Attentions yet to come - by Vibeke Mascini - Part 2 - Talking to Pam Jordan

Metropolis M

Through her work as an architect specializing in sustainable architecture and heritage, conservation and restoration, Pam Jordan developed an interest in sound in heritage sites. Her work as a "sensory archaeologist" led her to research sites such as the remains of the Berlin Wall and Mount Lykaion in Greece, with an emphasis on activating the history and memories of these sites through sound. I invited her to speak with me about sound awareness, deaf spaces and acoustic heritage. This conversation was interspersed with several of Pam's field recordings.

This podcast series was made on invitation of Metropolis M, with the support of: Rijksakademie Amsterdam where these conversations were recorded. Thanks to Maggie who introduced the occasional sonic notes of dog dreaming and fur fluttering, Stef Veldhuis who was of great editing assistance and of course thanks to Raviv Ganchrow and Pam Jordan, who shared their intellectual generosity as well as some sound clips from their endlessly inspiring work.
