Talks with Ntsudio is a creative platform and community organization based between Cairo, Egypt and Doha, Qatar that revolves around design, personal growth, career success and struggles, and how to stay authentic in such a saturated field in the MENA region and abroad. We are creators. We are artists, designers, musicians, dreamers, doctors, engineers and even athletes because to be a creative you just have to create! So the motto for the podcast is “Stay curious and share knowledge”. This space encourages your ability to ask questions and to converse with other creators from all fields and backgrounds. I am so excited to announce that i will be the exclusive podcast partner for film my design. FMD is the first and only design-film festival in the MENA region, held bi-annually in Cairo, Egypt. Leveraging Egypt’s strong, long-standing connection to the film world, FMD’s mission centers on telling inspiring, engaging, and thought-provoking stories on design, architecture and city life using film.

Our first guest is Basma Hamdy, designer, author, and educator from Egypt who specializes in Arabic typography and visual culture. She is the founding director of TypeAraby and co-author of Walls of Freedom: Street Art of the Egyptian Revolution (2014) and Khatt: Egypt’s Calligraphic Landscape (2018).

She will be moderating a panel during the event called “Material Cultures for Sustainable Living”.

This panel discussion explores the innovative use of local materials to create environmentally responsible and culturally relevant design solutions.
