Hello and welcome to the anime and go edition of the podcast. I'm your host, Andy, and we're back, of course, continuing our journey with Bleach. Last time, what did we do? What did we do? We were oh, that's right. We were introduced to Udiyu, this new dude who apparently has like a lightning bow. Don't know how else to describe it besides this blue light shines or glows or emanates from his cross thing, and then it turns into a bow and arrow type of thing. Coolest thing. My gosh. And that him and um he challenged Ichigo to a who can kill the most hollows competition. I think that more or less sums up what happened last episode, last episode. Um nope. Chad apparently now has this really cool, souped up, powered up arm. Like there's like it's only one arm, too. It's has armor. I don't know how else to describe it besides that. Low key looks like it'd be a hollows arm. But now it's like on just on his. I don't know. I really I really don't. But that's that. Um, yeah, going through episodes 13 through 15 of Bleach today. And boy, were they some really good episodes and one kind of nothing episode. But we're gonna get into those. Before we do, though, make sure to follow us over on Instagram at Reven and GoPod for a bunch of podcast updates like hey, this new episode's out. Hey, this is changing, not much changes, but also um for mine and adam's quick movie reviews, quick little one-paragraph reviews of bunch of movies that we see um pretty much every day. At the very least, every other day. So make sure to follow us over there on Instagram at Revengold, where we just crossed 200 followers. Hell yeah. Alright, yes, so once again, let's get that number higher. Yeah, hopefully, and check out our Instagram over there at RevengoPod. Okay, let's get into it. Okay, so episode 13 opens up with you guessed it, the holo killing competition continues because that didn't end last episode. So we're back at it watching Udyu and Ichigo slice and dice holos as well as shooting bone arrows into them. All fun and cool, I think, at the time of the episode starting, Uryu's winning with like 20 plus holo kills, victories, and all that stuff, one-shotting them. Um, episode 12 actually ended up with ended off with a holo watching Orohime from a distance, and Orehime was looking at it, so turns out Orihime can actually see hollows now. And the holo that is watching her has also like thrown like this weird green goo at her friend, and now with that green goo, she is taking over her friend, like she can like mind control them, and she's also done this to a bunch of other a bunch of other students, and as they're about to attack her and all this stuff, Otihime's friend. If I butcher the name, I butcher the name Totsky can came to her rescue, punching these guys, and now she's also staring down the the hollow. She can see the hollows, kinda. She kind of sees them like Chad does, where she can just see like she describes it too as hey you mystery blob over there, so she can kind of just see like they for the you know when Otihime, Ichigo, and them can all see the hollows, you kind of see them in their full appearance. But when a someone like Chad or Tatsuki sees them, it's more so sensing them, and she can and all they show you to visualize to see what they see is like this weird blob of like I don't even know how to explain it, but they can see a blob, I guess. So that's what she sees. And real quick, they kind of explain their um their little friendship right there, but they cut back to like like uh Orihime has a flashback of hey, I got made fun of for my hair. I literally mentioned the last episode where I was just like, How did Ichigo get made fun of and she didn't? Because they have the same color hair. Nope, she got made fun of too. And she then goes on to say, like, because I got made fun of, I cut my hair short. And you know, they show her with short hair, and she cut it pretty much down to her, like down to her neck, you know, it was past her shoulders, and now it's right above there, and that's how she cut it that short so that way people would stop making fun of her. So let me get this straight. She didn't get made fun of for the color, she got made fun of for the length of her hair. Am I getting that right? And before people are like, hey, no, it's because of the color. Why why'd she resort to cutting it? I totally get it if she like shaved her head, but she didn't. She just cut it shorter, not even insanely short. Just she just cut it so it's like above her shoulders. And you're telling me the length of her hair because of that, they made fun of it, made fun of her for it, and now because she cut it shorter, they stopped making fun of her for it. Give me a break. Whatever. Um, and while Tatsuki's kind of trying to fight off this possession that's taking over her body and all that stuff, Orahime just randomly starts powering up when she starts thinking about her friends. And I'm like, like, like, like, what are we doing here? She's like powering up Super Saiyan wise, and it's but like once the smoke settles and all that, there's no real aura. There's nothing, like, nothing changed. She didn't turn into a soul reaper, like her outfit didn't change or anything. And she's like looking up, and there's these fucking voices she's hearing, and they're coming from these bird-looking things. Nope, they're not birds. They're again, there's a lot of stuff in here that I'm most likely going to butcher. But that's okay, because you know it's it's all a learning process. But these little fairy things come down from the sky. There's six of them. I don't I did not write down their names. Maybe I will in the in a future episode. But they're floating around here and they're like, hey, we're not fairies, or I guess they kind of are fairies, but they're called Shum Shun Shunrika? Shum Shumrika? I don't know, but they're called that, and that they're her princess shielding flowers, not fairies. They made that very clear, and that their powers from within her soul, that only people and she's wondering why she can see them and the hollow, and they're explaining to her that, like, hey, people like you and your friend Ichigo can see us too. And then that's when she's like, Oh, so maybe that's what Ichigo is up to, you know? Like, what else is Ichigo doing if he can also see these two? And then she can manifest, not manifest, but she can have these six little shielding princess flowers. I I don't know. I'm gonna call them fairies. That's just what I'm gonna do. They're not though. Um, she can have them fight for her, so she just commands them to in specific like pairs, and I don't remember what her chant is. I'll and I'll remember it in the next episode, hopefully they say it. And she's fighting him off from deflecting the some of the hollow's attacks to healing some of her friends, and then one of them is specifically like, hey, send me and I'll kill him. And she ends up killing a hollow Orehime. She's a hollow killer now, she's like that. Goodness. And then Kiske, you know, uh runs into her, finds her. So crazy, Orehime has these new power things. Um, I think it's cool, pretty cool. I don't think it's as cool as it's nowhere near as cool as a Soul Reaper or even a Quincy, but I'd say it's cooler than Chad's thing, which is just this giant arm. So, you know, there's that. We then uh cut to she actually ends up passing out because you know, all this new power. I'm assuming I'm just gonna assume right now that these also run off of like spirit energy. So I'm assuming she's just used up a good chunk of her spirit energy, which in turn like can exhaust you, you know. So she passes out and they take her to go like heal her or whatever. We then cut to U still doing the competition, but his hands bleeding now. So I'm assuming the longer he starts to do this, the more tired he gets, the more it's like wear and tear on his body. And in the previous episode, and at the beginning of this episode, it showed him one-shotting these easily, just aim and shoot, and he was able to kill them. He can't even one-shot them anymore. It takes, I guess, minimum two, obviously. We also find out Rukia is fighting a hollow, and she's still using her I don't even know what to call it, like these weird soul reaper spells or whatever. And it's still not even enough to really kill any of them, and she's lets us know that she's been here for two months. So between episodes one and I guess thirteen, she's been there for two months. So two months have passed, and even this I forget what kind of body she's in. I'll remember it in the next episode. Whatever. Um, yeah, she still doesn't have like much of, if any, of her powers yet. So that sucks for her because I need to see her in her using a Zonpak toe again. I really do. And Kiske, I'm pretty sure it's Kiske, lets Orohime and Chad, I guess they picked them both up to help them feel better or whatever. But Kiske lets Chad and Otahime know that Ichigo has been releasing so much of his spirit energy, because we also find out we'll kinda get into it more in the next episode, but we find out that Ichigo has I think we kind of heard about it in the previous episode too, with Uryu letting Ichigo know that like I knew you were something the second I met you. Because you have this insane amount of spirit energy, and the reason you weren't able to sense me or know that I had any like sort of powers or some stuff like that is because I'm I've gotten so good at like hiding the spirit energy, like I can control whether it comes out or not, and I can control when I use it so much. In fact, he can use it so well that even Rukia didn't even sense anything. So that's pretty cool. But because Ichigo doesn't know how to do that and his spirit energy is flowing out non-stop, that he's really he's been releasing so much that it's affected Orohime and Chad. Which leads me to believe that maybe that is why his sister, wasn't it? Kanin, Karin, Karin can also sense see the spirits and ghosts and souls like he can. So you know, maybe maybe, maybe, maybe that's the case. I'm not too sure. But that's pretty much how episode 13 ends with Orihime now has powers, and that the reason why her and Chad have powers is m because of because of Ichigo. Moving on to episode 14, you guessed it, that opens up with the competition still going, and there are now hollows gathering on above in the sky, and now the sky is cracking. What is this the chicken little type of thing where the sky is falling? No, but we'll get into it in a second. Um, we also get some more history on the Quincy's and what happened with them. That we mentioned it again in the previous episode that of the podcast that there were there was like a war or something between the Quincy, not maybe not a war, but there is this battle going on between the Quincy's and the Soul Reapers because a soul reaper's job is to help souls, whether they be hollows and everything, to pass, you know, pass on on to the next chapter of their life, you know, like to the afterlife, send them to the soul society so they can do their thing. Hollows, uh hollows, quincies, on the other hand, just kill them without really sending them anywhere. They're just I'm assuming that just means like they're gone. Like if a soul reaper kills one, they go to the soul society. If a Quincy kills one, they don't. That's that's just the end. That's just the end. And they mainly do that because you know, hollows would kill their own. So they're like, you know what, you don't deserve to, I guess, have a second chance. You don't deserve to be able to move on into the soul society. So we're just gonna take you out right here and there. You don't get to do anything, you don't get to enjoy the rest of your life, I guess. I am not sure how it go they go about it, but that's what they do, and so the soul reapers deemed it to be necessary to destroy all the Quincies in order to save this world. I guess the way soul reapers do it, the way they explained it was the way they do it, it's there's like this balance to the world, you know, they help souls pass on, and then eventually those souls get like reincarnated, and that just keeps happening over and over and over and over again. Um, but that can't happen if the Quincies are taking out all the souls, leaving and if they kept doing it, you know, there'd be less and less souls reincarnating. If that makes sense. Um, you know, that's how I that's what I got from it. Uh Ruki lets us know that if the Quincies were to continue going about it the way they were doing, it would have meant the apocalypse. So crazy. And what's wild is we could assume be like, oh, that's why Udiu hates Soul Reapers. He doesn't like Soul Reapers, and we'd assume that's why. No. For when his sensei uh told him this story, I was like, this is why Quincy's were essentially all destroyed, all killed, Udyu agreed. He agreed with the Soul Reapers, you know, there was why he agrees why they had to do it. Completely agrees with them. The reason he hates Soul Reapers so much is because his sensei was murdered by Hollows, and because there was there were supposed to be Soul Reapers in order to go help him, because he called for it, none of them came. They the Hollows killed him, and then Soul Reaper showed up two hours after he died. That's why he hates Soul Reapers. You know? So, you know, we learned that. Um I can't I mean I think they could have just left it at you destroyed my kind, so now I don't like you. I don't know why we needed the whole like because I'm assuming soul reapers are busy, you know. You can't save them all, you can't save them all. As unfortunate as it sounds, you you know, can't save them all. Um we cut to again the competition where they're trying to see who can kill the most hollows. Apparently, there are now so many hollows that Ichigo and Udiu have to work together. And as they're working together, the crack in the sky is getting bigger and bigger and bigger, and then they all look up at the crack in the sky, which is now pretty much a hole in the sky. And what's what's that coming out of the giant crack in the sky? Oh well, I I was I nearly lost it because it's a giant hollow, and I don't mean like oh this one's bigger than most. No, it tau is the size of skyscrapers. Like what? It's insane, and it's like it's just the face, and it's like in a giant cloak with its hands and feet sticking out. It's terrifying. That I oh my a giant hollow! A giant hollow, it's walking out. Rukya's like, oh no. She knows that the only way that these giant hollows or these giant hollows can be handled is with, I forget what she called it, but there's like a specific group of people that need to come by and deal with them, and you know, none of them are there. As she's telling us this, and as the giant hollow is there walking, uh, Keiska and his crew show up, and they're now also killing hollows with a bunch of cool little weapons. This I don't know the name, but there's this little girl who has like this machine gun thing that's killing a bunch of hollows. Pretty cool. The little boy, maybe he's not little. I don't know. Okay. We'll we'll I'm sure we'll get more info on them in the future, but he's killing them with fans, and he lets Ichigo and Udiu know that, like, hey, we'll handle these. You go handle that one. What? Like, what do you what do you what do you mean? Rukya just said there's a specific group that handles these things, and you're just sending Ichigo by himself, I guess with Udiu, but you're just sending Ichigo now. Hey, I don't know much about Kiske. Seems like a pretty trustworthy dude though, uh, to say the least. Uh and of course, to no surprise, Ichigo goes with no hesitation. Oh! We also learned that this giant hollow um is called a menos grande. Maybe I'm saying that wrong, but a menos menos grande, which is basically it's made of hundreds of hundreds of hundreds of mixed, folded, and crushed hollows. Hundreds and hundreds of hollows all mixed together, folded together, and crushed into one? One giant one. So we're talking hundreds upon hundreds of hollows that eventually all get mixed together to make a giant manos grandi. Like what would even cause them to p mix and fold and get crushed into one giant one? I I I don't even I don't even know, and I hope they explain it one of these days. I really do. And as Udio catches up to Ichigo, he um he touches Ichigo's Zonpak toe, and it suddenly makes the bow in his hand like triple in size. It's enormous now! And it turns out that he is low-key kind of by touching it, he is siphoning some of Ichigo's spirit energy and it makes the giant, you know, it makes the bow bigger. And Ichigo not Ichigo, Udyo has his plan for Ichigo to release all of his or as or uh not all of it, but as much spirit energy as he can. And while he does that, Udio is gonna kinda like channel it all so that way he can use it. And as he's talking to him about this, Ichigo he he lets Ichigo know that he has to be able to control it in order to, you know. Because so much is coming out that Ichigo has to like direct it towards Udyu, and then that's when Ichigo lets him know it's like I don't even know how to do that. And Udyu lets us know that you eventually do run out of spirit energy, like you can run out of it, and I'm assuming that just leads to you being absolutely exhausted. Like, dang, I have no like when when they when animes are like, oh, we have chi, but I've used up all of my chi, I can no longer really use these like cool powers, right? So he's letting Ichigo know, or he's just there's this conversation he's having in his head that he's like if he doesn't know so there's there's an amount of energy spirit energy that somebody has, and it can run out, and obviously it can go back up, but and Udyu knows that Ichigo is like constantly releasing spirit energy. He didn't know how much spirit energy he was releasing until he touched Ichigo's Sazan Pakto. But then he's like, okay, wait, if Ichigo's constantly letting out this amount of spirit energy, he should have run out of it a long ass time ago. But the fact that he has this much coming out still must mean that he has an insane, an insane amount of spirit energy. And again, Ichigo doesn't bother to listen. He goes right towards the Menos Grande, and this Menos Grande is now releasing this like spirit bomb-like attack on Ichigo, throws it at him, and Ichigo's just tanking it. He's blocking it with his onpocto, and it's just holding it, trying to make sure he doesn't die, or who knows, maybe if it hits the ground, the world ends. I don't even know. And Udo's like, not only is Ichigo always letting out us an insane amount of spirit energy, but as he's holding the the attack from the Menos Grande, his spirit energy is actually growing. Ichigo kind of hones it in and throws one slash at the Menos Grande so strong with the amount of spirit energy that he had that it s does a huge slash on the Menos Grande, and it hurt it so bad that it retreated back to its world. He didn't kill it, but he did in fact make him retreat, and um but yeah, his Zompakto was glowing, slices him up, and oh yeah, his Zompakto starts glowing, and it apparently it's because he released so much of his ener his spirit energy that the Zompakto is starting to break down, and so in order to stop it, Udyu starts like absorbing some of this uh spirit energy and throwing it into the air with the with the Z um. I don't know if there's a specific name for it yet, but his little bow and arrow thing that he uses, like he's shooting up Ichigo's energy, so like to take the take the the the wear and tear off of the sword, take all that pressure off of it. And his arm is just gashed and bleeding, and Ichigo's like, you know, you should stop doing that. Like, you're hurting yourself, you're bleeding, you're gonna make it worse. And Udio's just like, How about you shut up? Okay, you all you have to do is stay alive so I can kick your ass in the future when one of these days. And he helps out. Helps or saves Ichigo, or saves the Zompak 2 at the very least, and he's just like left there, kind of apologizing to his grandfather for not being able to save him, and that's how episode 14 ends. Insane two episodes. Insane. I I had no idea where this competition could go besides your typical, like, ha, I win, therefore I'm better than you, and then them, you know, argue from there on out. No, what the hell is uh was this Menos Grande thing absolutely insane? And then on top of that, we got Orohime with powers. Absolutely crazy. Episode 15, on the other hand, not as great. And honestly, it should not have come to a surprise that not much, if anything, really happened in episode 15 because we just got through a little crazy arc, like three to four episode arc of hey, there's this person watching them. Oh, it's Udiu. Oh, he's a Quincy, competition, and now we have a Menos Grande, right? Actually insane. So it's like I said, it's no surprise that episode 15 pretty much did nothing. Um, but episode 5 literally episode 15 is quite literally nothing because all that happens is Rukia is thinking about the Menos Grande and Ichigo. She then is thinking about how long she's been there and that she shouldn't be there much longer. This is also like a cones day out type of thing where he gets mad at Ichigo, so he leaves the house and he's exploring the world on his own. Okay, and of course it's like not gonna be great for him. Uh Ichigo and everybody's at school. Uryu comes in late because of all the damage he took from the previous day. Invites him out to lunch, but they're still bickering the whole time. Cut back to Kiske, and there's this black cat, and he says that it's his best friend, and the cat's name is Yoro Ichi. And it's also while we're at school with Ichigo and his friends that oh well Orohime asked Rukia out for lunch, so her and all the girls were having lunch, and where it is now confirmed, where it is now confirmed that Orohime likes Ichigo. Like we c they haven't full on said it before, but it's kind of like implied that like hey, she has a crush on him. But yeah, Orohime officially likes Ichigo. Um at the end of the day, Rukia wants to tell Ichigo something, but she's interrupted by Ichigo's annoying ass friends. Doesn't end up telling him. Um and she ends up running away. She actually ends up running away, and she says that there are two she says that there are two other people already here to come and get her. But who? But who? I'm pretty sure she runs away to kind of like spare Ichigo. Like she knows that they sent one dude, they managed to like, you know, not have to leave. And I'm pretty positive that she realizes that the next two people that they send are gonna be way stronger, and that she doesn't want Ichigo to be caught up in all of that. So I'm pretty sure that's why she ran away. We come to find out that, of course, no surprise, it was not one, but two. I mean, I already said how many there were. It was there were two soul two Soul Reapers. We get one quick look at them at the end of the episode, and that's that. So yeah, wasn't lying when I said episode 15 is literally nothing. It should have just really just been like a a Rukia-centered episode and all that stuff. The cone stuff, didn't really care. He actually ends up going back home and apologizing to Ichigo for leaving, and Ichigo's just like, well, why the hell'd you leave? I didn't know you left. Yeah, their little banter and all that stuff. Not much of anything else. The only two major things we learned was that there are now two Soul Reapers here looking for Rukia and that Urahime likes Ichigo. So pretty big things from episode 15. All in all, though, episodes 13-14, crazy. Specifically episode 14, because we had that Menos Grande. Yo, I'm excited to see. And on top of that, when the Menos Grande left, he didn't like get sucked back into the hole. He kind of like hid behind the crack that he created that or that it created, and kind of pulled the crack over to hide itself as if it was like a curtain or something. Really weird, like choice of like this is how it's going back. I don't know. It was really cool, cool and weird in a cool way, you know. So those two episodes were insane, absolutely insane. Ichigo, us finding out that Ichigo not just has a high amount of spirit energy, but like an insane amount to the point where like he's constantly pouring out tons and tons of spirit energy, but he has so many that he never gets exhausted from releasing it. Imagine if he does control it one day, how insane he'll be. I don't know, just just uh just you know thinking out loud here. But yeah, those were episodes 13, 14, and 15 of Bleach. Hope you guys enjoyed them as much as I did, or I hope you guys enjoyed me talking about them as much as I did, because damn. I as soon as I say episode 15's kind of nothing, and it was like surpr you know, not surprising because they just got done with this little like arc of like giant or giant hollow, and there's a bunch of other hollows, and squinties are now a thing, right? Um but they end with like a but wait, it's about to get more serious. Not in terms of like there's gonna be crazier hollows, I don't know how crazy hollows can actually get, but that you know, we now got two soul reapers, and this isn't just a random one, they they look they look more serious at the very least, they look more serious, so it's gonna be exciting to see what the next few episodes of Bleach have in store for us. So, yes, those are episodes 13, 14, 15. Hope you guys enjoyed. Once again, I've been your host. Don't forget to follow us over on Instagram at RevanGoPod. We're on the road to 300 followers.
