Tamah's Torah Teaching
Parasah#12: Vayechi (He lived) B'resheit (Genesis) 47:28-50:26
This week we will concentrate on explaining Ya'akov's renaming to Israel; Who renamed him, why, and how it applies to the continued history and final outcome for G-d's people; the Jews first, and then the Gentiles. We will see that both "groups" of people must become reconciled to G-d through Yahshua's sacrifice, and hear, internalize, and act upon the words of G-d out of love. This includes among other specifics, following the biblical Sabbath, observing the designated holy days, and the dietary laws, not manmade traditions that often become laws.
We must learn the differences between pagan practices that have been carried into religious institutions, and the truth of G-d's Word that applies to everyone.
Using the example of Ya'akov's persistence in his battle with the angel who was really an epiphany, we learn that we can overcome and continue to serve G-d even if we are impaired in some way. We can overcome any trial or obstacle that may hinder us from giving G-d our best. Nothing is impossible with G-d.
