Hebrews 10:24-25
*6 New Testament instructions that only make sense in light of formal church
membership:
1) For believers to be accountable to elders of a church. (1Thess. 5:12,13; Heb. 13:17)
2) For elders to know & care for their flock. (Acts 20:28; 1Pet. 5:1-3; James 5:14)
3) For widows to be cared for. (1Tim. 5:9,10)
4) For congregational decisions to be made. (Acts 15:22)
5) For biblical metaphors to be understood. (1Cor. 12:14-26; 1Pet. 2:4,5)
6) For church discipline to take place. (Matt. 18:15-17; 1Cor. 5:4, 11-13; 2Cor. 2:5-13)
