Hey , can we take a minute to applaud that $20 tip ? All right , all right .
Speaker 1What the fuck did y'all tip on ? I tipped 20% .
Speaker 6I tipped the like $10 .
Speaker 1Okay , so it's 30 . Yeah , yours shook out to about 12 .
Speaker 4Yeah .
Speaker 1About 12 .
Speaker 6Something like that , yeah .
Speaker 1I'm looking at her , no no , no , it worked .
Speaker 4You know how we get stereotype . That not tipping .
Speaker 1Listen , you know what tip means right . Yeah , I think so To ensure professionalism .
Speaker 4Oh , you know , okay , because I did not know that yeah .
Speaker 1That's what the fuck it means . So when I'm being stereotype because I'm not tipping , let's go look in the mirror real quick . You understand what I'm saying . Like you over here , you know bringing me cold biscuits .
Speaker 6Oh , cold hard biscuits . You understand what I'm saying .
Speaker 1The scruffies . I don't want them since .
Speaker 3You know what I mean .
Speaker 1I walk in there 30 minutes later , you putting bread on my table . No , that's a problem , you get me .
Speaker 6Yeah .
Speaker 1So it's those things that actually go into it . I think that we all tip , but at the end of the day , though , I'm not going to say we all tip . No well , this is the thing , though I want . I'm not , but we're also not going to bear the weight of the rest of our industry not taking care to people that they hire Right right , right right . Yeah , because that's what it is . There's a lot of people in the service industry that aren't even allowed to take tips .
Speaker 1That's crazy , you understand , like you going to some Dunkin' Donuts and and I keep saying New York , but that's where I'm from , so it's only that's all I can speak to but you go in there . Some of them are half tip jaws and others they're not allowed to have tip jaws , so they'll do something like , do something crazy for you when you , you know , want to tip them there , yeah Right . So even in the restaurant industry , I don't I feel bad . Don't feel bad about people not getting tips because the owners shouldn't follow on me . First of all , the price point . You know I don't factor in your tip when I'm looking at the menu . No , you understand , I'm saying I'm not doing that . It only hits me later when I'm like why do you have to be so good ? Yeah , what does that
Speaker 4stand for Again . I need to keep that in mind .
Speaker 1To ensure professionalism .
Speaker 4That was good . Thank you , no worries .
Speaker 1No worries .
So overall I think they're a strong four and a half .
Speaker 6Yeah , I'll say it probably on average sound like one and a half .
Speaker 1Yeah , I'm sorry about that three . It was the three that brought you to a four and a half . That three fucked you up . Oh and well , we got one NA as well , and we got a four because this dude is nobodies , perfect .
Speaker 6Yeah , I just made the four of you hit this cut .
Speaker 1Yeah , I did , I gave it just because Paul , yeah , so we're going to do the four and the half , but at this point , though , I think now it's time for us to get to the segment that I tried to get to earlier , but I fucked up the whole . You would have missed all of this good shit . I hope y'all turn this shit back on after y'all was like fuck them . Disorganized motherfuckers . But hold on , let's get to the shit though .
Speaker 5The next shit rather Main course , it's time to eat what's on your mind .
Speaker 1All right , so here is where Ryan brings us in , because this was his topic and you know we're going to flesh this out . It's financial literacy or emotional .
Speaker 6Yeah , well , you just say financial literacy is fine . Just how comfortable are you just talking about finances and just in general ? You know , when I say in general , maybe you come across under like a small group of people at a party or something and I don't know . Maybe somebody was like , oh , did anybody , do you know , check the stock market ? Or how's your you know anybody thought about investing in real estate , things like that . Or just just in general , like how comfortable are you talking about money if it's brought up in general conversations ? And also , which I think is a little bit more important , how comfortable are you talking about finance with your partner ? You know , I feel like that's one of those things where you know it's just like . You know everything else is fun to talk about , whether it's intimacy , date nights , this and the third but you never really , even on podcasts or television shows , really you never really see anybody be like all right , if we're going to , I don't know , shack up together , if we're going to get married , what are your finances looking like ? What's your debt to ? You know debt to income ratio look like ? Do you have a decent credit score ? You really don't really don't hear anything about that and I really feel like , especially maybe not everybody , but I do feel like you know , I feel like some people of color are just afraid of talking about it .
Speaker 6And just a very , very quick personal example . We can go around the room . I got some , some stats , we can look up stuff like that . But just a very quick , personal example . When me and my wife first got married , you know we weren't on the same financial goals and every time I would try to bring it up , you know , just to be like , hey , you know , I feel like we need to cut back on such a credit card . You know we need to start saving this .
Speaker 6Like she would kind of like you know , kind of change topics , like I kind of . Just like you know , shrink , shrink when it comes to the top , because she wasn't , she wasn't used to that type of conversation . You know , and you know , perhaps maybe didn't have that conversation growing up or whatever the case may be . It's just , and I feel like that's a conversation . We're on the same page now , but it took a while for us to get there and I felt like that's a very important thing . I don't think a lot of couples really talk about it , or if they do talk about it . It's too late . And my point exactly according to the Forbes . According to Forbes , financial problems are like one of the top five reasons for for the , for divorce .
Speaker 4I've already talked . Yeah , yeah .
Speaker 6Some sources may say top , but at least what I checked , at least top five you know , depending where you , you know , get your sources from . So so , yeah , that's what I would like to just talk about . Like you know , you know lamp . I know like you were married , for example , how comfortable is that ? What was that topic ? Or even in your current day , like if you take someone seriously , how important or comfortable is that talking to your partner about it ?
Speaker 4Well , when I was married it was . It was very important and I can be transparent my wife had to type me up and spend it . So now , dating it's important . Let me say that it's important , but we not . It's only important when I needed to be important , like we only . We're only going on a couple of dates . I don't care what your credit score is . It could be great , it could be terrible . We're not going to stick around to find out anyway .
Speaker 4So , it just depends . If we start getting serious , then you know we can start talking about credit and you know how we can improve and all this stuff . So yeah that's going to get important to me . When it's serious , like I'm just we just on to a movie getting something to eat , I would be honest .
Speaker 4I don't care , but if there's somebody that you're taking seriously , once again , that's when it's yeah , that's when it's Matter of fact you'll probably know , because I'm going to start asking some different questions , just to get the date , I don't want to say the number , because I done been on that number Some of the potentials are going to be listened like .
Speaker 6Oh , we went on dating number four .
Speaker 2He ain't asked me that shit , I must not be the one .
Speaker 4I've been on it . It's a person . It was not a person . It's a woman I've been on about seven dates with , still didn't get to that conversation , so that's why he put us number one .
Speaker 1I don't know , he's a podcast , I don't know .
Speaker 3But yeah , it's important .
Speaker 4It's important when it needs to be . Got you .
Speaker 6Got you ? How about you ? Well , and that's another thing , it's almost I don't want . Has anybody seen the movie Heartbreak Kid with Ben Stiller ?
Speaker 6Not a year ago , oh I haven't , yeah , but there was one hilarious part of the movie that I feel like is kind of relevant . Long story short . He meets the woman of his dreams , gets married off a whim and before they get married he finds out that she works for the Marine Biologist stuff , like that . At some point in the movie he's like , hey , when we get back from this honeymoon , we got to combine our finances . We got to do this in the third . And she's like you know , combine what finances ? And she was like you said you were a Marine Biologist , right . And she's like no , I said I volunteered for the Marine Biologist . I don't make no money , and so if anybody's seen it , they know exactly what I'm talking about .
Speaker 6So don't be no Heartbreak Kid out here .
Speaker 1Yo , that's crazy , that's crazy .
Speaker 4Yeah , you're making me go watch that movie .
Speaker 6So what about you ?
Speaker 1Sal . Okay , so for me it was , of course , just like anybody else . I identified with the whole financial issue Okay , you know we have conversations about it you know as far as building and stuff like that and also identified with the fact that a lot of people , as far as the way that I was raised in a financial space is like , you know , that's like very close to the vest type of information you know , and like I'm breaking out of that because we've been married three years . This is our third .
Speaker 1It's our third year . Okay , our anniversary is coming up on the 25th of March .
Speaker 4All right , all right , I'll let you
know that , bro .
Speaker 1Yeah , now listen , I pay attention to everything I love . I like that how you call it . So like , for instance , we just literally just had a conversation about my W-2s . You know , not a deep conversation . I'm sure , like after this podcast , we'll have a further conversation , but for me , walking into it , I'm transparent now at this point . If she asked me a question , this is what it is .
Speaker 1This is what we're doing , this is what I have , this is what I've done . You know , when I speak to Lambs Point , as far as like tightening up , this is my anchor , like this is my anchor , you know , I don't make chump change , but I also don't see it either .
Speaker 1You know what I'm saying , right , thanks , like Uncle Sam , right , yeah I don't , I don't see it , you know , and I think what's important for me is that we have a plan . You know , what's important for me is that we actually have discipline , you know , because discipline is going to basically help us execute that plan . So that's that , to me , is important , on top of the finances , because , again , it's just like any other business that you run . You know , one of the biggest financial steps that we took forward was when I started the podcast . I thought I was taking it serious . I'm like yo , I'm in this thing . You know , three years in , I'm good .
Speaker 1And she was like I'm proud of you one day , out of the blue , I'm proud of you , I'm like why ? And she was like , because you stuck with it , like you know , and a lot of times she wasn't engaged with it , you know , it was just like ah , you got the podcast , you know doing whatever , whatever . And if I wanted her to listen to something , I would have to tell her I need you to listen to X , y and Z and send it to her , which didn't bother me , because everybody has the only thing yeah , um , but that Christmas what she did was she got an LLC for the company .
Speaker 1She was like go be serious Like you . You serious , this is good , this is what you're doing . You know step one and then step two . You know um her coming on as the co-host . Yeah .
Speaker 3You know , it wasn't like yo . I think I need you now .
Speaker 1And she was like listen , we're going to solve all the problems , that's what we're going to do . I'm going to be the co-host , that's that . That's awesome , that's good . You know . So again , for me , we we definitely need to have more financial conversations , because then there's growth .
Speaker 5You get what I'm saying we get to grow from it .
Speaker 1Because if I'm making a mistake and constantly hitting that wall and not saying anything . That's crazy , Right , you know that's crazy . She sees where the she sees where the break goes , though . Okay , it's not one of those things I'm not a frivolous spinner but at the same time , though it you know it's not always going to the places it needs to go , gotcha .
Speaker 4In a timely manner . Gotcha , gotcha , I'm telling the same .
Speaker 3It's good to have that second eye .
Speaker 4Yeah , it is , I'm going to tell the story . I don't drink , I don't smoke , but I do gamble . Okay .
Speaker 1All right Fando .
Speaker 4Fando kicked me off . That's the story .
Speaker 3Did you ?
Speaker 6Oh yeah , that's another episode right there , so at one point like I was doing some .
Speaker 4I was betting on some stuff on , on doing some batting , and I kept making cash withdrawals . And my wife was like , why you keep taking all this cash out ? And I was like , oh , I made some bets . If she looked like are you , are you monitoring this ? Like , do you see what you spent ? And I'm like I spent like $700 .
Speaker 3Yeah , holy yeah and .
Speaker 4I was like , damn , all right . Well , I guess the budget , the gambling budget , been blown . So it may be that . But from that day on , look , you know , everybody got the advice . But you can't , you can't lose control of it . And at that point I would say I lost control of it , but I wasn't that $700 on gambling is too much . So at that moment I had that . What was the time spent for that ? It was like 700 over what Like two months .
Speaker 6That's still too much . Yeah , you talking about 350 for the total of two months . Yeah , that's still a lot . That's still a lot Because you're not you're not going to see that back .
Speaker 4Yeah , look , she only saw it because I was losing , right ? So if I was winning with the big deal , but if you lose 700 odds in two months ?
Speaker 1Yeah , but you had a gambling problem . So that means that she wouldn't even seen it if you won , because you're not putting that back into the bank . A lot of people with problems , what they do is like that bankroll I'm not speaking from experience that bankroll is it stays there and then that whittles down , and then you go back to the bank and you bring money over .
Speaker 4So here's a problem with this . Here's the thing when you win money gambling right yeah , when you win money gambling , you usually spend it on something that's frivolous , like I don't know people who's win money gambling and they go open the Savings account right they go buy some new shoes , yeah , or some new clothes , yeah you . You got this money doing dumb shit because gambling is dumb , yeah , so you got it doing dumb shit so that's what you about to do . Go do some dumb shit with the money you want .
Speaker 1I got a I have a story to piggyback off of that . What we did was like during the whole covid situation and stuff like that , right , I got in the day training just like everybody else you know , so we just invest in the stuff , and I jumped on the whole .
Speaker 1Um , I was in Dallas when game stop did what it did . Oh Wow . But I was in Dallas and that was when everything qualified and I was like hold on , let me look a little closer into this right . And then they started talking about amc . Was you know do for a short squeeze as well , which it did squeeze a couple of times . But so I jumped into that right . I have five grand , and this is this is one of the things that I deeply regret . I don't think that I've ever told you I jumped in , I had five grand right and I was like your bed , listen , x1z is happening like we would have Conversations about this stock and to the point where it was like I know in our heads she was like this thing , it's a fucking stock analyst , you know , because I was , I was doing that much research on it because you asked me a question .
Speaker 1I'm like I got an answer you know , youtube university .
Speaker 1But we went from five grand . We were at uh 12 , right from 12 . So now we seven up Right from seven . We jumped to around 19 , right , yeah , um , we got as high as 29 . Amc did a reverse on stock split Uh , right , so it was like 10 to one or something like that reverse stock split and we lost everything , so to speak , to um , that whole thing , the , the gambling thing and stuff like that . This is where , once again , it pays to have , because I didn't , we didn't have like those conversations . We had conversations when we were winning . I'm like well , we is now sending screenshots and everything . Look , this is where it's at . Well , boom , we good . And then , in hindsight , that was my house down payment . That was , that was us being under one roof , not her in Dallas and me in new york .
Speaker 1You get what I'm saying in hindsight , yeah in hindsight , I'm a lot wiser now , a lot more Transparent now you know , especially if , if I have an idea to do something , first thing I'll do is like listen what you think about this .
Speaker 1Yeah , like this is what I'm doing , like I was pretty good with the whole day trading thing , right , so now I'm studying how to trade futures and stuff like that , because everybody else is on , not crypto . Um , they're doing Help me out , um , bitcoin or something , not Bitcoin . So it's not crypto , it's not bitcoin . They're doing the trading currency Blockchain , not blockchain . It's gonna come to me .
Speaker 6All right , I'm just going around the table . It was like your turn we're gonna be here .
Speaker 1I don't know and to the financial literacy point . We're all fucking stupid . No , um , and it's , it's , it's actually um you're not talking about nft or anything , right ? No , Nft is another skin .
Speaker 4Yeah like it's exciting . We sell too much more to throw that out there .
Speaker 1Yeah , true . No , they're doing um God damn it . Anyway , it'll come to me and it's probably somebody listening screaming at the fucking speaker right now Like stupid it's .
Speaker 2As you know , right right , right .
Speaker 1But you know , doing that whole thing , but that's what I'm moving into now , you know . And then , of course , open up trying to get multiple streams of revenue popping um , but in Criminally . And I think what happens with a lot of motherfuckers is that they jump out the window and they're like they want , they want the money overnight and you can't get the money overnight . You can , you can , but of course it's a gamble . Right , it is yeah , because if you don't make that first , flip you down bad .
Speaker 1Yeah you know , um . So again , she's . She's my anchor in a lot of ways and to speak to your points , you know , speaking to your spouse about finances and stuff like that is is super important , you know , and she knows how hard I work . I want my speaking for you . Oh , yeah , please .
Speaker 2Oh no , um no , I was just gonna say , I mean , it's never for me , it's never been a conversation like , especially when dating or you know , like years ago , things like that , like it's never just really been a conversation as far as you know finances and you know creative scores and that whole thing
. But now , um , of course , at this old age of mine and and being married to this guy over here , um , you know , I think I mean of course it's , it's important you know before marriage , you know Definitely before marriage , to kind of get an idea of you know , of how you know the person that you're gonna spend the rest of your life with . You know , like , how well they spend money .
Speaker 2How you know they're crazy like you want to know these things because , again , like you said , I mean finances is one of the top reasons for divorce . So , um , but yeah , like I said , but I just never had those conversations before prior . Okay like .
Speaker 2But but for me , I've always felt like I've managed my money well , um , always , you know , to carry the bills and things like that before I've , you know Like , bought myself anything or did anything , for you know like I always made sure you know things were taken care of . So for me , uh , money management is definitely important . Um , credit scores , all that good stuff , especially now you know , right , but , um , but yeah .
Speaker 2So I mean , I definitely think it's , you know , when dating , definitely talk about it , especially when you know that it's going to be something more , or you are lending , you know , going into that whole marriage conversation absolutely , absolutely so when , uh , you know , because I think that's another thing , that's kind of scary too , like it can .
Speaker 6It can be an awkward , scary conversation , especially if you don't feel that confident In your credit score to to share with your work can be embarrassing .
Speaker 6Yeah , more so embarrassing yeah and I , you know , like I said , I think that's what a lot of people you know it's fearful , fearful , fearful of , um , but I think that's the whole point of you might as well have that conversation if you're serious about somebody , as opposed to having it after the fact of marriage . I mean , granted , yeah , like I said , I didn't have that conversation before we got married . You know that that financial conversation came after I started . You know , you know , notice , like you know , we just started looking at credit card bills together and stuff like that , and even still , you know , like I said , it was an awkward . It had it had to be a few number of awkward conversations before we actually Came up with some type of a plan to really get things back in order . You know what I'm saying and so , um , you know . So , with getting things back in order , has anybody , anybody this panel ever considered , like you know , find out to advisor for help or anything else like that ?
Speaker 1or yeah , um , I think on two occasions . Okay , that I've , you know , I've done it , and then again like that whole , that whole thing . Another thing that takes discipline yeah , you know with regards to like you know , you go in there , you dump all your shit on the table and you try to sort through it you know , and then the plan that they come up with it's like oh so you just want me to be a slave forever , like All right .
Speaker 1So you know , we milk in in cookies the rest of my fucking life , you know , um , but again , in my old age , there are things that are necessary , you know which . You know I had an epiphany , you know , and I um probably have this discussion with you guys off cam and just to speak to my camera I mean my character but had an epiphany and it was like yo , life is about Sacrifices .
Speaker 1Yeah , you understand , and what are you going to sacrifice for what you want , you know , and then after that , like there are a lot of different intricacies , things that actually go with this , you know , sacrifices , um , putting together a good plan , a sound plan , you know , and that sound plan only has to be agreeable to yourself and probably one or two other people .
Speaker 1Yeah just to make sure that they're fact checking your work . You understand , um , and then the whole execution part of you know . You got to be Ready to hit the streets and go make it happen , you know , and damn .
Speaker 1And then you just need you , you need that , you need that , um , that security blanket in the form of a cheerleader , okay . And when I say that is this , there's gonna be a lot of hard nights , a lot of terrible fucking days when you're just gonna be like I don't want to put another fucking penny in the bank yeah , you know what I mean Like it's not , it's not serving me and it's just that person , you know , that's gonna come through and just be like , oh , you're doing the right thing .
Speaker 1Because , this is what's gonna happen . You can't see . You know you can't see tomorrow , but I've already took a trip there . Yeah , right , right , and this is what it's looking like . Yeah you get what I'm saying and just have that so that you know . Because once you get over that hump , it's just that one home . Yeah , because once you get over the hump , you've already developed a discipline to actually be able to save and and do the things that are necessary to maintain that Right , because if you do anything else you're an asshole .
Speaker 6Yeah . Yeah , that's true . Like you said , I think Once you get over that one hump , it's just a matter of just continuing those good habits like like , for example , if you it might sound simple to some people , but like you know , if you eat out , you know for four days out of , for four out of the five work , work , you know workdays
.
Speaker 1Maybe you cut that back a little bit you know , or all the ways to do it right , yeah , you don't have to eat out . We just the matter . Convenience consumes us , yeah , yeah .
Speaker 6Yeah , yeah . How about you just take an extra 30 minutes , cook yourself up a meal instead of going out in the weekends ? Maybe stay behind home . Just just make it a date night at a crib , netflix and chill . But , uh , we brought up a financial advisor . Um , I know I came across this article on Edward Jones and it was talking about like the top eight reasons why you should at least consider getting a Financial advisor . I'm not gonna go through all eight . We can post the link in the description at some point , but , like I don't , one of the main , the top three reasons that stood out for me .
Speaker 6Um , one , I think the more more obvious reason is , um , just long-term planning . You know whether that be helping you out with retirement . Maybe you want to go on a . You know Even something that could be for yourself . I know you guys have been made for three years . Maybe you want to do some long-term planning so you can have . You could do a big for your 10-year anniversary , right , and you don't have to rely on dropping 10 bands on a credit card because you've been saving up for the next seven years in your marriage .
Speaker 6Um , the second reason I know they said like you can just try to , just to help you hone other things , like maybe it can help you with , you know , like your stock store you told , or your day trading . You know it could actually even give you advice on that , which I wasn't aware of . I thought it was just a place where you can just they just help you save money and maybe cut costs somewhere else . But there are some financial advisors who can help you with the day trading things , so you may not have to carry that burden on your own . But the biggest thing , you know once again , I'm only give three , will post the rest on the description it's just a plan for the uh , the unpredictable .
Speaker 6You know you plan for the unplanned thing . I know We'll get into the topic later about adulting and stuff like that , but it always seems like whenever I got my bills in order , whenever I got a good groove , card trouble , daughter got go to the emergency room , your daughter needs braces now . Just something always comes up once you get in a good groove . But if you at least have a financial advisor or at least have some type of good habits or , as you say , styles , get over the hump and just develop good habits of saving and being more , more Conscious with your money , maybe you could prepare for that unpredictable . So that's you know . I just want to share those two bits with the financial advisor .
Speaker 6You know I mean you're absolutely right , especially .
Speaker 1For the unpredictable ? Yeah , right , because , like I said , we live in two different states . Right and we've . We've had to make it work . Um , you know , it can be a strain of times financially , but my daughter got sick , right , and I didn't know and when I you know , I mean when she had told me that she had gotten sick I had to hop on a flight the next day , right , and that's costly . Yeah , you get what I'm saying to go out there and make sure everything is good .
Speaker 1But again , if I didn't have the extra bread to you know to do that because that flight was Again right , right next day type of um action that had been crazy , yeah , and then I got my money back , and I got my money back and and those are the some of the things that I guess instills the discipline in me Um , along with warranted , you know , the motivation and everything because of the fact that those are the things you want to make sure that you're there for .
Speaker 1You understand I'm saying so . I mean it's rough . But Getting back to what you were saying yeah , absolutely , like you know , sometimes you do need professional help .
Speaker 6Yeah , sometimes you know it's no shame and ask for professional help . I think I didn't see that in the uh in the list when I read the article . But Kind of brings me to the next thing in terms of seeking help . One of the things that I am afraid of , and perhaps ironically enough , I'm talking about financial advisors , and Sometimes it can't be costly to at least get a financial advisor . But , um , ironically enough , one of the things I'm kind of scared of is actually , you know , truly , trying to find out what to invest in . Like there's so many scams going on . You got DJ ambient and Caesar with the real estate scam . You got , um , Like I know , uh , I think it's jake paul , one of the paul brothers . They was getting a lot of a lot of flak for the nft scam . There's this guy named bitcoin riding . He had , like some some some crypto currency scam . He just got arrested the other day .
Speaker 6Yeah , that's what I'm saying , so yeah , so uh , you know , and of course everybody remembers the the all-time famous Um , you know , burning made-off . You know , can I ?
Speaker 1jump in real quick . Please do so the burning made-off thing is is Funny and ironic at the same time . No how so because the government is a Ponzi scheme . So it's not he's just the one that they singled out , and they were like you know what ? You can't do what we're doing .
Speaker 3It's you know and these are .
Speaker 1These are things that you know . Of course it's a deeper discussion and of course you want to have it with somebody that has you know , that knows a lot more history as far as that's concerned . But the government is a Ponzi scheme . They're washing money every fucking day and I'm gonna say this and I'm gonna leave it alone . I promise you , but you don't wake up and then send Five billion dollars to a foreign country , but you can't do anything here . Right right .
Speaker 1It gets stuck in legislation and all his other stuff , but we can wake up and send five billion dollars somewhere . Yeah so it's not again Bernie . Bernie was only doing what everybody else is doing and that's not even to say that maybe riding is doing the same shit . You know crypto riding .
Speaker 6Yeah right .
Speaker 1Oh , maybe he was . He was doing the same shit , we could have been , you know and oh , and the thing that I was trying to remember earlier , it's forex .
Speaker 6Okay for it .
Speaker 1For it when you trade currencies and stuff like that , and forex isn't a scam . Okay , it's not , excuse me . What happens is the people that actually get involved .
Speaker 3Auto scammers .
Speaker 1Auto scammers and then what they do is they like I'm gonna take , they turn into a pyramid scheme . So you go , get all of these people Right and you sign them up under me , and then somebody else , ultimately , is doing a trade , but you're funding this trade , but you're not actually getting the money from it .
Speaker 6Yeah .
Speaker 1So and I've had that issue with forex because when you look at it fundamentally , it's not . It's not a scam , it's just that where do you get the information to learn to actually do it ? Okay ? I got you and all of these people , and I don't want anybody to get swept up into that , because there's a lot of these young kids jumping online and like yo , look at this . I'm just made like Excuse me $10,000 in like seven minutes Hold on though .
Speaker 1This is the thing , not impossible , but you got to understand that these kids are starting with capital . You don't have it .
Speaker 3You understand .
Speaker 1I'm saying so if you think that you gonna put $10 into a trading account and you gonna hit a home run and make seven grand in eight minutes .
Speaker 1Yeah , you got your mind , it's not gonna happen because you don't even know what you're doing . Right , you don't know how to read candles . You don't know how to . You don't know how to momentum trade . You don't know how to do any of that stuff . You don't know whether you know what they're posting was based off of news Right or based off of um , an earnings report . You don't know any of that stuff , but yet , and still , this is what you know and yeah , but that's a whole other , different part of marketing .
Speaker 1That's instagram page mark .
Speaker 6Yeah .
Speaker 4Yeah right , right .
Speaker 1We feel we're like yo , we're gonna do this and it . You know I'm with the motivational speakers Because you can't sell me or you're gonna sell me . On me , I can do it .
Speaker 3You are the best you know .
Speaker 1God broke the bone when he made you .
Speaker 3I'm for that .
Speaker 1I'm not with . Uh , you know , for me I get gassed up off of the same ones . Y'all see where people are like , yeah , so you make x , y and z off of . Then I go look at the fundamentals of it and I'm like , yeah , it's absolutely possible . But I don't fool myself and I realize that you need capital in order to do x , y and z .
Speaker 1And if you jump in and you don't know what you're doing , even with that cap , you're gonna lose it on you back to square one . Okay , you get me . So that's where I'm at with that as far , because I know that on here you did have something about scams and schemes and stuff like that .
Speaker 6Yeah , so but that . But I guess you kind of answered the question . That's how you kind of Maneuvia way around Said scams like you actually do your own , of course , do your own homework .
Speaker 1It's hard because where you getting the information from ? Yeah , where you're gonna go and who do you trust enough to tell you about ? For a rex ?
Speaker 4I don't know anybody's scamming you giving you the information ? Yeah , exactly , and they be in my DMs all the time .
Speaker 6Yeah , yeah . All the time I'm like wait a minute , what Don't you want to be like this ? I got some new friends .
Speaker 2They just are following me . I'm like , oh , okay poor experience .
Speaker 1Yeah , between them and come see my page . I get naked , oh yeah .
Speaker 6Yeah , that's what every time I post it .
Speaker 1Nah , I don't mess with Dobby Pistole . They be fucking up my algorithm .
Speaker 6Every time I post a story , I got at least one of those spam things that that just at least looked at the story . I'm like I didn't even ask for you . But yeah , I get those all the time , bro , and I'll be like yo you be fucking my , my ego and my numbers up .
Speaker 2Yeah , I'll be like yo , I got like 50 bills and like 30 of them is fucking .
Speaker 1Come to my page , I get naked .
Speaker 6So , so , like Lambo or Shade Rouge or anything like , how do you kind of protect yourself from a scam ? If you thought about what else can I do with money to , to , to invest or anything like that , has there been anything that y'all've done to try to Protect yourself ? Or you just be like , look , I'm not familiar with it , so I ain't rocking with it .
Speaker 4And that's just an instance . If I don't , if I don't know it , true .
Speaker 2Yeah , for me I think everything is a scam , so I don't really engage . But um , but one thing I did I definitely look at more into investments , um , and and stocks . I think that's the safest way , and so I'll do research and kind of see like who the fag is To follow regarding you know that , but everything else is a scam , what I feel like . So , yeah , I don't really .
Participate , going to look for information in this in the form of a blog .
Speaker 1It's funny is because I started getting into stocks , I started taking a lot of master classes because you know , of course that's . That's how we all stumbled into it . You know we're all like I cool Stocks , think it's like you start getting the gas up videos Like word . I could do that over that .
Speaker 1You know , and I could do you know , then when you jump into it , they're like , yeah , just send me 499 , I'm gonna send you this newsletter , and then you have to get the newsletter . It's like yeah , so you want to be part of this , this , this , this , uh , what you call it groups . So once you get in my telegram and you know , start doing . I've never done any of that , thank you . No that's not . That's not where my money is going , you know and um , yeah , no , it's .
Speaker 1It's difficult out here to to make sure you know . It's difficult out here to vet the people that you're actually getting the information from because , remember , you're walking into the situation ignorant . So how do I know that what you're saying is not true ?
Speaker 2Yeah , you're right , you've got a research for yourself . Yeah , you never got research .
Speaker 6And I think that's the safest way , just like what you see , uh , sadra and and styles , all three racks , I think the safest thing that I do . I've just been paying more attention to stocks , you know . Like you know , I have some stuff in in apple , amazon here . I tried to diversify and that's about as far as I got like artists , I think . That's another thing that I think people are afraid to admit . They're afraid to really say I don't really know . Like , like , when the whole nft thing went , went , you know , went , boom , I remember my cousin he's . He was very knowledgeable about the whole cryptocurrency thing and I wanted him to sit down and explain it to me and I still didn't do it because it was . You might as well explain Chinese calculus . I didn't know anything about the blockchain and this and the third and making your own crowds like I Thank you , but I'm cool with just at the most , investing in stocks . So and that's another thing .
Speaker 1I mean I'm looking at the uh , the technical revolution . You know , I think this is all like like our second round of this , because , remember , the first one was the internet boom , right when they started investing in all these internet companies and it was like a you know a bubble and it burst eventually and they stopped doing all these ipos for these companies . Um , and if he's in crypto , it's the other thing . They're still not using crypto as regular currency .
Speaker 1Yeah so like for me , and the problem that I have with it is like , if it's not used as regular currency , where's the value ? And so that's what makes it hard to invest , because you never know . Are you buying a dip ?
Speaker 6Yeah , right . Or are you buying a peak ?
Speaker 1Yeah , and it's so volatile that way , yeah , yeah , just don't know , you know , and it's , it's crazy , so , um , but I plan on getting into it . So again , like I said , if you slow , walk into it , you good , you know . So if you don't just jump out there , you'll be like yo , Dogecoin is going to do x , y and z now really take my money yeah but if dogecoin is six cents , you can have my money you know what I mean .
Speaker 1Like it's six cents , let's do it , because I jumped into those when those was six cents and shot up to nearly a damn dollar , you know . But then it tank Okay . So like , are you buying the dip ?
Speaker 6You don't know buying the peak , right , right , you know , yeah , so , and I think , like just the last thing on top of the whole thing of Scan , I know they are seeing it . I think it was seeing in um , I forget the source , but I know there was like a top eight Um scammers in the in America . Um , of course , you have Ponzi um Himself . I think his name is Charles Ponzi . Um , I think that was back in uh 1920 , and so it's not a lot . Well , it's a lot to me now to this day , but even back in 1920 he was um , the most he scanned people was like like 15 million . So think about how , back then , you know , you know that's like billions .
Speaker 3Yeah .
Speaker 6Right . So I won't get into the details of need for the sake of time and so forth , but we'll put it in the description as well . You have Lou Perlman . I think that was back in the 90s , if I'm not mistaken oh sorry , 2005 . He , uh , I think the biggest his positive scheme got before he got caught was 300 mil . Um , we have Gerald Payne at 448 mil . That was in the 1990s . That's what I got confused about , but there's like eight of them . So I once again , I don't . I don't know if it's necessary to read through the whole list , but you know there's a whole , a long history of people who just got , got got . Well , let me interrupt you .
Speaker 4How much jail time did it ?
Speaker 6Well , um , maybe most people , mostly people , did get like considerable amount of jail time , like , for example , bernie I think he got life , yeah and like and Bernie , he wasn't even like the highest on this list in terms of the money that he scanned . I don't think you know .
Speaker 1I'm saying and it's the thing with the Bernie thing if you really want to Take a deep dive into it . You know , or even just you know , Hit the surface . There's a couple of documentaries out and a couple of series out with um Bernie .
Speaker 4Oh yeah , I was gonna say for a couple years and a couple hundred millions , I might sit .
Speaker 3Yeah .
Speaker 6I did have that wrong , bernie . Actually he , uh , his uh balloon was up to 20 billion before he got caught .
Speaker 3Yeah , your Bernie was turning niggas 20 Out so he might be the highest on this list .
Speaker 4Yeah , he got some famous people .
Speaker 1Yeah , yeah , he got people for real he was killing them . Um , but yeah , now he . I think I bugged out when I heard you know , because everybody's like Ponzi scheme , they're like , oh , fraud . I didn't know until recently , just like you , that the Ponzi was the name of the dude that actually first did it . Yeah , back in 19 .
Speaker 4I didn't know that until you just read .
Speaker 6That's crazy , yeah , charles Ponzi . So yeah , I appreciate you . Let me uh share that segment there .
Speaker 1No , it was . It was dope , um again , I'm just a recap . You know , um , um , financial literacy is important Absolutely . You know , if you have to spend money , think about it like this think about spending money , that's an investment . You know , that's definitely an investment . Um , having to open and honest conversations about you know finances with your spouse Um , not your girlfriend with your spouse is important . You know , because with your girlfriend , what's happening is she's just picking up on the context , clues anyway , how you spending your money and stuff like that , just from the outset and then after you know you guys are going to be serious , not before , you know , not after you jump the broom , whatever , have that conversation . Um , you guys have anything else to add to that ?
Speaker 6Well , I will add this Um , I don't think it's . I think it's very important to teach financial literacy if you have kids see your kids , because I don't really you know , I've been out of school since for a long time I highly doubt that they're actually having like a specific financial literacy class , right ? So I think if you have children , no matter how old , try to instill in them some type of financial literacy , yeah .
Okay , so , um , let's see if I can locate the right fucking body . Bay night , sexy nights and good food . All right . So Normally we would talk about live because limbs outside , lims outside getting a suntan Right or standing in in his , in his window , you know , with a cup of .
Speaker 6Cup of joe .
Speaker 3Yeah , I was gonna say joe , you don't drink coffee , no , I chocolate .
Speaker 1What warm beverage , nigga ? You can't be consuming water solely . I've refused to fucking believe that I drink .
Speaker 4I drink a lot of sugary drinks tea .
Speaker 1Oh , okay , so you drink tea full of shit .
Speaker 4Yeah , I got you now .
Speaker 1He's tea is you know ? I guess a little man on the toe told him poll . As far as bullshit , I'm sorry , but all right . Um , so , in honor Of land being outside right , what we have is we have . I've comprised , not me , I've been comprised , shit . I actually got this off the internet , um , but there's , uh , what is it ? Here are 10 common rules to keep in mind for a first date for men . Man , you want to read that ? Yeah , let's go through the . We're gonna start with 10 rules , the 10 rules .
Speaker 6Yeah , shoot , I'm curious to see what , uh what , he thinks about some of these 10 rules .
Speaker 3Like as far as you know , first date .
Speaker 6Uh , etiquette . I you know I've been way out , that guy .
Speaker 4So we starting with the man , right Starting with the man .

Speaker 4Why would you waste ?
Speaker 1my time on this .

Speaker 1the Jesus really rise on the third day and you know he's gonna find that out when he get married . Be like who the fuck did I marry ?
Speaker 4But that's a conversation you would have before you get that far like . So these are because remind you , didn't ask me none of those , because you gotta remember this is first date . Speaker 1No , no , no , no , no . Okay , go ahead . Why is it interesting ? Because I was a little confused about it , so I don't .
Speaker 4So If the bill hits the table , right , I asked you out .
Speaker 1Okay , so you gonna fight her . She says that I'm not gonna fight her , but it's like I'm up .
Speaker 4Okay , it's gonna . I'm kinda looking like well , what kind of man you used to dealing with . Were you sitting there when I just said ? I'm paying it . Right , like just say thank you , like we don't need all this other shit , okay .
Speaker 1Thank you was good enough , all right , which is fine , and I'm with that , but I think that you have to , you have to be comfortable with the fact that she was like you know , definitely give her some pushback . Well , we know that you're not . Yeah , no , we're not , relax , relax .
Speaker 4I don't even know why you .
Speaker 2I think you should let her experience To me .
Speaker 4it's because to me it's like look , all you're exhibiting is your trauma dating . I don't wanna deal with that .
Speaker 1Look , I got it okay , I already picked the place . Somebody done left the restaurant on you before huh Nah .
Speaker 4Oh you showed up without money before huh . Yeah , I'm like , look like , I asked you to go . Yeah , yeah , I work . I work 40 hours a week .
Speaker 1Yeah , like stop disrespecting me .
Speaker 4I'm a man , it's okay , like , if I take you , I don't , I'm not gonna take you somewhere , right when I'm gonna be sweating when the bill comes .
Speaker 1It's okay , that's a fact . That's a fact . You wanna take these 50 cent francs .
Speaker 4Yeah , like I'm , not we not going to the best steakhouse in the city ? Is this the first date ? You might not like me , I might not like you . It's the first date .
Speaker 1Let me ask you a question Now . I'm gonna let you continue , but has there ever been a time where you seen somebody that you would break that first date rule and take them to the steakhouse ? No , okay , I'm just asking .
Speaker 4Absolutely not .
Speaker 1I'm just asking , we just trying to build your tender profile and make sure it's right , my message is right If you can tell me a reason that she deserves a steak date . I'm interested , but you can't . It's a steak date .
Speaker 4So keep your phone away . Give your full attention to your date and avoid distractions . Keep your phone on silent or in your pocket . Okay , I agree , be yourself , don't cut biscuits . I'm just kidding .
Speaker 2I'm just kidding , I'm just kidding , I'm just kidding , I'm just kidding . Thank you , bougie .
Speaker 6Wow , I love it Wow .
Speaker 1I wasn't ready .
Speaker 4Be authentic and genuine . Don't try to impress your date by I pretend to be so . Just got your date all over style .

Speaker 4Don't try to impress your date , but I pretended to be someone you're not . And number 10 , follow up . If you had a good time , consider sending a text or calling to expression enjoyment and interest in seeing them again . I love it . Remember these rules are more like guidelines and it's essential to be a . And it's essential . Let me start over . Remember these rules are more like guidelines and it's essential to be adaptable and considerate of your date's preferences and comfort level .
Speaker 1All right , I feel like somebody Fanella wrote that . Who wrote it ?
Speaker 4Fanella Do you disagree with , but it's a good list . No , I'm not saying it is . It's a good list . Yeah , it's a great list . It's a good list .
Speaker 6Yeah , it's a good common sense list , Like yeah , well , what's common sense to something may not be common sense to everybody . I was just about to say the whole common sense thing , but I'm glad that you grabbed it .
Speaker 1Yeah , for sure . Pause .
Speaker 3Interesting .
Speaker 1Go ahead Now rock out with the women . All right , let's go with the women All right .
Speaker 2So , number one dress comfortably and confidently . Wear something that makes you feel good about yourself . So definitely agree with that , always going to dress comfortable . Be punctual , show respect for your date's time , arriving on time or a few minutes early . Engage in conversation . Take on an I mean take an active role in the conversation , share your thoughts and ask questions to get to know your date better . But we're not talking about politics and religion , though , so don't worry about that .
Speaker 3I was just .
Speaker 2We're not what I was just Not on the first date the first date is going to be fun .
Speaker 3Let's just have a good time , let's just you know .
Speaker 2All right , Be yourself . Don't feel pressured to pretend to be someone you're not . Be authentic and genuine . Number five practice good hygiene . Make sure you're clean , fresh and well-groomed . Pay attention to your personal hygiene , including fresh breath .
Speaker 1Number six offer to contribute , While it's commonly expected , I see how these days For the man to pay Right .
Speaker 2Exactly . Offering to split the bill or take turns can be a thoughtful gesture .
Speaker 1But don't get mad if he's like listen .
Speaker 2I got this . I don't wear . I won't Swim chump , don't be like , I ain't gonna be mad .
Speaker 6Another six sounds like the . I'm gonna just slow , mostly to my pocketbook , but you gotta take it .
Speaker 2Yeah , yeah , she's gonna be like this yeah Right , but again I'm being five .
Speaker 3I don't need to feel like playing that game .
Speaker 2What the ? I just don't . I don't need to feel like playing that chess game .
Should we split the bill ?
Speaker 1No , you know what it is . We're not splitting it , no , but see , we just had a whole conversation over talking about finances .
Speaker 4But I'm just saying , it's like , bro , it's a date Like you probably gonna spend what $60 , $70? .
Speaker 6Yeah , on a dinner date , I'll say it's $70 .
Speaker 2But again , but just like what Lamp was saying earlier on , well , with the minions question . But I mean , if I'm asking you out , then of course I will pay . Oh , OK , all right , but that's only if I ask you out .
Speaker 3Yeah , I don't think that's a good word about All right .
Speaker 2But now once that bill comes out .
Speaker 1Hey , give it to him over there .
Speaker 2Sitting across the table .
Speaker 1How did you hand me that bill ? Right Well that was my top one it looks like all of them the same .
Speaker 6Yeah , they're talking like back though , yeah , and then of course , like I said , what else ?
Speaker 2Oh , number seven , no . Number eight keep your phone away Again , give your full attention or distractions . Number nine be yourself , you know , be authentic . And then number 10 , of course , again , follow up . You know if you had a good time , consider sending a text or calling to express your enjoyment .
Speaker 6I think that's a solid , solid list as well .
Speaker 2Good little baseless .
Speaker 6Sound like a marriage of the same . Yeah , it sound like a .
Speaker 2Oh wait a minute .
Speaker 6Sound like a couple wrote that list together .
Speaker 2Hold on . No , I'm sorry . Number seven was to be respectful . Number eight keep your phone away . And number nine trust your instincts for the women . Oh trust your instincts . If something feels uncomfortable or unsafe , trust your gut and prioritize your own well-being . Oh yeah 100% agree with that . And then number 10 was to follow up .
Speaker 3Yeah , number nine is a really good one . That's a really good .
Speaker 2Always trust your gut women .
Speaker 1All right , so this is what we're going to do . There is well , actually , I found some Gen Zers and there are a lot of , well , basically , terms that they use . So this is basically 2024 Gen Z slang in the guide for relationships , now , a lot of this shit , though I don't know , I'm offended by it because this slang basically was created before them , but then there's a lot of texting slang in here . That's whatever . Anyway , we're going to go around the table . I'm going to say a word and somebody's going to put it in a sentence .
Speaker 6OK .
Speaker 1I'm ready . All right , I'm not a Gen Zer , but OK , all right , hold on , let me give you something . All right , I'm going to give you the honest , because you know you out here , in these streets . You need to be slanging that . Slang . You feel what I'm saying ? Oh yeah , I need you to sound like you know what you're talking about when you start talking to these chicks . All right , cuffing slash , cuffing season .
Speaker 4Put it in a sentence . Either you don't have to use both myself at this currently moment . At this current moment , it's not experiencing cuffing season .
Speaker 1OK , all right , Stop . Just went down a little bit . Ok , hold on , we're going to stay on you , lam , because you need it the most . I don't need it , I'm good . I'm good . Can we switch seats ? Nope , gaslighting , you know what gasoline ? Is you familiar ? I have the definition . I got the definition oh , you got it , I just never understood it .
Speaker 4Ok , I don't . I don't know how to use that in a sentence , all right .
Speaker 6I'll give my man a lifeline . Yeah , so she called me cheating , but I just was gaslighting her and we're back together .
Speaker 1You didn't help .
Speaker 6He didn't at all . Oh , I thought I used it right like gaslighting .
Speaker 4No , here's the thing . I'm looking at the definition . Listen , this is one of the words I struggle with People be like oh , he's gaslighting the situation . I'm always sitting there like what the fuck does that mean ?
Speaker 6What I got is almost like I make the person feel crazy when they're 100% right .
Speaker 1Oh that's a fact .
Speaker 3Oh , you call me cheating .
Speaker 6I'm a gaslight you All of a sudden we're back together because you lie yeah .
Speaker 1OK , All right cool .
Speaker 4All right Back to you . When I got back to me , ghosted , ghosted , I really didn't like her , so I didn't bother calling her back . That's a sentence .
Speaker 3But the word ghosting is not in the sentence . Oh , ghosting oh oh . I can't get it out of my head , my man . That wasn't even the definition . It wasn't even the definition . It was like , uh , something . I was like wait for the word .
Speaker 1He ghosted so good he didn't even use the fucking word Right , man . I said what .
Speaker 4Some of you used the sentence Right man , I didn't have a good time . I'm ghosting her . I'm not calling her there you go hey .
Speaker 1Cast with a ghost . All right , let me fuck your head up . I don't know if they actually pronounce this . No , it's an acronym , so I don't think that they do . But I-O-Y , I'm sorry what I-O-Y ? I love you . Ok , but you got to use the I-O-Y , i-o-y .
Speaker 2Oh .
Speaker 6That's fine , I'll take you to the text .
Speaker 2Yeah , I was just about to say that . Act like you sent in the text .
Speaker 4Oh , I took you .
Speaker 1Damn I-O-Y . Now hold on . There's a couple of rules to this . Make sure it's not 10 in the morning , all right , make sure it doesn't have the other acronym , you know , w-y-d .
Speaker 3OK .
Speaker 1OK , so go ahead and I got you just in the same . Yeah , and you can't say beautiful or queen , oh shit .
Speaker 4This man , I love you yeah .
Speaker 1Yo , you are fucking Listen .
Speaker 4OK , damn , I got for my- .
Speaker 2Don't be gaslighting . I got for my- .
Speaker 4Basically Great . I got to put myself in the scenario . While I'm not a swum , Come on , be on the scene . It's been four months .
Speaker 3No .
Speaker 4And nobody has made me feel the way you make me feel . This has been really good . Four months Kind of takes a sense of this , my man got a monologue .
Speaker 6Yes , i-o-y .
Speaker 4You been practicing .
Speaker 2He can't wait to send that one man .
Speaker 6that's what I'm like . That's what I'm like a bonus in the notebook , or something .
Speaker 1Hey , listen .
Speaker 3The alternate ending Right .
Speaker 4Look , that was a little more difficult . I had to you had to build up to it .
Speaker 1Yeah , let me get you back over here . Pimping Riz Yo , we don't know shit . Oh my God Yo .
Speaker 4Oh shit yeah . Riz Riz Riz Riz Riz Riz . Man , I know for a fact you attracted to my Riz and good looks .
Speaker 6I attracted to my Riz and sounds wild OK .
Speaker 3We can't answer right after this , that's how crazy Hold on .
Speaker 1Here we go , all right . So I got two for you .
Speaker 6Is that yous right ?
Speaker 1Oh yeah , I mean it's charisma . I mean he used it grammatically correct , like it's not how somebody of the age of 25 would use it .
Speaker 3I've heard it a lot and I'm just like what ?
Speaker 1the fuck is- .
Speaker 3I've never I tried to Riz up . And I'm like what does that mean ?
Speaker 1And I'm sitting here like you can't pick it out or figure it out through the context you try to Riz what . Like what happened exactly ? Let me get some more back stories so I understand what the fuck is going on Back story . Yeah , I need the back story ? Well , I don't need the back story . But you understand ? Well , you already know . So , with that point up , just like fuck you . I don't even want to know . Let's go to Smash , oh okay .
Speaker 4Smash yes .
Speaker 2You've been using that for a while , man .
Speaker 1My business is all out of the streets .
Speaker 4It took a minute , but she finally came through and let me smash .
Speaker 1That was , ladies and gentlemen . That was his pimp hand .
Speaker 6I think , I think , I think most men have used that term . Well , I use that approach of a sentence .
Speaker 1Yeah , all right , sneaky link Shit . Come on man , you can't be I can't have you out here in these streets , filthy .
Speaker 4I would never use these terms . Come on , man .
Speaker 6He's like I'm a grown ass man , what you mean ?
Speaker 1Sneaky she might be talking to you about something oh , a sneaky link I was or you could be defending yourself .
Speaker 3I'm not a sneaky link oh , oh , oh , oh , oh oh .
Speaker 4I do not have time to be your sneaky link . Okay , okay , go home to your man .
Speaker 6Damn .
Speaker 1That was his left pimp hand . All right , snack .
Speaker 4And then I'm going to let you off this , oh okay , oh no , that's not going to be the last one .
Speaker 1I just found a treasure trove .
Speaker 6I'm scared to find out what it is tonight .
Speaker 4I saw her profile picture looking like a whole fucking snack . There you go , oh my man that one .
Speaker 1Okay , all right , all right , all right , talking or talking face .
Speaker 4Oh man .
Speaker 1That's the space she went right now .
Speaker 4I know , just put it in park and give me a sentence Right now . Currently I'm enjoying dating and having a talking face with what I like it .
Speaker 1I like it a lot . All right , thirsty , I told you I don't fell into a whole treasure trove .
Speaker 4You will never catch me on these streets being thirsty .
Speaker 1Okay , that's good , that's good and last but not least , Zaddy , oh man .
Speaker 4I posted the pic and she put the heart eyes and called me Zaddy . Oh , it's a wrap . I guess y'all talking about finance tonight . Word .
Speaker 1Oh , my God .
Speaker 3Oh , man Hold on .
Speaker 1Because I got , we got one last thing for this , because now you know this whole dating thing . So Applebee's introduces a $200 date night pass for year long dining experience . Now for the cereal data , that could work out , think about it . Yes , because you know you're not taking the same person as Applebee's , unless , how , fuck it , let's tie it back into finances . Right , tie it back into finances . You're trying to . You know y'all like fuck it , we can't eat out every night . Now you got a $200 year long pass and y'all good . Or for the cereal data , you know , I mean with Instagram . Now , with this , you're going to be fucked up out here because they're going to be like this is the fucking Applebee's guy .
Or the body like are you going to laugh again with this fourth date ? What ?
Speaker 1can I get for your victim ? I mean ?
Speaker 2your date , everybody knows that .
Speaker 3Get a glass of water .
Speaker 6Lamb doesn't drink , and if I don't , drink , you don't drink the same thing or they go laughs at Patrons' norm , the lab and the building . It's like an episode of Cheers . Everybody know your name , I know right .
Speaker 1Oh my God , all right . So our league is clear about . What . Does everybody think about this shit ?
Speaker 6I think it's awesome if you can use it at multiple Applebee's locations , Right Like if it's the same location it's trash .
Speaker 1But think about it like this though it might be like Planet Fitness , where you get a black card and you got Applebee's .
Speaker 6I would think you could use it at different locations . Honestly , if I could only use it like the Applebee's here in Bowie , if I could only use it in Bowie , it's trash , because then , like you said , everybody know your name and it's just crazy . They're like damn . So the last day they work out for you , huh , bring the date number four Back again . Nah , man , I think that's about it . It's only good if you can use it at well , at least multiple locations in your local area . Like okay , if I go to the Applebee's in Bowie and then go to Applebee's in Laurel and then maybe I go to the one in Waldorf , but then , you know , applebee's people might be talking about each other . I know he coming down to y'all next .
Speaker 6So you never know .
Speaker 1It's an interesting story . I don't know where we were coming back from . Where we were coming back from .
Speaker 2Was it the wedding ? I don't even know what you're talking about All right .
Speaker 1So I think it was the wedding . I'm going with the wedding . I'm maybe lying , but that's cool . Whatever , y'all don't fucking know . We're coming back from the wedding . Of course she's hungry , right ? You like the ? Of Course .
Speaker 6Oh yeah , I heard I peeped it . You got to underline that shit too you know , get the little fucking yellow highlighter .
Speaker 1Highlight it .
Speaker 2Oh , it's not the only one . Put some fucking hearts in it , I promise I wouldn't , only yeah , yeah , circle .
Speaker 1Yeah , so a lot of things around my way close early . Okay . When I say early , I'm like between 10 and 11 , 11 o'clock everything is shut , so Applebee's is open and we ended up at fucking Applebee's and shit . Was it the wedding ? Yeah , it was yeah , we was coming back from the wedding , I was just got married , so it was like all right cool , whatever went there .
Speaker 6It wasn't that bad .
Speaker 1Applebee's not bad it wasn't horrible . It wasn't horrible , it wasn't . It was one of those things , like you know , of course , I got ice grilled because it's like you know I'm like oh , so this is open at that age , like nigga why the fuck ? Do you need to know how late this is ? Like , do you want food or not ? I'm like , yeah , all right , no , but yeah , no .
Speaker 6Anyway , that was my useless , disgusting story that had nothing to do with it , but no , I mean they chicken tendered the fire .
Speaker 1The chicken , I don't think I got the chicken fingers , though . Well , I had wings that night .
Speaker 2But I don't know For me . I think it maybe if it was like other restaurants under that brand , probably .
Speaker 3That's smart .
Speaker 2Like can we get ? Like I don't know , chili's is part of it . But , whatever other you know restaurants under that brand , instead of just all Applebee's like .
Speaker 6Yeah , Applebee's , Ruby Tuesday's .
Speaker 3Yeah whatever , yeah , something like that .
Speaker 2So instead of just the one restaurant maybe that would be okay .
Speaker 4So for me , I think it's a great idea , okay .
Speaker 6All right . Even if it's one location , is it good right there ?
Speaker 3Yeah , one location , that's fine .
Speaker 4Would I , would me being a dator , use it . No , okay , while I'm not like , while I'm not trying to make nobody my wife , the first date , you still want to get a good impression . You know I would like to take a woman . It would be ideal to take her somewhere either . She's never been .
Speaker 1She's just not getting a steak , but she ain't getting Taco Bell either .
Speaker 4No , she's not getting a no . So here's the thing about the steak thing . Right , you can . You know your budget . Right , you was you , you , you , you , you playing in this deck . You know your budget . Um , it may not be state , but I'm not going to take a woman somewhere in in penny pinch Like , damn , I hope she don't order no shit with shrimp . Like , if we go on , we go on . You know what I'm saying . Like you got to be , if you taking a woman out , you got to be prepared to spend money .
Speaker 6That's how it is .
Speaker 4It's just , I'm not . You know what I'm saying . It's , it's , it's . I look at it like it's love . Yeah , you know what I'm saying ? Yeah , but that don't mean I'm going to take you to a dump . It just mean I might , I might spend some money , I might spend a little more money because I'm not going to be there , like , okay , you , here's the rules , right . Right , you get that , then we going to share , right , and you get an entree . You know , try to keep the entree $20 or less . I would really appreciate that .
Speaker 1No , like I think you could do that . You can .
Speaker 4I mean , I'm reading right here I just don't want to be there I don't like to meet . It gives off that cheap person Right , and I don't want to be the chief . You don't want her to know that you're cheap , you're cheap .
Speaker 1No , I'm not cheap .
Speaker 4No , you're cheap . No , I'm not cheap . This is the thing .
Speaker 1What I'm saying is this right , when I say that you're cheap , that first date you was like remember , because I was like well how could she get a steak dinner ? You was like show me a woman that deserves a steak dinner on her first date and I was like you know what . This is smart .
Speaker 4No , you see no , no , no , I think it just kicked me in the fucking hole . No , it's a difference , because you said steak restaurant . That's why I said well , wait man , you think about like a capital grill . Yeah we not going nowhere like that ?
Speaker 1Oh , you're going to allow this man to do that shit right now . I'm just trying to clarify the case .
Speaker 6I'm just asking Listen , listen , listen .
Speaker 4OK , listen , listen you can't , you can't put up right you can't put , it's not even about I could go to . You could go to Fridays and spend more money than you would have spent and forgo the child . Yeah forgo the child . Well , I don't want to use forgo the child , because that's all you can eat . But let's say , you pick it .
Speaker 4Let's say , you pick a steak restaurant . Right , you pick a steak restaurant . It's just the ambience , it's everything about this place . It's not even just the food . It's the ambience , it's the service , it's everything that comes with this place . There's just some places like , hey , this is cash .
Speaker 1You like , you know what it is , you won't get this skirt steak and hope they cut it right . I mean , that's what you order , yeah .
Speaker 4I look , if I was you , if I were you . I would go to Fridays and order a steak . That's just me . I will order chicken fingers and fries or something else .
Speaker 3The jackdaw is a burger .
Speaker 4Yeah , just something else .
Speaker 3You know what I'm saying but here's the thing .
Speaker 4But here's the crazy part I don't know how much we're going to spend because I'm not . I'm not now . See , I be careful of my words because people watching . I don't want you , thinking you about , to have bottomless drinks , right , I just expect , unless it's $20 .
Speaker 1They 20 hours . You drink as much as you want . They said so 20 .
Speaker 4No , because you got to get home .
Speaker 1Right , no , put in the Uber , oh , but y'all drive out . Yeah , you can , but it's like no , so just expect this . Let me sum it up with this Damn . He just said I ain't even picking up , we're going to meet there . Just in case I really don't like it .
Speaker 4No , no , no , no , no , no . A lot of women don't want you to pick them up .
Speaker 6They want to meet you at the place ?
Speaker 1Oh yeah , so you can tell I haven't dated anyone , yeah .
Speaker 4So I'll sum it up with this I'm expecting a woman to know how to God damn . I'm expecting her to know how to conduct herself as a woman . You know what I'm saying , like . I'm expecting you to be a woman . That's not . Oh , this my time to go out . Let me get three , four drinks , because I don't get to go out much .
Speaker 6Like about about 30 oysters , like that one lady did .
Speaker 1Bro . I've been saying I got a story about that In my mid 30s . Oh no , oh , no . Yeah , I was in Philadelphia and I had went out on a date in Philadelphia . Philadelphia is only two hours from New York .
Speaker 3Yeah , right .
Speaker 1And she was like you want to go to a restaurant . So we went there and don't ask me why , like this is my first experience dating somebody that you know like seafood to the extent of lobster and all that other shit . Now she ordered a lot . Now I didn't think about it because I'm allergic to seafood , so why would you be so inconsiderate as to do ? But whatever , you know , I'm like . Whatever they want to take out the shit on the menu , let me get that salad . So she ordered , like the oysters , some black oysters , bro . And my butt clenched because I was like hold on , because you do understand , because you know we've been talking about the budget earlier , right , I mean you do understand what side of the menu . That is right . But it's different if you've already started smashing , like I've already hit . Like this is not a home run for me and I don't even like you like that for a while .
Speaker 1You doing all this . Yeah , we not talking about finances .
Speaker 6We have nothing to gain from here .
Speaker 1Oh my God , yeah , no , but that's see , that's why .
Speaker 4That's why you picked the rest of one is a man .
Speaker 3I don't live in Philly .
Speaker 4No , it was , but see okay , yeah , no research .
Speaker 1No , bro , there was no internet back then . See , look she styles . You got her how to take an alley . I knew that oh but I was trying to be considerate . She ended up at one of the fucking Philly cheese steaks Fucking restaurant Shit .
Speaker 4Listen now , nowadays , okay , with city , you went If I happen to , if I make a city , you know what I'm saying and it's like hey , I found this spot . You want to go ? Simple , yeah , simple , no , but see , that's that's the first of all .
Speaker 1I don't know . I can't even act on that advice . The thing is with , with actually I can't get up and setting stuff up and whatnot . Nice I'll be doing . Do I do a good job , though ?
Speaker 2Yeah , you do Damn .
Speaker 3They always tempted to say the increase voice . Did you hear ?
Speaker 1little voice inflects .
Speaker 6Just to let you know that you really ain't doing shit Right , you know what I mean , but enough to let you know , like I'm not going to embarrass you , Voice turner to Minnie Mouse .
Speaker 1Gentlemen , effort is is worth zero in these streets . No , I'm playing with you , I'm really playing , so anyway , I just don't want to get chopped in the throat . Oh , what the fuck was I going with this ? Oh no , that was a good segue . I was lost , we were talking about playing .
Speaker 4I was saying something about being in the city , yeah .
Speaker 1But see , the thing is right now you , armed up , like you are , you got everything . You got you got the dating apps , which I hope you're not using because you're a podcaster . You have , that is your dating app . You have because putting you in contact with all of these people , yeah , you have , basically , just like you said . Like I have on my Instagram page is a folder called the day night and literally I've gone through like all of that . Also have one with brunch with my brothers and all of that too . But every time I see something I'm like then we need to go , to need to do this , we need to do that . So I put everything in there and then when it comes time to , actually , I'll shoot it to her because she's funny , like I'm funny , like a scale of one to 10 . What you think I mean , right ? So it's like a eight to 10 . We good , right ?
Speaker 6Anything less than eight . I ain't messing with it .
Speaker 1I mean it's between eight and 10 , because it costs money to play . We don't want to go out there and spend money on some shit , you know whatever .
Speaker 6But you ready to go out here , out here A little bit shooting in the gym A little bit .
Speaker 1A little bit Ladies and gentlemen , I mean pardon , I didn't mean to do that to you .
Speaker 4Ladies , it's all good , the gentlemen knew better Some of them .
Speaker 3They knew better . Trust me , they knew better .
Speaker 1Ladies , there's a good catch out here . He's not talking about finances , it's not an algebra pop quiz . When you show it , show up there on your first date . So don't worry about the hard questions . There won't be any as long as you can Nunciate your words and no ads are going to fucking state plays on the first day . They ain't gonna happen . I'm telling you that right now .
Speaker 4All right , you can tell me off , off , off . I don't know off it , but I just it depends on the woman . Okay , we had conversations like . I'm the type . This is why I'll never really understand how men be feeling like women used the fourth meal . That's your fault , bro , that's your fault , all your fault .
Speaker 6That's a sound blade right there .
Speaker 4Because if you had a good conversation with this woman , you know if she's feeling you or not . You should know what type of place she would like to go to . Those are the bottom
. One thing is the first thing . So if you just out here being saved as food guy on her phone , that's on you , bro .
Speaker 6Food guys , because that's what you in .
Speaker 4You're the food guy .
Speaker 6People say never .
Speaker 4I say never will I be the food guy .
Speaker 6Never Good .
Speaker 4So the food guy I know in three conversations if we in a good space where I could be spending my money on you .
Speaker 6So what about ? Like the nail guy ? You're gonna be like the nail guy . Neither , I'm not gonna be . None of those guys . Okay , they be saying , hey , hair , hair , nail , nail , all that You're not getting no extra curriculars off of me .
Speaker 1So I will say this brother , I'm gonna pray for you . You be safe out in these streets .
Speaker 4I'm good man , All right .
Speaker 1Because there's some savages out here lurking , you know , lurking and hurting , you know , and they , like they , want to talk about finances too Yours .
Speaker 4You know how that conversation gonna be short . You know , listen , let me tell you something . My whole golden rule is , when we go on this date , if my car get declined , you have all rights to ask about my finance . As long as that car go through , you don't need to talk about my finance .
Speaker 1Relax . I don't care if it is my cash app called relax . Don't matter what car , live right , you eat currency is currency .
Speaker 4Did you get the walk out ? Did you ? Did you open your purse ? Yeah , that's a fact .
Speaker 1Did you act like you was going to open your purse , because that's a problem too ? Yeah , exactly , I just need you to .
Speaker 4I just need you to say thank you . I appreciate the good time being engaged . Don't have your phone and we good , it's not . I'm not a complicated guy .
Speaker 1There you go . Can I ask a real quick question ? Sure , so this is for everybody . So we're all let's say all individually right , I'm doing something for my wife , my wife's doing something for me , when you're doing something for the mystery woman that you hopefully did not meet on tender , so you send out an invite , like y'all trying to do X , y and Z for my woman on what you call it . Come through , if you want to come through , they come through , then they pay . I mean , excuse me , it comes time to pay for whatever Pay for everybody Send in invites .
Speaker 1It's grown man .
Speaker 6No , no , I'm not .
Speaker 1I don't even think that my friends would . Even I seen it flowing around . Yeah , by the time this hits the streets it's gonna be super old news . But I did have , you know , an opinion on it and my thing is this if I got it , I'll do it Because , again , it's anything for my woman , right ? So if I want to make it a grandiose thing , right . If I want to fly people in or you know better , yet that'd be , that's real stupid . If I want to be in Dallas and send out invites you know what I mean it's gonna be a small , intimate crew or whatever . I would do it , I would take care of them if I had it . But for you to show up and expect , you don't expect it .
Speaker 1I think that's the problem . That .
Speaker 3I'm gonna pay for you .
Speaker 1Now I brought you out to make a movie , but I ain't paying you . Yeah , you know what I mean . We not doing that . What's your thoughts ?
Speaker 6Well , I guess it depends on the situation . Like true story for my 40th birthday that just passed this past October , my wife threw like a surprise birthday brunch at me in Lamp Shraver spot at the good old milk and honey . But it was the one in Camp Springs and it completely threw me off guard .
Speaker 1Can I stop you ? Yeah , what'd you eat ?
Speaker 6Yeah , you already know Chicken and waffles , chicken and waffles and some mimosas , you know what .
Speaker 6I'm saying Chicken and waffles . But she surprised me and like it was a emotional moment , like I cried , I had all my family and stuff like that and I didn't you know . So me thinking I was like in my back of my head . One thing I never liked to do was like when there's a huge , huge party , I'm like damn okay , how we splitting the bill , this in the third and then I overheard the waiter talk to my wife was in . He was just like okay , so you got X amount , that's already covered . Blah , blah , blah , because she in advance put that money aside to pay for the people in attendance . So I feel like it depends on the occasion . Like that milestone birthday , sure , she did it . But if it's just , you know , but not all occasions , like if you're just doing something nice to your wife , like you said , just don't don't come through expecting that style is just going to pay just because he invited you .
Speaker 1I mean , I want her to be around . You know her family and friends . Of course I'm going to take care of my mother-in-law , my sister-in-law , but you know what I mean . Like you won't find , you can see . Yeah . She means , you got peanuts in here real quick . But again , if I had it I would do it Right . But I think that no grown person you know walking around paying bills , should expect that somebody's going , especially if we know the financial climate that we're in , because we probably ended up splitting something at some point .
Speaker 6You know what I'm saying .
Speaker 1Going somewhere , splitting something . We split that . Why the fuck would I pay for you to you ? Know what I mean . Like that doesn't even make any sense In fact , you should ask me , you know , if you're really that concerned like yo , how are we going to assist this ? You know , am I paying for this , you paying ? For this . Like do that . You know , what are y'all thoughts ?
Speaker 4Yeah , I'm with you Like . I'm looking at it like man . I appreciate the fact that they want me to share this moment with them . So this is I'm sharing a moment . Don't mean they paying the bill . I expect like an end . I look at it like I know my friends not they , they , they well , but I don't want to put the burden in them paying for me . No , in my life .
Speaker 3But whoever from with somebody Right , right , I'm saying , if I'm with somebody .
Speaker 1You little side thing Right ? Yeah , I don't really want to .
Speaker 4The only time she get a steak dinner somebody get a steak , so it's like yeah , like I don't expect that , like I wouldn't even want you know what I'm saying , I wouldn't even want them to do that . No , now , if he , now , if he , if he come up like a lamp , already paid for this , then I'm like oh , that's different .
Speaker 1I just get a whole . Thing . You hit the ladder Right .
Speaker 4So it's like who you took care of that and let me let you know I appreciate that . So , yeah , because , again , you know another thing to consider too . A lot of times you didn't bring a gift . So if you bring in a , I think , if you think like , if it's a see , once it's in a restaurant , it's kind of understood . You're going to be paying like this If it's at the house . You know what I'm saying , you probably not going to pay nothing .
Speaker 6Hey , nothing , yeah , so it's like but then you're going
Speaker 4to bring , but then I feel like you should bring a gift .
Speaker 1Yeah , or liquor . You better bring some .
Speaker 6No , come in here and be handy .
Speaker 1Like oh .
Speaker 6I'm going to eat this food and roll out . You know what I'm saying . And then you got your top away .
Speaker 4That food was delicious .
Speaker 1Like we were taking plates to go .
Speaker 4Using your little . You know my , my , my , my , my brothers . You know what I'm saying Different .
Speaker 1Yeah , I know , I know what they find . They think it cursed out different too . That's the problem .
Speaker 4Yeah , but I'm not saying like they when I say brothers like close friends and stuff , so it's like we know our financial situation .
Speaker 1But see , that's the thing , though . This is where I was going with that . Like you , we've probably split something recently , you know what I mean . Or I came to you and I needed something , or vice versa .
Speaker 3Why would you ?
Speaker 4think that I'm paying for this .
Speaker 3Yeah , yeah .
Speaker 4It's just , it's just a principal thing . Like why is it , as a grown man , like , why would you ?
Speaker 1do that . You want to grant talking about a stand on business . What's your ? What's your thoughts ?
Speaker 2I pretty much agree . I mean , I think you know , take away the expectation of it . You know , like I said , for you to even have the expectation that , okay , well , they're going to pay for this , since they invited me , okay .
Speaker 3No , actually no .
Speaker 2But but I kind of like agree , like with what your wife did for you as far as , like , you know , saving up the money , you know , like things like that , and then you know taking care of it . You know , especially , you know , if it's something for my husband , then yeah , let me . You know , as far as like paying for everything , like I mean , I , you know , my thought was when they're first , because I'm like that would be something that I would do as well and not , you know , have everybody to pay , but but yeah .
Speaker 2But , like I said , for you to expect or to come in here and think , okay , well , they're going to take care of it , yeah , yeah , that's just taking away the expectation .
Speaker 6Yeah , as an adult .
Speaker 4Yeah , yeah , just going in knowing I may have to pay Right . If I'm paying for everybody , I have it . You might have a menu .
Speaker 6I mean like yeah .
Speaker 1I already said .
Speaker 4Yeah , like , oh no you the filet mignon , that's not on that menu at all , Not a little bit .
Speaker 1You might get some chicken and waffle though .
Speaker 2You know what's on the menu . Everybody else got chicken and waffle .
Speaker 1Everybody else got chicken and waffle . You got the chicken and waffle . I'm great with that . Yeah , chicken and eggs in a bowl yeah she said these are in carton eggs and I'm like hold up , you got a rooster . Like where these eggs ? What kind of eggs are ?
Speaker 1these Cause . They kind of threw me when she said that , right , and that's just me going back to the early conversation . But yeah , no , no , I'm not doing eggs in a bowl , ever Not at all . I hear you , you know it better . It was different if it had like sausage and pause . All right , let's , let's , let's move on . I'm talking about talking about dessert .
Speaker 5I hope you guys enjoyed your meal . Can I get you something off of our dessert menu ?
Speaker 1Yeah , so this is the part of the show I love hate .
Speaker 3Hmm .
Speaker 1Right , so you got to go . You know , um , to wrap it up . Thank you guys , you know . Thank you to my beautiful wife . You know what I'm saying .
You was going to say something .
Speaker 6No , did you put me oh , I thought you had muted me . No , no , no , she came with a defensive . She was like you didn't mute me .
Speaker 1I got to look at the board . No , I'll be able to happy fingers . Um , yeah , so you know ? Uh , let me see . Oh , I'm wowing again Cause I just did it again . The only thing is that , yeah , Ryan , in jumping front of that bully , he was like fuck you Did it earlier , you know , you got COVID brain . What the fuck is going on , ryan ? Actually , this is , this is Ryan's um segment again . Oh , yeah , yeah .
Speaker 6Yeah , no problem . Well , uh , just for this , a quick segment . Uh , I'm a huge , huge movie buff Love shows this . And the third , just really , really quick . Um , it's already out , but if you're interested in something good to watch it , you got the time to do so . Highly recommend you check out boy swallows universe . Pause , as some people might like to say , but uh , it was . It's a very uh great series is on Netflix . Uh , seven episodes , uh , a fairly quick watch . You can knock it out in one weekend .
Speaker 6What it's about ? Um , I heard someone say it's like sons of anarchy mixed with the goonies , and I'll have to agree . It's about a little boy by the name of Eli and his older brother , gus long , so he's short . It's a . It's a movie about them struggling to raise themselves after alcohol and drugs Damn , they tear the family apart , um , so , for example , you have an alcoholic biological father . You got um , their mother , biological mom who was struggling on , you know , struggling with drug addictions . Stepdad is cool with the kids but , spoiler alert he's a drug dealer as well , and so you got all these things in the mix and you're looking at this entire series from the point of view of Eli , who was like 12 years old trying to navigate through this whole space . So , um , a really great watch . Um , if you , if you like , a tear jerker , there might be a few moments where it's a little bit of a tear jerker and as a 40 year old man , I'm not a not afraid to admit that I've I've cried on a few of those moments . So highly recommend it . Um , pause the slay and reassure . Yet again , it is called boy swallows universe and very , very quickly , um , as a uh , something that I'm looking forward to . By the time this comes out , it'll already be out , but we do have uh not we , cause I don't own it Um , uh , we have uh , griselda .
Speaker 6Griselda Blanco is going to be on Netflix January 25th . Um , I'm looking forward to it . I think it's already going to do a lot better than the original uh adaptation of Griselda's life , which was played by Catherine Zeta-Jones , and it was horrible . Um , this one is played by Sophia , sophia uh Vergara . For those who aren't familiar , she was the wife of Ed Bundy on Modern Family . I've always seen her in comedy stuff . So for her to actually take on a serious role as Griselda Blanco herself , I'm highly , highly excited for it and I feel like Netflix has a great um streak going with just great shows . And just as a quick , quick , honorable mention , we got the Vince Deppler show coming out as well . It looks like Atlanta that Childers of Gambino did , but just with Vince Deppler's LA twist to it .
Speaker 1So yeah , Alright , I'm here for it . I am here for it , thank you , thank you , thank you , um , and now I should just cut out that first part and then put it here , but .
Speaker 3I ain't going to do that though .
Speaker 1I'm keeping it organic . You know , we want to see , we want y'all to see us fall in our faces on this episode , next episode , we good , right , um , alright , so I'm just going to go around the table , you know . Let everybody know where they can find you . Um , thank you again . You know , uh , and this I'm , I'm excited . You know , I don't even know how I can keep looking in the eyes of two grown as men telling me I'm excited . But , you know we're going to stop that . I'm excited there you go .
Speaker 3That's a much better look . I'm excited . Hey , how you doing . Hey , should I leave my own house ?
Speaker 6Shout out to Ryan for being such a gracious host . I hate this brother .
Speaker 1This brother was like , listen , do you mind if I open up my home to you and I'm like yo , the south is different , the south is different . You know what I mean ? It is like it's kind of like when you invite people or whatever and you don't expect them , I mean you expect them to know that they have to pay . It's the same thing . Well , fucking don't expect this . You're going to be thinking it was like yo , it's good , I know you're coming down here . You mind if I open up my singles , Like , basically , do you mind being my company this weekend ? And I was like yo , man , this dude , I was like they different .
Speaker 1I like them . They different yeah .
Speaker 3Like the fuck , yeah , okay .
