SPEAKER_02

Hello and welcome back to the Reven and Go Reviews podcast. I'm your host, Andy. I'm joined once again, and well, for always, by Adam. We're here continuing our Road to Doomsday. This episode, we're diving back into the X-Men universe with X2. Yes, I know. We're only two the second we're only the second movie into the whole universe. Whatever. Adam, we're here. We're back with the X-Men. Yeah, we're back.

SPEAKER_05

And better than ever, I have to say.

SPEAKER_02

100%. You guys heard our first uh review for the first X-Men movie, X-Men movie, X-Men movie. You know, hey, it's a start. It's it's definitely a start. And I say for the most part, I'm surprised they got a sequel. I'm genuinely surprised. But we got the sequel. And it's all I know it's impossible. And and I said this off not off camera, off mic before we were recording. Where it's almost as if, again, I know it's impossible, but it's almost as if they heard us complain, went back in time, and and made the second movie to be better. Because this second movie with a dumb name, mind you, X2 X-Men United. It should have just been X-Men United, honestly. Whatever. Yeah. It's so good. It's so much better than the last one.

SPEAKER_05

I know. It's literally night and day almost, man.

SPEAKER_02

It's dead ass, night and day. I think every single thing that they tried to do in this movie is infinitely better than everything they did in the last one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Besides maybe uh Wolverine's hair. I wasn't too crazy about his hair in this movie. But that's pretty much it, because this movie is so good. Even just like from the get-go, it's good because we get this awesome, awesome opening scene featuring a new mutant. Unless he was shown in the last one and I just don't remember because it's been a while. And that's Nightcrawler.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, yeah, the famous Nightcrawler opening. Oh, that scene rolls, man.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my gosh. Showing him taking out guards left and right, all while, like, you know, you know. Teleporting and yeah, teleporting exactly. Um, mind you, he's not killing them, so you know, there is some like redeemable things about it, but taking these guys out, taking these guys out with ease in such a cool way, awesome. It's such a good opening scene. It's like a way to showcase a new mutant. Again, I don't remember if he was in the last one. Uh way to showcase this mutant's powers and just how dangerous or how yeah, I get to show how dangerous one uh power like this can be. Because you know, it's the X-Men. Bunch, not even just X-Men, but mutants in general, bunch of different powers. This is just one of them. It's absolutely insane. Absolutely insane. Actually, I think I need actually get the guy's name out. And I feel like Alan Cumming? Yes, there you go.

SPEAKER_05

Alan Cumming, yeah, I remember. It was uh he's great. He's he's fantastic as a nightcrawler, by the way. I really gotta say, they really got the casting down. Even this it's just I wish they just get the writing down all the time.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Um, but yeah, it's like things we talked about in the last again. We're gonna I feel like it in this case, you know, it's very fair to compare the first movie to this movie, because one thing we talked about is like, yes, you have these characters who are like main characters in that of Scott Summers, Gene Gray, uh Halle Berry who plays Storm, right? You have all these characters, awesome, but it's almost as if they didn't have it in the budget for them to do anything besides Wolverine.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Honestly, the first movie feels way more like a Wolverine movie than an X-Men movie. So, but with these like X-Men characters just sprinkled throughout that do literally nothing. We complained about how little all of these people do. And in this movie, there's just like, no, they're gonna do so much more. On top of introducing a lot more characters and showcasing a lot more powers, whether they be in a cool way, like building an ice wall out of nothing, or yeah, same dude with the same ice powers, just um making a Dr. Pepper cold. Cool down a Dr. Pepper.

SPEAKER_05

Was this the one where he makes the ice skates too? I thought that was cool. I think so, yeah. This is where they skate on the fountain, and I thought, oh, that's nice.

SPEAKER_02

And again, these aren't like uh I'm pretty sure you and we uh we talked about in the last movie where the first X-Men movie, it's really dark. Like no, I mean they're in black suits, they only fight at night. They're showcasing all these powers in in essentially broad daylight in some cases. They're like, oh yeah, we're just gonna make a whole ice wall, which was practical by the way, which is absolutely insane.

SPEAKER_05

I know the effects really get a huge bump up.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

And I'm like, thank god.

SPEAKER_02

And X X2 is again, I've seen all the X movies already, you know, it's been they've seen it for years. This is the one I don't remember. I remember the first one, I remember the third one, I don't remember this movie at all. So it was almost as if I was re-watching this for the first time. Like I knew at some scenes popped up, like um that one security guard getting filled up with something by Mystique, and then Magneto sucking the metal out of his body. Dude, I like I remember that, right? I completely forgot it was from this movie. It is insanely brutal. It is insanely it's one like one of the most brutal things we might ever see in an X-Men movie, but like slowly seeing the metal come out, but you don't really see the metal, you just see like the spurts of blood, like mist, really, until he, you know, uh takes all the metal out, kills the dude. It's so it's so crazy.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It's it's it's like do they really like handle all these new like handle the mutant powers so much better? Like, because we one of our main complaints in the first one was that they don't know, like they never seem to use their powers, and they use it like quick seconds, and it it feels com all their powers feel completely underutilized.

SPEAKER_02

Oh 100%.

SPEAKER_05

But here it feels so much better, like them using like even like we said the day-to-day stuff while they use their powers, like Iceman using his powers just to make you like an ice skating ring or for a rogue for his date with rogue. I thought, oh, that's cool. Like, you know, like there's just such like or was this the movie too where he steals like Cyclops' car or something, and he just like jams his claw in there and turns it. Yeah, yeah, that's right. Yeah, it was that, and then that was cool. Like, yeah, you know what I mean? But like it's cool. Uh I think Colossus shows up day bees in this movie too.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he does by helping out uh Wolverine. He doesn't say a word. No, I think he just says, I can help and uh Wolverine just tells him, Yes, get the children out of here. Speaking of Wolverine, dude, I oh yeah, oh my god, we got like our iconic Wolverine, Hugh Jackman, screaming and tearing people apart with no with no blood. It was it's crazy to see because I compare this to the the Logan one where he's running down the forest, tearing people apart and all that stuff. And then we get essentially the same thing here where he's running around um and he's stabbing people left and right, slicing them left and right, and they don't it's like it's like the same scene from Logan, just no blood. Yeah, he does not hold back, and it's it's glorious, it's absolutely glorious.

SPEAKER_05

It's great, it's fantastic. Like, like we said, everyone's on full display here, no hiding, no more holding back. People are fighting with their all their powers, and it's sick, dude. It is really cool. The action in this movie is really great, and I'm yes.

SPEAKER_02

One of the people we um we really were disappointed in in the last movie because they got like because we know that she is like top tier, top level in terms of power uh X-Men slash mutants. Um, and that's uh Storm. Yep, an absolute joke in the last movie. They're like, oh, we have to save the one time she uses her, like she summons lightning for the very end of the scene. And besides that, the rest of her fighting is all hand to hand, and but like it's like those, it's like like we said, it was a start in terms of introducing the X-Men characters, and the fight scenes in the last movie were all I'd say terrible, unless you're Wolverine. In this one, she's they're like, okay, she's in there. I don't know the name of the plane. At least I don't remember it. Yeah, but they're in there and she's summoning like tornadoes, not just one, but like so many. So many tornadoes. And she's just sitting there. She's sitting there in the seat, and she's like tilting her head and taking on the jets with the with the tornadoes.

SPEAKER_05

I dude, that was sick. Oh, and we can see word. Uh oh, I I I and plus because a lot I think we get a lot of cool scenes about how like mutants are seen too. Like I really like the scene where they're at what with Iceman's um uh uh parents' house.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

It gives us a good look at the what the outside world thinks of them. Yeah, and like you see how his parents are just like freaking out and like the they're like in almost in denial about his powers and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_02

And while also like subtly um insulting the the rest of the X-Men, because she says something about her son, and of all people, uh Wolverine takes like offense to he. She's he's just like, What do you mean by that? And because she's afraid, she answers scarily. Or scarily, but um, yeah, and like like I said, this is these are X-Men movies. The even though like Wolverine is the main character, um, and this is uh the character development for Wolverine across just these two movies alone is insane. Yeah. Like he comes so far from the first movie, and it's maybe it's like crazy to think this, like the the arc that he has in this movie in retrospect, because you'd you I feel like you'd expect this kind of arc by like the third movie. Of course, they don't know if they're gonna do a third movie unless they already did. I don't think so. But they give him an a very, very nice arc from being the like he's pretty much a dick in the first movie, especially to Scott. No surprise, yeah. Hey, surprise, surprise, they don't like each other, whatever. Surprise, surprise, but like from going from here to like not just like defending everybody there, but also like being like standing up for I don't remember his name.

SPEAKER_05

Uh standing up for other fellow mutants. Which which which powers was he? The ice one.

SPEAKER_02

Ice guy.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, Bobby, yeah, it's Iceman.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, there he is. Bobby Drake. Bobby Drake.

SPEAKER_05

It was Bobby Drake. Okay, it's Bobby Drake Iceman. He's actually one of my favorite uh X-Men from the comics. Though honestly, he's like nothing like the comic version.

SPEAKER_02

Comic book adaptation must mean we gotta remember this.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah. I understand. Like, you can't do everything. Honestly, who knows how well he would have been received if he was the more comic book accurate. Because he was like a very like flirtatious, you know, ladies' man.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And plus, like, I feel like if you are gonna make them flirtatious, like he's not even like there's like tiers to like main character levels. He's not in the top tier. He's just yeah, for the sake of all the X-Men movies, he's really just a side character, like side, side, side character. Um, yeah. But again, this is also like we're not gonna take these comic book characters very that seriously. We're in that era of like, hey, we're taking these movies still, and they're still dressed in black, you know. I'm not crazy about the uh about the suits.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean they're not bad, but like for like for them to be X-Men and they're like, oh, we'll give them a yellow trim. Uh they just look like really nice motorcycle jackets.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's essentially what they are. Some either that or some BDSM gear or some dead ass, dude.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

One of the one of the sh like shining things for me in this movie, again, top to bottom, this movie is way better than the last one. Like, infinitely better, like you said, night and day. Um, one thing in this movie that I really really liked, and I think shines above a lot of things that are also great in this movie, are Ian McKellen or Magneto and Mystique's relationship. And it's not romantic in any way, but it's just like they it feels like these two have been it's like as if we they feel like they both work. Yeah, they bounce off each other so well. Their chemistry is insanely good. They say so much by just kind of just like staring at each other and nodding, like they know what they're thinking. Somebody else is speaking, Magneto's thinking something, he just looks at Mystique, kind of like rolls his eyes or nods his head or grunts or something, and like she gets it, she absolutely gets it, and so their relationship, their chemistry, anytime they're on screen together, even if they're just like being dead serious, or they're just making fun of somebody, it's great. It's great. Yeah, absolutely great. I'm looking at these costumes and I just for the most part don't like them.

SPEAKER_05

Uh you're yeah, like this this these movies really do do a good job of establishing like previous like relationships. Like we know, um we we know Mystique and like she really does feel Mystique really does feel like his right hand, you know? Yes. His most loyal like you know, subordinate, and then there's like the chemist uh how'd you like the chemistry between Rogue and uh Bobby, uh Ice fan? I it's a weird one because it's like this is like movie-only relationship.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't mind it.

SPEAKER_05

Didn't mind it. Uh honestly though, I'm still like kind of scratching my head why there's a thing between Gene and Wolverine.

SPEAKER_02

I know, I think from the last movie, I I sit I think it's simply to for Wolverine and Cyclops to just not like each other more.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like the fact that and this stems from the last movie. I feel like he tones it down more in this movie. In the last movie, from the get-go, Wolverine is just super, super flirtatious towards Gene and like makes does not uh shame or hide away from the fact that he really wants her. And this one, don't get me wrong, still wants her, but it's less so like off looks and more so off, you know. Yeah, it's like they flirt, but not like the flirting you'd think they do. It's just like it's very small, it's very subtle. It's mostly like in body language and all that stuff, but like with that said though, I I I'm not I'm also not crazy about uh their relationship just to make Scott mad. Yeah, it's and plus like we we we Hikey know, like it can't happen unless you're gonna like let's just say they did get together. Now I don't like them.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, exactly. Because like we use F over Scott and other kind of assholes for it.

SPEAKER_02

And now how's Scott supposed to potentially take it, assuming they get together? Like, oh yeah, okay. Well, we're still a team, and like, no, it's just not how it goes. So I'm not crazy about it. It'd be nice to get some history stuff with Gene and Scott, because I think they look good together as a couple, but more so than uh Gene and Well, hey, you know if this was you know, if this was later in the year, they would have done more of the recent comic shit, which is where like apparently they're in a polycule now, the three of them.

SPEAKER_05

Oh gosh. Yeah, yeah. It's uh yeah, though the I don't know. That's funny. I thought that was funny that they did that. Like so. But you know, there's no way they would get away with it back in ear, what was it, early 2000s? No way.

SPEAKER_02

Um like I said, in terms of like from the last movie, even characters like Gene Gray do more than they did in the last movie. Really dig it. It's like they have way more to do. Um, I wasn't a huge fan of Rogue in the last movie.

SPEAKER_05

I she's a little bit better here. I can tolerate her in this one. But to be fair, it's I think it's mainly because she's not in the focus anymore. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

She's not focused.

SPEAKER_05

She's just sort of she's like honestly as side, she's as much of a side character as Bobby is.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah. And like in the last movie, she's she's like essential for Magneto's plot and everything. So no surprise that she had to be like at the forefront of it all. Um but they really she like they dialed back with her in this movie.

SPEAKER_05

To be fair, I think that was also just because they needed someone new and to be introduced to all this, so the audience can be introduced to all the X-Men meeting stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you have a point.

SPEAKER_05

I think that was just a writing question used her for.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Um, someone we haven't talked about. Patrick Stewart. He Oh, always great.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it's just still good in the he was good in the first one. He's still good here, folks.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. He's the only great one that carries over, besides Wolverine. Like I said, I had issues with everybody besides um Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, and Ian McKellen. But like, they were great in the first one, and they're great this one. Hugh Jackman, I guess everybody here does better in the this one that they did in the last one. Hugh Jackman, he was already really good in the last one. He doesn't just do his role better, he does it like insanely better.

SPEAKER_05

This the the cool thing is they actually well he really because this movie really does focus on him, his backstory, yes, and his like, you know, his past demons. And like he and like Ujack, surprise, surprise. I mean, it was a prize back then, but like, I mean, obviously we know now how good of an actor he is.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But like, yeah, he he really rose to the occasion and delivered like not just the anger, but the pain, you know, the and the and the sadness, and that is Wolverine.

SPEAKER_04

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_05

And I think it's I think he's I think this was a great movie and show this was a great I think what is this? This probably launched his career, I think this one.

SPEAKER_02

I know I think people were people were I I've seen people review the first X Men movie, and that this was their like so you know, this is Their first version of Wolverine, Hugh Jackman, and people weren't happy about it because people were stuck in the heck. People are some people are still stuck in those ways where they're like, hey, in the comic book, he's this height, and in real life, Hugh Jackman's this height. They want their comic book accurate stuff.

SPEAKER_05

Dude, there's people who still complain about Michael Keaton playing Batman in the 1980s. I'm like, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. Um people complain about uh Heath Ledger. Like, oh, he can't be the Joker. He's too handsome. Hugh Jackman can't be Wolverine. He's too tall. And look what those look what all those actors did. They all put in the work and they showed out. And now, in some cases, they are that role forever.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, they are the how the character like look at Nick Fury. You know, Nick Fury was a white dude before this, before Avengers. He was just a white dude running in the jungle. And now he's now now he they said Nick Fury's performance. He is now always depicted. Well, they did a funny way of doing it. Where like the the name Nick Fury is like a mantle passed down from son to son. But you know. Yeah. To explain why, like, well, they did it to explain why like Nick Fleury was fighting in World War II, meet with Steve Rogers back in the day, and then now fighting in the modern day. It's like, oh yeah, they're this they're not the next thing Nick Fury, they're just like their father and son. I'm like, oh okay.

SPEAKER_02

And if people were still hesitant for Hugh Jackman as Logan slash Wolverine from the first one, this one solidified it. Absolutely solidified it.

SPEAKER_05

Because he good writing, good, good acting, man. That's all it is.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, we didn't even talk about the writing because the writing in this one is way better than the first one.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah, it scores better. The dialogue's better. The pacing's a way better. And everything makes sense. You can actually still follow along what the heck everyone they're even talking about.

SPEAKER_02

There aren't characters where I'm like, uh, why are we on screen with them? That being that being uh rogue.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, my problem was uh yeah, they they use the characters to the appropriate degree. Like I like like we said, like Rogue and Bobby are like side characters, but they still have like a few moments to shine to like them, and you know. He gave us just enough of them.

SPEAKER_02

Just enough, which is like all you needed because this again, this is about other characters.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Uh another thing is I really like that, like here's the thing. The other thing is like I we had to just like a lot of this stuff just sort of happened. Like, that whole what was it, the whole machine that turns people mutants, we're just supposed to just like nod along, like, alright, suspend your disbelief, folks. This one I feel like okay, the plan makes way more sense now. I can understand what's happening, what they're trying to do, what's happening, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. It's less so like because that whole like, hey, we have to do this thing to turn people into mutants, and uh we need specifically this girl over here because Magneto can no longer do it. Uh yeah, yeah. Uh like we said, we said in the first episode, first review of the first movie. It's a start.

SPEAKER_05

It's a start.

SPEAKER_02

It's a start. This movie picks up that ball and runs with it. Runs with it. We didn't even talk about um the fact that the the one of the aspects of this movie is Gene Gray like wanting to figure out how powerful she is and wanting to do stuff, yeah and it all eventually leads to her she's saving people, but in order to do all that, she has to sacrifice herself.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And she sacrifices herself as a hero, and the scene that like was just it obviously Scott heartbroken. That's his girl.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's his girl. Who's there to carry him?

SPEAKER_02

Was it Patrick Stewart? No. Was it Storm? No. Was it uh Bobby Drake? No, no, no, was it Magnino using his mental powers to help him levitate? No. Losses? No, you Jackmans Wolverine.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Because they both loved her and he and they both lost her, so they they kinda exactly, and he's holding him because Scott's devastated. Like he's he's basically thrown himself. He's like, ah, ah, and Wolverine being tough as fuck, but still he also lost the girl he loves. I don't know why.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That emotion that Hugh Jackman can just turn it on and show you just how hurt he is while also still being there, whether he likes to admit it or not, but a potential friend. Uh it's it's it's it's amazing.

SPEAKER_05

And yeah, you know what, and another thing to add to that is like it also does a great foreshadowing because, you know, as we would later know, this is not the first time he's lost somebody. Oh, yeah. This is what and it shows his emotional maturity of how to handle that. Like, he knows exactly how Scott feels, uh, and he's trying to do his best to make him feel better. And I'm like, oh, it's a nice touch for foreshadowing, too. So I'm like, ooh. I'm like, uh, it was a great scene between those actors. God, I hope they give Marson to do. I hope to god they give James Marson more to do in Doomsday. Oh pray to God, give him his dues, man. That poor guy.

SPEAKER_02

They really better. They freaking better because X-Men last stand. Oh my gosh, that would be so mad.

SPEAKER_05

I'm excited to hear your opinion about this. That movie is very divisive.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, I know. He has like a lot of that episode is to come, guys. That episode is to come. But I'm excited for it. But yeah, that scene where, like you mentioned, this is uh this is a Wolverine. This is a Logan who's who's this isn't his first loss, and he's dealing with somebody. As far as we know, this was Scott's first loss, serious loss. Again, it's his girl, and even though Logan's hurt, he's there for him, like he's holding him, holding him up, and he's just we we can see the heartbreak from him, and it's glorious.

SPEAKER_03

It's it's beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

SPEAKER_02

Um this movie, I it's I as I was watching it, I was like, not even halfway through the movie. I'm like, why is this and how is this? Better than the first one.

SPEAKER_03

I'm going to check who the actors who the directors were. I think I have it up. Okay, directed by uh Brian Singer. Both of them?

SPEAKER_02

Uh he did director Brian Singer for the first one. He did both?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he did both. Alright, then I don't know what it is. Who's the writer the writer for the first one? I'm sorry guys, we're the screenplay was by the same person.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know what I don't know how they did it. It's almost as if they had to like introduce them in the first one in a weird way just to get them out there. And then the second one, they're like, Alright, now we can really and they do it, they really do flesh out all these characters because there's like nothing to any of them in the first one. And this one they're like, here's everything, absolutely everything.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I forget what we gave the first movie.

SPEAKER_02

Do you remember what we gave the first movie? I do not, but I know I'm giving this one. What what did you give the first one?

SPEAKER_05

If you had to give the first one a move a one right now, I I wonder if I I think I keep it a six.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Like a D. Like it was like not because it wasn't horrible. It's just like it just has a lot of problems.

SPEAKER_02

I think looking back at it, it has a lot of problems.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I think this one's infinitely better than that. Infinitely better than that one. But yeah, that was that's X-Men 2.

SPEAKER_02

Way way more of an improvement from the first one. And again, the first one is actually still like rated pretty highly. I just checked it right now. The first X-Men movie is sitting at an 82% Adam. Wow. 82%. Now I don't know if that's like, hey, we I don't know when Rotten Tomatoes became a thing. But it's sitting at an 82%. At some point people reviewed it, obviously. And it's fucking 82. I don't know if this is like, hey, it got 82% 20 years ago, and nothing's really changed since then because people aren't gonna go review it again. I don't know. But it's sitting at an 82. I I don't think it's an 82 or 8 out of 10 movie. I really don't. Um like I've said it's a start, it's a solid start. Um, I would have given the first one a seven. Um, what would you give X-Men 2 on a scale from 1 to 10, Adam?

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna give it an 8. 8.5, I could.

SPEAKER_02

I would also give it an 8. I don't do points, but I'd give it in the in the high eights, mid to high eights. Oh, which is still like an 8.5 up, but I'd give it an eight out of ten. Ron Tomatoes has this at 85% um and IMDB has it at 7.4. And just because it's showing it, IGN also has it at 8 out of 10. Just wow. It it I think everything that we l liked about the first one, but it kind of fleshed out and built upon it. Everything we didn't like about the first one, this one did better and like made up for it. I think for me the biggest thing is the is is the action. Because the action legitimately bothered me in the last one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, the action was really lacking.

SPEAKER_02

And this one just that Wolverine scene alone makes up for it. Yeah. And you know what? They did storm justice by some her having her summon those tornadoes.

SPEAKER_05

Oh wow, hey, I just looked it up. We gave the X1 like sevens. We both gave it like a seven. Um, I think I think we uh honestly I was probably being a little generous because you know but like I get I g again, hindsight's a bitch. What are we gonna do?

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. Um like I said, I what you gave it an 8.5. You actually gave it exactly what Rotten Tomatoes gave it. They gave it a 85%. You gave it an 8.5, I gave it an 8 out of 10. Just I really enjoyed re-watching this one. I really did.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I wasn't I didn't know what to expect because like I said, it's the one I don't remember. Plus, I wasn't, even though I gave it a seven out of ten, I wasn't crazy about the first one. Um, and this one just blew my mind. Really?

SPEAKER_03

I can't remember.

SPEAKER_02

The bar was low for me.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and now we'll see what where that bar goes when we hit X3 last stand.

SPEAKER_02

Eventually, because now that we're done talking about X2, X-Men United, it's time to talk about what we'll be talking about next week, and that is going to be us continuing the MCU. We're hopping back into the MCU to continue phase three as we talk about Spider-Man Homecoming. That one. That's a lot about that one, not just about what we thought about the movie, but like this is granted, he was in Civil War, uh, but this is like the Spider-Man is back. Like, here he is back, and this is what we're doing with him. Do we like it? Do we hate it? You'll just have to find out. So stay tuned next week to find out what we think about that movie. We're not gonna say anything about it right now because you guys have to go check that episode out. Oh my goodness. I forgot to mention this at the beginning of the episode, too. If you guys haven't done it already, go follow us on Instagram at Reven and GoPod for a bunch of fun posts, podcast updates, and mine and Adam's quick movie reviews, one paragraph reviews over there. Check it out. Adam recently just did Train Dreams, check it out. Excellent movie, excellent movie.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, just won an Oscar. It it's great, it's a great movie.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, it is. Go check out the movie, go check out Adam's review, and stay tuned for next week's Spider Man homecoming episode.

SPEAKER_01
