God is always present to help but we often fail to receive His help because we do not often recognize His help when we see it. We fail to recognize His help because we often live by our carnal mindsets, not aligning with the will of God. You set yourself up to receive God's help for your household by putting off the old human nature and put on the new human nature designed to be like God.

And our focus last week, Sunday, was that if you want to experience God's help, you must be generational minded. You must be what? God is a God of generation. He sees beyond you. That is why he instituted families. And everyone that he has raised to raise a family has the responsibility of raising children that are godly. I told us that if you are mindful of your generation coming after you, you'll be mindful of how you live. Any life you are not proud of, as a child of God, don't leave it because you'll be transferring it to your children. In fact, whether they see you living such life or not is a spiritual thing. A lying parent will raise lying children. You'll ask yourself, this decision I'm about to take, how will it impact my family? How will it impact my wife, my husband, my children? I showed us about King Hezekiah that made a mistake, committed an error, and God sent the prophet to him to show him the consequences of his errors, and he was okay with the consequence as long as it won't happen in his own time. At least in his own time there will be peace. Because a parent, a father or mother who, because of what they will eat, encourage their children. I learned that in these days, parents buy laptops for their sons to do Yahoo. You want the money that will come from it, but you are not looking at the outcome of it. Nobody goes against the law and survives it. The law will catch up with the person. No matter how powerful you are, one day the law will catch up with you. Who they had to arrest? So if you are mindful of what becomes of your generation, you will be mindful and careful of the decisions you take. You will ask yourself, the consequence, is there any consequence for this thing? How will it affect my child unborn? How will it affect my wife? How will it affect my husband? How will it affect the generation coming after me? Do you know some people, some of our politicians, are doing things now that will become a problem to their children tomorrow. That they will hear you are the son of so they say, No, go better for your partner in the grave. So your your papa put us in this problem. But there are people where they showed up, they say, You are the child of Soso. Oh, you are welcome because of the legacy their parents left behind. May you leave good legacies for your children. Today we'll take a step further. How to receive God's help for your household. Ephesians chapter 4. Let's quickly read from verse 22 to 32. When Pastor Duke was reading this during the Bible study, I said, What's wrong with this woman? That she wanted to preach my message, but thank God she didn't preach everything. I see half more to preach. Praise the Lord. That you put off. Somebody said that you put off. Who is going to put off? You concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts. Verse 23. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind. And that you put on the new man which was created according to God. Created according to who? According to God. Put off the old man that was corrupt, that is corrupt. Put on the new man which was created according to God in true righteousness. And holiness. Verse 45. Therefore, putting away what? Lying. Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor. For we are members of one another. Be angry and do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your rods, nor give place to the devil. Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, walking with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God. Do not what? Grieve the Holy Spirit of God by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Verse 31. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you with all malice. And be kind to one another. Tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Today and next Sunday, we're going to be addressing issues from this long passage. Understand this church that God is always present to help. Remember Psalm 46, verse 1. The Lord is our refuge. The very present help in time of trouble. The very present help. That is the help that is always present. Give me that Psalm 46, verse 1, me dear. God is our what? Refuge and strength. A very present. It will have been enough if we say a present help. But it said a very present help in trouble. So that suggests to me that God is always available to help. God is always present to help. But we often fail to receive his help because we do not always recognize his help when we see it. Do you understand that? God is always available to help us. But the greatest problem why we are not receiving his help is because we don't often recognize God's help when he offers it to us. You see, the reason is because many of us as believers do not know the difference between God's help and the devil's trap that disguises itself as help. Do you understand that? There is genuine help from God. There is the devil's trap that looks like help. That's where we have issue. We often don't recognize God's help when God is trying to help us. So we often abandon his help. Instead, we give ourselves to the devil's trap because it makes more sense to us. Do you know the reason for this? Because even though we are born again, we are new creation in Christ Jesus, we often still live by our natural carnal mindsets. Let me give you one or two examples. The example of David. God had a great destiny for David. David was ordained by God to become the king over Israel. But there was a process. And for it to be possible, God had to make help available. First of all, he anointed David. So that anointing was meant to help him to deal with every issues that will come up in the course of his journey to the throne, and when he gets to the throne. See, church, God will never demand from you what he has not given to you. There is no temptation that comes to you that is not common to man. God is faithful, who will never allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to handle. 1 Corinthians chapter 10, verse 13. Please follow me carefully this morning. And my prayer is that God will give you understanding. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man. Listen, church, any situation you are going through, and the devil wants to believe you to believe why me? Why must it be me? No, no, no, no. The Bible says there is nothing you go through that is not common to man. What you are going through, multitudes of others have gone through it, multitudes are going through it, multitudes will still go through it. Don't personalize your troubles. But with the temptation, somebody say, with the temptation, will also make the way of escape that you may be able to bear it. There's nothing we go through there, there is no way out of it. Anything that wants you to believe that, oh, there is no way out is the lies of the devil. There is a way out of every temptation. Now, understand this: God provided a help for David. Number one, through the anointing, by anointing him, and number two, by preparing him. How? David was alone in the wilderness taking care of his father's sheep. The bear came to attack the sheep. Another time the lion came to attack the sheep. Those incidences were God's help to David to prepare him for what lies ahead. If David has not fought the bear, if David has not fought the lion, where there was nobody to clap for him, there is no way Saul will have allowed him to fight Goliath. Listen, there are something you must fight in the secret where there's nobody to clap for you, to appreciate your effort. The reason is this there is something more important about your life. And so God has to prepare you in the private. That's one of the ways of God's help. But we often think every help from God must be trouble free. Many of his help comes in form of troubles. But those troubles are meant to equip you to handle bigger troubles that will announce you. Is somebody learning this morning? The challenge is many of us we have not allowed God to build us in the secret place. We want to show up in the open. It doesn't work out like that. If you have not fought the lion, if you have not fought the bears and dealt with them where there was nobody to handle to clap for you, you can't fight Goliath in the public. And it was in fighting Goliath that he will move closer to the throne. It was in fighting Goliath that he will be recognized. That will be the beginning of his manifestation and also the beginning of greater problem. You like to be exalted? You want to be great? Don't be afraid of troubles. Troubles are part and parcel of your journey to greatness. So the bear and the lions were God's help. Do you know? When David was talking to Saul, Saul said, You are a small boy. We are talking about real fights here. And we can't allow you, small boy that has no experience, to go and fight that experienced warrior. The whole of Israel will become his the slave of the Philistines. But David said, I might be small in age. Yes, I'm 17. But there's something about me you don't know. I said, While taking care of my father's sheep, lion came, I killed it. Bear came. Hear me. Bears are not small animals, they are huge, bigger. Their body weight is about four times or five the weight of a normal human being. Yet with his bare hand, he slew the bear. With his bare hand, he slew the lion. When Saul had the testimony, he said, No, I underestimated you. Oh, yeah, come and face the guy. Because nobody, no natural man can do that. So David said, The Lord who delivered the bear and the lion into my hands will also. He had a reference point. What have you conquered secretly? Your secret battles are God's help. They are what? Let me give you another example. When Joseph, Joseph wouldn't have known that what his brother did to him was help. Church. Church. Are you listening to me? Don't be afraid of haters. Many times you need them. When you get too comfortable, God in his mercy can help you by steering up the heart of people to hate you so that you can get out of your comfort zone and say, No, I'm more than this. There are times you need people to reject you. So that to you can purge yourself of dependency mindset. When God wants to use you, He will take you from away from having that mindset that depends on people. My uncle, my auntie, my brother, my father, my mother, and nobody is helping me. No, you are meant to help others. God will bring you to a place, that's part of his help. Bring you to a place where you have no human being to rest on. It looks like punishment is training. That's part of God's help. Church, you need to understand this that prayer is not just to is not to manipulate God to do your bidding. No, prayer and aligns you, aligns you with what God wants for your life. Am I talking to somebody? So the devil wanted to distract Joseph through Potiphar's wife. But that same weapon that the devil attempted to use was what God used to help Joseph. Joseph was able to receive God's help because he has a righteousness mindset. Is somebody hearing that? Let's just imagine. Let's just imagine. Oh, Joseph, you are. Handsome guy. You fine or no? Don't worry. Just join me. Make with the do the show. And I will take, I will spoil you silly in this house. It looks like help. But it's a trap. That God eventually converted to an instrument of help. Because if Joseph was not righteousness-minded, ah, my gas wife. Every of us agree that woman has voice. If you are not married to. Every wife must have some voice. In the husbands. Whether you like it or not. You know, I love a story that somebody shared. He said, a priest said, in this church, if you are a man, if you know that your wife is the one controlling you, get up, move to this side. So every man moved to that side. Except one man. So now turn to that and say, Ah, thank God though that at least I have one man that the wife is not controlling. The man says, Excuse me, sir. My wife said I should sit down. It's my wife that says I shouldn't join them. Let me say something to you. No matter how hard you are as a man, your wife will still control you somehow. Because, woman, why are you looking at me like don't you do it? He said no. When he said, My love, my darling, my sweetie, you praise him, praise him, praise him. Can we go to or don't go parara? And the man head swell, passing pockets. Go follow him the plan for didn't work, he cannot even afford. Don't deceive yourself. We influence ourselves directly or indirectly. Let me tell you something. There are things that naturally I didn't like. And I won't buy with my eye. Impast tense. I wouldn't have bought with my money until now. Until my wife said, Lord, look at this thing. It's nice, so I said, I don't like it. Said, check it, it's nice. It's and she started telling me good things about the things. Before I know I don't buy them. What do you call that? Anything where you like call. Joseph knew how powerful women are. He knew that. Your god's wife will have influenced the other to do more for him. But he also knew he'll be walking contrary to the will of God. He ran away. He was righteous, righteousness driven. He had a righteous mentality. And what's supposed to be a trap. Thank you. What's supposed to be a trap became an instrument of help because that sent him to jail. It was in prison he met. Thank you, sir. It was in prison he met the man that introduced him to the palace. God's ways are not your ways. Am I talking to somebody? God's ways are not your ways. It takes someone who thinks like him and see through his eyes to align himself. That's why, that's why I told you earlier on. Many are times when God's help comes, many of us don't recognize it as God's help. Just imagine that Joseph started sleeping with that woman. His career doesn't end before God. Because nothing will have taken him to jail. And that's that guy. Or they didn't catch them. He just continued like that. It will look as if he was enjoying until farming will come. It will look as if his choice, his decision was working. On the farming will come. Somebody was meant to be in control of the whole nation will be reduced to nothing because he made a wrong choice that appears to be helpful initially. Please stop living for today alone. Some of us, some of the problems we are dealing with now is because of how we lived yesterday. The decisions that look like hell, but they are Satan's trap that gave us temporary enjoyment and eventually it expires. There is nothing that comes from the devil that is forever. So the mindset you and I live by will determine how much of God's help we will receive for ourselves and for our household. Because if you can't discern God's help, because most of the time it won't come in form of help, it will come in form of responsibility. Some will come in form of troubles. If you can't discern God's help, you have excused yourself from it, and the only reason for that is because you don't have a mindset, you are not operating with the right mindset that aligns with the will of God for your life. This is the reason we are instructed as believers from that scripture we read in Events chapter 4 from verse 22 to 32 that we must put off our old human nature. We must do what? Put off our old human nature and put on our new nature that was created to be like God. Let's read that. Ephesians 4, 22 to 24, Ephesians chapter 4, verse 22 to 24. That you put off concerning your former conduct. So your mindset determines your conduct. So if you operate with your old human nature, it will reflect in your conduct, it will show in your attitudes, it will show in your approach to life. That you put off concerning your former conduct the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lust. Verse 23. And do what? Be renewed in the spirit of your mind, verse 24. And that you put on the new man which was created according to God in true righteousness and holiness. Let's read again from verse 22. Let's read from New Living Translations. For better understanding. Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by what? By lust and deception. Verse 23. Instead, let the spirit renew what? Your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature. Created to be like God. Truly righteous and holy. Listen, you will only recognize God's help when you are operating with the mindset of your new nature. And it's a process. The process of putting off and putting on. That's why we gather here every Sunday. That's why we gather in house fellowship every Monday evening. That's why we gather here every Thursday in Bible study. Because that process is meant to help us renew our mind. When your mind changes, your lifestyle will change. If you keep living as if you are an unbeliever, you are born again, you are heaven-bound, but the challenge is this you will not be able to fulfill God's plan for you on earth. You know why? You can't fulfill God's plan for you, operating with your natural mind alone. So until you allow your mind to be renewed by God's word, you will keep living by your old human nature. Thereby subjecting yourself to the power of sin. Which Jesus had already delivered you from. When you live according to your old sinful nature, you bring yourself under the power of sin that Christ has delivered you from. Listen, sin will be telling you what to do. Sin is not just an act, sin is first in nature. You know, when we hear sin, sin, sin, sin, the first thing that comes into our mind is act. Committed immorality, committed this, no uh uh sin is first in nature. Sin is a being, is an entity. Hell, what we call hell actually is the lake of fire. Is the lake of fire we refer to as hell. That's the teaching for another day. Hell actually means the the the Greek word translated to hell actually actually means the place of the dead. Hades where dead bodies are kept. When you hear grave, it's not that in the deal. A grave is an entity. Grave is what? Is an entity. Study the book of Revelation, chapter 9 19, from verse 11. And study uh uh Revelation chapter 6 from verse 1. Grave, when death rides on a horse, grave follows it. Because it is death that feels grave. So grave is beyond when we pray to break the power of the grave and death, we are dealing with spirit, not the normal thing, not physical things. That six feet is just a physical representation of what happens in the spirit. So if you allow yourself to be ruled and controlled by your old natural mind, you have unconsciously subjected yourself to sin. Sin will interpret issues to you. Sin will define situations to you. And that is what will make people make sinful decisions in order to satisfy what they think is their need. What you don't understand is this every sinful decision you make deprives you of help that God can provide. That means you have boycotted the help of God. God is not withholding from you, but we are not beholding his help. That's where the challenge is. God will never withhold his help, he's offering his help, but because we can't recognize it, because we have seen through the eyes of sin. If Joseph has seen through the eyes of sin, we will have accepted Potiphar's wife. He will have seen Potiphar's wife as an opportunity, and that will have robbed him of becoming a prime minister. Listening, I've come to speak over somebody's life. In any way, sin has derailed you. In the name of Jesus, the mercy of God will reorder your step in the name of Jesus. Stronger than what any devil can offer you, than what the world can offer you. And I've come to announce to you that what God has for you in the name of Jesus, you will get them in Jesus' name. Allow your mind to be renewed. Sin is not meant to control you or dominate you anymore. Through the death of Jesus, the power of sin has been destroyed. Don't allow what is dead to still be controlling you. Romans chapter 6, verse 6 to 11 from NLT. Quickly. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ. Look at the next statement. So that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. You are not a slave to sin. You are not meant to be in bondage to anything at all. As a child of God, you don't have to be in bondage to any addiction. Because sin sponsors addictions. But for you who is in Christ, go back to where we are reading. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified. Stop trying to live by what has been crucified. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ. So that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. Verse 7. For when we died with Christ, listen, when Christ was hung on the cross at Calvary, in the mind of God, you and I were in him. Everyone that believes in Christ were in him. So as he was being nailed to the cross, we were nailed with him. For when we died with Christ, we were set free from what? From the power of sin. Verse 8. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also, we know we will also live with him. Verse 9. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. Verse 11. So you also should consider yourself to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. Let this mind be in you. I'm dead to sin. I'm alive to God. Sin has no power over me. I don't have to be dominated by sin and manipulated by sin. I live for Jesus. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. Let that mind be in you. Let that mind be in you. It will influence your decisions, it will help you to resist the suggestion of sin and Satan. Hello. I don't care as a man what you feel about your wife. There is no moral justification for adultery. You are a child of God. Whatsoever makes you commit adultery is a suggestion from sin. You can't operate with righteousness mindset and commit adultery. No matter what your wife or your husband has done wrong. Am I talking to somebody? Do you know what happened? We'll get more into it next week. If you allow your old human nature to control you, you'll be self-centered. To you, life is will be all about what satisfies you, what makes you happy. You know, those are part of the teachings that have been imported to the church today. How many of us have had it before? It sounds good, but it's a trap. Do anything that makes you happy. It sounds good to the natural mind, but it works in the lives of those who are self-centered. This is what makes you happy. Have you not seen people who drinking hennes makes them happy? And they drink and drink until their liver packs up. Enjoy yourself and kill yourself. That's what sin is suggesting to you. Am I talking to somebody? Anytime I feel tense up, I just smoke small. Smoke small and destroy your lungs. That can only be a suggestion from sin. God will not ask you to smoke to feel good. You have the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit is a spirit of joy. Nobody can make you high more than Him. If you are not feeling high, you have not known the Holy Spirit. See, there are days I sit down, I study, I study, I study. It will get to somebody say, you know, I get weight. Well, well. Why are you laughing? Why are you laughing? Don't I have weight? Thank you. But there is a time, there are times I study God's word. I will get up and I'll feel as if I did thought pastors a day. I feel huge. And say, Satan, you are mad. Where are you? Let me crush your head. Because there are things I got from the word that enters into me. Am I talking to somebody? You catch revelation in God's word. He changes your mind about yourself and about God. Your natural self just wants to focus on you and you and you and you. Even when you do good things to people, it's a strategy. They don't like you. They don't like shishi out of you. When they do good to you is to bring you under their control. Have you not seen such human beings? This is a true life story. A guy in America, I watched the video is on the internet. This lady met this young man and they started dating. And this young man said he likes women who are on the plus size. He now started buying, encouraging the lady to eat all manner of junk. And the lady started getting big, bigger, and bigger until she couldn't even bath herself anymore. When she used the toilet, it was the guy that had to help clean up. Because everywhere, and the guy stood with her, so she thought it was love. Until she her weight got to about close to 400 kg. And to even get up was a problem. So they invited one of the renowned medical doctors who does all this bypass surgery to come and talk to her. Because everybody that tried to talk to her, she refused because the boyfriend said, No, I like you like this. Finally, they persuaded her and the boyfriend. They asked her that before they could do the bypass surgery, she had to shed some weight first. So they told her the exercise to be doing. She did the exercise, she did the exercise, she was able to shed about 55 kg. And then they now said she was ready for surgery. So after the surgery, as she returned, the boyfriend disappeared. Left her. Said, because, see, that is not love. You saw somebody suffering, and because it satisfied you, she should remain like that. She can't walk, she couldn't walk, she couldn't do anything, but you volunteered to be cleaning her up. No, sir, that is not love. It was what suits her sinful, his sinful nature. That's why he has energy to be taking care of her. Because the truth is this, at the end of the day, if she has not, she was just expecting her to die and then change over to another person. Because if she has continued, fat will have killed her. That's the old man's way of living. Ladies, ladies, I'm talking to young ladies that are not married. Anybody in the name of love that encourages you to disobey your parents is an enemy of your life. Have you not seen girls that will run away with man? The parents will say, Don't call me again. I found the love of my life. I sit down, they look you. Anybody who encourages you to dishonor your parents doesn't love you. Just using you to satisfy his own need. There is something in your life that gives him pleasure. When he's tired of you, we discard you. So, what are we saying? Those who live lives based on a mindset that is controlled by their old human nature will always be blind to God's help. And when they are blind to God's help, the power of sin will be controlling their mind, will be influencing their decision, and by doing so separate them from the parts God has for them. Such people misinterpret the move of God in their life. What God meant for good, they complain about it. What God is wants to use to build them up, they run away from it. Listen, church. When God what God wants to do in your life is a very serious one, you will walk through fire. Is somebody listening to me? You will walk through fire. See, some of you don't you have to stop complaining about your spouse. Do you know why? There are times the spouse you are complaining about is God's help to change you. There are times God's want to teach you more patience. You still see that they care, but they're going to trouble you still. Learn more patience because where I'm taking you to, you need patience to survive there. Some of you are just looking at the greatness. You are trusting God to give to you. But you don't understand that greatness comes with a price. At times, one of the prices of greatness is loneliness. You are in the midst of plenty people, yet you are lonely. You are taking care of many people's needs, but you don't have anyone to talk to about your own needs. If you have not been trained before you get there, you misbehave. Listen, church. There are certain challenges of life. If you have not been well trained, before you enter that realm, it will crush you. God forbid. I thought I was strong at a time. But at certain situations I found myself. I knew I was broken. At a time I got tired of living. And I justified it. I said, no need of living long. Those of us in church, you are always hearing me now. I said no need of living long. There are certain things we say or do, it has deeper meaning than what we are hearing. Am I talking to somebody? But many of those things are training. Because God will never allow you to be tempted beyond what you can handle. I was talking to the leaders and workers, those of you who are in the leaders and workers meeting. There are things we went through as a church that that time it didn't happen to me directly, but happened to my daughters. It broke me. I complained with God. I I was angry with God, but I only put myself into deeper trouble. See, the devil wants you to complain. But that will never change God, sir. God will still be God. You know what amazed me about God? When you are bitter, angry, say, which kind God be this? Even small husband, we will say, say, make it give us since all this day. You know if he give. While you are doing that, somebody is worshipping with tears. In absolute submission to him, pressing him genuinely from their hearts. How I feel about God cannot reduce him. He's already too big to be reduced. He's too big to be reduced. Oh Lord, we exhort you. No, you are exhorting in your own heart. He's already exalted. Oh Lord, we lift your name on heart. His name is already lifted. It is in your heart you need to lift him up. The Bible calls him the great and the lofty one, the one that inhabits eternity. Inhabits from eternity past to eternity. God lives in my yesterday, lives in my today, lives in my tomorrow. Eternity. Do you know what? He dwells above the heavens. Heaven is only his throne, not his dwelling place. Somebody will Pastor, what are you saying? Remember Genesis chapter 1? In the beginning. In the beginning, God did what created the heavens and the earth. Okay, before he created the heavens and the earth, where was he staying? Where was he living? So it's not living in heaven. He dwells above the heavens. That's not the God. And you know what? Is it um 1 Timothy chapter 6, verse 16? No, 2 Timothy 6, 16. He said, He dwells in the midst of light that cannot be approached. Is this that God you look down on? Whom alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen. God that you the verse for, you know, go fit, go touch and say, I the verse for you. What's the benefit of that versation? Let me close. Listen. Listen, we'll continue next Sunday. One of the strategies of the devil you need to be careful of is his manipulations and arrangement to keep us in that natural realm. To make us keep living according to our old man and help us to justify it. No, he knows that there are so many things, he can't stop anything about you. But the only way he can stop you is to keep you in the old realm. Instead of you putting off your old man as you read, you are now managing your old man. You modify it to look good. Church. Now they said those are the primary temperament or personality. And some combine two. And they try to teach us on how to live that natural life and be successful with it. They are robbing you. How many of us understand what I'm saying? Now some of us have learned that thing. We have studied how to be a good. See, if you look at those things, it looks real. For example, in those days when I studied it, I saw that phlegmatic. I don't like trouble. I hate confrontation. Anything that will make me have confrontation with you, I avoid it. That's even when you are hurting me. I'm at the vehicle, but I'm suppressing it. That's why our vexation is not the good. Because we are kept too much inside. But do you know we don't have to live like that? Those who are choleric, they said they are domineering. Have you heard it? They are assertive. They are bossy. Say this is me, oh I know they take shit from anybody. Trampling on everybody's head to get whatever they want. They don't care what happens to you, as long as it leads them to their desired end. And then the sanguines, they said they are people person. Said they are talkative. When they enter one place, you're going to know say they and they. Church or church, you got it. Now, now, they don't become friends with everybody. You see, every of those, for example, the sanguine, they said he's outgoing, he's sociable, but he's talkative. The choleric, they said he's confident, but he's bossy and short-tempered. Any quick thing, infuse don't blow. The melancholic, they said, is analytical, but reserved and the perfectionist. Everything you must get it perfect. And then the phlegmatic, they say it's a calm, diplomatic, but also we always try to avoid conflict. Doesn't like trouble. I used to belong there. Let me conclude it this morning with this. God does not want you to live by these personalities or temperaments because it was not from the Bible that these things were devised. The world does as they say, you as a believer, you have it, that this is who you are. That's how they are in the world. The world they have the sanguine, the choleric, the melancholy, and the phlegmatic. But that is not how God wants us to live. Let me show you the life. And that's why the process of renewal of mind must happen. Ephesians chapter 4, verse 11 to 15. We continue next Sunday. Ephesians chapter 4, verse 11 to 15. And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. For what? The pastors, the teachers, the prophets, the evangelists, they are meant to do what? For the equipping of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. You and I are meant to build up the church. And you can't build the church as a melancholy, as a sanguine. How are you going to build the church? The next verse. Melancholic, he's not sanguine. Christ is not Christ is Christ. Am I confusing you? That we should no longer be children, tossed to and flow and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the trickery of men in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting. But speaking the truth in love may grow up in all things into him who is a head Christ. Let's read from NLT to help us more. To simplify the English. Now, these are the gifts Christ gave to the church. The apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. The next verse, their responsibility, can you see it? Is to equip God's people to do his work. And do what? And build up the church. The body of Christ. You can't use a dead personality to build up the church. You can't use a dead temperament. Verse 13. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Verse 14. Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won't be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies. So clever they sound like the truth. Growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body. Listen, George. Your assignment on earth is not just to have children. You are meant to help build the body of Christ. That is what you'll be rewarded for. So if you make money, build the body of Christ. If there are some of you, you are God's apostles in marketplaces. You are meant to represent Christ in the politics. Stand for what is right in the midst of corruption. Some of us in the civil service, some of us in the business world to do the right thing and prevail by it. At the beginning, it might be tough. Because everyone around you are doing it wrongly. But you say no. I'm a child of God. I'm born of the Spirit of God. I can't live like the world. Even if they used to call you choleric, I'm not going to trample on people's head. Because I want my vision to be fulfilled. That violates the law of love. And if you they have called you a phlegmatic. Even when you know that people are going down the drain, they are going to destroy themselves. But because you don't like confrontation, you don't like to get people upset, you keep it to yourself. Until they destroy themselves. That is contrary to the law of law. All the shortcomings of the strength, in quotes, of those temperaments, you are meant to live above it. You are meant to live the life of Christ. That's why when Jesus saw that he was going to the cross and the pains that will come with it, initially, he said, Father, let's change this arrangement. Or is it not my will? The flesh wanted to see. But he said, No, flesh, you are not ruling here. You are not the one walking here. I choose to be in alignment with the father. And he submitted to the will of the father. He died and he was raised. Not just raised. He was given the name that is above every other name. He didn't have that name before he died. There are some things, some of us, our elevation in life is in our willingness to die. Die to self. Die to your desires. Die to sin. Die to the world. And tell yourself, I'll be everything God wants me to be. Whatsoever it will take, his grace will be sufficient for me. His strength is made perfect in my weakness. I may look weak, but his strength is made perfect. Look at how God helped Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 12. God knew Apostle Paul had the potential of being proud. He gave him a messenger of Satan to buffet him. And Paul saw through the eyes of God. Instead of complaining, he knew that that was meant to help him to stay humble. Look up, church. Humility is a choice. Humility is what? When I hear people say, Oh Lord, humble me. I know they don't know what they are praying about. See, if God humble you, you go complain. If God did what? Foolishly. I prayed that prayer and they passed. Oh Lord, humble me. Oh Lord, humble me. When he began to humble me, I said, Lord, what is this? I that was a big boy in quotes. Wearing designer shirt, designer shoes, enjoying life. I got to a point that I couldn't buy water, five naira. That we drink in the house. We had to carry drugs to a neighbor to beg for water. The neighbor gave us, we drank it, finished among ourselves, me, mama, and the children, and we went back for more. They said, uh-uh. Can't give you more than that. Water. Water. Is it not tap water? Tap water, we are not the drink now. You rise above your present situation. I say it again by the Spirit of the Lord. As you allow God to renew your mind, you will rise above your present situation. The same water. I'm blessed with wonderful people in the church that sent me cartons of water. Was it to uh last week? I got to the house, I saw the big, big cartons of water. Office for house. That's a water while you buy five naira own. When I buy toothpaste, four, five, my wife didn't understand. I said, why is they buy plenty? I said, Madame, you don't know anything where I was I'm coming from. There was a time I couldn't afford toothpaste. I was using Imperial leather to brush. Imperial leather soap. So when I enter the bathroom, I enter with my toothbrush. I rub the toothbrush on the soap to wash. In Lagos, then there is one toothpaste, small, small one, they call it Magzam. They pour it on the ground. Very cheap. Once in a while, if I had money to buy magazine, I'll buy one. For now. My toothpaste is not cheap. But I'll buy four. Three. When you finish brushing out, your man will lose you somehow, somehow. So please let's rise up. I choose not to live by my old man. I choose to live by the new man. See, living by the old man only prolonged evil days. Next Sunday I will show you this. From God's word. Are you blessed? Lift up your voice and give thanks to the Lord. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die. But if by the spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Somebody needs to break every consequence of living in the flesh that are waiting for manifestation. Do you understand that? Every investment I've made into the flesh that is waiting to bring wrong harvest into my life. Father, by your mercy, let them perish now. That harvest of debt will not come. We are not just talking about physical debt. It can be marital debt, it can be it can be financial debt. And you are wondering where is this problem coming from? Where is this? But what you didn't know was that you have invested in the flesh. And give me, give me, give me Galatians chapter 6. Because I need to help you to understand. Galatians chapter 6. Let's start from verse 6. Quickly, quickly, quickly. Just one prayer. Then we'll take the offering. Go to verse 7. Do not be deceived. God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. The next verse, verse 8. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap what? Corruption. But he who sows to the spirit, will of the spirit, reap what? Everlasting life. Verse 9. And let us not grow weary while doing good. For in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. There is always reaping. In case you have sown into the flesh, kill the harvest now. Am I talking to somebody? In every way, the devil wants to take advantage of what you have sown into the flesh. He wants to bring sickness into your life, he wants to bring set back into your life, he wants to bring barrenness into your life, he wants to bring delay, he wants to rob you of your peace and joy. No, we have the grace in God to kill that harvest, they must perish. Am I talking to somebody? Lift up your right hand, say in the name of Jesus, every wrong harvest waiting for manifestation, Father. I stand on in your mercy, and I decree now that in any way I have sown into the flesh, and the enemy is trying to bring forth negative harvest into my life, into my family. Father, by your mercy, let such harvest perish now. They will not find expression in my life, they will not find expression in my family. In the name of Jesus, lift up your voice and turn it to prayer.

Every harvest of corruption that are meant to terminate the lives of any of your loved ones, in the name of Jesus. I command them destroy them in the name of Jesus, every harvest of corruption that are meant to keep you impoverished, that are meant to keep you in the lower part of life that are meant to make you live a life of frustration and rejection. Therefore, in the name of Jesus, by the mercy of God, we command such harvest of corruption terminated completely from your life and family in the name of Jesus. Every harvest of corruption that are meant to keep you barren or make you barren that are meant to make you always aspiring but never reaching your goal. I stand this morning before the Lord, whom we serve, and I invoke the mercy of God. I demand for the mercy of God on your behalf, on behalf of your family, for by his mercies we are not consumed. His mercies are new every morning because the mercy of God are new this morning. I invoke the power of his mercy, and I command every harvest of corruption eliminated and destroyed from your lives and families in the name of Jesus. In any way you have used your mouth wrongly, and the result has been coming, keeping you at one spot, making other people to use their mouth wrongly against you, and it's affecting your progress, is affecting your marital fulfillment. I stand before the Lord, standing on his mercy. I command that experience to end now. Let that experience be terminated now. For you that have judged others wrongly, and now people are judging you wrongly, is affecting your progress, affecting your rising, it's not. Allow you to move forward in life today by God's mercy. That yoke is removed from your neck. That yoke is removed from your family. Let the Lord Himself begin to justify you by mercy. In the name of Jesus. Today, move forward. Go higher. Be free from every yoke of limitation and corruption. In the name of Jesus, Father, thank you. Thank you because it is done in Jesus' mighty name. How many of us are blessed this morning?
