Ruining "The Moment" with Erin Tillman

 When we talk about consent in community or in school classrooms or as commentary on social media, one of the common refrains is “but it’ll ruin the moment!”. This idea of “the moment” has been in large part created and reinforced by the movies and tv we have grown up with. In recent years, the creation of that moment has been given extra care and consideration by hiring Intimacy Coordinators.  Erin Tillman, CEO of Relational Equity Group, is, among many things, a Certified Intimacy Coordinator who works to facilitate conversations around boundaries and safety, while also being a cheerleader for the creative process. In this episode, Erin and I dive into why intimacy coordination exists in the first place, the relationship between comprehensive sexuality education and media, and the lessons we can all learn from intimacy coordination.
