SPEAKER_01

Hello and welcome back to the Reven and Go Reviews podcast. I'm your host, Andy. I'm here joined for always by Adam. And we're here with our season seven premiere episode. And it's just not any premiere episode. We're going huge with the movie that we're talking about today. And that is Avengers Infinity War. Adam, how are we doing? Season seven premiere.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, I'm doing great. Fantastic. I'm sorry. I talked about probably my most memorable one of my most memorable experiences in the in the in the theaters in general.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, same dude. Absolutely same. We'll have some stories about it as we're going through the movie. But yeah, we're here. Season seven. If you listened to the previous episode, the season six finale, you know we talked about Black Panther. Hell of a movie. And what a movie that followed it. We're finally here, Adam. We're talking about Avengers Infinity War. Not just one of, like you said, one of your best theater experiences. Definitely one of my best theater experiences. And I think I don't think, maybe besides Endgame, there won't ever be another movie that had this much hype going into it.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no. No, no. This thing was. This was the movie of the decade.

SPEAKER_01

Not just of the movie of the decade, but like, do you remember the hype around was it LA Comic San Diego Comic Con? It was either San Diego Comic Con or like D23. It was one of those two where they first showed the trailer for uh Avengers Infinity War, and all we got, because you know we're not allowed in there, only you had to be one of the people that got one of the lucky people that got to go in there and see it. I remember hearing the descriptions of it, and I'm like, I have to. And then I saw the leaked trailer of it, like someone recorded it, and I my oh dude, I it kicked it up another notch for me. And we were still like a year out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. This was like the most anticipated thing ever. Um since like Avengers 1, honestly.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. The thing is, like, with me, I was I know I s I went to go see the first Avengers in theaters, but I wasn't too like on online, like on the internet and all that stuff. So I didn't I didn't and I wasn't really watching YouTube, so I wasn't watching people talk about theories, uh, trailer reactions. I don't even think trailer reactions were even you know that much of a thing in 2012. Um like the hype it was like I I would see the trailers for the first one, and I'd be like, okay, cool, I'm gonna go watch it. But like at this point, Avengers Infinewar, we've had nearly 10 years of no, I think this is 10 years. Yeah, because this came out in 18 and Iron Man came out in 08, right? Yeah, I believe, I believe, I think I'm right. I think I'm right. So this is 10 years in the making. Yeah, and I I don't think we'll ever get anything like this. Ever. Like 10 years worth of movies that even though they were like their own movies, at the end of the day, that it was all leading to something more. Even the first Avengers movie teased Thanos, yeah. The second Avengers movie teased Thanos, more so like confirmed that this is the direction we're going in. And we finally got it here. Before we get into it though, Adam, you guys gotta make sure you follow us over on Instagram at Reven and GoPod for a bunch of fun posts. As per usual, you can find our quick movie reviews over there. One paragraph quick reviews of movies that me and Adam review. You can check out his most recent review of Remarkably Bright Creatures, which he gave a what out of ten, Adam.

SPEAKER_02

What oh uh I gave it a nine out of ten. Sorry, Sally Sally Field and Lewis Pullman and Alpha Merlina as the octopus. Uh, if you get the joke, you get the joke.

SPEAKER_01

I have not seen the movie, but I've read the review, so I'll watch the movie and then I'll eventually get your joke. So go check that out. You can check out um at the time of a by the time this pod goes out. My most recent review will have been of They Will Kill You. Go check that one out. You can also check out my review of Radier Not 2. So, you know, go check that out over there, as well as a bunch of other fun post podcast updates as well. Check out what um episodes are coming out and whatnot. So make sure you follow us over there on Instagram at Revit Info On. Okay, Adam. Let's get into it. Let's get into Avengers Infinity War. Now, ooh, ooh, I've I am I know he said we get into it, but I I've been waiting for this. I've really been waiting for us to get to this movie. Um, and just like re-watching this movie. I I don't know what it is. It's it's so damn good. Let's get into it. Oh yeah. Right off the rip, you know, we get our usual Marvel Studios logo uh in intro, whatever, but it's different. It's silent, and we're hearing like uh a Mayday calls or whatever, like telling them to hey, quit firing at us. This movie picks off, picks up right where Thor Ragnarok left off. If you guys remember Thor Ragnarok, and it maybe if you listen to our review of Thor Ragnarok, if you haven't, go check that out. Um, we know that that movie ends with oh, Thor Asgard's destroyed, Hella's gone. But you know what? Asgard is a people, not a place. We all hopped on this ship and we're off. And right before they can really get going, they're stopped by an even bigger ship. Massive ship. It's it's it dwarfs the ship that Thor is on. And I think we knew then that that was Thanos, and that is confirmed here as the camera pans, and you see bodies on the floor. You hear a voice kind of narrating some stuff, not really narrating, but like it's Ebony Maw, one of the children of Thanos, talking to these people, telling them how much of an honor it is that they're being basically killed by Thanos, right?

SPEAKER_02

You think you think Thanos would have given him a break considering how much they already lost?

SPEAKER_01

Technically, he did. Cause so of the people that we see there, we see Thor there, we see we eventually see Hulk there, we see Loki there. We don't see the rest of the cast from um Thor Ragnarok.

SPEAKER_03

We don't see Valkyrie, we don't see what's the rock guy's name? Uh Org?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if that's his name. That maybe isn't isn't his name. I'm not too sure. But we don't see him there. Um we kind of don't find out till a little they don't really tell us. We just assume that, like, okay, he let half of the people in the ship basically get to safety. So half of the people had to like kind of like sacrifice themselves. And we see right there, Thor is one of the people that chose to stay. Yeah, so we can see Thor is one of the people who stayed, rightfully so. You know, he is the king of Asgard and all that stuff. Um, and he is already beaten to a pulp by Thanos. Like, Thanos, we don't really see it's kind of like off-screen right before we get to them. But Thanos beat his ass, beat him to a pulp. And yeah, and they're there, they're talking, so obviously being jokey. He's and then we hear the famous line from the trailer that I love. Um, like he says, like, fear turns the legs to jelly, dread it, run from it, destiny arrives, all the same. Or should I say, I have oh, so good. And we see that Thanos already has the Power Stone. What? Okay, they will they address this later on on how he got it, but last we saw the Power Stone, it was left on I don't remember the planet. You remember the planet?

SPEAKER_03

Uh Nova.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they left it on Nova back in the first Guardians movie. They left it over there. Okay, so we know somehow, some way, Thanos got the Power Stone from there. See, something fun about something fun going into this movie and like theorizing and all that stuff was okay, as of right now, we know Thanos has no infinity stones. So if they're going by hey, Thanos needs them, then we know he's bound to get them. It's just a matter of how he gets them. So I thought that was gonna be fun going into this movie. Not fun in the sense of like the way he'll get them, but like, okay, we're gonna see him go after these, and we're gonna try to see our heroes kind of try to stop him from doing it. Um, so yeah, he has the power stone. Um, Loki's there, he's there for the Tesseract. Thor's like, we don't have it, it was destroyed on Asgard. And of course, because we saw it in Ragnarok, where Thor told Loki, hey, go get Surger's crown. And as he went to go get it, he passed by the Tesseract. They didn't show him steal it, but we all assumed he stole it, and our assumption was correct because he stole the Tesseract.

SPEAKER_02

We knew we knew we could he could keep his grubby hands off it.

SPEAKER_01

Nope. And he makes it, you know, appear out of thin air because he's the he's magical and all that stuff. And Thor tells him you really are the worst brother. And he ends up giving it to Tesseract. Giving it to Thanos. Thanos crushes the Tesseract, and inside that uh the Tesseract is the space stone. Really cool. And he puts it on his gauntlet, and in the midst of all this, um Loki tells him, he basically tells him, Well, you have Thor Thano says you have something. Loki says, Well, we have a Hulk. And Hulk comes out of nowhere. I don't know where the hell Hulk was hiding. Maybe he's like, Oh, I'm gonna wait for the right time. And it was really cool to hear Loki say, Well, we have a Hulk, which is what Tony told him back in the event. Callbacks! Callbacks absolutely love it. Hulk is giving it to him, throwing left hands, right hands, doing all he can. And another one of Thanos' children is like gonna butt in Ebony Maul tells him, Let him have his fun. And then Thanos goes on to decimate beat his ass in ways we've never seen.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, just just a flat out ass whooping, man.

SPEAKER_01

I my theater popped for the well, we have a Hulk line from Loki, and then they were immediately shut down by Thanos kicking his ass. Beat him to a pulp, made him bleed. We actually saw him. Oh, it was crazy. Absolutely crazy. Loki tries to you know kill Thanos, but Thanos is too quick like that, stops him from doing so. And like as he went to stab Thanos, and Thanos catches him in my head. I'm already panicking, dude. And we're like 10 minutes into the movie, if that. And I'm like, oh no. Grabs Loki by the thor, by the thor, by the throat, and squeezes him till his neck snaps. You hear the next snap, dude. Oh my goodness, kills Loki and tells him, No more resurrections. Oh, and in the midst of all this, Heimdall is also there. Heimdall uses whatever's remaining, whatever remaining power he has to summon the Bifrost to send Hulk seemingly to Earth. And in doing that, Thanos is like, nope, not that's not gonna happen here. I won't take that, and he kills Heimdall. He just got to do stuff in Thor Ragnarok.

SPEAKER_02

I know. He finally did something and they kill him for it. Can't have nothing.

SPEAKER_01

Rightfully so, Thor tells him you're gonna die for that. Remember that line. Um and as he left Loki there, um, he summons a portal and he he leaves, destroying the ship, and Thor crawls over to Loki's body as the ship just basically blows up. Thanos now has ten minutes into the movie, two infinity stones. The space stone and the power stone. Right off the rip, Adam, they set like this not the standard, but they let you know just how scary this dude is.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, he'd yeah, they did they literally showed him yeah, in the first like what 10 minutes, they showed him kicking Holt's ass, and and subsequently Thor out tricking, anticipating Loki, and then killing Heimdall. And Loki. And Loki. So like we killed two major characters and kicked the crap out of an actual Avengers, like they were like, and that's how the movie starts.

SPEAKER_01

You're like, oh, this movie's not gonna hold back, and it and it doesn't, it really does this, it does not hold back at all. Um that was crazy, and like I said a little bit earlier, um, Heimdall sent Hulk to Earth, not just to Earth, but to Doctor Strange. Ooh, crashes his meeting. Um, they're about to go get sandwiches. So now they go the rest of this movie on an empty stomach, which is really the biggest sin of them all. Yeah, and you know, sends him to sends him to Doctor Strange, he turns back into Bruce, and he's like, Thanos is coming. Thanos is coming, and Doctor Strange is like, who? Who? Title card of Vengers Infinity War. Insane. Insane. Um Doctor Strange, Wong, and um and Bruce all end up meeting up with Tony. Tony's talking about he had this dream. He's telling Pepper, I had this dream where we had a kid, it felt so real. Um, but they meet up with Tony, um Tony and Bruce hug. Mind you, this is the first time they're seeing each other since Age of Ultron. So first time in I mean like first time in three years, but like time like in terms of when the movies came out, because I think Age of Ultron came out in 2015. I'm pretty sure I'm right on that. Um, and then this came out in 2018, so three years. And it's crazy to think that two of those years, you know, Bruce was Hulk. So Yeah, so they got to catch up, they catch up Tony on Thanos, and Bruce lets him know, like, he's already insanely strong. One in Finish Stone alone, regardless of which one it is, makes you very powerful. Two held by one person already makes you the strongest being in the entire universe. Like, this is no light threat. This isn't just another villain. This is this is serious. Like, not saying that the rest haven't been serious, like previous villains, but this is a whole other level. Right off the rip. Again, we're only like 20 minutes into the movie.

SPEAKER_02

I know it's getting it's it really has been it sets the pace up quick.

SPEAKER_01

This and this this movie has insanely good pacing because it's from the get-go, from the second the movie starts, it's non-stop. Because we go from that beginning scene with uh with the Asgardians to this. Um and immediately Bruce is like, we gotta call the Avengers. Bruce has been gone for three years. He doesn't know about it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's the yeah, he doesn't know about Civil War, the Fallout, and he doesn't know about Batman, Spider-Man, Black Panther.

SPEAKER_01

He knows none of it.

SPEAKER_03

He doesn't?

SPEAKER_01

He does not. Um and Tony lets him know like we're not a thing anymore. Like the Avengers broke up, and obviously, yeah, but you know, um, Bruce lets him know, like, this isn't anything like Tony tells him we're not on speaking terms. He's like, basically forget your no speaking terms type of thing. This is you have no idea what you're in for. Um, and then immediately they're attacked by two of the children of Thanos. They're attacked by Ebony Maw and it's like something Obsidian. Cole Obsidian.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, Cole Obsidian.

SPEAKER_01

I got that right. I got there. Oh, I have it right here. My bad.

unknown

My bad.

SPEAKER_01

Cole Obsidian, Colepsine, Ebony Maw. Those are the those are the two of the ones they're fighting right now. I have the names of the other one as we get to them. But they're fighting those two. Um, you know what's really cool? It's cool to see the banter. We're like, we're talking we're I feel like we're gonna talk about a bunch of the serious things that happened throughout this movie. Not so much the jokes and the banter. Believe me, I do have some of the jokes written down, some of the lines, some of the funny lines. But like, we gotta make sure to track back a bit and talk about just how awesome it is to see these characters interacting for the first time. Bruce, Doctor, and Doctor Strange. Uh Tony and Doctor Strange. Again, really fun band, really fun banter. Absolutely love it.

SPEAKER_02

The immediate rival the immediate rivalry of those two.

SPEAKER_01

Immediate I know I absolutely I love it. And it's funny because I like kind of the same, kind of the same.

SPEAKER_02

There's like the two smart asses that with the goatee. That's that's them. And uh both played Sherlock Holmes. Apparently, there was a joke that like um there was a joke about that that like that uh what was it? Uh wow, I can't believe the Cumberbatch was like, no, we're not doing it. That's too lame. Yeah, he's like, it was gonna be the line where like Tony goes, Well, yeah, well, no shit, Sherlock. And then he was in the two meta's like, uh yeah, I I agree. It'd been a little two minute. It was funny. It's funny in hindsight, but you know, it probably wouldn't work.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and so as they're fighting, we get a cool uh we get these like in every Iron Man movie, the suit-up scene. And one of the coolest Iron Man suit-ups. Oh, I absolutely love it. Just taps his chest. I remember in the trailer, we were I I feel like most people were annoyed because they're like, he just got that surgery to remove it all in Iron Man 3. Why does he have that the thing again? Um and come to find out, you know, it's not really there. It's just the housing unit for nanotech, which he taps it, tightens his his joggers, his running suit, and you know, the it comes out of him. Really freaking cool. I mean, you know, we kind of saw how what the suit was gonna look like based off trailers, but the suit up scene itself was really cool. Really nice little fight that they were all having. Doctor Strange and Tony were kind of getting their asses kicked, though. They were out, they were outmatched, they were outmatched for sure. Um, Peter eventually joins. Really cool seeing him save Tony. We kind of Forget how strong he is. Yeah, really.

SPEAKER_02

He robbed, don't forget he's he's actually stronger than Captain America physically.

SPEAKER_01

That is, yeah, we we for we forget it. We forget about that, honestly. But he saves Peter, he saves Tony here. Again, more fun, and we find out that Bruce can't turn into Hulk. Ooh, nice little you know, nice little problem we're running into. And I I don't know how long how long did it take you to figure out, or not figure out, but like kind of have a guess as to why he couldn't.

SPEAKER_02

Uh it took me about like uh I think it was what it took me like five, ten minutes to figure it out.

SPEAKER_01

Before the end of the movie, I think.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, before the end of the movie. I was like, oh, it's because he's scared he doesn't want to Hulk's never been up against somebody who go who can rival him in power, so it makes sense.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I thought that was very interesting. Um Ebony Moss succeeds in pretty much making Doctor Strange pass out. Um Tony follows him in a really cool, like, let me turn my boots into a rocket to make me go up faster. Awesome, awesome. We even get the reveal of the new Iron Spider Suit. Uh it was revealed in the trailer, but it was still sick as fuck. Still really cool. Still really cool. Um, what what what do you think about the new the new Iron Spider suit we shown?

SPEAKER_02

Uh so I've seen the original like comic book Iron Spider Suit.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And and this is the this is it's very much different. Uh I liked it a lot. I like how they did something new for it. Yeah, I like it too. I like the blue, I like the blue glowing eyes. I thought that was sick. Um I will say it's a lot more complex than the than the comic book version of the iron spider suit, but I still think it's good.

SPEAKER_01

Nothing to take away from the comic book one, because that comic book one is nice. Yeah. I did like this one. I did like this one. Um yeah, we cut, we not we cut, we we get a reveal of the new Iron Spider suit. Really cool that Tony Stark designed himself. Awesome, no surprise, Iron Man, Iron Spider. It's there, and Tony kind of tells his new AI thing, Friday, because you know uh Jarvis isn't a thing anymore because he turned into vision. But he tells um he can still kind of control the suit or whatever, so he tells Jar uh Friday to send him home, pulls a parachute out of his back, gets flown off the off the ship because when Ebony Maw took Doctor Strange, took him to the ship and they started flying back out of s in space to wherever they needed to go. Um you know, he made sure that Eater was like taken off the ship and sent back to Earth. Plot twist, he didn't. He managed to stick onto the ship and sneak back on there without Tony knowing. Ooh, oh man. We're in for a lot of things in the later on. Cut to the guardians of the galaxy flying through space, singing, answering a distress signal they got. But by who? Who would be sending a distress signal out at this time? Oh wait, they're answering the distress signal that the guardians, not the guardians, at the as guardians, uh sent out at the beginning of the movie. And we get some fun little stuff seeing them together again. Um, I believe Rocket asks, why are we doing this? And Gamora and Quill like, because we're good people, you know, it's nice to help people out. You know, for some for like a payday, basically. And if they don't pay Trax is if they don't pay up, uh Peter Quill goes, we take their ship.

SPEAKER_03

Super fun stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Super fun stuff. Gamora's like, no, we're not, and Quill's like, no, no. Really fun seeing them together again. They get to where the distress segno is coming from, and they find nothing but rubble and remains floating through space. They're like, oh my gosh, what happened here? Oh my god, they're like, what's that? And then a floating Thor runs into them and they freak out. And but like while he hits their windshield, like he opens his eye, they pull him on board, and they tell uh they're kind of like admiring his body. How could you not? Am I right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean it's Chris Hensberg fan.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, you got that right. So yeah, they're admiring his body again. Can you blame them? Not really. And Quill, there's so many names in this movie that it's gonna like, as I'm talking about who I'm supposed to be talking about, my brain has to go through all the names real quick to uh to make sure I know who I'm talking about. Quill tells Mantis to wake him up. So she does her wake thing and wakes him up, and he's like instantly like in a panic. He's like, he wakes up, he stands up, he's like walking around, he's like, Who who are you guys? Guardians of the Galaxy. We cut to Gamora then doing a oh what how how fun is it to again seeing characters that we didn't think we would see interacting together, actually interacting together.

SPEAKER_02

I know, it's so weird because are the Guardians Galaxy feel like the most removed from the like their own thing in the MCU? So it's cool to see that we get to see them interact with Thor of all people. And uh so it's cool to see them like I you basically want to uh the the one I'm was excited for, which wouldn't unfortunately wouldn't happen until the end game. I was excited for uh Iron Man meaning Rocket.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. It's also like it's it's crazy because like you can't okay, like you you talk about these like team up movies, especially a movie of this scale, where you're gonna have the Guardians interacting with the Avengers, these people interacting with the people of Wakanda, and this and that and whatever. But it you can't just be like, oh, by the way, here's Team A meeting team B. Like, no, we're we're plotting out movies in advance, like years in advance.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

When and how they'll interact. So, like, the ending of Thor leads to the beginning of this movie, which you know what happens in Thor Ragnarok kind of separates Thor from the entirety of the Avengers and now leaves him out in space where the guardians run into him. It's like it's not just like uh again, here's Avengers meeting the guardians of the galaxy, it's here's them meeting one person, which like opens the door to the to the to everybody that they can possibly uh interact, interact with. Um Thor lets them know that they have to go to Ninivalier, and Drax tells him, that's a made-up word. We get the killer lineup. All words are made up. Ah, so good. So good. And I I gotta tell you right now, right off the rip, uh, this is my favorite version of Thor. There is no better Thor than Avengers Thor. He it he's had three movies at this point. He is at his best when he's in an Avengers movie.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I feel like they get him just in like because he's just like has that great good balance of jokey but not too jokey. Like it and he's a little more serious in these movies, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like he's he's not that jokey in the first Avengers movie, he's not that jokey in the in Avengers Age of Ultron. Like, one of his funniest lines in that movie is just like that the best you can do, and then Ultron is like, this best that I can do, and you know, everybody gets sent over there. And as they're talking about all this, you know, again, more fun banter, um Thor realizes that, like, hey, what am I doing here? What I need is a hammer. Um, because again, if you remember in Thor Ragnarok, his hammer gets destroyed. So he's like, we need a new one, which is why we need to hit to head to Nidivalir. And they're again they're talking about Thanos because Gomorrah tells him, or Drax kind of tells Thor that Gamora is the daughter of Thanos. They kind of bond over their parents being kind of like messed up or families being messed up and all that type of stuff. We're just cool, we're just cool, you know, bonding, trauma bonding, you know? It's it's nice to see it because now it's it's weird because now we have like a character that's a Thor who's been through so much, but mainly like family issue-wise, because you know his dad kept it a secret from them about Hella. Loki is well he's he's Loki, you know? Yeah, so it's nice to see him bond with somebody over like family and uh stuff like that. Uh yeah. And he tells them that hey, this is pretty much uh Thanos' plan. He already has the power and the space tone, and like him saying that kind of takes the guardians off, like catches them off guard. Like, whoa, whoa, whoa, what do you mean? Yeah, he has the power stone after he basically decimated it's not Nova, it's Xandar. It's Xandar. Zandar, Xandar.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, as soon as we said the right, it was so yeah, Nova. I'm thinking of the Nova Core that's yeah, it's like the police force.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, decimated them too. Decimated Xandar, took the power stone, their jaw drops because they timeline-wise, it's been like four years, but you know, they saved that place and left it there for safekeeping.

SPEAKER_03

Damn. What happened? Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_02

It was like, damn, like we just we saved that place, and the guy he destroyed it. God damn.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, took that took the power stone, and then he now has the space stone after he uh killed like half my people and left us to die, and now he's on the way to to nowhere, which we saw in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Um, and they're like, Why would be why would he be heading there? And he lets him know we left the the reality stones there with the collector, so now he's on his way over there, and so the basic plan is half of Thor, I think it's and and I think it ah, I think it ends up being Thor, Rocket, and Groot. Teenage Groot, mind you. What do you think of Teenage Groot before we get further into this?

SPEAKER_02

I think he's funny. I love Teenage Groot.

SPEAKER_01

I am just so sassy, and they're like, whoa, whoa, and then like Drax like the mouth on you. Oh, it's so funny.

SPEAKER_02

It's funny. Uh NXT teen groot. That's funny.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, also, Thor understands Groot because it's a classy touch.

SPEAKER_02

Apparently, there's a excuse me, hold on.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well, so we end up splitting up the group. So Groot, Rocket, Thorhead, Tanidvaleer to get Thor his new hammer. We then the other group is Gamora, Quill, Drax, and Mantis to head over to nowhere. So the group splits. Okay. Cut two back to Earth with Wanda and a man. Who is this? Who oh, it's Vision.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they gave him his human form because you know he's developed.

SPEAKER_01

He said he I think he said it in Civil War. He hopes to control it more. That maybe he can do more with it, and that more with it is not look like Vision, but look more like Paul Bentney. Yeah. I'm I'm pretty sure Paul Bentney enjoyed not having to sit in pounds and pounds of makeup.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I bet he was. He's like, guys, can I just give like give me one Z where I'm not wearing this garbage, please, for the love of God. Like, okay.

SPEAKER_01

It did not last long.

SPEAKER_02

It did not.

SPEAKER_01

It did not. Um, so we now, so they're together. Okay. Um, Wanda can kind of feel the like his mind or the the stone that's in him, the mind stone, right? And he gets like this, like almost like a spidey sense or something like that. He's like, hey, the stone is trying to tell me something. Because they have to like, they don't just live together, like, you know, he has to like go back to meet up with the Avengers, or not the Avengers, yeah. The with Cap in them, basically. They gotta they gotta stay split or whatever. And as they're out, they see that Tony Stark has gone missing. What we know he's not missing. We know he went up to space to save Doctor Strange, yeah. Right? And as they're like, oh, I have to go now, he gets stabbed like like an insane like wound right off, right off like the introduction of this character, uh, they believe his name is Corvus Glaive, stabs him, which like isn't supposed to happen because he's made of vibration. He's made of vibranium. I think even Vision tells him itself, it's like I can't even like phase through things, like it's stopping me from like I'm too wounded to do it. And they're like, is that even possible? Vision goes, it's this isn't supposed to happen. Like, I I don't know what's going on. Comic book-wise, I know this though, because let me tell you, I went through I went through it after this movie came out. So like Corvus Glaives, um, I don't know the name of this his his scythe or whatever, but his thing is like so sharp or it's like so powerful that he can cut like molecules basically. So it's no surprise that he is able to cut vision, not really cut him, but just stab straight through him. And it, you know, Wanda puts up a good fight, but she can't really like fight one-on-one. I feel like if it was one-on-one, she'd be able to kick their ass. But because she's also having to like defend vision, she can't really quite do it. Plus, this isn't like full-powered Wanda, you know, that we we come to know. But they're saved by Captain America. With a beard, yeah. Oh, dude, it looks so good. We saw it in the trailer, but yes, yes, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Love it, love it. He's saved by Cap, they're saved by Cap, Black Widow, and Sam, and send uh what were they called? Corvus Glaive and Proxima Bidnight. They send them running.

SPEAKER_02

A couple, they're like the couple of the group, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I I think they also managed to like wound Corvus Glave. Yeah, that's when Proxima was like their ships.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's like Proxima's like, oh no, my boyfriend's hurt. I got we gotta get the hell out of here.

SPEAKER_01

Because they weren't ready for Captain America with a beard. They sure weren't. And then we cut right back. There's a lot of cutting from like here to here to here to here to here, right? But you have to, because it's like it's cutting from here back to the guardians, from there to Tony to cutting back. It like adds to like the the uneasiness we're feeling, like the hecticness of it all. It's really good, it's really well put together. Props to the people who like edited it, edited the whole movie to be like this. You know, big props on them. Cut back to the guardians, are really just like Gamora. Um Gamora knowing that one way or another, that this path the path that they're on leads to Thanos, that they're going to face him. And she tells Quill, if and when we do, if Thanos gets to me, you have to kill me. And we're like, ooh, why? She won't explain this to Quill, but she just makes him promise like, promise me this on your mom. And yeah, they're joking for a bit, actually a lot of bit in this scene, but like Gamora's trying to be serious. Quill is being quill, but like knowing, sensing and seeing how serious she's being in it, he takes it serious now. Yeah, little did he ever did he or we ever think he it would ever actually happen. But like makes her makes him promise that.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

And they get to nowhere, and thinking that they knew that he was gonna be there because Thor told them, um, they think they have the upper hand. Right? They fight Thanos and they kill him, and they're like, oh my gosh, they're like, damn, that was easy. Psych! Thanos actually beat them there, got the reality stone from the collector, who we uh assume kill, you know, Thanos killed him. Um got the reality stone, destroyed everything. Killed, I'm assuming everyone.

SPEAKER_02

Destroyed the collector's collection, that's for damn sure.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and um and after doing all that and being like, huh, I can kind of know I know that my daughter's gonna come here. So let me put up this fake reality scenario with the reality stone to let Gamora think they have the upper hand, to let her think that she killed me. And when she does kill the fake Thanos, she cries. And Thanos lets her know, like, I knew you still had feelings for me, I knew you still cared for me. And that's when he breaks down the reality. We see the destruction that he left. Um, as they all shoot to attack, none of them want to listen to to Quill's to Peter's plan. Um, Thanos turns Mantis into ribbons. What ribbons? Yeah, actual ribbons. I didn't know if I should be grossed at or not. I was like, it was uneasy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was for me, it was the Drax turning into like blocks.

SPEAKER_01

I have that right here, and Drax turned into blocks.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I was like, oh god, what in the Mortal Kombat fatality is this?

SPEAKER_01

It was so weird, it's so like out there, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, he does end up like getting his hands on Gamora. Um Quill has his gun thing faced at Thanos. He's like, I'll shoot that nutsack of a chin that you call a face, let her go. Gamora tells him, not him, me. Thanos now gets what Gamora asked of him. And she he tells her he's not gonna do it. He's too naive. He's not he's not gonna be like that. And Peter's like, I told you to go left and you went right. Like, I told you, and she's like, Really? You're gonna get on me about that now. Thanos is growing tired, tells him, just do it. Peter's holding the gun to her face, or like the blaster, I don't know exactly what to call it. I'm gonna call it gun blaster gun, whatever. Is holding it to her face. He knows he doesn't want to, but he promised her, he knows, he knows in his heart of hearts that if she was super dead serious about wanting to rather die than to be captured by Thanos, like it must be serious. So, like you see, dude, you see like the pressure and the like the fear in his face, and he says, He says, I love you, and he pulls the trigger again. Thanos psych turns the what would be like bullets or blasts or whatever into bubbles. Quill is like so dumbfounded by it all. He's like, What what what Thanos kind of just gives him a a smirk and says, I like you and leaves.

SPEAKER_02

I like you. Yeah. Like uh just kind of it's just it's not funny, because you know, it's a poem the whole like, oh, you're you're trying to prove your father in law, trying to get your butt like it's also like shows you just how kind of like cold. He is, he's like, dude, he literally put them through like this like a very emotional like uh like thing, you know. I I think you're not explaining he literally pull the trigger on the girl he loves and he's like I I like you. I'm like, Jesus. It's both funny and terrifying in a weird in a good way.

SPEAKER_01

So we find it, we find out later on that like we find out Thanos' plan and as to like why he wants the infinity stones, right? We'll get to it. I won't get too into it right here. But I feel like the his Thanos wanting to do what he wants to do in his heart of hearts, Thanos, knows it's a really tough decision, but he thinks that he's the only one who's like willing to do it, willing to do the tough decisions. And I think him knowing that in his head, in this moment, seeing Quill, his daughter's boyfriend, make the tough decision, even though he doesn't want to, knows it's a hard decision. He made it though, to kill his to kill her. That's like more of like a like, okay. I thought I had to make like I make tough decisions. There's a tough decision I have to make. The fact that he's also willing to do it, you know, respect.

SPEAKER_02

Impressed him. Respect. He's like he respected him. He's like, but like I said, it's also kind of like like I said, the shows that it's uh not only just a funny moment, but it's just also just like I said, it's just also just such a showing of just showing him how much how cold he actually is that he was like willing to put them through this and then laugh about it afterwards. I'm like, uh geez.

SPEAKER_01

Like he got something out of it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Right. And now Thanos has three infinity stones power, face, reality. He was already the strongest being in the universe with two. Three cut two cap. He's back on Earth. Um, they're back at basically Avengers HQ. Um, he gets greeted, not really greeted, but like he's interrupting Sam talking to uh General Everett Ross. I don't know his ranking, Captain Ross, I don't know. I feel like general is the right thing.

SPEAKER_02

Is it Thunderbolt Ross? The old man? Yeah, it's yeah, it's that's General.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I got it right, got it right. And he's like, you have some nerve showing your face up in here. And he's and then Cap tells him, You just lost your Earth's best defender in that of Tony. We are now all you have left. Now here's a now here's a point I wanted to talk about. Um, Cap and Tony, we know the the argument, the fallout they had from Civil War. We knew why Tony signed, we knew why Cap wouldn't sign. Um and that movie, in the lead up to it, and even throughout it, had us choosing a side. I'm pretty sure you and I talked about both of us being Team Iron Man. Correct me if I'm wrong.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, we were both Iron Man.

SPEAKER_01

Right. And now Cap, even though in his heart of hearts knew, like, what if we need to go somewhere we need to be and they don't let us? Like, we deserve the right to choose, right? At the end of the day, the best hands are ours. He just called Tony Earth's best defender over himself. Would you agree?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean, because let's be real, Tony, because he's it's not even just about uh who could beat who in a fight, it's the fact that Tony is more prepared for different kinds of threats than Cap. Than Cap is.

SPEAKER_01

The length he's willing to go to just to be prepared. That's what Age of Ultron is all about.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. Yeah, he's because he knows that Tony, like whatever comes my way, comes because he knows, like, especially you know, after earning the respect from like um from you know after at the end of first of the first Avengers, you know, with him and the nuke, he uh Cat knows that Cap uh Iron Man is willing to do whatever it takes to save the day, to keep people safe, to keep to do what it's necessary. And even though he may not agree with what he must do, he understands that he will do it. Is what uh which I think is great. Which is like a great subtle way to explain the relationship, really. Like he doesn't like always agree with what Tony has to do, but he understands that he will do it if he because he's doing it because he to protect the world to protect the earth.

SPEAKER_01

And he'll do it to like such an extent that sometimes it'll backfire on him, which is what happens in Age of Ultron with with Ultron.

SPEAKER_02

Um it may not always work, but he knows Tony's always gonna act in the best interest, though, is what yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So I I really dug that line from Cap calling Tony Earth's best defender. Because at the end of the day, he he is he is, yeah. Again, it's uh like you said, it's not about who's stronger, it's just about like Tony has willing to do what is necessary, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Tony's and not just the means, but the the will to do it. Like the the the what's the word I'm trying to think?

SPEAKER_01

The will to do it, the I guess I feel like they both have to will the will to do it. It's just that like we know who Tony is with what he has.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Um I I think maybe also well, I think it's also implied that Tony's also like willing to like cross his morals because you know, Captain's like his morals are unmovable. You know, he knows what's right, he knows what's right, he won't compromise them. Tony might compromise his morals to do what is to do the ultimate greater good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah. Alright, and from semantics. From there, we cut to, like we said earlier, um, Ebony Maw kidnapped, kidnapped. It's kidnapping, adult napping. Um, he took Doctor Strange and is now torturing him um for the timestone. Even though um Strange has it on him, he put uh like a dead dead mount spell or something like that on it. Um that is simple but quite impossible to break. So he's trying to get him to break the seal so he can get the infinity stone. Um and he's being tortured by having these weird like space needles pressed into his face, and no, thank you. Just no. I I don't even want to think about it. It looked cool because like as the needles were piercing him, they kind of like were glowing that underskin area.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. It felt like you were getting you were thought about like it feels it kind of just reminds me of like a splinter almost, like or like an ingrown toenail or something. Ugh. It looked horrible.

SPEAKER_01

It looked horrible. Um, but he is saved by Tony, Peter, and his cloak after um after Peter says, Hey, have you guys ever seen this old movie Aliens? Ugh. We're so old. Yeah, I know. We're only getting older at him. Only getting older. I know. So they do just that blast a hole in the ship, Ebony Maul gets sucked out. And this is the first time in the movie where I'm like, uh like technically from all the children of Thanos that we've seen, this dude is the strongest. He has this like telekinetic powers. Um and you killed him pretty easily. Now it didn't like ruin the movie for me, like it didn't take anything away from it, like you know. But it's just like he even Ma even goes on like a little fucking monologue where he's just like, You don't stand a chance against me, you will lose. Thanos will pull in the wall and get sucked right out. Yeah. Peter Parker. A mind like no other Saving the World with one movie reference at a time. Yep, yep, yep, yep. And after they free uh Strange, uh he asks Tony if he can turn the ship around. Can we get back to Earth? Um but it it's so interesting because like as he's posing the question, um, you can already see Tony's mind working. He's like, Yeah, no, I heard you. Um but like maybe we shouldn't. And Strange tells him. And there is no way we can take the stone to Thanos. There's nothing we can do. I told you I would defend the stone with my life. Like, it's my job, it's my purpose to defend the timestone. And Tony lets him know, yeah, Thanos in his plan, he's coming after us for the stones. He's gonna come at us when he wants for the stones. But we now have the advantage, right? He thinks we're being taken to him when in reality we can be going after him. He's not expecting us to be like you know, a step ahead. So I say we take the fight to him. Yeah, and he says, Do you concur? Maybe that was like the Sherlock Holmes reference. Yeah, that's a smaller one. You know, take the fight to catch him off guard. What did you think of Tony's plan here? Like, do you agree with like, hey, he doesn't expect us to be going there willingly to take the fight to him? What do you think of his plan? Umgn what you know already, but what do you think of it?

SPEAKER_02

Dude, like, what are you because here's the I don't know. I don't really this plan is not the greatest because like he he knew we know because here's we know he just kicked four Hulk's ass. He just beat the crap out of Hulk. His children like were really messing you guys up for a hot minute there before Peter showed up to outnumber them, and then like you know he has to have at least a few few of the because I'm sure Bruce told him that he took the space and power stone.

SPEAKER_01

He did tell him, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

He must have told him so he not only does he have a stone that you would like that you personally know, like Tony knows what the space stone can do, and then on top of that, he knows so and plus he has a stone that you have no clue what can do, what it can do. You're like, I don't know, like it's like so what I'm like you gotta think like what are you what's the plan there?

SPEAKER_01

I think it's like again, uh one thing I absolutely love about this movie is that from beginning to end, it's characters, our our characters, regardless of this, the Avengers, Guardians, anyone, having to make decisions. Heimdall, it starts off with like Loki making the decision to give Stanos the Tesseract or try to kill him. Heimdall had to make a decision to save somebody. He saved Hulk.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um Peter made a decision to go up and help. Tony made the decision to go help Doctor Strange and help. Tony here making the decision, the choice, uh and it and it's not like he has time to think. It's not like any decision that has been made in the movie so far by any character has had time to like really think it out. Like they have to think on the fly. This is Tony thinking on the fly. And I like as you're speaking talking about it, yeah, maybe it isn't like more well thought out, but you don't have the time to really think it out. Like, yeah, you're all right.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, and yeah, hindsight's 2020.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um characters like he has to make he makes the choice to go make a hammer. Uh Rocket makes the choice to go with him. Gamora and them make the choice to not listen to Quill. Peter uh Peter Quill makes the decision to actually try to fulfill Gamora's promise in that of killing her. And it's just decision after decision that are that that are um choice after choice is made throughout the movie. That is like we don't have time to think, you have to make a choice, and like whether it's the right or the wrong choice, a decision has to be made. And this is one of those instances, one of the many instances where that has to happen. Yeah, um, strange tells him, he's like, Hey, if it comes down to it, between you, the stone, or like any of you guys, I choose the timestone. I will sacrifice, I will let you guys die to keep the timestone away from Thanos. And Tony's like, Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_02

We like eat. Yeah, he was like, I get it.

SPEAKER_01

And then Tony officially deemed uh he like knighted Peter, officially makes him an Avenger. And here's what I really like. It it's kind of played off as jokey because you know he knights him like one shoulder, second shoulder. All right, you are now an Avenger, and it you can take it as fun. And Peter does right away, you know, he gets made an Avenger, and he go he quickly though, quickly goes from happy to serious. Like you see the smile on his face, like, oh my gosh, I'm finally an Avenger. But he knows the severity of what they're going through right now, and that quickly just quickly dissipates.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like he knows like I'm an Avenger, like, yeah, I'm an Avenger, and then like, oh, I'm an Avenger.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. It's just exactly because like, even though he he's been wanting to do all these bigger missions, look at all the big missions that have happened, just the first two Avengers movies.

SPEAKER_02

It means he's like, I'm an Avenger because the world's at danger, the universe is at danger.

SPEAKER_01

And me, a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, who wasn't even supposed to like be on this ship, is now in the middle of like life or death, now in the middle of this war, now in the middle of this great, insanely dangerous battle. It's oh, I love it. Again, another choice. He wouldn't, I don't think I don't know. There's a there's a lot.

SPEAKER_02

I gotta admit, Marvel's really nailing these characters, they know how to like they really got the hang of using these characters to the fullest. Like everything's like done really well. No one like here's the they're balancing all these characters, mind you, it fell as like introducing some new ones too, and they're using them so well with each other, and like no one felt out of place so far, like no one's felt out of character, or you know, you know what I mean. Like, no one felt like this is not how they would act, right?

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. Yeah, the only one that feels different, but I feel like different in a better way is Thor. Because the Thor in that we've gotten in this movie so far, and even throughout the rest of the movie, is very different from the Thor we got in his previous movie the year before.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Which I'm not mad about because I wasn't crazy about that movie.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, we then cut to uh da da da Gamora is talking to the Thor and telling him that his plan is to wipe out half the universe. Oh, we we cut to Gamora and Thanos because as we all know, Thanos kidnapped Gamora and is basically in their like thro in his throne room. She's telling him that he's always hated her, she's always hated him, and he's like, Yeah, I know. Um, and then he tells he tells her his plan to basically wipe out half the universe, um, because this universe is going through its resources, going through its food, and oh everything. And he wants to eliminate basically half the universe so the other half can prosper. That he's done this, we even get like a flashback to this. Um he goes world to world, planet to planet, and he pretty much does that wipes out half the universe. This is without the infinity stone, so he's slaughtering trillions, billions of people. Oh yeah, um, just to do this. And I mean, okay, horrible person, genocide, right? Yeah, and but in his in his in his mind and his heart, he's like, it's a it's one of those tough decisions I have to do because now those people who you know were left alive now know nothing but like prosperous lives, they don't struggle for food and resources anymore. So that's his why. Again, horrible genocide, planet after planet after planet. And mind you, uh I won't say that because no, I think he mentions it here too, because um yeah, it's horrible. Even Gamora thinks Gamora thinks it's horrible, she knows it's a horrible thing to do, but he tells her not long ago, you were by my side helping me do this, slaughtering people. Really wild. So now knowing what Thanos' plan is, he wants the infinity stones to wipe out half the universe for this reason. Now I want to ask you, is this better than the comic book reasoning for him wanting the infinity stones and wanting to wipe out half the universe?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, uh, because it was just him trying to get loaded with Death, who is currently hooking up with Deadpool. Yeah, yeah, he uh fun fact in the comic books. Uh Thanos is in a love triangle with Deadpool and Death.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah, which was funny, which you know, funny.

SPEAKER_02

Which is funny.

SPEAKER_01

Again, knowing this going into the movie, like everybody knows Thanos' real reason in the comics for wanting to do this. Knowing they I I don't know if I'm pretty sure they had said somewhere that they were gonna change it, and but I'm pretty sure some people were like, How the hell is this gonna work? Like now you have to introduce death.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And introducing this post-endgame and all that stuff, so we won't talk about it. But like introducing s like a being like that. Can that work? I don't know. And they change it to this, which hey, it's better than what they did. It's way better. Yeah, yeah. And again, it's back to that like people having to make decisions. The choice that Thanos has made, which is go after the infinity stones so I can do this for the sake of the universe, is the reason I'm doing this. And because he chose to do that, it now leads us on this path to infinity war. Uh cut to Rocket and Thor. Ooh, we're we're with these guys. And we can see that Thor's kind of going through it. They and Rocket goes to him, he's like, you know what? I said I'm the leader of the group. I'm gonna be the leader of the group. And he tries to have a heart to heart to Rocket that he lets him know, he's like, Um, yeah, you know, family's tough. Well, but what what good are they? He's like, At least you have a mother, and he goes, Thor goes, he was stabbed by a dark elf. Dad died, brother killed.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and again, it has not been it has not been a good week for Thor.

SPEAKER_01

No, and even like Thor reiterates like he's gone through a lot of loss, like a lot, a lot. And Rocket tells him, he's like, This better be some hammer that we're going for because Thanos is the strongest there is. Thor tells him, is like, I know I'm the one that has to defeat Thanos because like I believe it to be. Like, it's the only reason why I'm still alive today. I'm 1,500 years old. I think that's what he said. 1,500 years old. And I've fought battle after battle battle, I've won and won and won. There has to be a reason behind it, it has to be for this reason. My destiny must be this. And if it's not, then what else do I have to lose? And again, very emotional scene. Where has this score been?

SPEAKER_03

I know.

SPEAKER_01

Like I know people, I know people were like, Finally, we got Thor being funny, something different in Ragnarok. I don't like it. I'm gonna be completely honest with you guys. I don't. I really it's like too opposite, it's too like much in the other direction than what we were getting.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. This is a good balance.

SPEAKER_01

I felt like this thor is more in line with the Thor's from the first two movies. Yeah. Um this is perfect, Thor. And I I I I like how Rocket didn't have to like try to like console him, but he made the effort.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And after Thor says, What else do I have to lose? and he walks away. Uh Rocket says, well, I mean me personally, I have a lot. I have a lot to lose. Oh, really good scene. Cut to the Guardians of the Galaxy running into Tony, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man. What a little meetup we got here. We got them fighting, da-da-da-da. They're kind of like fighting back and forth. Um Peter gets Spider-Man like tied up. Tony gets Drax on the floor. And he goes, answer me this question. Or no, I think Peter says. Peter Quill says, Where's Gomorrah? Where's Gamora? Tony says, I'll do you one better. Who's Gomorrah? And we get the killer line by Drax, who is supposedly, you know, improvised. I'll do you one better. Why is Gomora?

SPEAKER_02

That's such good. God, man, I swear, uh, Drax is like one of the funniest characters to come out of the MCU.

SPEAKER_01

That is probably the funniest line to have ever come out of the MCU.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I God, I love Dave Batista. He's the best, he's the best actor. He's the best wrestler turned actor.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Honestly, have you seen hey? If you guys haven't seen a Kim and the Knock on the Cabin door, man, go see that movie. He gives a great performance.

SPEAKER_01

That's a movie I hear constant praise from by you. So um I'll make sure to check it out one of these days. Yeah. Yeah. So we get that line, and they're like, hey, we're the Avengers, man. Like, we're not with Thanos. And they're like, Are you? Like, no, he he kidnapped my girl. Like, what are you guys on? Who are you guys? And then when they say they're the Avengers, Mantis goes, like, oh, you're the ones that Thor told us about. And then Tony goes, You know Thor. Oh, cool. They had a misunderstanding?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Now they're working together to go up against Thanos.

SPEAKER_02

They got that in take too long because we really don't have the time for them to like be doing this for too long.

SPEAKER_01

No. And I feel like that's with everybody, every new interaction is like, hey, who are you? Oh. Okay, Thanos. Right. Right. Right. Right.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, okay. Okay. Let's go. Let's do this.

SPEAKER_01

It's like they're doing the Spider-Man, the meme. Like Thanos? Thanos, though. Thanos. Right. Right, right, right. Uh, cut to um Thanos torturing Nebula in front of Gamora to try to get this information that she has out of her because she knows where the Soul Stone is. Eventually gets it out of her and takes her to Vormir, where she says it is. And they go over there. It's so oh we got Thanos is full of killer lions because Gamora tries lying. Tries lying. And he's like, you know why you're so bad at lying? It's because. Oh, he goes, I never taught you to lie, which is why you're so bad at it.

SPEAKER_02

Oh he's so he's just so nefarious.

SPEAKER_01

What a dick.

SPEAKER_02

Dick move.

SPEAKER_01

You know why you can't lie? Because I never taught you. That's why you're bad at it. Oh killer line. I absolutely love it. They go to uh Thanos and Gamorra. Go to oh we're here.

SPEAKER_03

Go to Vormir where we find Red School. We find Red School, we're like, oh that's where you've been.

SPEAKER_01

Because if you remember, you haven't listened to our Captain America the First Avenger review, maybe go listen to it after this. Um Red School held the Tesseract and he got like we thought he got like vaporized or something, but no, it turns out he got teleported because this is the space stone. He got teleported to who knows where here. How did you react to seeing Red School of all people?

SPEAKER_02

I was like, what the hell is he doing? I was just legitimately surprised that they brought him back of all people. Like, what?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it wasn't really the actor though. I forget the actor's name. Um, yeah, it wasn't really him. They just like it's a CG Red School, and they got like a really good voice actor, voice impersonator to do the voice. Killed it, killed it, killed it, absolutely killed it. Really good. Uh, really good. Yeah. And you know, Thanos lets him know. We're here for the we're here for the soul stone, basically. And Red Skull tells him. Um, to get the Soul Stone, he has to sacrifice that of which he loves. A soul for a soul. And Gamora starts laughing. I'm like, ooh, did I miss a joke or something? What's so funny? And she goes on to say, it's funny because you love nothing. You've done horribly wicked things to this universe, and the universe laughs at you and tells you no. And you can see it kind of looks like he's brooding, like, like, you know, because we see his back and looks like he's brooding. And he turns around and did not expect this out of this movie.

SPEAKER_03

And Thanos, of all people, is crying. Crying.

SPEAKER_02

Talk about three-dimensional character. I know. I love everyone in that theater had the exact same reaction to Gomorrah, which was, oh no. Because you knew what that meant.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, even Gomora knew, because like as soon as he's he turns around, he's crying, and he's looking at her. She goes, No, this isn't love. And Thanos tells him, that tells her, I have put this off long enough. I'm not gonna put it off any longer. Not even for you. My heart's racing. My heart's racing. Grabs her by the arm and drowns out any like screaming she does, any talking, and it's just loud music. Not like loud annoying music, but it's like music to let you know what's coming. And it hits so hard. He's dragging her. And no hesitation, dude. No hesitation whatsoever. Chucks her over because they're on a cliff. Chucks her over the cliff. And she's just falling. Nothing to catch herself with. Just falling. She's reaching. Nothing there to catch her. Cut back to Thanos, who's like sh bawling, dude. He's shedding tears. He's bawling so much. He kills Gamora, dude.

SPEAKER_02

I know. I I okay. Out of everyone who died, I was not expecting her of all people.

SPEAKER_03

I me neither, dude. I really I did not expect this. I really didn't.

SPEAKER_01

I I'm not gonna so like going into the movie, I was like, okay, people are gonna die for sure. But like I feel like the people that are gonna die are the people that are kind of like maybe like Cap, uh any of the original Avengers, really. Because I'm just like, well, you know, make way for the old, make way for the new people. Um, so that's what I thought. But like, ah, they killed Gamora. And now granted, like it's like one of the few characters that really does make sense that they died, considering who she is. But like, I did I did not see this coming. I really and then like it's so weird because I'm like hurting because you know it's fucking Gamora, but I'm hurting for Peter because he does because like Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, we just saw their emotional moment together. I mean, how what he's that he he would do anything for her, even kill her to save her from him.

SPEAKER_01

And what's crazy is like either way, she was gonna die. Like this, or by by by Peter. Absolutely insane. So we then it's not like one of those where like you just throw them off into the abyss and you don't see them. No, they they show her body, you see the blood coming from her head, yeah, and then like this bright flash happens, and uh Thanos is now like taken to this like mysterious plane of water and where he like he sits up and he has the soul stone in his hand. He stands up and he's is it here where he yeah, it is here where he um is it here where he talks to young Gamora? Yeah Yeah where he's now looking at Gomorrah, but Gomorra as a child, and Young Gomorra asks him what did it cost? You know, we know it's like what did it cost to get what he wanted? And he goes with like almost I'd say regret in his face, everything.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, there's there's yeah, there's remorse in him. By the way, Thanos has just been an extraordinary character to follow throughout this movie. Like I don't like he's yeah, he's just been so like interesting and like we've been we've been watching her backstory, how he interacted with her, what he's willing like he's just seeing how far he's willing to go. I that he's and like yeah, go ahead.

SPEAKER_01

Um I think going into this movie, we knew the villain was Thanos, but I feel like we knew they had to make Thanos work for two reasons. One we know what his original uh you know plan was for using the Infinity Stones in the comics. You can't do that. So we know his real plan has to work, and two, you can't have another throwaway villain. Like you can't have a you can't have a weak ass villain, especially coming off at the time. This movie hasn't ended, so it doesn't count, right? You just came off one of, if not the greatest villain you've had so far, yeah, and that of uh Killmonger. You can't and it's even more like egregious if you do have a throwaway villain in an Avengers movie, especially since people, not even people, I think it's it's a general consensus that Avengers Age of Ultron villain, Ultron, was a letdown. Yeah, so it Thanos has to work, and not only does he work on like so many levels, but like he's intimidating. He's not just one of these, like we we we know what his plan is, we know how he has to accomplish his plan. Like he's a he's a character that makes total sense, like we fully understand him. Like he's not he is insanely evil, but like it's not like he's stupid. This is all thought out. Yeah, it's kind of he knows what he's doing, he knows what he has to do, and unfortunately he has the will to do it, and uh he even says it to uh to Gamora in the throne room scene where he's like, I'm the only one um with the means to do it. I'm the only one who's willing to. And you know, this was proof. This was proof. Thanos now has four infinity stones power, space, reality, and soul. Cut two back to Thor, Rocket, and Groot, where they meet E-Tree, a giant dwarf. Um and we find out that E-Tree is basically the one who Thanos came to him and told him to make him uh make him something strong enough to hold the power of the infinity stones. And he says, if you do, I'll s like he's basically threatening him. If you don't, I'm gonna kill everybody here. But if you do, I'll spare everyone. So I think E tree wanting to save his people does it. He admits to Thor, I did it because if I didn't, he was gonna kill anybody. And after I did do it for him, he killed everyone, anyways. My dude. What happened to killing half? He just killed them all.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

And to make things work, he's like, but that's not all. I want you to know that your hands are mine. So he basically like turns his hands, or like, I don't know what he did exactly. My guess is he used the reality stone. No, because he had it before then.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I think he just beat his ass and then like poured metal over them to melt them.

SPEAKER_02

I thought we just locked no, I thought he was I thought he just cut them off and the Metri replaced them with metal arms.

SPEAKER_01

I'm googling it right now.

SPEAKER_03

It I thought he like Loki like melted his hands um into metal.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I can't find a really good picture, but it just looks like yeah, no, it looks like he poured the molten hot metal over his hands.

SPEAKER_03

And so now they're just like closed fists forever. Yeah, that's that's what it's looking like here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's what it's looking like. Um maybe I'm wrong. Um, but that's what it looks like in the in the in the pictures. Um Thor tells him, he's like, he may have taken your hands, but everything about this place, it's it's all knowledge. You can you can still make them. Um he's like, oh, you're right. But to do so, we need to melt the metal, and to melt it, we need basically like this fire, and the only way to get it is by restarting or waking up a dying star. And Thor's like, Okay, let's do it. And they do it, you know, they do it all for the sake of being able to give Thor that really good pose where his biceps are just bulging.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and he's right.

SPEAKER_01

They know what they know what they're doing, they know they know what will put butts in seats.

SPEAKER_02

And they do it, uh they have to have their uh Captain America holding down that helicopter moment.

SPEAKER_01

Ooh. Hey, nothing tops that. Nothing tops that.

SPEAKER_02

No, that that was just ridiculous.

SPEAKER_01

I was like uh cut two. Wakanda. Ooh. Um uh Cap and T'Cala reunite. Cap and Bucky reunite. Hey. Yeah. Which movie was it? Which I forget which. Oh, that no, that was in the show. Never mind. Cap and Bucky reunite, because that's what we know that's this is where Bucky is. They meet up with Shurig and they have uh they have Natasha there, they have Viz there, they Viz there. I can't even say that. They have Vision there, they got Wanda there, they pretty much got everybody there. They got Sam there too. They got I think they got Roadie there too. The whole gang is there. And they basically talk about like, hey, what if Thanos is coming for the stone? Is there any way we can remove it without killing Vision? And there's only one person that can do that, and that is Shuri. So now the plan is to remove the minestone from Vision without killing him. Ooh. And while she's doing that, uh T'Challa and everyone else, Cap, everyone else. Uh prepare for war. Oh, and this is like, okay. This is when stuff starts to get down, right? Stuff, stuff, it's going down. It's 100% going down. And leading this is all leading up to the final like hour of the movie, but nothing can prepare you for what the final hour of this movie is. Absolutely nothing. It just gets way more hectic. You're on the edge of your seat. So as they're preparing for war, everybody lines up. I was gonna do their battle cry right here, but I I'm not going to now. I don't want no cultural appropriation type of stuff coming at me. So I won't, but just you guys remember what they said. You guys remember what they say. And it's weird because the they're fighting Thanos' army, but his army isn't really like of people, it's of like what are they called? Demodogs. No, that's uh that's stranger things.

SPEAKER_02

It's um uh I don't know if I don't know if it's the Chitari anymore. No, it's that was like New York. Yeah, that's the New York army.

SPEAKER_01

Um that was Loki's army telling you uh Thanos' army. Oh, they're called Outriders. They're a massive, brainless horde of insectoid beasts called outriders. Instead of relying on conventional military forces, they acted as a hyper-aggressive vanguard to you use to systemically conquer planets. So that's what they're using. That's what they're using. Um, yeah. And as soon as, you know, they are like as soon as T'Challa screams Wakanda forever, they're going at it. These outrigh, insectoid, beast type things coming at them. Pretty much all of Wakanda's army, plus our Avengers people or whatever going at it. It was so one of the coolest things in this entire movie, and this movie is filled of really cool stuff. One of the coolest things is seeing T'Challa and Captain America, or my bad, Cap and Black Panther sprint to the front lines. They want to be the first ones to start kicking ass. It's awesome.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah. Um, we got a yeah, we got the kill ass action coming in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so we get this really awesome big fight back and forth. Cap and everyone are kicking ass. Really cool to see everyone hammering it out. Um, Bruce still can't turn into Hulk, so he's using the Hulk Buster. Okay, really cool to see that thing. I'm glad Tony hasn't just like locked it up. He's like, Oh, I don't need it no more. They still have it. That's so you know, that's really cool to see. But the villains get the upper hand. Oh no, what are we gonna do? There's too much of them, they can't be stopped. What will they do? Oh my gosh, it seems like Captain America is about to get ripped apart to shreds. What happens? We get we get a god, literally a god, coming down from the heavens. It is Thor with cat with Rocket and Groot using because apparently this Stormbreaker, his new battle axe type of thing, can summon the Bifrost. Awesome, awesome. Thor comes from the heavens, clearing out a bunch of these outriders, takes out all the ones that are attacking Black Panther and Captain America, it's there standing like a fucking badass, and he screams, he runs into battle and screams, bring me Thanos with his new hammer. Oh, I love it. I absolutely love it, dude.

SPEAKER_02

We get more funny interactions with Rocket and uh and Groot. We got Groot going, I am Groot, and it's like I am Steve Rogers. That was funny.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because um they're all fighting, and Steve and Thor kind of catch up. Uh Steve tells him, got a new haircut. Thor goes, I can see that you've copied my beard. And he goes, Yeah, um, I want to introduce you to my new friend. This is Tree. Groot goes, I am Groot. And I love this line delivery so much. Steve goes, I am Steve Rogers. He clearly doesn't understand Groot. Like, he doesn't get how he talks yet. It's all I am Groot, right? So he just took it as Groot, introducing himself as I am Groot. It's so Freaking earnest, dude. Like it's so like it's such an honest response from Steve. Like that, that is Steve. That ain't Captain America. He's like, Oh, I'm Steve Rogers. Your group. Okay. Absolutely love it. And they, you know, continue to kick ass.

SPEAKER_02

And then there's Rocket with Bucky. He's like, Hey, how much for that arm? Call back.

SPEAKER_01

Ignores him.

SPEAKER_02

Um, yeah. Not for sale. He's like, no, no, he's like, not for sale. He's like, what about the gun? Also, not for sale. I'm gonna get that arm.

SPEAKER_01

Cut two.

SPEAKER_03

Which will let yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Titan, uh, Thanos' home planet with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Or, yeah, Guardians of the Galaxy, like except for Brute and Rocket. Tony, Doctor Strange, and Peter. And they're all there. Ooh. Patching a plant together. It's dude, it's so I I don't get sick of see you. Can never get sick of seeing like these new groups, new characters in uh interacting together. It's just stuff we do we've never we don't see. I mean, we're gonna get it later this year with um Doomsday. But it's crazy to see this now. Like this was like huge. We're getting two different hero franchises meeting together. Oh, actually, three, because we're getting oh well no, Doctor Strange didn't have a franchise yet. Whatever. Yeah, but it it was it's really cool. It's honestly really cool to see. And so they hatch a plan. And the plan okay, let's go over the plan. The plan was basically to come at him kind of one-on-one, distract him, and use Mantis's powers to put him to sleep. Yeah. And the plan nearly worked. Like, it nearly worked. They're all hitting him. We're getting a bunch of really cool. Oh, eaters going through these portals that Doctor Strange is using. Uh uh Spider-Man is swinging around and doing stuff. Again, a bunch of really cool stuff. They manage to get him down to his knees, restrain his arms, they bring Mantis, falls from one of the Doctor Strange portals, and uses her powers to put him to sleep. And while they're all restraining him, he's still there though. Like he's fighting the urge to sleep of Mantis.

SPEAKER_02

He has like this Willis, like Mantis had her something. He's very strong. He's like fighting her off still, or like people are holding him down. Yeah, Drax, Iron Man, uh, Peter, uh uh Spider-Man, and still he's like resisting.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, even Doctor Strange, he's holding him down with these weird like classical ropes or whatever. And while they have him restrained, kinda, Peter Parker, and Tony are like kind of trying to wiggle off the gauntlet. And like, you know, Thanos is still kind of there, so he's kind of trying to stop them. So he's they're trying to wiggle it off. And uh Star Lord comes in, he's like, ha! I knew this would work, by the way. I just wanted to let you guys all know this was my plan, and it worked. Ha! So he goes, Hey, Thanos, where's Gomora? And Nebula says, Well, that kind of insinuates that he must be dead because they both went to Vormir. He came back, she didn't. That's kind of now registering in Quill's head. He's like, No, no, tell me she's lying. He's like, No, he can't. He's like, I can't, I had to. He's like, asshole, tell me you're lying. Tell me she's wrong. And again, even with everybody restraining him, his mind is like, let me keep this gauntlet on, also, let me try to fight Mantis's power to stay awake. He goes, again, almost like like regrettably, says, I had to.

SPEAKER_03

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

And what happens? Quill loses it. Rightfully so. I'll say this rightfully so, he loses it.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, I will say it is his hundred percent his fault, but he it's understandable.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, let's we I skipped something by accident. My bad. Before they hatch this plan, they're trying to talk it out, and they point out, like, hey, what's your friend Doctor Strange doing? And Doctor Strange sitting like crisscross applesauce floating, and he's like glitching out or whatever, and they're like, Hey, what were you doing? He's like, Oh, well, I looked into the future, okay, and I I looked into the future to see how many like possibilities there were that we could possibly win this or whatever. And they're like, Oh, how many did you see? And I think this is like one billion something or a million something, 1.4 million or whatever, like that. 1,436,000, whatever, whatever. And he goes, Okay, how many did we win? And he goes, one cut, and then we we cut to Wakanda, then we cut back here, right? Again, I think Quill is totally justified in his feelings, but he fucked him. He could have waited a few minutes, man.

SPEAKER_02

He could have waited a few minutes and later.

SPEAKER_01

Not even a few minutes, a few seconds, because Tony's yelling at him. Calm down, take it easy. We almost got this off. And he can't. Again, we saw that we saw this in Guardians 2. He was perfectly fine. His dad tells him it broke my heart. Oh, I fucking hate him for doing that. I I'm just like realizing it in my head, saying it in my head again. I it it broke my heart to have to put that tumor in her.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Fuck that guy. And Peter, even though he's in like this trance space thing, comes out of it because his emotions took over and lost his shit. Right? Same thing happened here. Loses it, starts beating Thanos with his blaster, beating him back and forth, back and forth. And in doing so, kind of like messed up Mantis. Tony tries to pull him back. Mantis gets thrown off by Thanos, and it's it's dude, it's crazy because as she falls off, the gauntlet comes off, and just by like the skin of his teeth, his fingertips manages to just his fingertips grabs the gauntlet and snags it back on while throwing everyone else aside. Okay, so now I want your opinion on you know, them almost having the gauntlet off and then what Peter what Peter Quill did.

SPEAKER_02

Uh Peter, god damn it, Peter. All you had to do was wait five minutes or wait a few seconds, and we would have then you could have learned all the smackdown you wanted on him.

SPEAKER_01

So I'll ask this question after we finish like talking about the movie movie, like get down to the end of it. So I'll remember this, but um, but yeah, almost had it, and now Thanos was already scary. Now he's fucking pissed. Because he like he sends people flying, and now he has his like, he's like, it's uh dude, this is a scary pose and walk from him. He's now stands back up and he's walking towards them, and he's adjusting the gauntlet because he's putting it back on, and he's and his face, he's dude, he's so mad. He's like, Okay, I tried to have a talk with you guys, and this is what happened. You guys are now gonna be fighting them, they try doing stuff, they can't really hang their own. Um, it's nice seeing you know Doctor Strange versus these versus Thanos and all that stuff. And Thanos throws a planet at them. Now it's like shards of the planet.

SPEAKER_02

It's a moon, to be to be politically correct. It's the moon. It's a moon.

SPEAKER_01

He throws one of Titan's moons at them. Again, it's like he he breaks pieces of the moon apart and then uses the power stone slash sp- it's it's okay. So the each of these stones have a power. Power, power, it's space, lets you teleport um the reality, let's change reality, the souls, and whatever. They each have their own separate powers, but when you use them together, like one can power one to do something else. So, like, yes, you have four different combinations of stones, but like pairing them off together, like soul with space or power with reality, can can help you do more things. Um right, it's like unlocking abilities, right? Now that you have more.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So in doing that, he's able to like break off pieces of the moon and basically like shoot them from there down. What a f- And it's not it's not like, oh, let me just shoot the gauntlet of bear and then I'll let me. It's like whipping, like, no, you see him like it takes strength to do such a thing. Like you can see him kind of like have to force the pieces of moon that he's the rubble of the moon to like come down. You see him not struggle, struggle's the wrong word, but it it it does take like force to do it. Yeah. And then we he pretty much like knocks out everybody. Peter's trying to try to make sure nobody freaking falls to their death. We get Strange versus Thanos. Awesome, awesome stuff. I wish we got more of it, but awesome stuff. Thanos knocks him out. It's crazy because a bunch of the ways uh strange loses fights is by like getting choked out or being knocked out.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, he really joke him out a lot.

SPEAKER_01

What did you think of the strange Thanos fight? Well, we're gonna break this up into pieces, but what did you think of their fight?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's cool to see more of strange magic. We don't get to see that too often. And I like the difference. I love when he goes like multiplying, like he comes down with a bunch of those whips that we've seen him do before, but now it's enhanced with like that multiplication. Like him, Shadow Clone Jitsu's himself.

SPEAKER_01

The one time it was useful. Yep. Um, we then you know he knocks him out and he faces off with Tony. Tony tells him, You throw another moon at me, and I'm gonna lose it. Um Thanos Oh, killer, killer line, dude. Killer line. Because like we've seen Tony like again, 10 years. Very few times where we see him like pissed. Pissed. Throw another move at me, another moon at me, I'm gonna lose it. And Thanos calls him by his name. He's like Dark. Tony says, You know me? Thanos goes, You're not the only one cursed with knowledge. You got another killer line. Tony says, My only curse is you, and bolts towards him. He's ready to freaking fight. And you know what? He reaches flow state. He is giving Thanos a beating. Like he's pulling off combos, he's pressing XY, LR, and all that stuff. He's doing it, dude. It's really cool to see and it's really cool that we have this like nanotech suit to like kind of change with what he needs of what he needs. It's really cool. Yeah, he manages to deal an insanely good, like, oh, stomps both of Thanos' hands down to get one like elbow rocket boosted punch at him, square on the jaw, dude. Or on the on the cheek. And yeah, only manages a scratch. Thanos says, it's like Tony did all that work. Yeah, Tony did all that, and like he took it like a break, like a pause. He's like, okay, and Tony's and go ahead and you can say what Thano said.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's uh all that for a drop of blood.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, Oh, that's good. Oh, killer line for killer line after killer line. And then it and then proceeds to beat the shit out of Tony. It's just and it's crazy because um when when they're fighting, like that first little stint of it where Tony's like got I'm not I don't want to say he has the upper hand, but he's getting a majority of the hits. Um Thanos isn't using the the stones, and I'm like, maybe he's trying to fight him without the stones because like maybe I don't need it. I feel like he only uses the stones when he needs to. Like just because he has them doesn't mean he's gonna use them all the time. Um he used them against strange because the dude's magic.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we gotta use magic, you gotta do some of those spells, right?

SPEAKER_01

So, but now after all that, it's almost like as if he was disappointed that he did all that and only got a drop of blood out of him. So now he's pissed. And he's using the stones and, like I said, beating the shit out of Tony. Tony's giving him everything he has left. But it's like with every punch that Thanos is landing, bits and pieces of his nanotech suit are chipping off. Punch after punch, slam after slam, choke slam after choke slam. And you're seeing just more and more bits of the suit breaking off. And I can't tell you how much I was panicking. Like, I I I was panicking so much in the movie, dude. I I kid you not.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

This movie really keeps the tension with you. More and more. And then you can and it's crazy because now Tony's fighting with like half a suit. So when he needs, like, I don't know, a booster rocket for one of his feet, the suit is only covering his top half. It's nanotech, so he can make it move down to his leg to cover the leg. He can move it up to cover his arm or whatever. So he's trying to blast him with like the little heat ray blast that he does with a suit. But you know, Thanos has the infinity gauntlet, it's not doing nothing. Tony manages with the remaining bits of his nanotech suit to like form like a dagger or a sword or a blade or something like that, and goes to stab Thanos with lit literally the last thing that he can do. He only has so much more nanotech to do this. Like it's covering bits and pieces of his chest, and it's his arm with the dagger. Thanos catches his arm, breaks the blade off, no hesitation, stabs Tony. My entire auditorium gasped. Like I I had never heard a a louder collective gasp from a group. Like I remember myself watching the movie like in awe, and then I like I kind of felt my body like jump a little bit. Like, no, like my my guess for this movie was for Cap to die. So seeing this happen, I'm like, there's no, no, no, no, no. You can't be doing this. You can't be doing this. Holds him by the head and tells him, he's like, I hope they remember you. He's about to deal him with like this like blast from the foreign I don't know what he was gonna do. He was gonna do something with his infinity stones. And he's holding it up to his head, he's about to do it, but and Doctor Strange stopped him.

SPEAKER_03

He's like, hey, hey, he asks um Thanos to stop.

SPEAKER_01

He's like, hey, spare him, and in exchange, I'll give you the timestone. And I'm just like, oh you just said you would sacrifice him for the stone. But then you remember he saw 1.4 million features or whatever like that. Yep.

unknown

Thanos.

SPEAKER_03

You know it has to be part of a greater design.

SPEAKER_01

Thanos agrees. Gives him spares Tony. And it was it was really cool because it seemed like that uh Doctor Strange kind of just like plucked the infinity stone out of thin air, like a magician, and gives it to him.

SPEAKER_03

And Thanos now has five infinity stones.

SPEAKER_01

Power, one left, space, reality, soul, and time. Tony asks Doctor Strange why. Doctor Strange tells him it was the only way. See, with that, now we know, like, okay, maybe aga we can argue it, not argue it, but we can like kind of talk about it. But like, okay, so like maybe it didn't matter that Peter kind of fucked them. Like maybe in a bunch of these you know, 1.4 million possibilities of what could have happened, maybe this happened every time. Um again, it's one of those like things have to go. Even you now know how things go, now everything has to go accordingly that way. They can't get in the way of it. Yeah. So who knows? Um, but what did you think of this Thanos Tony Stark fight?

SPEAKER_02

Ooh, that it was good. See, just seeing Tony just put everything he got, like you and it like putting everything on the line, just it's so good. It was just so good, so intense, and you feel like you get so worried because you know he can't do it. You know, you know deep down he can't do it. He but we believed, but we believed we wanted to believe that he could.

SPEAKER_01

I think it's really um like cool to knowing how this movie ends, like in terms of like the fights that Thanos goes through, um, like one-on-ones and stuff like that. No one gave him as hard a fight as Tony did. And maybe he didn't really struggle at all in the fight at all. But like it gives more like credence to what Cap said that he was Earth's best defender. And he lost. Yep, and he lost. Absolutely what um what was going through your head when you saw Tony get stabbed?

SPEAKER_02

I was like, no, don't kill him yet.

SPEAKER_01

Yet he killed. Oh, that's funny. Um, again, cut to earth where everybody is still fighting. Okay, we get some cool little stuff like, oh, um, Fiz, you gotta run away. We couldn't get the stun out of your head. Shuri and them are gonna try to create some time to get you into the forest. I don't know why. Um Wanda leaves to go help them out. Okoye goes, why was she up there all this time? That was funny. Yeah. Um, we get a cool little Oh, we got a really cool Okay, so at some point to make at some point Thanos' army brings in these giant weird blades that like kind of just run rampant. And those are just like going through in and out of the war, whatever. And we got this cool little fight of Black Widow, Wanda, and Okoye all fighting Proxima Midnight. That was cool. 3v1, really cool to see. And it ended with Wanda throwing Proxima Midnight up in the air as one of those giant blade things was coming, and she got shredded.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Oh yeah, they they really final they final destination her real quick.

SPEAKER_01

That was brutal, dude. That's brutal. Oh impressive quayo was like, oh, but she's up through this whole time.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I love that.

SPEAKER_01

And Wanda is with vision and is like, what are we gonna do? We gotta do something. Uh what do we do? And then all of a sudden, ooh, this is super good. All of a sudden, because you hear the the the battles and everything going off in the background, the screams, the punches, the gunfire, everything. And then all of a sudden, it stops. It's kind of just like silent. You just hear wind blowing through the trees, and like it's weird because like Cap, Natasha, our the entire cast is kind of just like looking around like, whoa, what's going on? What's going on? And the vision gets like his stone, the stone in his head starts hurting him. He's like, Oh no. He's here. And cut here comes in through a portal in slow motion. Thanos. Bruce tells Cap that's him. I feel like at every point we've seen Thanos so far, he's kind of just been like, again, yes, intimidating. But he's he's like there to talk. He talked to Doctor Strange and them, he talked to Tony, he talked to Gamora, he talked to Peter, and he talked to all he talked to Thor and them at the beginning of the movie. He talked to all of them. And here it's just like, no, stone faced, he's walking forward. Black Panther tries to stop him, can't. Natasha tries to stop him, can't. Cap tries to stop him, can't. Uh Bruce in the Hulk Buster suit tries to stop him, he can't. Vision knows nothing's gonna stop him from here on out. We don't have time for Shuri to safely remove this stone. It has to be you. So and and Wanda's like, I I'm not even gonna hear what you're saying right now because I'm I'm just not gonna do it. We we kind of learned earlier on that Wanda could do it, but by doing it her way, it would like destroy the stone and kill um Vision. So like that's out of the question, obviously. But he's telling her, it has to be. Like, if you if you don't do it right now, he's gonna get what he wants. Half the universe dies. You have to do it. And he reassures to her, it's okay. I only feel you a callback to what they did earlier in the movie. Real oh dude, really sweet line, incredibly sweet line. And we know Wanda's in tears, in tears. The Avengers get back up and they're trying to attack him. Literally nothing, nothing they do is can't stop him. Thanos hasn't stopped once. Um, Cap kind of held him back for a second, but for like a mere second. You cannot like barely. Like he held his hand. He's like, no, no, and then Thanos is just like, I'm gonna punch you.

SPEAKER_02

Just a quick rather punch to the face, man. I'm not gonna lie. I did not want to be at Captain America right in that moment. I flinched at that punch.

SPEAKER_01

What's crazy is like we've never seen we've seen Cap not necessarily beaten. I mean, we kind of saw him beaten in Avenger, in uh Captain America The Winter Soldier when he was fighting Bucky. But he was he was taking the punches, you know, wieldingly. I don't think we've ever seen him like knocked out.

SPEAKER_02

Just like fur on just knocked up, knocked out.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Um again, he's making his way. Wanda hat you know, the vision has made the decision. So she starts basically like using her Wanda magic to like I don't even know what she what's her I don't even know what to call it really, but she's like blasting the stone with her powers to kind of try to destroy it, and he's saying there, Thanos has now gone through everybody. He's like steps, he's feet away from her. So with one hand, she's blasting the stone to try to destroy it, and with the other hand, she's holding back Thanos, multitasking. Like the dude who's about to kill you both, or at the very least, kill you the love of your life, is you're holding him off with one hand, but you now have to kill the love of your life. The music's building up so well you can and you know again, vision's just there taking it. And right when it's about to happen, is there's like this calmness, this ease that kind of comes over Vision and he's just like kind of like kind of a a little bit of a smile towards Wanda and says, I love you, like mouths it, we can't hear him. Mouths it's and explosion, vision, the body and the stone. We see the stone like crack and shatter, and then the explosion, the vision, dead, the stone is destroyed. We haven't talked about it. We haven't talked about it once, like we haven't mentioned the the effects of this movie. Now, yes, they're great, they're fantastic. They have to be. There's only one thing that kind of looks iffy, and that is when they show Bruce's head sticking out of the bulk buster. Yeah. But that's been the thing with like every single time they show the head out of the suit for the Iron Man stuff, for the iron suits or whatever. Yeah, that's whatever. But the the effects are absolutely like phenomenal, right? It is in this scene when the explosion happens. Again, the music's gone. The music kind of like fades away, the dust kind of settles, and Thanos is there with like he he kind of got blown back by the blast a little bit, the explosion. Yeah, and he looks back up and like the sun is shining on his face. I'm not even kidding, dude. I know it's fake, like I know it's CG, I know it's a character. It is some of the best view effects I've ever seen because you can see the details in his face, like the grooves in his face. You can see the you can see the hair follicles on his face.

SPEAKER_02

I like the like the sunspots of his face too.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, it yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, there's there's like slight discoloration spots on his face, like you know, if someone's been out in the sun too long or something.

SPEAKER_01

It and it it blows my mind. It blows my mind. Like, specifically, again, it looks great all throughout the movie. Specifically, that shot of like hit like it and it they like zoom in on it too. They like hold it on his face, his face is on the screen, and there's something about like he looks good, and then the sun kind of shines on his face where you see all where it really like um extended really shows off the detail. Yeah, it's oh fun fact, I've I saw this movie ten times ten times in theaters.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I saw this at I think I saw it three times in theaters.

SPEAKER_01

Every that first every time I got to that scene, I kind of like stood up out of my seat to stare at it. Every time I watch the movie at home, I'll hey for what it's worth, I pause the movie right there and I go and look at the detail in his face. It's it's it blows my mind how real it looks.

SPEAKER_03

And I know it's not um it's the effects-wise, it's it's phenomenal.

SPEAKER_01

They're they're phenomenal. No surprise there. No surprise there. Um yeah, you know, we're like, oh dang, what now? Thanos is Thanos can't do it, Thanos can't do what he did. Um Juana's devastated, she's just like there, moped over. She's like, absolutely, uh, whatever. And he goes over to her, puts his hand on her head, and says, I've lost more today than you'll ever understand. Uses the timestone. You're like, no. Like, what? What do you would what? What uses the timestone, does the the really cool effect thing on the over the wrist thing. Yeah. Rewinds time, and you see like the the pieces of of vision just come back together, like all back up. The stone, as soon as the stone is like fully repaired, the life in Vision's eyes come back up, but like before he can process what's happening, Thanos already has him by the throat. Wanda's like, no, Wanda screams, no, and he just slaps her away, throws her away, and oh the most brutal death. We're not we're not about I say we. I'm not a huge gore person. I know Adam. I don't I don't know if it is you like it, but like you don't mind it, you can deal with it. I I genuinely can't.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, well, I'm a horror movie fan, so okay, never mind.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I did uh yeah, right? This wasn't gore, but it was gore. I don't know how to explain it. There is something disgusting about holding him by the throat, and he just picks the fucking stone out of his forehead. Like, not like, oh, let me cut away. No, they so you I can't even think about it.

SPEAKER_02

The thing that makes it for me what made it gross was the fact that his head it's not that he plucked the stone from his head, he's no, he kind of crushes his like I don't want to say skull because it's not it's not like he has a skull, but it's like he crushes like the forehead and then rips out like yeah, it's not that he's just plucking it out, he knows he he like grabs it by the roots of his brain and then just rips it out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because you can't just grab like the top of the stone, he has to get under it. So his fingers kind of like break dent and break through Vision's head. He has to get under it once he has that good grip of it, pinches it and rips it out. And obviously, when he rips it out, you don't see like the blood or any of the stuff. You just see like weirdly enough, you see like the wires and the hardware that's in him.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's it it weirdly kind of but it kind of has like that visceral look to it, like like it's flesh and blood.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and that's because like Vision's like you know, he has that red color to him. Um, and what made it even more sick and like brutal was um vision's body immediately turns gray, like colorless. He went from this like bright reddish, bluish cape thing or whatever, to just no color, white in his eyes, gray. It was disgusting. I hope you guys are enjoying that ASMR of Adams.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, I'm eating impossible. It's hot in this garage.

SPEAKER_01

Um I'm just gonna put this away for later. I'm sorry. Um absolutely disgusting. Like I was grossed out by watching it. And again, it's it's just like, oh, I broke a robot or whatever. They they made they went out of the way to make this like super insanely visceral.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And now and now Thanos has all six infinity stones power, space, reality, soul, time, and the mind stone. He's accomplished his thing, and it it's and you can see like every time he's put a new stone in the gauntlet, it it doesn't I don't want to say it takes a toll on him, but it's like he has to like adjust to the power.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it takes a little bit more for him, like each time it's like a little bit more taxing for him to wear it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, because I think we even saw it in like the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, like even those people who tried to hold. Remember the collector's uh servant or whatever, assistant tried holding the power stone, and she was like immediately like obliterated. Um we get the backstory to the to the power stone, we see all those, even when those what like eight people in suits tried holding it together, like, oh what if we spread the power around? Maybe one person can't, but all of us can. They were all obliterated. The guardian of the gas.

SPEAKER_02

I hold it for like a second, yeah, yeah. But then, well, that's because we later find out that Peter's like uh celestial, part celestial, part celestial, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, yeah, so so yeah, we can see that like every time he puts a a new uh stone in the gauntlet, that it's very taxing on the body. Um, and like he's in our heads, we're like, okay, he's done it. Before we can even think, before Thanos can even celebrate, Thor strikes him down with thunder. He's like, Oh, what the heck? And he's knocked to his ass. Probably the first time he's been knocked to his ass in the entire movie. He's like, What caught off guard? Thor there to kick his ass, took Stormbreaker at him. Thanos, still kind of reeling from the thunder, is sees the Stees Stormbreaker coming at him, uses this really cool like infinity gauntlet blast, shoots it at the at Stormbreaker, and oh, it's talk about sound design. It doesn't stop the the Stormbreaker because Stormbreaker's still spinning and coming at him, but there's this really cool, like weird, like vibration sound that came from it. Really satisfying sound, really cool, and he's holding it, and you can just see the Stormbreaker slowly going down the trail of the blast, not stopping whatsoever. It's not slowing down at all at all, and it hits Thanos a serious killer blow. And you what would you call the kind of like hammer thing that Stormbreaker is? Is it like an axe?

SPEAKER_02

It's a war axe. It's with like the hammer and it's just war axe. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you the axe end, the axe end hits him and it's in his body, and he's like, oh and like he's on his knees. Thor comes up to him and he told him, I told you, you die for that. A callback to the beginning of the movie when he killed when Thanos killed Heimdall. You're gonna die for that. Thor, hits him in the chest, and as he tells him that he's pressing the hammer axe into into Thanos, and Thanos is screaming in pain, and he's just like he's reeling, uh he starts mumbling and Thanos Thor goes, huh? He goes, You should have gone for the head. And as he says that, his raises hands he raises his left hand, which is the hand the gauntlet is on, and he snaps like a flash of white that takes up the whole screen. It's okay. Let's talk about let's talk about the lead up to the snap, okay? Let's talk about the lead up to the snap.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

We know in the comics going into this movie that after he got the infinity stones, he stood to impress death. Alright, mind you, that that part doesn't matter, but he stood at the edge of the universe and he snapped and wiped out half the universe. Did you think did you think that we would see that happen in this movie?

SPEAKER_02

I I honestly I wasn't sure. Like, I like because you know, it's you're gonna kill like half the universe. I didn't know if Disney had the balls to do it to actually have him go through with it. But all of and then, like, dude, so back to what we were saying before about like theater experience. One of like the greatest moments was like hearing the collect, like, by the way, this was like a packed theater. This was like opening. I watched this like a day early screening, so you know it was like packed, every not there wasn't an empty seat in that room, and I think I even saw some kids crouching on the stairwell, but anyways, uh, dude, the collective gasp when he snapped, like you hear that snap, and like the whole room just gasped. Like, oh my god, like it was just a collective moment where everyone was feeling the same way, shocked, and like, oh no. It was like that was like one of the greatest moments ever.

SPEAKER_01

I knew going into the movie that like that what that was what he did in the comics. But I like you, I was just like, I I I felt like they would have maybe teased it, but they wouldn't have done it, like they would stop him. Like, I knew there was another movie coming out in the f in the future because when they announced these movies, they were announced as Avengers Infinity War Part One and Part Two. So I was just like, I don't think they'll do the snap because it's too it's too crazy of a thing. And how many m uh at this point in time, how many Marvel movies have we seen where they do something crazy, but we never see like the next movie doesn't talk about it, or the next movie after that doesn't talk about it, right? They all kind of live in their own little bubble until it's time to like do an Avengers movie. So I didn't know what to expect. And as soon as he got the six infinity stones, I'm like, okay, he's here, and then he gets stabbed. He gets struck down by Thor. And I'm like, oh, okay. I'm kind of disappointed that we didn't get the snap. But like he's not gonna get to do it. He's not like he got the infinity stones and he was stopped from doing it. Okay. When he snapped Adam, I so obviously I was at the edge of my seat, as was my entire auditorium. As soon as he snapped and the and the screen went white for like two seconds, I shot back in my seat. Like it was it was like that, like it was like a lash, like it's like basketball when they shoot like a buzzer beater, and you're like, no, no, no, no. We just we just had the lead or whatever. In my head, I'm like in my head telling myself, no, no, no. There's no way they just did that. Like you they they they won. They they even though people died, they won. They had it right there in the palm of their hands, and the and Thanos still managed to get the snap because I knew what the snap meant, right? I was like, no, no, no, no, no. And then we get back to the snap. We like the the flash goes away, right? We get back, and Thanos is like, Thanos, Thor is like, what did you do? What did you do? And Thanos kind of looks around real quick and then teleports away with the power stone. Yeah, leaves leaves Stormbreaker there. You can see the blood on Stormbreaker, it's it's brutal. Um now, like, not just our characters, but us, we're kind of like looking around on the screen like we know what this is. We know what's gonna happen. We we know, and we're looking around, and everybody's like kind of like checking themselves on screen, like what uh um, and then you hear in the background Um Steve and Bucky kind of like dusts away, like turns into dust and floats away. He's the first to go, like he like he falls forward and he's the body doesn't hit the ground because he like I don't even know what you call it. I I just call it dust. Jesus he turned yeah, he got dusted, man. He got dusted. Um, we're not gonna use the lingo that they use in the future Marvel movies. We'll do that when we get to it, but like he's he's the first to dust the way, and and that's and then the realization hits that this is no, this is really happening. He's wiping out half the universe. I remember turning over to Kikan, and I was like, Kikan, he he did it. He he did it. And then so now I gotta sit back and just watch people, and it's obviously it's not like everybody here on the screen is gonna fade away.

SPEAKER_02

It's it's it's random now because like I know it's just like it's this tense moment because now you're wondering who's gonna make it, who who doesn't, who survives. You're just you're looking at your character like you're praying to God they don't get dusted. It's just such this tense moment with like no music going on.

SPEAKER_01

And oh yeah, I'm trying to see who got blipped in like the order. Um, but yeah, Bucky is the Bucky is the first to go. Yeah. Oh, it's not gonna let me in order. Okay, but I I have a list of people who did get blipped. Um, but Bucky's the first to go. And then slowly we start seeing other people. Um there's a sad one where Roadie is looking for Sam, and as he's looking for him, Sam uh dusts away. Dusts away. Wanda dusts away. Um this one this one actually blew my mind because I didn't think they'd do it. T'chala dusts away. Yeah. And you can see it, they kind of do like a wide shot where you see other members of like the of the Wakanda army start blipping away. And I'm like But I see some people staying like um Okoye stayed, didn't didn't dust away. Like it's it's super random. I'm like, oh my gosh, what's what's what's happen what's happen and then my head realizes they go back over there, they cut over there. And it's weird because it's like they've been there for who knows how long at this point, and it the sky is a little darker, it's windier now. It's like it's like the universe sent this warning across.

SPEAKER_02

It's yeah, it's like this ominous chit like weight, like there's this ominous storm in the air, you know? It's like I was watching the happening again.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Ugh, remember way better. Way better. Um and they're like, they kind of like look around, they're like, what, what's uh what's and then Drax is like, Will Drax is the first to fade away. Mantis fades away. We cut back to to Wakanda where where Groot is fading away. And dude, this one uh I'm not even kidding. As people are fading away, I'm in my seat laying back, and I'm holding my shirt up to my eyes, fighting back tears. I'm fighting them back so hard because so I cry to movies, you know. If a movie makes me cry, it makes me cry, right? But I was watching this movie with uh my brother Kikan and our neighbor uh Ray, and I was just like, fuck. I don't think these dudes have seen me cry in a movie. I'm not gonna let the like the ego started like popping out a little bit, like subconsciously, was like, I'm not about to let these dudes see me cry. So I pull my shirt up to my eyes. I'm like, okay, dude, and I'm I'm not even kidding. My eyes have so much water in them where if I blink, it's gonna start pouring, right? Groot is is dusting away, and Rocket is like going to him, like, no, no, no, no, no, no. He loses Groot again, dude. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

So, like so, and for those of you who don't know, then they later on confirm this.

SPEAKER_01

Right before he dusts away, he says, I am I am Groot, and he says translates to and it translates to uh dad.

SPEAKER_02

Oh you just use like he called Rocket Dad. He's like, I'm like, uh no, that's like the most heartbreaking thing ever.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my goodness, dude. It's it's so and then we you know we're we're on Titan, and like, and then as Peter is seeing Peter Quill is seeing um the rest of his guardians get dusted away, he's like now realizing like like what happened, and he goes, Oh gosh, and he he fades away, he dusts away. I'm just like, what's happening? Like, oh my god, like the guardians are gone. What's happening? And in the back, you hear, Mr.

SPEAKER_03

Stark, and in my I'm like, no, no, we just got you, don't leave us yet now.

SPEAKER_01

He goes, Mr. Stark, I'm not feeling too good. No, what are you doing? Movie, and then he like hug he like falls into uh uh Tony's hands. He's like and he starts crying. He's like, I don't want to go. I don't want I don't want to go. I don't want to go, please. I want I don't want to go. And like he goes to he falls onto his back and he's just like I'm sorry, and then he dusts away, and it's right here where I'm I am literally like uh uh a gust of wind away from like tears falling straight down my like I'm dude, I'm fighting these tears with my life, you know? And then all I hear is someone next to me, that that someone is Keekan, tells me, same, same, and I turn to look at him and Keekan's bawling. And I'm like, okay, Kikan's okay with crying. So I blink and then I start bawling.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

I was just like, oh that that that that Peter death like hurt so much.

SPEAKER_02

It feels uh it feels too real. Well forget this is like a 15-year-old kid. Yeah. This is like and you're just like and the way he's just like you he's like going to like he goes to start like begging for a way to like uh begging for a way to you know save himself, save him, and it's just it's heartbreaking.

SPEAKER_01

And he's begging he's begging like Tony to like help him survive. Yeah. And then on top of that, is it in the first Spider-Man in the MCU movie that we get where he's like, if something happened to you, I feel like that's on me.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like he would blame himself for that. Something happened to him. Yeah. So now, you know, Tony has that on his mind that like he couldn't protect you know, somebody who maybe he saw as a kid, as his kid. Um yeah, so like all those people, again, countless other people, at this point we can just assume that like half the universe um gets wiped away. Nebula is kind of just like standing there, knowing the severity of it all, knowing that this was gonna happen. And he says, She says, he did it. That's all she says. Tony sits there, yeah. Which is a shot we got in the trailer with like his hands covering his face with like blood. He sits there, defeated, knowing that he lost, knowing he failed. Where they're kind of just like over Vision's dead body, and they're like you can see in the background that Bruce is like really bummed out because like they lost he knows they lost. People died, they couldn't keep Vision safe, any of these people safe. Natasha runs in and she goes, What happened? Like, what's going on? And these are the last lines of the movie. Cap says, he sits there defeated, kind of the same way uh Tony is, parallels, sitting next to Vision's dead body, and he just says, like, like obviously out of breath because they just went through a war, he goes, Oh god.

SPEAKER_03

I know. Uh so real quick, I just want to say I was not the same after this movie. No. I wasn't easy.

SPEAKER_01

You know what? We let's go over the post-credit scene real quick. So that's that's how the movie ends. And then post-credit scene. We're like we're like in the dusting stuff, like as it's happening, where like helicopter pilot got dusted, helicopters are crashing, people are losing it, people are dusting while running away looking for help or whatever.

SPEAKER_02

I'm glad we got to see that just to see like the natural the like the horrible disaster that this is.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, and we don't even know like half of it. Who knows? Like, there could have been boats that were being piloted that, like, you know, who knows exactly the the amount of accidents, like imagine like planes falling off the air, just just people driving, and then boom, they're gone. Yeah, it's insane. It's it's really insane, and so all this is happening, and you know, I think like a car crashes, and the people get out, and it's Nick Fury and Maria Hill. Okay, cool, cool. They're like, what is going on? Helicopter crashes. Uh Nick is holding something, they're like, what the heck? And he's like, I don't know Maria Hill's uh character name. Maria Hill. Oh. Or maybe he was just gonna say Hill. Oh, he's about to tell her something. He turns around, she's dusting away. He's like, Yeah, what? And then he realizes he's dusting away, and then I think his final line is like Mother, and then he blips away. Not blips, he dusts away. That was funny. You had to get it in there, yeah. Got it. And right before he dusts away, he drops something. Camera pans over to this, like, um, what are those called? Uh beepers? Uh yeah, it's like pager. Pager, there we go. And it's a pager, and it's like loading, loading, and then a logo pops up, and it's the Captain Marvel signal. He sent a distress signal to Captain Marvel before he dusted away. Smart man.

SPEAKER_03

And that's the movie. Um yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So, real quick, I just want to say Chadwick Bozeman was in this movie. He played Black Panther, obviously, guys. Um, again, we said it we just talked about the Black Panther movie not that long ago.

SPEAKER_03

Um RIP to him.

SPEAKER_01

It's it's it's weird seeing these movies now. Not just these MCU movies with him, uh, but like other movies with him in it now. Um yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um, this movie though. I think it's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

And we kinda talked about it yesterday. I forget when we talked about it. It might have been when we were doing the um Black Panther review. That this is the movie's called Avengers Infinity War. But this is Thanos' movie. Yeah. He's the main character, he's the protagonist. He actually has the most screen time out of anybody on the on screen.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Insane. Frick insane, dude.

SPEAKER_01

Um what were your thoughts coming out of the movie? The movie just ended, you sat through the post-credit scene, and now you're going home. What were your thoughts? I was just shocked.

SPEAKER_03

And like I couldn't like, I just couldn't believe it.

SPEAKER_02

Like it was it was just so like, you know, like you like you just watched all your favorite, like we watched Spider-Man die. And I just couldn't believe it.

SPEAKER_03

You know, it was it was heartbreaking, and just like that collective gasp of like, is this how it ends?

SPEAKER_02

Like everyone in the theater, like when the credits are rolling, everyone's like, that like you can almost hear everyone just go, like, is that it? What? Like, no way.

SPEAKER_03

Like that that can't be it's exactly uh I guess we kind of said it earlier about like Thanos having to deliver. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You can't do Infinity War and have it not deliver. Like there's a weight to the title that you can just make up, oh this could have just been called Avengers 3 and who cares, right? No, you're dubbing it Infinity War. You have to deliver, and this delivered in so on so many levels. Yeah. Again, we talked about every single character feels like the character they were going into the movie. Like in the terms of like, no one feels out of place, no one feels like uh that's not how that character would act in their movies or whatever. The only one that seems the most different is Thor. But then again, he's probably acting different because half his people just got murdered. Yeah, he just saw his brother die again.

SPEAKER_03

He lost the most in this movie, honestly.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And it like Again, this is all about I I I think I mentioned it when we were like halfway through the the movie review, where I was just like, this one thing I absolutely love about this movie is that it's a movie about choices. And like, like we'll we'll get to like two of the biggest choices, and that is well, Peter Quill not being able to keep his cool.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He chose to let his emotions take over, which as much as mad as people were mad at that character too. They were mad at him for losing his cool because you know they blame him. But like you know, yeah, he made the choice to do so. He he he again, I don't think him losing it, like I don't think it was I I don't think it wasn't like unwarranted. Like I think it was gonna happen. Yeah, you understand you knew he he was gonna lose his shit. Yeah, it doesn't feel out of place, like it doesn't feel out of character. Yeah. Um, and the other one is you you could you could totally blame Peter Quill if you want to, right? Um then again you could just fall back on that, like, well, maybe he had to do that because of the Doctor Stranger thing. I don't know. But the other person you could blame, I feel like rightfully so, is Thor. He made the choice to specifically go, and again, we've seen Thor with his hammer, we've seen Thor. Thor is 1,500 years old. Who knows how many fights he's been in? My dude knows how to aim. He specifically chose to go for Thanos' chest so he wouldn't die right away, so he could call back to what he told him earlier in the movie. Like this was all done, like he specifically chose to strike him this way, so he could go to him and tell him, I told you you were gonna die for that. Could have really killed him right then and there, but just wanted to tease him a little bit more by pressing the axe further into his chest. Yeah, or could have uh gotten it done.

SPEAKER_02

You know what someone said I I think I saw like a like a parody of the say, you know, he didn't actually need to go for the head, he could have just gone for the arm.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but again, just yeah, like he I don't say he did it for Heimdob, but he said like he did it for his own will, like his own good. Like he did it for himself, yeah. Not immediately going for either of them was for that reason.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, insane. Absolutely insane.

SPEAKER_01

So, like I got like I said, I I absolutely adore this movie. Um it's really hard to fault this movie for me because and this isn't this is like bias aside, like movie-wise, if it had a not great runtime, all this could feel way more like jumbled together. Like, I feel like the movie is edited really well, so there's a lot of stuff happening constantly.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like I don't know how many times you said cut cut to in this in this review, but I specifically did that because they do it a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, that Loki just died. Oh, that cut to Earth, where he's now landing in this. Oh, you guys are talking about you guys are being attacked by Ebony Maw and Cole Obsidian, Tony and Doctor Stranger meeting for the first time. Cut to the Guardians, we gotta introduce them into this movie and do all this. Cut to Peter and them have been uh abducted, and now they're on space. Cut like it happens so often. And I kind of pointed out just for the sake of like, hey, just let you guys know, they're constantly cutting to a bunch of different things going on at the same time, and they managed to like navigate it so well, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um yeah, it was great. Yeah, honestly, though, they managed to balance it out pretty well. I think it really helps the fact that they this really did lead into the fact that to make like Thanos the main focus of this movie again. They had to. Yeah. Because there's no way you can have like any one Avenger like focused on it. Cause you just there's too much.

SPEAKER_01

I think Tony has the second most screen time. I don't I don't know about how much, but like he still has the second most screen time. Um so you know, there's that. I think originally they didn't even want Cap to be shown in this movie to like the very end of the movie, like kind of like third act type of stuff. But I think when they did um those like people who like watch the movies like they think. Um where's Cap at? Or like why is he s why isn't he in the movie for so late? Um and you kind of get that because they introduce him when he saves Wanda and them. Doesn't do much until the third act when they start doing the final battle.

SPEAKER_03

Um I'm I'm pretty sure they might have just introduced him with like with um what's his name? With Black Panther in them.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what the original plan was, but this works out too. Plus, we got that really cool like out of the shadows reveal. That was neat. That was neat. Um, yeah, this movie's like pacing is top tier. I we already I mentioned the VFX for like that one specific scene, but like throughout the movie it's like really good. I think it's tough to kind of make some specifically like CGI characters taller and then they're fighting like the regular sized people, like uh Proxima Midnight, uh really anybody from uh The Children of Thanos, uh specifically um Corvus Glaive and Proximate Midnight because they're the ones that like interact with the most, like hand-to-hand type of stuff. Um they make it work though, it looks really good. Um there are some things they had to do to kind of make the story work, like you had to like we know probably like the strongest Avenger was most likely. I know Thor, but like Vision. And you had to I hate to say it, but you you had to nerf him somehow. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And they nerfed him. Well, he's they didn't nerf him, they just so much as they made a reason why he couldn't fight.

SPEAKER_01

A really good reason, too. Yeah, and it's a good thing they have a character that has like that strong of a scythe. Like, it wasn't just like it's a random scythe, like, no, this scythe is like the real deal, guys. They're gonna have to tell us that, but like whatever. Um yeah, I feel like I don't know. I I I could say that Wanda could have done more, but she did. And again, this isn't this isn't fully powered Wanda. Like, I don't even think at this point Wanda knows how much she can do. Yeah, like her potential is still there for future movies shows to do. Um, so they didn't have to do it here. Um there isn't much for some characters like Natasha to do. Not not a fault, not a fault, not a fault at all.

SPEAKER_02

But you know, yes, to be fair, she's not like she's in it that much. I mean, she does her thing. Yeah, a lot of characters are used sparingly. I mean, they get in, they do their thing, they get a good equipment, a good line, they and they move on.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like they when the characters that they want to make shine, whether they're good people or bad people, like villains and whatever, um, they're like, okay, these are gonna be the main ones. And the main ones are like uh Thor, like Thor, Iron Man, and Thanos. Um, probably the The Guardians too, more so. Gamora's another big one. All those have the most screen time, rightfully so, because like they're way more involved with like the main story. Um, even though the whole main story is like Thanos, but like there isn't much for the re other characters to do. Like, I feel like if you threw them in there, it'd just be like kind of out of place. Like, oh, we kind of have to have you here. Um, but like they divide the characters, I think, pretty well. Like, no one's like, oh, why this group? Or why that group? Like everybody's divided for a specific reason. Like when Rocket is like, okay, how about me and me, Groot, and Thor head over to Nidavilir while you guys go to nowhere? And Peter's like, Yeah, the only reason you're wanting to go to Nidavilir is because it's where Thanos won't be. Because we know you're I know you're scared. Again, it's all in character.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, everyone's in character right now. And in Like and like we said, it this movie breezes by too. Like you don't feel like it's a two. Is it almost like a isn't it two and a half hours?

SPEAKER_01

Or actually, you're pretty dang close. Two hours twenty-nine.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because um and like you don't feel it at all.

SPEAKER_01

You really don't. It breezes by, and that's in like that's all due to the pacing. There is no point, there's no like dull point in this movie. It picks it starts off hot and just continue and like stays there. Starts off hot. It goes from like fight. There's a bunch of fight sequences in this movie, too. Like I can tell you in the beginning, yeah, we got that beginning attacking Thor and his ship, Hulk and them, and then we got Doctor Strange and Tony fighting off Cole Obsidian and Ebony Maw. And then we got the Guardian surviv rescuing Thor. And then we got Captain America saving Wanda and Viz. And then we we get it's just back to back to back to back to back, and they're all so different. Cause you have so many different characters like fighting. There's all so many different styles, so many different combos, so many different environments that you can do, and like as the fights go on long like deeper into the movie, the stakes just get higher and higher and higher and higher. You become more nervous. It's it's it's really well put together. Um, I feel like they could have added an extra, let's just say, five to ten minutes of the movie if they showed the like this movie has to junk to had to juggle so much that they're like we don't even have time to show Thanos getting the power stone. He has it. Yeah. And simple explanation. My dude just obliterated Xandar and got it. Alright, we don't need we don't need to see that. We really don't.

SPEAKER_03

Like out of all the places we visit here, that's the one we had to visit the least.

SPEAKER_01

It would have been nice to see John C. Riley's character again. Well, whatever. Whatever. Whatever. Whatever.

SPEAKER_02

I'm sure that, dude, I don't think they could afford John C. Riley considering everyone there.

SPEAKER_01

This movie could have done it. Yeah. They yeah, they definitely could have done it. They totally could. Take an extra million out from the fucking uh promotion budget. They definitely couldn't. Everybody takes a 20 gram.

SPEAKER_02

If you think about it, like it's not like everyone's not already gonna go see this movie. Yeah, exactly. This might be like literally the most anticipated movie of the decade, if not the past two decades, honestly.

SPEAKER_01

I'll say for sure it's probably the most anticipated. Oh, is it the most anticipated Marvel movie of all time? I don't know, because those those Spider-Man movies get like people get really hyped for those.

SPEAKER_02

Like I'm I I'll go, I'll go. Um I'll go, yeah, I'd say it's more than Spider-Man movies. I I will admit that the No Way Home one came close, but like, nah. You you mean you I mean you I we were I think I was gonna say that I mean you've seen the T you've seen the theaters, you know how ravenous it got, yeah, how crazy it got out there. It wasn't just a pack theater, like people were lined out, stretched out from like hell, I got lucky that my friend got me like early the day early pat, like you know, exclusive. Like we literally saw it the the night before it came out, right? And I don't know if you did or um I don't know if you saw the day it came out or you got the early pass too, but like I if you didn't like I I'm sure I mean You saw the day of, right? Yeah. Like I can only imagine how like packed it was at that theaters.

SPEAKER_01

I think so. I guess I saw the movie ten times. I think I saw it like I don't remember how long it was in theaters, but I know for a fact I saw it 10 times. I think I might have seen it like twice the week it came out, uh twice the week after that, twice the week after that, and so on. But damn, I really did see this movie 10 times. That's crazy. That's actually crazy. Um yeah, I think it was it was packed every time I went. Maybe except for like the last three times. Like it had already been out for a few weeks. Yeah, but I I I loved it. I absolutely loved it. And like you said, it's it's it's this movie is so it's two and a half hours long, but it's incredibly rewatchable because of its pacing. Because it like you said, it flies by.

SPEAKER_03

It flies, like you don't feel that at all. At all. Um get up that thing.

SPEAKER_01

Um also like a bunch, a bunch of great performances in this movie. Great, like Robert Downey Jr. And specifically Robert Downey Jr. and Thor and Chris Hamsworth. Absolutely insane. Yeah. They like they stepped up their game. Everybody did great, but they these two specifically really stepped up their game. I'd say even Elizabeth Olson.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I mean, I th well I'm sure they knew like what kind of like this was gonna be like a major answer. Like, I bet they all like probably wanted to step it up for the big event.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but it's more down to like the what their characters are written to do and say. Um, like this is a different Thor than we got in Ragnarok. And granted, we get reasons to why he's a little different, because like I explained whatever happened in the beginning of the movie. Um but like from there on out, like this is the best version of Thor. This Thor, and then like Chris Hamzer's performance as like when he's having that heart to heart with Rocket, so dang good. It's so good. Um there are scenes where like him and Robert Jen Jr. just aren't they aren't talking, but they're just like it's it's all in the face. Yeah, they knock it out of the park, absolutely knock it out of the park. Um yeah. So that's us talking about Avengers Infinity War Adam. Well, anything else you want to say before we get into like the final bits of what we do on the show? What? Any final bits you want to talk about the movie?

SPEAKER_02

Uh no, I mean everyone said what they needed to say about this movie. It's an this is like this is like a phenomenal, like this is like a benchmark like movie. Like this was an event more than a release, a movie release. I mean, everyone's been anticipating this for years.

SPEAKER_01

Pretty much since the first Avengers movie since they teased Dennis.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, exactly. And then it's it's it's just it's just like you know, this was like an like I said, this is this gave me one of like my most memorable like experience in the movie theaters, man.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like and like this was like quite the cinematic experience, too. It's like it's hard to even and then on top of that, and it was good. Like honestly, this could have this movie could have failed so easily. Like, you know, they could have failed the villain.

SPEAKER_01

They could have failed the villain.

SPEAKER_02

That could have been a little bit. They could have just messed up by like this the plot, everything could have gone south easily because of how like you gotta understand, like, this is not just we have like so many characters we're introduced that are you know it's insane, like how many characters we we're in this, but thanks to you know, us already knowing the characters, they they thankfully don't we don't linger on to them. Like we're not getting a backstory each time we see a character.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I feel like the only little backstory thing we get is the more as a child for it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, which is more of Thanos, you know, which is the Nestor since he's the character introduced in this movie.

SPEAKER_01

With all that said though, Adam, what would you give Avengers Infinity War on a scale from one to ten?

SPEAKER_02

I would give it a ten.

SPEAKER_01

As would I, as would I like fan fan, like bias aside, like I don't think I I can't say there's necessarily bias, but like or what this movie has to juggle and yeah, like really accomplish. Because it doesn't just have to introduce Thanos, it has to make him work. Like this is a giant, tall alien that's purple who wants to collect stones to wipe out half the universe. You have to make that work, and you're coming off where the comic is like, oh, by the way, I'm doing it for the name of love. I wanna be with uh with death, the embodiment of death, right? That's stupid. So now you have to change that and make it work, and they do, they have to juggle all these characters, so they don't feel like a mess, like, oh let's throw U5 here, U5 there, U6 there, you guys can team up. No, no, you have to divide them so well, and like the groups that you have them like have to also work together, right? You can't just be like uh this is how they got you have to juggle so much and plan out so much. This movie knocks everything out of the park. And you have to make it not like drag, and you're doing it all in two and a half hours. That's insane. I'd agree. 10 out of 10 movie for me. Uh letterbox, it's sitting at a four aspect.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, just for like just uh like the sheer scale of what they had to do. Just it's impressive.

SPEAKER_01

It's like oh, you know what? It's unheard of.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Even the first Avengers movie, unheard of. This was like the yeah, this is like they made it. I mean they made a cinematic universe, man. They haven't made that hasn't been like the closest thing I can think of is maybe Godzilla in maybe the old like monster movies. But and even then, like I can't say they've like accomplished like the things that like Avengers, like the MCU has accomplished. To not just be like them like just to be like creative like uh interconnecting movies, but the fact that they made it like so successful that these are like beloved characters now. Uh again, I I maybe the Universal Monster movies, but you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and it's not just like oh, no shade at this franchise at all, or these franchises. Like the Batman movies. Think about all the Batmans we've had, the James Bond movies, think about all the James Bond movies we've had, all the different James Bond movies, uh actors who play the James Bond movies, right? They're like, oh, let's do the I think it's typically like we'll do like a few movies and then we'll recast. We'll do a few movies and then we'll recast, right? But I've okay, I just want to preface, I've never seen the James Bond movies. But like it's like, okay, here, spy thriller. Here we go. And with the uh with not just the Avengers movies, but I'm talking about like every single more movie in the MCU up until this point, um, it's like we're not just gonna be like, okay, Iron Man gets his movies. Yeah, you get like characters who get franchises and all that stuff, but then you're like, oh, but we're also gonna try something new. Like, here are the namestays that did event the first Avengers movie. Now we're gonna try new stuff to introduce new characters. We get At-Man, we get uh Guardians of the Galaxy, we get Doctor Strange, we get Black Panther, right? You're they're attempting so many new things that don't necessarily that end up working, that end up being a success, that end up adding more to the story that is in Fini Reston.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, exactly. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It's just like uh this is a so a lot of people can't compare this to like um the Lord of the Rings trilogy, like the final war at the end, like you know, like that was like I think it was one of the first successful, like I don't know, like big trilogy, but like but yeah, I I mean I wish I can get because you know it that was also like quite the spectacle.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Would it have been the time to be alive? I know. Oh well like were we alive? What time when did that come out?

SPEAKER_02

I think like early 2000s, 2004, 2005, maybe.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, 2001, 2003, 2000 oh, 2001, 2003, and 2002.

SPEAKER_02

I knew it it was before I met you that they were already out.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, I was only I was only two when the first one came out. Yeah. Um, but yeah, um uh letterbox has this at a four out of five. Uh IMDB has it at 8.4 out of 10, and Rotten Tomatoes has it at 85%. Ummy hell, that's not bad. No, well, that's the tomato meter, the audience popcorn meter one is at 92%.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, not surprised. Like, because yeah, again, like, dude, what they like the fact that they this is so well received. It's just it's it's just in this feat in its own.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. It's yeah. Um, also, Adam, we're gonna play our budget and box office guessing game. Oh, hell. This I there's no way I can tell with this movie. Rough estimate. What do you think? What was your guess to what their net production budget is?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, dude, this God, what was it? It had to be somewhere in the billions.

SPEAKER_01

No, just the budget. The budget. We're talking the budget right now. What do you think the movie budget was?

SPEAKER_02

The budget? Uh I'm still batting at a billion somewhere in the billions.

SPEAKER_01

How much do you think it took? Or how much do you think they paid to make this movie? I think this is also including like advertising and all that stuff.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna go one, I'm gonna go 2.3 billion to make the movie.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, to make the movie.

unknown

I don't know, disappoint me.

SPEAKER_01

It cost roughly 325 to 400 million. Really? What? Why would two billion is so much to make a movie? I didn't know. That's an absurd amount. That would be true if if Robert Downey Jr. was asking for 500 million to be cast as Iron Man. No, really?

SPEAKER_03

Oh god, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

That's unheard of.

SPEAKER_03

Am I tripping?

SPEAKER_01

You are tripping. Budget. We're just talking budget. How much it costs to make the movie? 325 to 400 million.

SPEAKER_03

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Now how much do you think the global box office brought in?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, oh my god. I remember because I remember the the box office now. Wasn't it like wasn't it like almost 1.5 billion or something like that?

SPEAKER_01

Or one it was two point zero five two billion dollars. Jesus. What's crazy is one point three billion of that was international.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean, this was a worldwide thing, man.

SPEAKER_01

Uh 678 million came from the US and Canada. It set the opening weekend record of six hundred forty million dollars in its first weekend.

SPEAKER_03

In its first weekend. Jeez.

SPEAKER_01

Um, and I believe it was the um first superhero movie in history that across the two billion dollar mark.

SPEAKER_03

Wow. Well deserved. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely. Alright, well, that was us talking about Avengers Infinity War. This was our season premiere, by the way, guys. Season premiere is we went for a while. We went for a while. No apologies for the runtime of this episode, but it was deserved of this movie. It was Infinity War. You knew it was gonna go for a while. You had to. What's funny is we went longer than the actual movie. Oh shit. Yeah. I'll tell you after we get off. But um, yeah, that was Avengers Infinity War season premiere. What I'm I'm glad we finally got to this movie. I told you before, I've told you during, I've told you a while ago. I can't wait to get to this movie because it's Infinity War. It's not just a movie, it's the like the thing that the MCU has been building to. It's literally what going to go see this movie was a moment in time. Yeah. Absolutely great. Um, once again, uh, we both gave it 10 out of 10s. Awesome.

unknown

Oof.

SPEAKER_01

Oof, oof, oof. It's so funny what the next MCU movie after this is. Um, but yeah, stay tuned um for next week, where Adam and I will be talking about the Ghost Rider franchise. Hey, that'll be fun. Surprising fun. Right?

SPEAKER_02

Right?

SPEAKER_01
