Living Torah: Taking Stock
Today we are going to explore the concepts of flattery, lying, mockery, and slander, also called (lashon hara) which means "evil tongue." I discuss how slander is akin to murder and how the commandment not to murder relates to speaking evil of another, even when it is true.
I also address how flattery can be harmful and how "lying" can sometimes be justified. So, take a break from your day or evening activities, and gain a deeper understanding of these terms with which you may not be familiar in the true Hebrew /biblical context.
